I really wanted to like this place with all the good reviews about their cakes! I ordered an 8in tres leche for a family christmas party. I wish they took orders over the phone bc I had to drive there just to place an order (They dont accept payment over the phone). It was $29 for an 8in cake which I think is such a good price!! One of the ladies walked me through flavor, design, occasion, pick up date etc. It was a little hard to understand her when she asked about some options for the order but she was super nice and helpful. I paid in full and picked up the cake a week later! A week later I came by to pick up the cake and also picked up a palmier and this other pastry filled with cream! Palmier was really good but the other pastry was a little burnt and the cream wasnt a smooth texture. The biggest bummer was the cake! I was sooo happy with the pretty christmas design. All of my family was so excited to try the tres leche cake! Unfortunately when we cut into it, it wasnt a tres leche cake at all. It seemed to be maybe a vanilla sponge with some strawberry cream filling. If the cake was good, I probably wouldnt have minded the mistake as much... However the cake was too dry and the strawberry filling was a little too jelly-like which I didnt enjoy much. It wasnt a horrible cake... But given it was the wrong cake and just ok, it was pretty disappointing...

    $5 tres leche cake

We were on the search for tres leche and this spot is open an hour later than other area bakeries. They don't have it by the slice, but their smallest cake isn't expensive at 5 bucks so we got that. Service was great, just wish there was a table on their floor space to have ate inside instead of our car. The bottom layer was perfectly soaked and overall I enjoyed it.

    Tres Leches cake. So delicious!

The tres leches cake is so good! The circular one is only $15 and big enough to feed 12-16. The employees there are also super friendly. They can write a message on the cake for you and when they heard us talking about star wars, offered to give us some star wars toy rings as toppers on the cake. I brought this to a party and so many people asked me where I got the cake.

    Moca tres leches

My first Moca tres leches! I came looking for a tres leches cake for my husband's birthday but all the tres leches had a very feminine decor. When I said it was for a guy, they showed me some with blue roses... I decided to go for something else. Service was excellent, he was very friendly and even opened one of the individual slices they sell so I could taste it for free and even offered me to take it home. Although it was not as moist and sweet as the traditional tres leches, it was good and had a strong coffee flavor which is the other thing my husband loves so it worked out. The parking lot can feel a bit ghetto but it's a small store so you just go in an out quickly...

Best place! I've been coming to this Bakery since I was a kid and I still drive the 40 minutes it takes to get here from where I live now. I use to live a block away! For so many years I thought this was part of El Toro and after 34 years, I just found out it isn't, lol! What an embarrassment on my part. Regardless, this has always been my go to place for birthday cakes, pan dulce and gelatinas! They are very popular and have a huge following. They bake all day long and they sell out all day long.

    Unanswered calls from bakery

I ordered this durian cake for our anniversary, and wow... it's easily the best cake I've ever had…read more If you love real durian, you'll love this cake. The cream is super smooth and filled with actual durian pulp--no artificial flavor at all. The sponge is so light and fluffy that it almost melts in your mouth, and it pairs perfectly with the rich, fruity durian cream. I already love fresh durian and durian ice cream, but this was my first time trying a durian cake, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The 6-inch cake was $68, so it's definitely a treat, but I'd happily buy it again. Just make sure to order a few days ahead. The service was amazing too. Since it was our anniversary, they added a cute "Happy Anniversary" sign to the cake at no extra charge. When we picked it up, they even reminded us to head straight home because the summer heat could affect the cake. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their cakes and want customers to enjoy them at their best. Definitely coming back to try more flavors!

I got a few cake slices for my brother since he doesn't eat a full cake and they were very fluffy and moist. Not too sweet and very easy on the stomach. The staff was very nice and welcoming. We are…read moreso sad we didn't get to come visit until quite recently. :( We parked in the nearby parking lot on 4th street. Usually parking here isn't too bad if you're staying for less than an hour and easy to walk over to the dessert shop. Baked Banhs is located in the 4th street food market, one of the first shops you'll see if you're coming from the parking lot. Note the hours before you come (for instance, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays). And note that they seem to usually sell out of certain items by the days end. We've tried a number of different items here now including four of their canelés and their basque cheesecake. The cheesecake was solid. But we really loved their canelés. They are soft/moist on the inside with a nice crunch. And the different flavors really come through. Our favorite is the black sesame - not only is there black sesame peppered on the top but also in the center with a nice black sesame cream. It's so good and delicious. Four canelés cost $16 and thought they were well worth the price. Again, it's so sad to hear that Baked Banhs is closing soon so if you're a fan of canelés or other desserts, recommended to come sooner than later to try this out! We really hope they reopen again elsewhere or do a lot of pop-ups soon.
