I went here for my birthday dinner with my friends. Only 2 out of the eight of us had been here before. The menu is pricey so I know people normally go here for some kind of celebration or nice meal. I would probably not say it is your everyday kind of establishment. We arrived right on time and had reservations. We were told that we could not sit down until more of our party had arrived so we went over to the bar. The bartender was friendly and gave us drink recommendations. Even though we just ordered water, I think it would be a nice place to have a bar meal and drink. Once 2 more people got there, we were escorted to our table after about 10 minutes of skimming the drink menu. The table was one of the circle tables in the back by the bridge and water setup. I had requested to sit by the window but I guess other people had requested that as well. You definitely get a nice view of the city from anywhere in the restaurant though so I would not be too concerned with that if you have never been before. With the drink recommendations in mind that we were given, we ordered drinks at the table from our dinner waiter. I started out with the HUCKLEBERRY POMEGRANATE MOJITO. It was sweet and you could hardly taste the alcohol aka just my style. The second drink I ordered was the PALISADE GUAVA 'RITA. This was also sweet but you could definitely taste the tequila. It came in a martini glass that was over filled and ended up partially spilling on the table and the waiter as it was set down. Everyone at the table shared some oysters. One person got an order of 6 and the rest of us split a bakers dozen. The bakers dozen came out on a large tray with dry ice. I assumed that was for the dramatic effect but once it was basically done, it started to make this weird whistling noise cause the very last bit could not escape from between the two trays. There were many other appetizers on the table and I tried a bite of the DUNGENESS CRAB & LOBSTER BISQUE which I would recommend. It was super yummy. Then I also split the DUNGENESS CRAB CAKES which were good in flavor but whomever constructed them that night had missed a lot of the crab almost shell pieces. I am not sure what that part of the crab is called. Like the softer parts of the shell that is between the bend of the crab legs. Two of us both found pieces in our crab cake when chewing and had to pull them out. For my meal, I ordered the GRILLED AMERICAN WAGYU TOP SIRLOIN. This was on the dry side and the shrimp didn't really taste that fresh, they were also borderline over cooked. I still ate it but for the price it was disappointing. It came out already cut and that was probably why it was dry, it had been resting too long or something. Since it was my birthday I was expecting a complimentary dessert or something. Maybe that is not their thing. They did however put a candle in my friend's dessert to blow out which was the creme brulee trio. I would eat that dessert again. It was a good one to share. Overall the food was okay. For the price of the dinner, I food quality could have been a lot better. I would go back but it is not anywhere near the top of my list anymore. read more

I don't know if they were having an off-night or what but we made the mistake of taking a party of 4 adults and a child for a dinner reservation last night and we're still paying the price. The $500 bill is nothing compared to what we're dealing with now. Food: -100/10 Service: 9/10 View: 10/10 We've eaten here well over a dozen times. Between us we've had everything on the menu, multiple times. What we had last night wasn't close to what we've had previously. For starters, our server was very nice, and we still tipped her well because it wasn't her fault. Wait times were longer than usual but nothing to complain about really. I did notice a ton of people complaining to the manager and I just chalked them up to the normal complainers who want attention. That'll teach me to judge. Appetizers: 1. Ahi poke wasn't seasoned other than the slightest hint of sesame oil. Just cubes of ahi without jalapeno or sesame seeds or soy sauce or onions or anything. 2. Steak Tartare wasn't seasoned at all, and the color was a little weird. Raw apples and raw onion, and weird chunks of steak(I'll get to that later). 3. Kumamotos($60/dozen) had no brine, weren't detached from the shell, and had bits of shell in every single one. Entrees: 1. Stuffed prawns had fewer than normal and was appetizer size, also dry, and it's her favorite entree so she's had it many times. 2. Medium-rare steak was cold in the middle and burnt on the outside. No, I didn't send back, I'm an idiot. 3. Asparagus was both mushy like it had been steamed AND burned.(I'm not really sure how they accomplished that) 4. Halibut was dry as a bone. 5. Prime rib was served to my senile FIL who will eat anything, and a kids pasta was the other dish served to my 9 yr. old who will also eat anything. To make matters worse, two of our party of 5, have explosive diarrhea and one is puking. All ate the beef of some sort so I'm pretty sure that's the culprit. I'd like a fresh pair of underwear and to never eat there again. I'd write more but I hear the bathroom calling my name again. (Edited to add) My wife just reminded me that the kids pasta didn't have cheese or meatballs, and the koi pond was full of dead fish. read more

I came here during Seattle Restaurant Week with my friends. Palisade is such a classy place with a beautiful view of the city skyline over the water. The service here is also amazing. This is the type of place for a date night. So for appetizer, a few of my friends got the Cesar salad and when it came out, we were all struggling to not laugh. We expected a regular tossed salad but instead there was just one romaine heart on the dish. Once cut up, it resembled more like a salad and tasted fine, but it was just a weird presentation and funny since they had to work for their salad. Compared to my friend's sad Cesar salad, I was so glad I got the house smoked salmon dip. It tasted so good with the bread. So flavorful and the cucumber was a nice cool contrast. The surf and turf was nothing too special. Just steak and two shrimps with mashed potatoes. The steak didn't blown me away or anything, I didn't even finish it and let my friend have most of it. The cheesecake was delicious! A small bite but still delicious! Overall I wouldn't come here during restaurant week, but they do have other good options on their menu. We made a reservation for dinner for two on a Sunday and it was a very mixed bag. THE GOOD: 1. THE VIEW. Magical combination of sailboats, city, sound and mountain at sunset, one of Seattle's best. 2. Impressive formally printed list of mocktails, the two we ordered were delicious. 3. Pear & blue cheese salad was an excellent starter. 4. Waitstaff were friendly if overwhelmed. THE BAD: 1. We were sat directly next to the loud kitchen despite many much better tables being available- we had to request to be moved. 2. Service was pretty slow despite the restaurant being half empty. 3. Other than the salad, the rest of the meal was awful- burned bread, bland dry chicken, overcooked pasta. 4. The extra "living wage" surcharge was bizarre- shouldn't the restaurant be paying that? Explains some of the palpable tension in the staff. Despite this, I still rated 4 stars because it's such a romantic date spot and a bad meal here still beats a good meal just about anywhere else. read more

We went to Palisade on April 16, for our 11 year wedding anniversary. The restaurant's own website says they were doing restaurant week. We chose the restaurant for our Anniversary dinner because of the restaurant week menu. The website menu CLEARLY said "Restaurant Week April 3 - 16, 3 courses, $65 per person." When we were ready to order, we told our waiter we would like to order off of the restaurant week menu. He said it wasn't available that day. I pulled up their website on my phone and showed him the dates. He laughed and said, "Oh yeah, someone made a mistake and the restaurant just never fixed it. We aren't doing it tonight. I had several tables all come in for that and we aren't honoring it." My response: "But I am showing you on your restaurant's website that it says it goes through April 16. And it is April 16." So someone made a mistake, the restaurant knew about it discussed it and decided to leave the "mistake" menu up on their website and then when people asked about it, they chose not to honor it. Who does business like that??? Palisade - that's who. So instead of a $130 for dinner plus our drinks, tax and tip, we paid $300. Take your business elsewhere. read more

This place is beautiful! We were looking for a restaurant with views, good drinks, and a classy atmosphere. It did not disappoint. Service was top-notch and my husbands steak was incredible. (Delmonico) I'm not crazy on steak, but WOW!! The sauce for the oysters had such a unique flavor. You can definitely tell the chef knows what their doing. We definitely splurged for our meal, (appetizer, meals, and cocktails) but this poor teacher can say it was well worth it. I can't wait for my birthday so I have an excuse to come back. I'm so sorry but this type of service from a restaurant of this tier is totally unacceptable. My family ate here for dinner and were pretty happy with their experience. The disappointment was when they ordered food and desert to take home. My family ordered the crème brûlée to go and they really just plopped the dessert into a to-go container as shown in the picture. This is incredible laziness from a restaurant like this. I'm sure if you don't have a suitable container for the food you should inform people that it is not available for a to-go order. The Seafood Trio was good--not amazing but good. The server was just OK and a bit impatient. We were a group of seven so, of course, some people took longer than others. One thing that discouraged some of us is that she said it was house policy not to recommend any particular wine. They were out of the bottle we wanted so we asked her about something comparable and she couldn't or wouldn't give us any ideas. This place deserves more than 5 stars! We came here on a Wednesday night and celebrated our anniversary. I used open table to make the reservation and I wrote down the occasion. So here's the neat outline of this review.. 5 star for customer service, we were greeted "happy anniversary" by the attendant on the check-in counter, plus, they decorated the table we had by the window with a personalized card and rose petals. (So sweet!) while waiting for our appetizer, they served warm bread with butter on the side. And since we have some plans after the dinner and we are so full, we did not order dessert, however, they gave us a free brownie which was decorated and candle-lit! Thank you, again 5 star for the taste! My husband had the surf and turf and I had the two way salmon for the main entree, but we had ahi tuna roll for our appetizer. The ebiko and the tuna are super fresh!! The ginger on the side is subtle on palate. The surf and turf is a mix of meat and seafood. The prime rib that comes with it is warm enough and tender! The radish sauce is perfect! Not too strong but subtle in taste. The salmon is perfectly cooked and fresh! (This is my most favorite part) the greens that comes along with it is a perfect match! 5 star for the portion, hmmm I guess this is debatable for others. We are asians with big appetite and the serving made us so full! So, 5 star for us. 5 star for the location and view. We came here on a weekday, so no traffic in downtown seattle, plus the place seems so intimate since there are only few people. (I bet, weekends are pretty busy). Such a letdown! I wish that you could give 1/2 stars because this is a solid 2 1/2 star restaurant. We visited Palisade a few years ago for dinner with extended family and had a wonderful meal, and an overall exceptional experience. As we entered COVID Phase II for dinner, we decided to go out for a nice dinner close to home and settled on Palisade. Big mistake. After tonight we, sadly, won't be returning - though the restaurant is very close to our home in Magnolia. The good: The views are stunning. 180+ degree water views cannot be beat. Beautiful restaurant interior, they still have the stream-like pond with the little walkway over it. The seasonal salad with goat cheese and strawberries was delicious The mediocre: The sirloin was tough - I practically had to saw through it Potatoes were underwhelming and - seemingly unseasoned The caramel corn sundae was a blah "standard" sundae - they was MAYBE one crunched-up piece of caramel corn in the dish. No linens on the tables. This may be COVID related so, perhaps, future diners will have tablecloths and not be dining on sad looking scuffed up tables. Menu was *much* more limited than the prior menu (and a sheet of paper rather than a more upscale menu). This may be COVID related as well. We felt like something was up with the restaurant as soon as our food arrived and it paled in comparison to our prior meal. We started googling if there had been a change of ownership, literally, at the table. Sure enough, the restaurant was sold in October of 2019. When evaluating if this is where you would like to dine, look at the reviews from November 2019 and later - there are literally hundreds of reviews from the many years when this was another - much better - restaurant. We'll stick to Daniel's or John Howie for steak and my husband can get seafood at one of the countless superior seafood restaurants in the area. Palisade is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is always amazing, the service wonderful, and the atmosphere calm. This visit I went all out on seafood, as you do at Palisade. We started with the Palisade's Chilled Seafood Tower with King Crab Legs. It included lobster, king crab, kumamoto oysters, jumbo prawns, and ahi poke. Everything was so delicious. I had as much as I could of each (unfortunately I had to share!) and I enjoyed every bite. The Kung Pao Calamari was unique. It had a kick to it that was really good. I have not had calamari like that before and I really liked it. The Hearts of Romaine Caesar with anchovies was next. It was very tasty. The only downside was the dressing felt lacking at times, but only because it was not on top, it was on the plate. It was still very delicious and the anchovies were amazing. Since I could not make my mind up, I split the Dungeness Crab Colossal Prawns and Center-Cut Filet Mignon with my mom. Usually I am not much of a fan of béarnaise sauce, but I enjoyed the sauce on the Colossal Prawns dish. I also loved the fregola. I am not sure that I have ever had that type of pasta before and it was probably my favorite part of the dish. The Filet Mignon was delicious as always. Perfectly cooked inside. The sauce was just okay for me personally. Everything else was just so delicious that it did not matter. The mashed potatoes were perfection. For dessert, I ordered the Hazelnut Bread Pudding. I am not really a hazelnut fan, but bread pudding is my absolute favorite, so I could not resist. The bread pudding was amazing--warm and soft. The maple poached pears were awesome. I could not finish it all because I was already so full! I cannot wait to go to Palisade again! Accessibility: Palisade is generally accessible. The accessible parking is limited and does not include extra space. However, there is valet. The restaurant has stairs throughout, but a ramp through the service area. Noise is never an issue here. Lighting at night could be as it the lighting tends to be low. There are some half-booths. No high tables. Half the chairs have arms, half do not. There are a variety of seating options throughout the restaurant, so it should not be an issue. Make sure to mention what you would like when you make a reservation. You should make reservations here. The washrooms are accessible. The lobby has comfy couch chairs that are generally a bit wider. The atmosphere here is calm, so it is very good for people who are crowd and noise-adverse. read more

Went there with my wife on a Sunday night. The atmosphere decor and view are incredible. The waiter was very helpful. The lobster bisque was average and on the salty side. I wanted to try the seafood Trio but I was told all out. I tried the shrimp stuffed crab with couscous. The meat was chewy and there was a red tomato sauce the was surprisingly spicy as that was not in the description. It was above my comfort level. My wife got the seafood pasta. It was average overall as far as the pasta sauce and pasta quality and had few shrimps and tomato chunks. We ordered dessert. The cheesecake covered with caramel was the star! Thick Carmel sauce on a rich dense cheesecake slice. Yummy! The cream brûlée was average at best. Overall great place to come and enjoy the view. Palisade is everything I've ever heard and more! While they're famous for their brunch, we decided to stop by for dinner during restaurant week. Before dinner, we got HH drinks and ceviche tacos. They were light and delicious and the perfect pre-dinner snack. For our RW experience, we got wine and beer flights to go with our dinner selections. It was such a nice touch and each pairing perfectly complimented our food. The smoked salmon dip was amazing and full of salmon flavor! I'm not sure if there was any cream cheese in it, it didn't taste like it so I was happy! Of our two entrees, surf and turf and steelhead, the steelhead honestly took the cake! The flavor was phenomenal and 10/10 would order again! Unfortunately, the restaurant lost power before we got our dessert, but everyone was very professional and honestly we enjoyed the rest of our (now fully candlelit) wine evening! Served me gluten after I specifically talked to the staff about being allergic, had to leave the restaurant to go to UC for allergic reaction... they didn't care and took the item off my bill. Ugh. Even though I have been here a ton of times, I had never made it for brunch. I've done Salty's a few times and thought they are pretty pricey for a mid day meal. Palisade's clears out the bar area and creates a buffet for you to get your groove on. Breakfast foods (like hash, bacon), along with prime rib, paella, crab legs, mussels....and in the lower landing, desserts...festoon the bar. Honestly, I thought it was pretty good and it's cheaper than Salty's. I might have to come again on a weekend. read more

I visited as part of a large group. Overall a major disappointment as they were totally unprepared for this event. Salad was mediocre. Main course was duck with a single Brussel sprout and a single potato (even though the menu called for multiple of each). Others had salmon which looked like a decent portion although severely overcooked. The gastric was tasty but the entire plate was cold as it had been sitting out for a while. It took an hour to serve a glass of wine, so enjoyed water with my food. Most people had empty glasses throughout dinner. There were simply not enough wait staff and they were focused on the wrong things like topping off half full glasses of water instead of getting people their wine and drinks. It's now 2 am and I cannot sleep as I am very hungry after a ridiculously small amount of food. On a positive note, the view was very good. read more

Portion size of my prime rib was considerably smaller than advertised I sent it back and got another which was almost identical. Service was good. Molly made an effort and it was appreciated. We were sat quickly which was also nice. Good job by the hostess crew. Bread pudding was awesome and probably the best part of my dinner. Creme Brule was the worst I've ever tasted. It should not have been served as it was runny. The biggest fail was from the company charging 5% extra on top of gratuity. The Mignonette Sauce was super fresh with good red wine flavor, shallots and sweet onion. Dinner: My husband had filet with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Everything was cook perfect. Potatos crispy, salty and fluffy on the inside m. Steak cook perfect medium rare little char from the grill. Asparagus cooked Al dente. I ordered the sake marinated black code my recommendation of by servers. The ginger sauce was incredible the marinated zucchini were creat. My cod was seared to hard so was cooked perfect in the middle but over on the outside and I had one piece of mushroom on my plate. The server was so amazing they offered to remake it right away but I declined as I was way to getting full and wanted to leave room for dessert. I would definitely order again as I know they would make it perfectly. Dessert: We didn't order dessert they sent two on the house ( was so surprised). The chocolate torte was divine very rich but the tart raspberry sauce cut some of the richness. The staff put a candle in dessert for us for our anniversary was very sweet and an awesome touch to make us feel special. The crème brûlée was our favorite crispy slightly burnt taste, rich silky vanilla custard was so yummy and one of our favorite desserts to get. Definitely would order again Overall we loved our experience even with a tiny hiccup. I would definitely go back. The staff was so amazing. AMBIANCE It's right on the marina, perfect sunset views, excellent service, valet if you need it, great interior design. I love the little bridge by the fish tanks. FOOD We came here this time for the SRW menu which is a preset 3 course dinner for $35 per person. The Salmon Dip was great. Not too wet, but not too dry either. I just wish there was more of the potato bread to eat it with. The Surf and Turf was honestly the best part of the meal. Especially at its price too. They have it on the lunch menu for $20. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the shrimps had a great grill flavor. While the cut of sirloin isn't the best you can find, it's a great value considering the price. The veal demi-glace was a great acidic cut to the buttery and creamy mashed potatoes and protein. The gelato was a close second. I love a good vanilla bean, and this just hit the spot for me. The consistency was a little thicker on the plate but would melt instantly in your mouth. The crumble at the bottom provided a great contrasting texture. OVERALLGreat date night spot if you want to impress someone. The food and service are always spot on. It's a nice walk around the marina too when it's not freezing outside. read more

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here with the Sunday buffet. They put rose petals and a card on our table. We appreciated that. Very sweet! We tried our best, but was not able to try all the dishes between the two of us. We would say the sushi was our least favorite. It was the only dish that was not up to par.The fresh prepared egg benedict was a very nice touch. I made mine even better by peeling some crab legs first and then added the meat to my egg. Yum! Be sure to grab your favorite desert in advanced if you are in this place closer to 2pm. I missed out on the creme brûlée today because I was too relaxed about this. I am sure it was the 10 dollars bottomless mimosas' fault, but I was still very happy regardless! read more

Went here for boyfriends birthday dinner. Thought we'd love it much more than I did. The food was great, and was excellent quality, but they weren't very unique. The food isn't screaming for me to come back, but it was still good. I think a lot of what you pay for is the views and the ambience, which is also fine. We ordered a variety of seafood dishes - and had the scallops as our main course. The portions were surprisingly big, for this kind of restaurant. We came to celebrate my birthday and brought my family who is not used to fine dining so this was going to be a great experience for them. Until it wasn't. Service was very slow and it wasn't that busy. Food came out and they placed each dish to the wrong person so we had to shift. We asked for the sushi to have no tobiko and both dishes came out with it. We returned it and asked again. The server then came over and noticed we didn't have our sushi (she wasn't the one to deliver) well after the rest of us were eating our plates. The sushi comes back with one dish w/o tobiko and the second with tobiko. We were so annoyed at this point we just said forget it. We had to ask for water refills constantly. We ordered cocktails and it took about 30 minutes to bring out - the bar was backed up apparently?! Whenever I asked for something, the people were so annoyed, mind you our server barely came around so we asked anyone. Lastly, we wanted a group photo. Okay, it's getting busier we get it. But the hostess was so rude and asked another person "can you please take a photo of them because I don't have time.." so rude and condescending. Finally our server saw us, since we asked her if she could take a photo and she asked me if we were done with our bill - my SO paid cash. I said yes and she was not happy and said "you can ask anyone around to take a photo." And walked away. I then realized the tip wasn't to her liking maybe but come on?! Horrible service, bland food and bad experience. We won't go back. Also, the mushrooms - really? They tasted as if they were cooked in a dirty cast iron pan. read more
