Do not even shop here. They are racist & mean.

DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE!!! After fixing my flat tire in front of this place I was hungry. I walked in to purchase a fresh pastry and a worker noticed that I had something in my hand that might be a small piece of trash. He told me to go to the dumpster at the end of the block. I responded, "ok but I'd like to buy some food." He replied, "we don't have food, the trash is down the street". I replied, "the sign says Panaderia and it looks like you're selling food here." He continued being rude until I asked again, "isn't this a food establishment???" Even though I spoke perfect Spanish, I am over 6' tall and white so I guess I am not welcome here. DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE!!!

I have been coming here since 2010. This is the best panadería as the name says it la mejor. The conchas are very appetizing, especially the chocolate ones. As you bite into the soft bread, your taste buds will feel like if they were in heaven. The sweet taste will make you feel at home. La chocolate Abuelita is the best homemade drink, for when it's cold outside. This is authentic Mexican sweet bread. Los bolillos de jalapeño y crema de queso son muy deliciosos y hace agua a la boca. Definitivamente, recomiendo esta pastelería/panadería.

If you love sourdough, you NEED to come here…read more First things first: prepare yourself for the line. Sometimes it's 10-15 minutes, sometimes you might be out there for 30. And yes... you're waiting OUTSIDE. So during this Santa Ana heat, come prepared. Umbrella? Portable fan? Ice cubes in your pockets? At this point, do what you gotta do. But once you make it inside... it sooo worth it. The Heirloom Bluecorn Masa Sourdough is absolutely amazing. It has that beautiful purple/violet color (im color blind so dont trust my color perception haha) inside and such a unique flavor. If you're a sourdough person, this is the loaf you need to try..Their baguettes are also ..crispy on the outside, soft inside, and dangerously easy to finish. They also sell French butter, which I took home and put on my eggs, and apparently I live in Paris now. Seriously dough ()... SO good. I haven't tried their drinks yet, but that just gives me an excuse to come back..which I definitely will. Bottom line: if you call yourself a sourdough fan and haven't been here yet... we need to have a conversation Amazing bread. Worth the wait. Just remember the sunscreen.

Heirloom Bluecorn Masa Sourdough - I think this one grew on me. There's something peculiar about the subtle sweetness from the masa dough. The more I ate it with French butter, the more I realized how well they worked together. Rosemary Focaccia - Very good. Nice, soft, and airy with a lovely scent of rosemary. My favorite of the bunch. Sundried Tomato Oaxacan Cheese Croissant - This was surprisingly good. I was kind of skeptical when I saw tomato and cheese and expected something more like a pizza flavor. Boy, was I wrong. It had a surprisingly good and interesting flavor, with a strong tomato taste combined with the cheese and flaky pastry crust. Would definitely get this again. Ube Cruffin - This was an interesting pastry and definitely a must-try. Unfortunately, it was a miss for me since I'm not really a sweet pastry person, and I found it overly sweet. The added whipped cream was a bit overkill for me.

I ordered this durian cake for our anniversary, and wow... it's easily the best cake I've ever had…read more If you love real durian, you'll love this cake. The cream is super smooth and filled with actual durian pulp--no artificial flavor at all. The sponge is so light and fluffy that it almost melts in your mouth, and it pairs perfectly with the rich, fruity durian cream. I already love fresh durian and durian ice cream, but this was my first time trying a durian cake, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The 6-inch cake was $68, so it's definitely a treat, but I'd happily buy it again. Just make sure to order a few days ahead. The service was amazing too. Since it was our anniversary, they added a cute "Happy Anniversary" sign to the cake at no extra charge. When we picked it up, they even reminded us to head straight home because the summer heat could affect the cake. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their cakes and want customers to enjoy them at their best. Definitely coming back to try more flavors!

The old adage "You can't judge a book by its cover," is true here. This place looks forgotten, ignored, unassuming, but produces the finest bakery items in Orange County. You enter and have to immediately get into a line. Inside, it is like a aged cafeteria of your childhood. You have to wait for a young lady who can't even look over the top of the counter because there is so much stuff piled high. She stands on tip toes to see you and you have to shout at her and point what you want. The problem is when she sees you, you are near the cash register, so you must say excuse me and walk in front of a line of people to point and shout out what you want. It is so poorly designed and complicated to order. We all endure because like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld, the product is worth it. They sell the world's best Olive bread, scones, and strawberry crossants. If you survive the line, you make it to the cash register, pay, get a bag and leave. There is no where to sit. There is no internet. They shuffle you through and on to the next one. The pastry items are incredible and worth the trouble.

Absolutely phenomenal. Great flavor. The whipped cream is slightly too sweet but amazing otherwise. Love the red bean in here. There's a good mix of textures. Feels light thanks to the cream. Cream puff: 6/10. Was disappointed by this to be honest. Other pastries I've tried like the one in the photo are just okay. Nothing stand out. Customer service isn't great. Someone cut in front of me and they didn't care. Free parking and plenty of it since it's a large plaza.

Usually parking here isn't too bad if you're staying for less than an hour and easy to walk over to the dessert shop. Baked Banhs is located in the 4th street food market, one of the first shops you'll see if you're coming from the parking lot. Note the hours before you come (for instance, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays). And note that they seem to usually sell out of certain items by the days end. We've tried a number of different items here now including four of their canelés and their basque cheesecake. The cheesecake was solid. But we really loved their canelés. They are soft/moist on the inside with a nice crunch. And the different flavors really come through. Our favorite is the black sesame - not only is there black sesame peppered on the top but also in the center with a nice black sesame cream. It's so good and delicious. Four canelés cost $16 and thought they were well worth the price. Again, it's so sad to hear that Baked Banhs is closing soon so if you're a fan of canelés or other desserts, recommended to come sooner than later to try this out! We really hope they reopen again elsewhere or do a lot of pop-ups soon.
