Their Surf & Turf burrito here is really good, and I'm basing my review off of that. I've been coming here ever since I was at SWC, so 2007. The chipotle mayo that they serve with the Surf & Turf is amazing, but it also depends on which cook is on duty. My experience is in the evening the food is better. They have updated their menu to include TJ style tacos (like the ones served at El Poblanos and Tacos El Gordo) for fairly cheap and they're also pretty good. Open til midnight on Thursdays to appease the Thirsty Thursday crowds, and open til 3am Fri & Sat. Hubby and I were pleasantly surprised! Actually shocked it was so good. We are usually Lolitas snobs but since Lolitas keeps raising their prices and since they are way farther, we've been slumming it with los primos (the one by albertsons not Trader Joes...never the one by Trader Joes) Also, on days when Lolitas is too busy we go to cotijas across the street (bonita rd). This is definitely our new spot. I really hope they're consistent. Hubby got a wet carne asada burrito (wet=covered in enchilada sauce) and I got a basic bean, cheese and rice burrito. Wow...their enchilada sauce is genius! Next time I'll have to get it on my burrito. Its only 99cents extra and its definitely worth it. Also, ALL of their salsas are on point, even the green one is bomb! My favorite is the darker/chipotle one-Its almost as good as poblano's chipotle sauce. The bill cam out to about $13. I went to this place on march 22 2018. Thursday at 11:50 the sign said closes at 12:00 and the neon lights on showing opened. When I went to the door it was locked two workers there were cleaning up getting ready to leave I knocked on the door they ignored me and I pointed to their sign to show them they were still open and the lady there pointed to me as to hold on I thought she would let me in instead she turned off the light and they just looked at me like I was stupid . I will never go back to this place but they don't care anyway. I just wish not to go to a place that does not stand by what they say their hours of operation is . I came here having the mind set that nothing was going to beat a fish burrito from Rolando's at Paradise Valley Rd but this place did it . I was here two days ago and yesterday as well and had two different experiences. The earlier day, the cashier was nice. It took awhile for me to get my burrito but there was quite a crowd so that's excusable. The fish they use in the burrito was so much better than anywhere else that I have tasted but then I felt that it was missing something, like a sauce or any kind of flavor; the fish in itself was really good but the burrito as a whole was a little bland after awhile. The next day, it was a different lady at the cashier. She didn't even say anything to me, no 'Hello' or 'What would you like.' She just looked at me and I ordered. This time the burrito only took maybe 2-3 minutes to come out. It was better than the previous one as it had sauce in it that gave the burrito some flavor other than the fish. It. Was. Awesome. They have a salsa bar. It has three red sauces, a green one, some sliced lemons and some sliced radishes, I think it was. I tried all three of the red salsas. They tasted fresh, it had good flavoring and each had a distinct taste. None were too hot either, which is cool because I look for flavoring in my salsa more than I do it's hotness. read more

First, get the Angus Chipotle Burrito. It is the best burrito in San Diego. In fact, I don't really eat burritos anymore unless it is this one. The fact that it has pieces of BACON makes it so succulent and delicious, and it is a MUST have! Everything else I have tried here is amazing. If your in the mood for fish, get the fried mojarra, it is spectacular. Also has the best salsa bar: 4 types of salsa, pickled onions with habanero, roasted jalapeños and "chile hueros." This place has great customer service. My friend had a problem with their burrito, and they changed it right away! I think its a hit or miss here it all depends on who's cooking that day I've noticed sometimes my burritos are made with love and other times I find a bunch of grease at the bottom of my burrito and the meats is sometimes just okay. This is a great neighborhood taco shop. I had the Angus chipotle burrito and It was great.The service was fast and efficient. Menu seems to have a great variety of options I was impressed with the quality and their salsas are great. For the price, portions should be slightly bigger. What's great about this place is the surf and turf. Had my first surf and turf dish here some years ago (surf and turf burrito) and I fell in love. Their variation of the surf and turf fries isn't bad at all. They can be very inconsistent with the taste which is not pleasant, too much of something.. too little of something, things missing. They do have a unique menu with different types of burritos you don't see at many taco shops as well as some homestyle cooking dishes. They offer a student college discount with an ID. Many people go here during the late night hours because they do stay open late especially fri-sun. I advise calling ahead of time if you're cutting it close to closing time within 1 hour. There have been a handful of times me and my friends would show up 1 hour or less to closing time and they would have already locked up shop! read more

Los Panchos has the best potato rolled tacos my mouth has ever tasted. So my gf & i as well as my significant other came to this place to get some SD Cali mexi food. My gf asked another random patron for a PLASTIC KNIFE to cut her burrito in half...because she friendly and asked nicely and they were standing right there. He "misheard" and brought a lime and for some reason it as misconstrued and these two teenagers wanted to fight my BF over it! No bias, but they literally threw the first punch over it... OVER A PLASTIC KNIFE! So it went outside, my gf tried to stop it and i ram inside to get the cops called. The chick inside the shop called and the cops actually came within 5 minutes, 3 cars. This was my first visit here and when I walked in the girl at the counter said hi, but in a "what do you want?" kind of hi. The "why must you come disrupt my talk with the cook?" kind of hi. I sat down at a table to wait and I noticed it, and other tables around me had bits of chips, guacamole, and carne asada on them from previous guests... but now there was only me and one other person in there but it was apparent that nobody was in a hurry to clean the tables. Finally my burrito is ready but I wouldnt have known if I hadnt heard her place it on the counter because she didn't announce my order was ready and instead turned her back on me so that she could continue chatting. Sooo I get home and guess what... I find that they made me one of the most delicious burritos I've had in a long time. So, burrito = 5 STARS, Bored, lame worker and filthy tables= -3 STARS. Worst customers service , so I walk in and I checked both the Yelp and Google hours . They both said 3:00AM on Friday night . I pull up to the place, the sign is flashing bright "OPEN" door was unlocked , walk in and I hear a lady say. "We are closed. All of our machines stopped working. " I asked , "all your machines stopped working?" She says yes they all just stopped working when you walked in. I drove from Eastlake since they are the only Mexican food place that's open late near Eastlake. Or claim to be open late lol the lady was extremely rude and told me that she wouldn't take my order and I mentioned to her that she might want to turn off their sign and she said "oh well" I will never go to this place ever again whether it be day time or night time since this is the second time a situation like this has happened . The point that the lady didn't care that it was an inconvenience to me I will never care to eat there again just like she didn't care that I drove there at 2:30 AM. I highly recommend not wasting your time on his place and eat at any other place especially LOLITAS OR COTIJAS. Pretty much anywhere else lol. Hope it's helpful . read more
