    Wedge Cobb Salad

Ok. This is the cutest little spot for spring and summer. It's perfect for the full family with great outdoor spaces and a simple mini playground for the kids. The food was fresh and made the most perfect lunch. The Legendary Fish & Chips sandwich is the most expensive thing on the menu but is it worth it? Undoubtedly! The breading had the perfect crunch. The cobb salad was fresh, textured, and packed with layers of flavour and yummy veggies. The mama lils and Rogue blue cheese dressing was a dynamo combo. Don't forget to check out their wine fridge with a small, well crafted selection of delicious sparkling, rose, white, and fruit wines!

Came here with the family and it accommodated all of us, which there was around 10-15 of us. Plenty of outside seating with a nice view of the marina and some inside seating. Cute and clean indoor area with merchandise available. You go up and order at the counter and they text you when your food is ready. I got the tuna sandwich and my husband got the big slap cheeseburger along with curly fries. Both of our meals were delicious! We even have family say that it was one of the best burgers they've had. I'm glad we got invited to come here and try it out. I'd recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Such a cool place!! Great views, great service, great food!!! We went for my sister's 30th and had a larger party of people and the service was fantastic! I ordered a dozen oysters, a dirty martini, vodka soda, French fries, and a cheeseburger. Total before tip was about $75! Reviews from the rest of the party- loved the vibes, loved the food, indoor and outdoor seating options were nice. On a pretty day the patio would be stunning!!! Very clean facility and "the oysters taste like they came fresh from the ocean" Highly recommend trying this place out! They also have the cutest merch :-) We will 100% be coming back

Wonderful lunch spot. They also serve cocktails, so I'm devising a plan to return for happy hour, sit by a fire pit and enjoy an old fashioned. Aside from the food, the service was wonderful and the ambiance was calming and conducive to a long conversation with a dear friend. The views of the small bay and Columbia are outstanding. I'll be back!

You could really taste how fresh the ingredients were in every dish that we had. My friend and I came for Portland dining month so what we tried (other than the house bread and butter which was delish) may not be on the permanent menu. Service was great and the view was gorgeous.

Pal's is already a standout. It's a modern, fun spot that gets everything right, especially the customer experience. First and foremost, the staff here is so rad. Every single person we encountered at the counter was upbeat, friendly, and genuinely fast. They make the whole service experience personal and welcoming. I liked their merch and swag. It's fun to rep this great, new spot that looks this good. Oh and the food is delicious! I would highly recommend stopping by for the speedy service, excellent food, and the chance to grab some awesome Pals swag!

We went here for a bite to eat today. It is a cute place with friendly service. I felt it was a bit spendy for an Al a carte menu. The bay shrimp sandwich, a lemonade, and an order of fries with tip was close to $30. The food is good. You have to order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It's all about the location which is wonderful. Being by water is always calming. They have a partial covered patio and a huge outdoor area when the weather permits.

Pals is such a gem along the Columbia Gorge on Hayden Island .The view alone is worth the visit - sitting by the water with a drink in hand feels like a little escape. It honestly gave me Florida coastal vibes, just with an Oregon backdrop. I was hoping to try oysters, but it looks like their menu rotates seasonally, so it may not have been oyster season yet. That just gives me an excuse to come back! The ordering process is easy: you order at the counter, give them your phone number, and they'll text you when your food is ready. We ordered the shrimp roll, albacore tuna melt, a Mai Tai and a beer to pair - and every single item was a great choice. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual, and perfect for summer. If you're looking for a scenic spot to enjoy good food and drinks with a beautiful waterfront view, don't miss Pals.

We made it to the grand opening at 5:30pm and it was delightful! We've never been to this area of town and now we have a reason to come back. Order at the counter and you'll get a text when your order is ready. Gratuity is already included on menu prices. There are so many seating options. Inside is cute, front patio is lively, and back deck is where we decided to dine. They have pebble ice. That gets extra points from our kids. It's generally family friendly but also a nice spot to grab drinks with your friends. Loved my cocktail and wine when I switched. Fresh beer and a variety of soft drinks. The food was fantastic! My fish & chips sandwich was massive. Partner got the tuna salad and it was really special. The ingredients taste high quality and fresh. Don't forget the sides! Pasta salad and those curly fries are definitely worth getting. The kids ate all their food?! That's a special occasion right there. Every single person that works there is friendly and those uniforms are adorable. So fun, we'll be back!

This is a great spot to grab food or a drink and hang out by the marina! The outdoor space is huge with lots of kid-friendly areas. When we went there was a long line. You can order food at the counter from one line and drinks/ice cream from another line. We probably waited about 20-30 minutes to order and another 30 minutes to receive our food. I thought this long wait might be a problem with little kids, but the outdoor space kept them occupied. In addition to a play area made of logs, the space also has a lawn with corn hole and a lounge area with fire pits. The place is tastefully designed and is new so everything is in great shape right now. The food itself was very tasty. The menu feels like elevated fish shack snack bar food. The teriyaki fish bowl, for example, had a complex slaw underneath trout with perfectly crispy skin. Even the things like the potato salad were better than I expected. The portions are somewhat small compared to the prices. I think things like the fish bowl were small for an entree and would recommend ordering sides (or another entree/sandwich). The cold sesame noodles felt more substantial in size. The staff are very friendly here, and the place has great vibes. I wonder if the kitchen will be faster in the future or if the complexity of the dishes limits its speed. If you are willing to wait and have realistic expectations around portion size, I would highly recommend this spot.

    Seafood tower!

Okay I am not an oyster person but I've been dreaming about the little wildcats from Hamma Hamma with the super fresh sauces from her. PAL's is more than a little seafood lunch spot, please try the dinner. We had the fish schnitzel with slaw, the seafood tower and more. Everything was so good. And the servers were so patient and nice with our unruly group. I will be back!

Quick service and good food and nice cider! Loved sitting outside! It was a bit overcast when we were there. Would love to go back on a sunny day. The deck outside is very nice and great seating.

One of my guests went with medium rare and that was more of what I was expecting with my "medium". The mashed potatoes are made with buttermilk and had small amounts of red peels and chunks of potatoes, both of which I liked a lot! Au jus and creamy horseradish sauce were both perfect. Another in our party had salmon and it looked great. We were celebrating my brother's 60th birthday and the manager brought him a huge banana split, on the house, which was amazing. I had the crème brûlée, which I adored, and another had the chocolate cake. We all enjoyed our dessert selections. My SIL had the espresso martini and said it was the best she'd ever had; absolutely delicious. Very comfortable place with lovely decor and I don't think there's a bad view in the place.

Five Stars -- Great Food, Great Service, and a View That's Hard to Beat!…read more Oswego Grill had us from the moment we opened the door. The hosts greeted us with genuine warmth and respect, and that level of service continued throughout the meal. Our waiter, Carson, was fantastic--helpful, polite, attentive without hovering, and always making sure everything at our table was just right. There's a fine line between attentive service and becoming part of the family. Carson walked it perfectly! Then there's the view of the Columbia River. With the sun reflecting off the waterfront, it was peaceful, calming, and good for the soul. It's hard to be in a bad mood with great food in front of you and the Columbia River as your backdrop. And speaking of the food... My son and daughter-in-law ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, and let me clarify the word prime rib. We're not talking about a few thin slices of beef hiding somewhere inside a bun. These were serious hunks of tender, mouthwatering prime rib, cooked beautifully. This sandwich apparently believes in truth in advertising! I had the Oswego Burger, perfectly prepared and loaded with avocado, bacon, fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion. My wife chose the Chicken Sandwich and loved the fresh bun, perfectly cooked chicken, and fresh toppings. And everybody benefited from those wonderfully crispy fries. We also ventured into the appetizers--and that turned out to be a very good decision. The Almond-Crusted Brie was a first for me. Beautiful presentation, wonderful combination of flavors, and one of those dishes where the first bite makes you stop talking for a second. Wow. What a treat! Then came the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Simply incredible. They looked almost too beautiful to eat...but fortunately, we got over that quickly. Fresh, flavorful, creative, and absolutely delicious. When you combine excellent service, beautiful ambiance, a peaceful waterfront setting, impressive presentation, and food that delivers on the flavor, you have the recipe for an easy five-star review. Oswego Grill earned every one of them. We'll definitely be back. In fact, I have a feeling Oswego Grill just earned itself a permanent spot on our list whenever we're in Vancouver visiting family. Great view. Great people. Great food. And those Ahi Tuna Nachos? I'm already thinking about the next order.

Forming connections & building community is part of the reason I visit places. This is not a "plug…read morefor me", as much as it is an "unplug for a local business". This is a critique, of Northport, not for their elevated cuisine or craft cocktails, & friendly staff, but rather a poor singular judgement call on behalf of manager Daniel. Northport replaced the closure of Swift & Union restaurant, that experienced financial hardships in a pandemic. Restaurants are all about "math". Push a local away, you lose future bankable dollars spent, which in my case = lots of hard earned $. Facts; I usually came in alone, sat at their counter, plugged in my AirPods & watched design shows, or researched new music for my upcoming shows. On 3 separate occasions I brought friends with me. I admired the decor of Northport, because of having 30+ years experience in the design field. Upon my first visit, I met Gabriel, who was a server, also studying architecture, which resonated with me. After a few more visits he gave me his number & friended me on IG. I also met Nikayla another server I can't say enough good things about! After talking with me, she brought me a crystal rock on my next visit to Northport.she believed stimulates creativity, I placed her gift on my fireplace mantel. . Finally in addition to meeting a talented elixir crafter Caitlin, I met an older gentleman employed there as a bartender who invited me to come down and see Lorna B. perform. . I accepted his invitation, he was off shift & I sat with him at the counter. It was nice to see Northport bringing in live music entertainment, became a new reason to come back. When Lorna took a break, I complimented her vocals & song selections that evening. I showed Lorna two photos of relevant connections on my phone, from my associations with similar jazz & blues performers, including Mel B. (Rialto's Jack London) & Donna K.)Portland's waterfront blues festival. A couple days later, I came back from celebrating Seattle Pride wearing a Pride T-shirt I, stopped by Northport....at the podium entrance I was greeted by server Nikayla. She was telling me about going hiking to Silver Falls, while having this exchange, their manager Daniel approached & informed me that "I was effectively no longer "welcome into Northport." Daniel's explanation was that the performer Lorna may have felt uneasy? Many performers get approached either for patrons that make a song request, or adding tips to their tip jar, or any relatable exchange. Many collaborations happen when stories are shared amongst fellow artists. I was taken a back, to say the least. How is this offensive? Would it be perceived differently, if I was a woman of color, chatting with her as one musician to another? Doubtful, which lends itself that this is reverse discrimination, as I am a gay woman in PDX. Many neighborhoods in Portland have seen gentrification, particularly in N & NE Portland. I cannot control how others perceive me, as I merely mentioned my connections to similar musicians such as Mel B., & Donna K., both whom I know that do jazz and blues music in Portland . my attempts to create viable connections, share my love of music in our community as mutual contributors, is all this was. In this city, when you are treated in this manner by a manager, to be made to feel you are unwelcome, be careful, because one never knows the people they know. For a relatively new Kenton business that claims to be all about hospitality, it saddens me, that one singular person, Daniel A., would treat a long time member of the Kenton community with utter contempt. Disdain? Add insult to injury Daniel claims that other staff members may have felt uneasy. Really? Like the one who gave me his phone number, or another one giving me a crystal & discussing hiking plans, or the other one who invites me back, danced with me & bought my cocktail during Lorna's performance? These facts do not add up, I was shamed & treated with a knee jerk reaction, even after I suggested we revisit this after some time has passed to be met with a harsh NO, in front of their staff member happily conversing with me right in front of him. I was mistreated & belong to 3 protected classes under Federal & State of Oregon laws. This is a prime example of how owners, (Davide & Tamara ) hire someone like Daniel & treat local talented residents poorly, that inevitably will spend their dollars elsewhere. Bottom line. Advocate for equality, & inclusion. This business will attempt to justify poor actions. Daniel is homophobic, and look to see how many people of color work here? Follow up: There are several local North Portland business owners & managers that welcome me. Let me know publicly, what North Portland business you speak of Daniel? Because when you attempt to smear a local resident, fact check yourself, & back it up. Because I am welcomed into most North Portland businesses, except yours.

I also like good chips & coleslaw. I found all 3 here at the Waterfront Taphouse. Yay! (Don't worry they aren't too greasy!). We went here with another couple and enjoyed the beautiful view, even though our table wasn't right next to the window. That is probably due to all the big windows and it's on the 2nd floor of its building. Our server was friendly, and our food came out quickly. Loved the fish & chips, like I indicated above. Why the 4 stars then? My husband, the only one in our party that didn't order fish & chips, didn't love his mahi mahi fish tacos. They looked beautiful but fell short on flavor. He felt they needed more seasoning-they were a little tasteless. He dumped the tiny little cup of salsa on top and asked for more, but he was still disappointed. The fish wasn't salted properly. They also came with "house made" tortilla chips. These were hard and cardboard-like. That's too bad because it's not difficult to cut tortillas and fry them up. I do it at home sometimes. They turn out great. So maybe go to a good Mexican restaurant if you have your heart set on quality tortilla chips. If you want fish & chips though, come here instead of their neighbor to the east (not mentioning any names-you know what it's called). The portions were generous-as they should be for $30. That's the only downside. A little pricey. We shared 2 silk pie slices for dessert. Very dense and dark chocolatey. Good to share-a whole piece is too rich-and I like rich! If not for the fish tacos I would give Waterfront Taphouse 5 stars.
