This was my first time going Panda Express in a long time. The staff was very patient with my order. The food tastes great the Teriyaki chicken was very tender and delicious. The restaurant was very clean inside. Very well taken care off.

OMG!!! So I've only been a fan of Panda Express for almost a year now. I had no idea I was missing out on all this goodness. But I must say all Panda Express restaurants are not created equal. But hey... this location right here is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!! My babe and I came here on Sunday before we took our road trip back home. I didn't want anything heavy and with me driving a salad really wasn't an option. Hey...there's a Panda Express my babe said. He knows how much I love Panda Express, so to spot this just before the highway I was super duper excited!!! So yeah, I think this area is fairly new, because I visited a little over a year ago and I definitely don't remember seeing this area as developed as it is now. Panda Express is gorgeous inside. It even looks brand spanking new!! I'm not sure when they opened to the public, but we visited about noon and there was no wait in line. So I'm not sure if it's super popular yet...but trust it probably will if they keep serving up the freshness I had on Sunday!! We were greeted immediately and the awesome aromas of the foods made me feel more excited and delighted to try this location. We tried a few samples and everything was so good!!! But while we were sampling, we noticed about three other parties came in...I'd like to think we brought in the crowd. :) Nevertheless, let's order before we lose our place in line babe (I thought to myself). My babe had the steak bowl with fried rice and I had the black pepper chicken with a little bit of rice at the bottom followed by steamed veggies (cabbage, carrots, broccoli) and topped it off with the black pepper chicken (wok cooked and a healthy entree choice). Yall this was the best Panda Express EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVER!!!! Like the next time I am in the area, I will make sure to stop by here and order even if I'm not hungry!!! The freshness was incomparable than any PE I have ever tried. Seemingly, I live in the Hampton Roads area and there are at least five PE restaurants and as of now I only have one favorite, the others are mediocre. So yeah...if you don't like one PE it doesn't mean you will not like another. So don't judge them all the same. The employees were punctual and attentive and offered other items. I'd like to think they were in tip top shape to be a fairly newly opened restaurant. Not so much as friendly, but I did catch a few smiles here and there. But that's no biggie...as long as they were not rude and unsanitary then I'm good! I didn't check the restrooms, but the restaurant itself was super clean. TV's are present and there is ample seating in the dining area. There is also a drive-thru available. The restaurant is kind of tucked away, but once you spot it...whoooooop there it is!! There are several eateries and other shopping in the area. And the restaurant is minutes from the interstate. I'd recommend this location 1000%!! Enjoy and Have fun!! I've been to this Panda Express several times and usually satisfied with every thing. Just today the portions was a lot less than usual.

I'm surprised this restaurant has 4-stars. I used to go to Peking many many years ago before it…read morewas in the Short Pump area, and the last time I went to Peking was probably 7 or 8 years ago. It sure isn't the good food I remembered. I believe the original was on Grove where EAT Partner's Beijing on Grove is now located. I stopped in for a take-out order. I ordered Gen Tso's Chicken, hot and sour soup, fried rice, pork lo mein and a shrimp spring roll. The General Tso's chicken was awful. The chicken was a mushy clump of cubed, fried chicken. The chicken was no longer crisp (I've brought home or had delivered Gen Tso's and Orange Chicken in which the batter was still crisp, so no excuse for this when I was only about 3 miles from home). The chicken was swimming in a thick, overly sweet sauce that had WAY too much cornstarch. The fried rice *looked* like it would be good, but I have a feeling the dark color was mostly from dark/black soy sauce which mostly gives color to a dish. The rice was literally tasteless. I had to add some low-sodium soy to give it some flavor. The pork lo mein was equally as tasteless as the fried rice. The slices of roast pork were so dry that without dipping it into some sauce (which looked like extra oil on the bottom of the container), it got stuck in my throat. I make my own roast pork for making my own egg rolls and it's a ton more flavorful than this was. The shrimp roll has some shrimp in it, though I couldn't really taste it. Biting into the spring roll released a bunch of oil onto the wrapper. Not very appetizing. The ONLY decent thing in the order was the hot and sour soup. It had a good balance of heat, and vinegar. I think I tasted some bamboo shoots, and there may have been some mushrooms, but really good hot & sour (like I've had in Chinatown in NY, San Francisco and Washington D.C.) has tree ear mushrooms (also known as black fungus), dried lily flowers, and other ingredients that I didn't see or taste in this soup. But it was NOT too thick which was great as some restaurants use too much cornstarch. This was a lunch combo (Gen Tso, fried rice, hot and sour soup) and the lo mein and shrimp roll was separate. All in all, the total was just over $24 and definitely not worth it. I can't see going back to this restaurant again.

The egg drop soup was very good! Fried rice was solid and the general tso chicken had a good fried coating and the sauce was just right! Fantastic value and great food during lunch! In the order instructions, I asked for the Chinese mustard and duck sauce for the eggrolls, and that was not included in the order. The wonton soup was greasy. The hot spicy pork ribs were tasty and tender. I would only wonder why it has to have so much of the seasoning spices on them to bury it. We were disappointed with the brisket dish. It was plentiful but the seasonings were not our favorite. Also got the fried rice this time where we usually get the white rice. Not a fan of their fried rice. The biggest difficulty I had with the order was that the delivery service which used DoorDash took over an hour to get to us after the order was picked up for delivery. As I'm watching the delivery online in the app, which is a nice service in DoorDash, it did not look like he was coming to us first, and probably dropped two or three orders before us. And then it didn't look like he knew where he was going. Later in the app, I saw that there was a comment that my address was a difficult one to find which I don't understand because it's an apartment in a very central place in town.

The interesting thing about placing the order is that you also pay when the order is placed, then they bring the food out when it's made. They were helpful in explaining to me how to modify a dish and they also gave great recommendations, as well as kept up with my liking of the food and experience while I was there. I ordered their red oil wontons and their cumin lamb noodles, but I subbed the lamb for beef. This came out before the wontons and it looked and smelled great! The beef was very tender, so were the amazing noodles! The spices were so tasty and offered a decent kick, but not too hot. I love stir-fried onions in dishes like this and these were so good that I tried to enjoy one piece with each bite of noodle and beef. The red oil wontons were incredible! The flavor of the oil was perfect! Exactly what it should be and it offered a very nice kick of heat too! This was one of the best wontons I've had in a long time! I'd definitely like to go back and try their soup dumplings. Overall this was a great experience into non-American Chinese food, one that everyone who enjoys American Chinese food should try!
