This location is by far the best one compared to the location in Ontario. The ambience and the layout of this restaurant is more welcoming and appealing. The food is always good with generous portions. Drinks can be kind of hit and miss. Not sure if they do reservations since we generally walk in and just wait for a table, but wait times can be a bit lengthy. We celebrated my mother's 98th birthday at the Panda Inn Glendale. There were over 30 friends and relatives and the wait staff skillfully supervised by Mel handled our numbers with great finesse and consideration. Mel expertly advised me on the appropriate amounts needed to feed the number of people and did a great job knowing when to schedule serving the appetizers and then bringing out the entrees. Because we ended up with a few more people than we expected, she also suggested and accommodated us with extra seating which helped us feel more comfortable. What could have been an extremely stressful experience for us was made much easier by the professionalism and consideration of the staff that contributed greatly to making the experience so special for the special birthday of a special person. Panda Inn has been a very special place for my mom and I for the past 30 years. I decided to take my mom back to Panda Inn tonight to celebrate her 65th birthday and Jenny made it extra special. There was also an instant Filipino connection. Jenny was so professional, courteous, hospitable and extremely thoughtful. She was very attentive throughout the meal and she was genuinely invested with ensuring we had a lovely time and it was memorable. The food was delicious, she checked in at the right time throughout our dinner and she even went the extra mile with bringing out her other colleagues to sing Happy Birthday to my mom with a special treat. My guest really enjoyed the Braised String beans. I agree, the texture was just the right crunch and well seasoned. The Ginger Ginger Ale was refreshing. My girlfriend and I were about to head home to the Bay Area and needed a place to have lunch. We learned about Panda Inn from a friend who LOVES Panda Express so we wanted to give it a try. Honestly, I had low expectations since my friend mentioned "Panda Express" but my overall experience greatly surpassed my expectations. We got there a few minutes after they opened so there was no wait and there were few customers. We were seated and the environment was very nice and clean. Even the bathrooms were beautiful. Considering this was our first time at Panda Inn, we wanted to order things that we could not find at Panda Express. We ordered panda rice, fish in black bean sauce, hot and sour soup, and a fortune cookie milk tea. Yelp had a check-in offer so we also got a free order of vegetable egg rolls. The food was absolutely delicious. I feel bad for having preconceived opinions of the place because the food and experience was greatly better than getting food at Panda Express. The panda rice was addicting and we could have honestly ordered more. The fish in black bean sauce was really good with good texture and not too salty. Hot and sour soup was really yummy and a must-have with your meal. The only downside from our meal was the fortune cookie milk tea. It was supposed to taste like a fortune cookie but it's not noticeable to me or my girlfriend. Our server, Carla, was very sweet and even gave us some fortune cookies to compare the tastes. Truthfully, it's not too noticeable and it tasted like a normal black milk tea. The staff here were so friendly. Carla took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. She visited the table frequently but not to the point of it being too much. Plus she was kind and chatted with us a bit about our visit to LA. At the end of our meal, Carla was very sweet and gifted us a bag of fortune cookies to take home. Best friendly service I've had at a restaurant in a long time. I very much recommend stopping by here. By the end of the meal, I was already messaging friends and family about the positive experience we had at Panda Inn. My family and I usually go to the Pasadena location because it's closer to where they live but since they're renovating until April we decided to come to this location. We ordered the egg drop corn soup, lettuce chicken wraps, vegetable lo mein, panda beef, string beans, and eggplant tofu with steamed tofu (instead of fried). Everything was so delicious minus the vegetable lo mein. It could've used more flavor. The highlight of our meal was actually the service. Panda Inn the Grinch that stole Christmas!! If there was ever a way to ruin someone's Christmas Eve dinner, Panda Inn Glendale has certainly mastered it. We decided to make things easy by ordering food for our gathering, but it turned into a huge disappointment and embarrassment with 30 guests waiting. Never again will I order takeout from Panda Inn. There was no apology, no effort to make things right, not even an offer to prepare the food right away. When I spoke to the manager, I was told, "We don't have your order; it never came." Unbelievable, especially since I had received an order confirmation and the charge on my credit card. We waited for three hours, only to be told that our guests, who were waiting at home, wouldn't be getting their dinner. And it wasn't just us. Hundreds of other customers were in the same situation, some waiting over four hours before being told their orders wouldn't be fulfilled. Meanwhile, they continued seating diners and serving tables, completely ignoring the to-go orders. ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!! read more
