I missed carne asada. Last visit home, I frequented the taco shop around the corner by Ralph's. They were my first stop after picking up the rental car from the airport. Priorities. Don't judge. So I went here looking for a Taco Tuesday deal. Negative. They only offered $1.75 fish tacos. Since I'm there, I opt for some taquitos. I'm the only person in the place so maybe that should have been my first hint. I get the taquitos to go and I'm eating them in my car when I realize they're stuffed with RICE. It was $5+ for 3 of these RICE taquitos...what in the actual eff am I eating? The "beef" part was non-existent. I'm surprised to see not so great reviews. I've been coming here since high school. I'm 36 and still make my trips down to this side of Chula Vista. I live in Eastlake and the los panchos there isn't so great. Now I can't speak for all the food here so this is solely based off the items I've ordered. The first being chilaquiles red sauce. We order this almost every time we come here. The sauce is a perfect blend of spice not too spicy for those with low tolerance for spice. The next is carnitas plate with flour tortilla. The portion of carnitas is more than you can ask for and it comes with two large tortillas so you can make several carnitas tacos of course I never share. The rice and beans are great too, my husband doesn't agree with the rice as he doesn't like when vegetables are in rice. The other order is the kids quesadilla meal. Our son loves the portion size of quesadilla and orders fries as his side. The quality is great and I always find myself picking at his food. We also enjoy their California burrito, it's flavorful and the meat is something I always enjoy. I recently ordered their carne asada entree and again portion size is enough to make other tacos. I also ordered it with flour tortillas. Lastly we always pair it with a glass coke and jarritos tamarindo or orange flavor, so good! Nothing beats cane sugar! One thing I would change here is customer service when answering phone. When you place an order they never ask for a name and hang up quickly so we're always worried if our food will get mixed up. So far it hasn't happened, but a simple "May I get your name" would ease our worry. I also appreciate the covid safety measures, it makes us feel safe. If you stop by I highly suggest the plates we ordered, so far they haven't done us wrong! read more

Whomever the Cook was (he was a younger guy) on July 28th, 2019 at 12:00 PM is an absolute thief! I frequent this establishment on the weekdays and am most satisfied with the cost, proportionate to the size of the serving. However, on this day, the size of my Burrito was 1/3 the size it normally is; and keep this in mind the Burrito cost close to $10 ($9.78 to be exact with tax). Now it really doesn't matter what type of item this was, but rather the inconsistency to which this establishment imposes on its unsuspecting customers. That item I paid for was worth maybe $1. Located in the 7*11 strip across from Southwestern, the food is consistently good, service is quick, and prices are reasonable. They offer a student discount and stay open late. The burritos are big. Flavors are great. We love the salsa that is kind of chunky and you can visibly distinguish the cilantro. We also love the purple onions from the salsa bar. Have the surf and turf fries tonight. First the two girls at the counter were too busy on their social medias that they forgot to include my sons order. Then My son ordered a carne asada burrito and about halfway through it about a cup worth full of grease fell out the burrito ripping the tortilla so I told him ask for another tortilla to wrap the half a burrito that their greasy food unraveled. And the girl at the counter saw the mess and still tried to charge us for a tortilla. I've never had a good customer service experience here and only dealt with their mediocre food cause it's closest but now I'd rather drive further just to avoid the crummy experience here. read more

Their salsa bar is the best one of all times. Their habanero onions are the best. Anything that says surf and turf is heaven. Also their angus burrito is to die for. Worst service I've ever experienced. Not crowded at all but watched someone walk out because the cashier never gave his order to the cook. Then after waiting 10 minutes I finally got up and asked for my food since there were only two customers left in the restaurant. After first saying it was mine, it ended up being for the other guy. This place used to be called Los Chavos but now I believe its called Panchos...so this was the place I would go if I wanted cheap carne asada fries and didn't want to drive far. I have also had their enchiladas but do not recommend them...they aren't that good and a little dry at times. We love Los Pancho. We have one right down the street from us which is a blessing and a curse because we always end up going there! My brother always gets the Pancho Nachos with extra nacho cheese sauce and adds chorizo on them. It is so good. I always stick with the typical California Burrito or Street Tacos. We really love the salsa bar because they have a few options but they sometimes have grilled green onions that are so delicious with your meal. A family member of mine, urged me to try their bean & cheese burrito relentlessly. At some point, I was going vegetarian, and I couldn't have their bean & cheese burrito because it had lard in the beans. When I wasn't on a vegetarian diet, I ordered their bean & cheese burrito, and chicken enchiladas combo plate. Here was my experience: Rude service: **Special Note** There's a 30 cents additional fee per transaction if you pay with debit or credit. I paid in cash, and I got charged with the 30 cents. I told the chick about it, and she didn't remember that I paid in cash, until I showed her my receipt. She did refund me the 30 cents. Faster than Fast Food: I waited not even 5 minutes, and my food was good to go. I got highly suspicious... because usually when I order fast food, they take more than 5 minutes but less than 10 minutes, unless it's drive-thru. It turns out that they prep their food beforehand --- which means the quality and taste suffer, and it did. Food: The bean & cheese burrito was more like burrito cheese bean. It had more flour/tortilla taste, followed by cold shredded cheddar & Monterey jack cheese, then the beans. My enchiladas had major issues. Traditionally, enchiladas are suppose to have shredded meat. They decide to leave the chicken in huge cubes, as if they were going to make chicken nuggets without the breading. I must say their chicken was seasoned beautifully, which is the only thing I enjoyed about what I've had ordered.The Mexican rice tasted so bland -- that is very sad. Mexican food is suppose to be filled with flavor and blend of spices. The taste reminded me of salted long grain white rice that they serve in high school cafeterias. Their beans was okay, nothing special -- just too much of that yucky cheap cheese. The enchilada sauce was minimal. They placed enough sauce to make the enchiladas moist, but not enough to bathe in it. When I got home, the enchiladas were dry with solidified shredded cheese. I am so glad I had avocados and sour cream at home. I would have been charged $1.30 for each. Price: Bean & cheese burrito was $4.75. Enchiladas was $7.99. Was it worth it? No. The enchiladas combo were reasonable and standardized price, as for the burrito it was small, and I felt like I paid for mostly for the flour tortillas. For what I paid for, I am quite disappointed. I will definitely will not come back, whatsoever. Even if you bribed me $20, I won't do it. read more
