I had some take-out tacos from this restaurant last night. Tbh, I was initially a bit intimidated to try this place out bc of the bad reviews on Yelp. Well, turns out that I don't regret coming. Their service wasn't the best, but wasn't as bad as what the reviews were saying, at least when I was there. Also, food tasted pretty good! Meat tasted nice; their tortillas weren't my favorite personally. Definitely had better tacos in the past, but their tacos were absolutely above average! What I liked the most is that it tasted damn fresh. I want to be back to try their $10 for all you can eat Tacos on Mondays next time. + They charge extra 1 dollar for card transactions, so take your cash! read more

Found this place through IG and had to try their birria menu. I got the birria taco and added cheese. It was really good, especially with their avocado sauce. I think it's pricey for the size, but the taco had a surprising amount of meat in it. Maybe not enough for the price, but more than the flat taco makes you think. My plus one got the birria ramen which also comes with a taco. He really liked the flavor, but said the birria was skimpy. Remember that you can't trust what you see on IG. Went during COVID and their outside patio seating is open so we were able to enjoy our food at the place. It's kinda like a fast food place where you order then sit down to wait for your food. The food did not taste like something from a fast food place tho! I had the Birria Ramen, Birria Taco, and the Chicharon Taco. Used to come here pretty regularly about a year ago and the food and portions were great. But we just visited here two days ago and it has changed. It's now a sit down restaurant where they take your order at the table. Which isn't a bad thing but the prices have doubled $20 for berria ramen when I know that they used the maruchan packet before. And I guarantee the use the same one still just pour it into the bowl. They offer combo plates instead of paying for the tacos individually and offer it with a side of beans and rice. Came here at night after work and first impressions were that it's a nice looking spot. Saw they had deals everyday the day I came was Wednesday which was a buy a burrito get one for $4. 5 out of 200 reviews the good, bad, and the ugly challenge for 2020. I can honestly say I am at odds with this taco restaurant, and the best I can give them is 2 stars. It's in the heart of downtown Fullerton in a quiet corner with plenty of parking. They did not have any carne asada meat, so that was a bummer. The Carnitas Taco $2.75 (3) STARS The carnitas were excellent, and my favorite. The taco came with radishes and avocado on top of the meat. The tortilla tasted a bit fermented and didn't have the sweet corn taste that a lot of the superb taco spots have, but they were ok. However, the carnitas were crispy and tender, which melted in my mouth, and the state of Michoacán where carnitas originated would agree. The bad and Ugly: Avocado NEGATIVE STARS Avocado tasted funny and killed the experience for me. Chicken Taco: $2.50 NEGATIVE STARS I took some excellent photos of the chicken taco, but when I bit into it, I spit it right back out because it had a funny taste. What made it worse was the unusual tasting avocado that it came with and the avocado spicey sauce I put on it, it was the worst ever. I even gabbed a piece of chicken by itself, and it was still horrible, and I was disappointed. And no I didn't take it back or make a fuss, I paid for it even though it was awful, and I left. The good nonthing, The bad the avocado sauce The ugly chicken. Al Pastor Taco $2.50 (1) STAR It was just as bad a the chicken taco. It tasted dry, horrible, and old. I could tell that the meat was put in the refrigerator probably a couple of days and then reheated because it was dehydrated. It had a couple of pieces of pineapple, but I couldn't taste them and disappointed again. The good: $4.95 (4) STARS The Cheese quesadilla was surprisingly excellent! The flour tortillas were toasted with tasty, crispy brown spots, and the cheese melted and oozed everywhere. The mozzarella tasted good, and I enjoyed it. The bad and ugly: Negative -1 stars The avocado that it came with had a funny taste, but I kept eating it ( I don't know why). The more I ate, the worse it got, and that blew my mind because I have no idea how bad their avocado bach must have been. Red chipotle salsa: 5 Stars It was excellent, spicey, and I loved the essence of chipotle that was left tingling among my taste buds, Whomever mad it should be in charge of the avocado sauce. Light red salsa: (1) STAR I was not a fan because it had very little taste and very watery. Green Salsa: (4) STARS The Salsa Verde was tasty and had a good taste of spice and tomatillo Spicey Avocado sauce: (1) STARS It was creamy and spicy but had a weird taste, so I am not a fan. Maybe they just had a bad batch of avocados that day. Outdoor seating 5 STARS I enjoyed that they have outdoor seating because its comfortable and I could bring my little chihuahua with me. The quality of the tacos here seemed to have really improved compared to around 6 months ago. Previously, I would say that the tacos here dont stand out much and dont compare well to those in San Diego. However, after visiting last week, my perspective has completely changed. The tacos have had their flavors completely boosted and is now one of my favorites in the Orange County area. I would recommend all their tacos except the chicharrone taco, which ends up being a bit too dry and lacking a bit of flavor. Highly recommend their asada, lengue, al pastor, and beef stew taco (which is made with a deep fried yet soft of shell, very interesting). Whats more, they have this 25 dollar, 10 tacos in 10 minutes challenge that rewards a 50 dollar gift card if you win the challenge. Honestly, I could buy the challenge and just slowly enjoy the tacos because it is essentially a sampler pack of their tacos. They have awesome specials like monday mini tacos for 1 dollar, and taco tuesdays (for 1.5 or 2 dollars). They also have beans you can munch on while waiting! All they are missing is free chips! If you're looking for a great taco this is the place to be, however the wait time to get into the restaurant and to get the food was rather long. Spent $4 each taco to add cheese on top of the already outrageous and newly raised a la carte taco price, ended up costing over $30 on 4 tacos with just meat and cheese and not once was told what the cost would be to add cheese otherwise I would not have added it, for two people we spent $70. My girlfriend and I used to come to this place all the time but now with the dine in only option and insane prices we won't be coming back. You get to pick your meat for each item. They have beef, pork, chicken, tongue, shrimp, head, carnitas and fish. I got the tacos and I thought it was good, nothing special, but not bad at all! They have a side bar area where you can get limes, sauces and more. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside the restaurant. It is a to-go or call your number and sit type place to go to. This location is located in Downtown Fullerton and is in a shopping center with free parking. I would recommend this place to other people. read more

Do not order any fish here! I Ordered some shrimp nachos, a few hours later I was puking my guts out. Had to miss work the next day I was soo messed up. My wife also did not feel well she only had one bite luckily. I called them to let them know about it, she took down my name and number, never got a call back. I even asked for a manager they said theres no manager onsite (which could be a reason for the lack of quality). I hope their management, ownership is reading this to ensure their fish is up to temp. I normally have a pretty rock hard stomach for food if its a little old, but this took me out so it was probably pretty bad. I can say their mulitas have pretty been good just beware of the fish. 1 star due to the bad quality fish and lack of follow up. Had they called me back i would have moved on.
