This is the worst Panda Express I've ever been too. I love Panda Express food and that's the only reason I continue to go here. The service is absolutely terrible. The employees are excessively slow. I've stood in line for 20 minutes with just a few people in front of me. The food is never ready even during the normal lunch hour. One time we walked in with no one else in the restaurant and stood in front of the glass for almost 10 minutes while the worker cleaned random things. When she finally decided to help us we asked her how long until the chow mein is ready (the bowl was completely empty). She told us 20 minutes! This was at 11:45 AM on a Saturday. We just walked out and got something else for lunch. I don't know what's wrong with this Panda. I've been to plenty other ones that always have great service and fresh food. They need to hire new management to whip this place into shape. read more

"hablas espñol" instead of nicely repeating himself at the fact that you were unable to hear him over the whole noise going on in there. My mom and I went to Panda Express here in Santa Maria ca. a week ago. I gave the place another try, hoping that they will serve good food, but it was so disappointing. They served me dried fried rice with toasted rice that seemed like somebody scraped the bottom of the pan. My chowmin was dry and tasteless. Rice garden is way better than this place. No wonder the place was empty on lunch time when we went there. Can't blame people for going somewhere else. Never coming back! read more

I love this place! Granted the food is not always fresh, but if you learn to be there at the right time it is delicious every time.

Disappointing. Quality is lacking in every area, food portions are smaller, the sweet &fire chicken had almost zero sauce &was not crisp at all, the chow mein noodles were over run with cabbage &looked&tasted like sad rawmen, &lets not forget that wait was ridiculously long for how slow it was at the time I was there. This location has left much to be desired. Thanks to COVID-19 the customer can't see the food as its being plated &the lack of being under that watchful eye has made it discustingly obvious these employees are not interested in putting forth ANY effort. Panda Express is is always my go to restaurant after a long day of softball. I have tried multiple Chinese restaurants, but nothing compares to the quality of Panda Express. I've tried many things throughout the menu and found all to be very good. Many people come in and eat and other restaurants have dirty tables, but Panda Express has always kept up with keeping their facility clean. I for sure recommend this restaurant. Imagine walking through the front doors. Suddenly the smell of chow mein, orange chicken, Beijing beef, and many other food choices fill your nostrils. Your mouth begins to water with the thought of cream cheese ragoons, and many sauces. As you eat your plate your stomach feels full. If this isn't your reason to go try Panda i don't know what is. If you're looking for a nice place to just chill Panda Express is the place. It offers a family friendly environment. This place is a cross between a circus and a zoo. The customer is of no concern here and comes last, there are gossiping employees wandering aimlessly, crowds of rowdy customers everywhere because service is sooo slow, and very little work being done by anyone. I eat at a Panda Express at least once a week. Yes, the sodium content is high, but if you're careful, you can put together a low calorie meal with decent nutritional value. While I don't live in Santa Maria, I've eaten at this location at least 5 times. Yesterday, I came in at 3:50PM to order one Panda Bowl. There were 4 customers ahead of me in line and at least a dozen employees working (no exaggeration). They filled 2 online orders while my bowl sat half-filled. They double-checked my order 3 times. It took almost 20 minutes to get to the single open register. Five apologies while I waited. Never asked if I wanted a drink or anything else. Sorry to say this: but never ask a customer who stood in line for 20 minutes to contribute a dollar to charity. The worst service of any Panda Express location I've ever experienced (yes, even worse than the two San Luis Obispo restaurants!). Never going back. read more

I don't eat large portions. I get the same thing every time which is a kids meal, half and half with orange chicken on the side and a veggie roll. The Manager, her name is Luz, made my meal today and her finger was on the inside of my plate and as she tossed the orange chicken in, it rubbed her fingers. It was one of those moments where she knew that I watched it happen, but hesitated to say anything and then Mention it to her because the thought of me knowing I was gonna eat that grossed me out. She literally tossed the plate in the trashcan with a careless attitude and made me another plate with only half the amount of food it normally comes with. she was upset and bothered that I called her out on this. Being the manager, I thought she would've handled it better instead of punishing the customer and serving half of the amount the plate usually offers. The customer service is amazing. Placed an online order for 9:55pm and the recipet that got emailed to me said 9:45am. Called the store and Juan was very professional and understanding and made the corrections for us. Usually when we go in the line is long but it's always worth it. Bad value. Menu too pricey for what you get in terms of taste and quality. Can be a gamble if you're on a really tight schedule. Panda Express is simply the standard fast food principle applied to Chinese cuisine. A big problem, for me, is the items I've gotten tend to be overcooked due to their continued exposure to the heat lamps. It is especially noticeable with the chicken based dishes I've had (which have invariably been dry and chewy and near flavorless as a result). The service has also, in my experience, been of the standard fast food variety - which is to say many of the employees seem disinterested in their actual duties and empowered to gossip and socialize amongst themselves - all, of course, at the expense of focus and attentiveness. read more

I don't know why I see bad reviews from people on here for Panda Express. I love me some Panda Express. It seems to be pretty busy most nights, especially on Friday and weekend nights. The food is always so good! I love the orange chicken especially. Nobody else makes the same flavored orange chicken as them. The chow mein is also really good. Another thing that I can't get enough of is the beijing beef! I can go on and on. But Panda Express is definitely a place to go for good food! read more

These guys are amazing. They are getting SLAMMED yet still are making time to ask customers if they want samples, if they would like anything else, getting orders all correct, etc. Stood in a line of about 30 people and watched them all work as a team. The synergy, professionalism and efficiency they displayed was incredible!!! I have always loved coming to panda express! Today though I didn't receive my receipt and I went up to ask for it and read the sign stating that we get a free meal if we were not given the receipt at the time of sale. I was met with whispers and then the manager(Luz) came and talked to me and handed me the receipt stating that since I had taken the receipt from her she couldn't do anything and she said there was nothing she could do. After I stood there and asked if I had walked out of the store and come back in would she honor it and she said well yes but not for you because you have the receipt in your hand. Well, here it is May, and I am writing another scathing review of Santa Maria's only Panda Restaurant. We have had an extremely long wait on several occasions either due to poor organization or poor staffing during busy hours. Our last visit, there were 24 people in line. We waited 25 min till we got our food. We actually had to go up and ask what happened to our order! The server had an attitude of indifference, as if she could care less whether we got it or not. When we paid for it, we tried to present the rewards card I have on my phone app and she quickly replied without apology, "too late. I already rang it up." If I had it to do all over again, I would have cancelled the order. read more

I'm not going to review much of the food because it's fast food and the food is what it is. Mediocre Chinese food that is easily enjoyed by the masses. What I would like to review though would be the surprisingly wonderful service we got here. The workers here were very particular in giving us fresh food so even if they could pile on whatever is in the bottom of the tray, they asked us if we would like to wait to get some freshly made food instead. They also were very polite and helped us with a big smile - a sight I rarely see at authentic Chinese restaurants. Overall, a nice location with fresh food and kind people. read more
