Finally got food here again. Drove to pick up my order. It was ready and in a sealed bag. Cool / until I got home and they forgot to put the other half of my order in there. I tried calling to just ask for a partial refund and no one answers the phone. I finally just drove back. I will say the lady at the register was very apologetic and even gave me a free cookie but what I really wanted was to drive there only one time and get the entire meal and eat the entire meal together. I typically visit the Panera in Lockport which is consistently good. This was my first experience at the one on transit and maple and was very disappointed. Had a gift card and decided to finally use it today. As a fast food chain I'd rather eat here than at one of the fast food burger joints. Today I ordered the soup and salad special. I got the Asian Chicken sesame salad and the broccoli cheddar soup which also came with a French baguette. My husband ordered a tuna salad sandwich. I've always like their broccoli cheddar soup. This is an updated review of the service but not the food which has been previously reviewed. During this latest visit I was very disappointed in both the service, employee attitude/rudeness and faulty equipment. First, the place is not conveniently laid out, making the pickup window out of line of sight and line of hearing to most if not all the tables with walls obstructing view and sound from the kitchen staff calling names for order pickup. As a useless alternative they give you a a buzzer/flashing device to alert you when your order is ready for pickup. This leads to the next issue. Second, the buzzer/ flashing devices are in such poor repair and un-maintained that people don't rely on them causing a huge crowed to mill around the small pickup window area instead of waiting for the devices to alert them. Suddenly after waiting for quite awhile my device went completely dead which leads us to the third issue, rude and unfriendly employees. Third, after my alert device completely died, I went to the cashier window and told them my device died. An employee abruptly grabbed the device from my hand . When asked how I would know when my order is ready he very rudely told me they will call my name. I said they can't be heard from the tables, especially in the front of the building. How he managed to get even more rude he said "Go stand over ther" pointing the massive crowd jammed into the small area in front of the pickup window. I squeezed through the crowed and found my order sitting on the counter. Who knows how long it was sitting there. When I finally flagged someone down and asked how long it was sitting there letting the hot soup get cold, I encountered another rude employee with a nasty attitude response "it probably just got put up there". You could tell she had no clue and responded with what she thought I wanted to hear. This is the last time I will ever set foot into a Panera again. read more

I'm a Panera member but I think their food is nightmarishly horrible, not just bland but awful. If you love Panera food, we can possibly friends but definitely not dining friends. Not in the sense that you can give recommendations to me, anyway. Sorry. I do appreciate their free self-service water and their free Wi-fi (which is sometimes spotty). Their caramel macchiato is good but I'm not a big fan of anything else. I can't give them less than a 3 considering how many times I took refuge from storms inside their warmth. So to speak. Excellent coffee, wide variety of coffees and teas and soft drinks, high-quality bread and sandwich stuffers and pastries and desserts, free Wi-Fi, what could be bad? We have been coming here for years, about once a month to get paperwork done. They are very tolerant of people who come here to do homework and administrative work. Their Wi-Fi is fast and strong. A manager "Tony" came by personally to make sure everything was OK, and when our only regret was in getting paper coffee cups rather than mugs, he came back with two beautiful mugs. They have an assortment of healthy sides, like apples, as an alternative to chips. The people behind the counter are friendly, they take all kinds of credit and debit cards, they are fast and efficient behind the counter, and of all the Panera's that I have visited, this one is by far our favorite. read more

It is so unfortunate that some employees care so little about their work. As if I should be really happy they showed up this day. I placed an order for coffee and toast. And set about serving myself coffee, placing the lid on the cup - and the sleeve while I was at it. Found a booth with the last person's dishes on it, bussed it myself and sat down. No one called me. No, she said. Welp, how was I to know it was ready? She said my name was up on the screen. A while ago. I tapped on the textured privacy glass on the booth and said you see, I cannot see through this. And no one called my name. She went up to scoff with the person who makes the toast when I walked up. The kitchen associate placed a knife BY THE BLADE (and not the handle!) on the plate for me. No gloves on. I was right there, watching. WHO trained these people?? Pandemic or not, no one handles a knife by the blade except maybe the user. There is both basic knowledge (like don't handle tines of forks nor blades of knives, or stick your fingers in coffee mugs for that matter) and basic manners involved in any customer service. It's like we have lost all sense of expectations for food service workers. I will point out I had great service for the coffee part. Of course because I served myself. I rarely see students or people coming to work at this location. The service here is good overall, but I would say the furniture is a bit outdated (worn out booths and chairs, chipped off tables). It can also get a little dark inside when the sun's not out since the lights are a bit dim, but other than that, not a bad Panera location. read more

Three strikes, and I am out. I used to order (via delivery) Panera often, and this recent experience -- that I am still on the phone dealing with -- is the final straw. Panera used to be good, fast, and efficient, but it has fallen from grace. My recent orders have ended up on other neighbor's doors that turned into a fun game of "Where's our food?" we didn't want to play. My second to last order (from last week) had the wrong food in it. This time, I ordered lunch for myself and my kiddos before noon, and it's now 2:25 p.m. and not here. After calling countless times, I finally got in touch with someone who said she needed to contact DoorDash for my refund, which is odd, because I ordered from the Panera website-- and the charge on my card says Panera, not DoorDash. (I have a DoorDash account and know how it looks.) Also, DoorDash sends text updates and photo confirmations, both of which never happened. I have been waiting to get a hold of someone at corporate, so do yourself a favor, and do not bother with this place, 'cause if this is what loyal customers get, I don't want it. **Update: Finally got my order canceled and have to wait on the refund. It seems Panera now uses DoorDash for delivery, but DOES NOT have anything indicating it uses DoorDash on the Panera website. If they are using them for deliveries, fine, but take a page from Chili's and others by adding a "Powered by DoorDash" note so people know. read more

I used to love this Panera bread location. My Thursday work-from-home routine was simple - drop the boy at daycare down the street, swing over to Panera's, fire up the laptop, drink coffee and eat one of those delicious little baked breakfast souffles and work all morning. At noon, a quick lunch of soup and then I'd head out for an afternoon of Target and Wegman's stock-up shopping (I live in Lockport and all we have out there in cow country is Tops and Wal-Mart) and maybe a pedicure if I was feeling spendy. Pick up the boy at about 4pm and head on home. That was then; this is now. Panera now limits your wifi access, and will cut you off after 29 minutes of being on-line between the 'busy' hours of 11am and 1pm. Lame! I'm not sure if it's all Panera locations that do this, but it happens here. I understand the need to boot people who are just scabbing off the wifi, but I was a paying customer and never experienced anyone waiting around to grab a table after I vacated. I think this location does mostly take-out, anyway. One more thing: I finally logged on to the Panera website and found out why the little baked breakfast souffles are so damn delicious - THEY ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU. Order taking was slow today as they were training an associate taking them. I have no problems with that and can be patient. I did feel that the tables weren't cleaned properly as we weren't able to find one we didn't have to use our own wipes to clean the crumbs off from. I also didn't see sanitizer for patrons, though it may have been somewhere and I just missed it. I like the flavors and options on the menu, though my favorite (bread bowls) seem to be gone. Our food orders were ready quickly and since we were still cleaning off a table, the orders were brought to us. That was nice. I under the cost of food has gone up, but you really don't get much quantity for the price. My friend and I selected this restaurant because, not having seen each other in 2 years, we knew we could have a leisurely lunch to catch up with each other. The reason I absolutely love this Panera Bread location over any others is because of their tablet ordering. It's amazing - works great and it's a huge time saver rather than waiting in the long line to order. Lately I've seen more and more people using them and I think it's amazing that we are accepting new technology. The food is usually great. There was once or twice where it was off, like a burnt sandwich but if you bring it up to the counter, they will replace it no problem. The customer service at this location beats any other...by far. They will take the plates right from your table when you are finished eating. There is almost always a manager present keeping the lines going and the tables are always cleared in a timely matter so newcomers have a place to sit. Panera Bread as a whole is always a great experience. Their food is all fresh ingredients. I typically hate salads...but I will eat just about any salad that they offer here. read more

After looking over their menu, I'm not sure I'll be coming back either, I think it's too pricey for my taste and nothing really screamed out to me that I absolutely have to "try this!" I'm only leaving a review for people who are looking for a fresh salad to eat. There is a Feel-Rite across the street from this location on Transit Road, they have a deli that serves a bigger salad (in the same box that Panera uses) and their salad has more variety inside (veggies) aside from leafy greens and it cost $7.99. The food is very good. The issue is they are understaffed and do not offer the best customer service. They tend to cheat you by giving you waaaay less than what you pay for if you order anything to-go. My order consisted of a pick-two cup of soup and a grilled cheese whereas another person in my group ordered a bowl of the same soup. The portions were abysmal. It looked like it was a nursing home portion size (picture for reference). I thought they may have read the order wrong and went back up to the counter to politely suggest if they accidentally put both soups in the wrong cups. The two servers said they couldn't fill the containers to the top because there was no more soup left... so on top of the small portion, I received less than what I was charged for? Disappointing. The server did ask if I wanted to replace it for a different soup which I appreciated, but didn't want them to throw out the cup that they had already portioned out. Each time I've been here there is always a very long wait.
