Stopped by Paderia for coffee and pastries. We ordered the mazapán latte and the vanilla latte. Flavor-wise, both were good -- smooth and well-balanced -- but we were expecting hot lattes and received them cold, which was disappointing, especially for the price point. For what we paid, I expected more clarity or confirmation on temperature. The pastries were the highlight. The red velvet cheesecake was delicious -- rich, flavorful, and worth ordering. The croissant was also tasty, flaky, and well-made. Overall, it was an okay experience. Quality was there in parts, but spending about $40 for two drinks and two pastries (including tip) makes you evaluate the value a bit more closely. Padaria has always been my favorite coffee spot their coffee is honestly the best in the area. I usually order through the iPad machine without bothering the employees. This time, it was early in the morning and there were no other guests. I placed my order on the iPad and was about to pay, but the tap screen wouldn't respond to my card. I tried several times since I was in a rush for work. I politely asked the employee standing next to the machine if I could order a Vietnamese coffee directly. He responded, 'Just use the machine,' even though the machine clearly wasn't working. The response felt dismissive and unhelpful, showing a lack of customer service mindset. I got the triple chocolate cookie and the banana pudding. The triple chocolate cookie is a heaven for chocolate lovers. It was moist and sofr on the inisde and the edges were crisp and had a bit of a crunch. I love all the flavor combination from the different chocolates but it is definitely a very dense cookie. The banana pudding was delicious and I highly recommend. It was light and airy and not too sweet at all. My sister has been bugging about how they are the best cookies she's ever tried and now I know they are going to be hard to beat. Seasonal cookies are offered monthly and although November 2024's was a blueberry corn cookie, I had a chance to try their October 2024's Mexican Hot Chocolate cookie. After their new menu update, I'm glad to have tried their Pistachio, Ube Coconut, and Salted Caramel latte. Every drink they have has been amazing. The Pistachio is not strong in pistachio flavor, it's only a hint. The Ube Coconut is a bit on the sweeter side, but make sure to mix it well. The Salted Caramel is my favorite drink so far. Highly recommend trying out. - Banana Pudding | Airy sweet custard and as you scoop into it, sliced bananas & soft vanilla wafers are found all throughout. Seriously good. We stopped in this past weekend after eating at the Italian restaurant next door. This place was a much better experience for us. Although their prices are extremely high here for coffee and cookies, we were very impressed with the coffee and cookies themselves. We had a pistachio latte which wasn't warm enough. It was honestly just lukewarm. We also had an iced Vietnamese coffee which was one of the best Vietnamese coffees I've ever had and I consider myself a connoisseur of that drink. It was a large size as was the other one but I feel that $8 is out of control for a coffee of any size. Also, it appears that they use some sort of super automatic espresso machine for their coffee drinks. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using one of those... at home. When you charge these prices to your customers you should have a barista actually making the drinks like any other coffee shopb at a real espresso machine. Lastly, the chocolate chip with walnuts cookie was not only huge but was also one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a long time. I've always enjoyed coming here--everything tastes great. However, today's experience prompted me to leave this review. Paderia, Please consider using a number system or requiring customers to show proof when picking up orders. I thought I heard my name called, but the clown in front of me stepped up and claimed the order. I wasn't completely sure if I'd misheard, but it turns out I was right--he walked away with my order of six cookies. The shop had to replace my order and offered to refund me or provide me an additional cookie. However, this mistake costs the business both money and resources. A numbering system or verification process would help prevent this from happening again. It upsets me when people take from great businesses like this. read more

Paderia Bakehouse has been a favorite of mine since they opened one in Fountain Valley. Their Portuguese egg tarts are delicious so of course I had to get a few. I also picked up a Vietnamese iced coffee and an ensaymada which was a brioche-like bread with cream, sugar, and cheese. It was my first time trying that and it was so good! It is a bit more on the sweet side for me, but overall very fluffy and the cheese added a savory element. The egg tarts had a fantastic ratio of crust to custard. The Vietnamese coffee is your standard Viet coffee and came with a cream topper, and for me, it was the perfect level of thickness. I ordered online so pick up was a breeze. read more

Ordered the following: - 1 iced matcha latte - 6 Portuguese egg tarts - 1 banana pudding Total ~ $38 The matcha was definitely on the sweeter side; personally I like it less sweet but it was still delicious. I don't think it'd order it again or if I do, I'll ask if there is an option to not add sweetener. For the egg tarts, it is recommended it is eaten warm. The box they came with suggested a few seconds in the microwave or a few minutes in the toaster oven. We did toaster oven for about 7 minutes, the crust had a divine crunch and the inside was still very creamy. Lastly, the banana pudding. It was airy and light; it leaned more towards a very soft and light cake, it was amazing. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, the wafers were perfectly moist too. Probably my fave thing out of the things ordered. I hope to stop by again to try the Ensaymada- they were sold out by the time I got there, which was around 11am on a Friday.
