I'd like to do a review that's more than "just go here," but "just go here." This bakery has a huge variety of fresh Mexican pastries and cookies as well as some coffee, drinks, and a few breakfast items if you get there earlier enough. Everything is good, you can't go wrong going here. But I might as well say more. First the pastries are great. They're done right, not oversweet, very fresh (clearly they know how to stock properly) and what variety. There are puerquitos, cookies, conchas, and pretty much anything you can want. My wife and I have often gone here to get sweets for a party or just for dessert! But don't sleep on the breakfast. I've tried their breakfast burrito, which is basically an egg burrito, and it's done right. Eggs prepared properly, firm, not greasy, excellently done. The staff is always friendly. Just be sure to bring cash as that's all they take. An absolute must-visit. Plus the complex they're in has great restaurants and markets too! read more

We had just had dinner at Barbecue Pit nearby and wanted to pick up something sweet on the way home. We walked into this place, and there were a ton of treats, two cases of them! I selected a few things that I promptly forgot the names of. Both were really good, very fresh, and not overly sweet! I also noticed that they sell tortas and breakfast burritos, so I will have to come back for that. We got three things and it was only $8, so it's very reasonably priced. I don't think there's really a place to sit and eat, more of a grab and go. There's enough parking and there are 30 minute spaces right in front. read more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I moved to this area and found this place that is close to my daughter's dance class. I finally stopped by and let me tell you this place is so authentic and delicious! The tamales are perfect, the bread that perfect hint of sweet. I will be back to try more items. Best of all they sell fresh bolillo and teleras! There was a line when I got there but the cashier got through it pretty quickly. Growing up in east San Jose I've had my share of pan Dulce. Before COVID I used to make deliveries at Bills cafe next door and would stop in right when they would open in the mornings. let me tell you what a treat it was to be able to get the pan right as it came out of the oven. I grew up on East side San Jose, where there were plenty of panaderias near me, so I was a little hesitant trying this place. A couple of years ago, a relative bought some for us to try, and it's been one of my top favorites in SJ. I even had some ordered for my baby shower just so I can share my favorite pan with my family. I usually come in the mornings and I'm greeted right away. I'm in and out in just a couple minutes. What a great little spot. I am typically not a fan of the Panaderias but this one is different. I was eager to try their champorado which multiple reviews were raving about. Sadly, they were out and I got the hot chocolate which was different and very good. The cupcake was moist and tasty, not too sweet. The lady who helped me was super nice. So yummy! My first time visiting a Mexican bakery and I will def come back. I ordered a white concha and hot chocolate and my boyfriend got a large pink swirled pastry. I wish I could have had a better experience. The lady working was so rude. I came in because my friend really missed eating conchas from her home town in Mexico and I told her I'd bring her some. I've always known about this place because I live close by but never stopped in. I saw the great reviews and was a bit hesitant to come because it wasn't on the east side. Wasn't sure if the reviews were biased if you know what I mean. In any case, I stopped in since it was a 2 minute drive versus a 15-20 minute drive to the east side. Everything looked great and I could have been fooled I was on the east side and not in Almaden Valley. All I wanted was some help and suggestions on what else to get besides the typical chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla conchas. She was of no help and seem irritated and wanted me to just get in and out. Sure I understand that there may be a few other people waiting to order but I was there at the moment and buying a few, not just one or two. Being nice goes a long way. Now I may never come back. I'm looking for new tamale place for holidays. This place is bit out of the way for me in Evergreen. First tried my favorite Rajos, cheese with jalapeño. They barely had any cheese and even less jalapeño...so I'm disappointed! Now tried chicken tamales, which are better, maybe on dry side. I was so happy to find a Panederia on this side of town! I grew up with many around me and I missed this delicious pan since moving to this side of town. I came in recently to buy some pan de muerto for dia de Los muertos but I was a day too late and they ran out. But I still left with some delicious pan to eat and for my altar. I've been here several times, trying their breakfast burritos, their tortas, and their pan (Mexican pastries). Every time I've enjoyed the food. Granted, none of these are the best version I've ever had, but they are all good. I don't think anyone would be disappointed. If you're new to the Mexican pastry world, you're in a for a big treat here. The variety, the colors, the shapes - everything is different. A lot of things may seem new, so my advice is just keep trying everything. Yes, everything. You're supporting a local business, you'll probably like most of them, and you can always go walk 7 or 8 miles to burn off the carbs and sugar. Anyway, my favorite is called "elote", and it's a medium-sweet type of pastry, long and tapered at both ends. Ask for one and see if you don't like it, although be warned you'll get sugar everywhere you eat it. Conchas are another popular one, although I'm not that fond of them. Mantecado, which is like thick bread covered in butter and sugar, is another tasty option. The only downside is that the tortas and burritos are only served in the morning, so if you want them, come early. Otherwise, the pastries are served all day. The parking is pretty easy here, the lot is only medium sized but it's not that busy of a shopping center. read more

I felt like getting some sweet bread for my sweetheart at home. So I decided to YELP it out before I came and found this little bakery on the strip of South San Jose. They had two ladies working, one up in the front and one in the back. Looked like a mom and daughter. The bread is fresh. They have Tamales and the famous Champurrado available and they also make the infamous Mexican Tortas. They were all operating under COVID protocol and masks and distances were required like all of the places in AMERICA. I have been to 4 different places,. they are on my reviews. Delicious pan dulche. Amazing tamales. Super kind staff. They have almost any type of Mexican pastry you can think of. The tamales are a good size and delicious. Masa is very moist! They also have lingua, which my son will always choose. Hopefully the owners of the shopping center will make some improvements - better parking lot and update the facades and lighting, because Panderia Gudiño is probably going to continue to bring good business to that center! smell of rat urine coming from the back. there was a lady in the front who looked like she was half asleep and didnt speak English or even try a little so I had to speak and try to understand her. I ordered about (8) pieces of pan dulce, (2) Carne Asada Tortas, (1) Pork Tamale, (1) Chicken Tamale they charge extra for sour cream. It came out to be almost $40.00 The bread was not stale at all. We drove eight hours home and we all loved it! Both tamales were hot and fresh out of the pot. Both super flavorful. I don't recommend the sour cream. They were so good on that chilly morning.
