It turned out that there was a generous portion of freshly-made fries offered as a side, so I had a nice complete meal after my afternoon at the Air Force Museum. I don't know the specific manager's name who publicly defamed me today at the Beavercreek, Ohio Panera Bread. Teagan is a manager there and she has always been very nice. She has historically comped me when they do not have my regular Friday order ready. We typically order $25-30 every Friday in preparation for the Jewish Shabbat, and then often come in during the week too. We spend a lot of money with them and have gone to that location since 2008. This new manager threatened to have me arrested under false pretenses if i didn't leave the store. He accused me of "stealing" the order that Teagan had comped me for the previous week when HE canceled our order. He has been canceling our order over and over for reasons he would not specify beyond saying "you are not welcome here." i explained to him that i have never and would not need to "steal" anything from their store and that this was ridiculous and an insult. He told me that he would lie to the Beavercreek police to tell them me leaving with the comped bread that Teagan gave me last week was me "strong arm robbing" them. No one ever told me to stop, no one ever told me "hey that's not free." Teagan gave us this and apologized for our order not being ready, but this asshole was mad because he was the one who kept canceling our standing order. i called corporate and i called the franchise owner. i am unconvinced that the franchise owner will deal with it because he has put it off until Monday. If he does not, they will likely lose the franchise according to the woman i spoke with at corporate. They are taking this VERY seriously. Were it not for the fact that i was there with a 3-year-old, i would not have left. i plan to follow through with this even if it means suing the store, the franchise owner or the corporation if need be. In spite of the assumptions of the new manager, paying for legal fees for any of these will not be any problem at all for me. read more

This location SUCKs. Customer service is non-existent. Management could care less. Even the guy with the Certified Trainer Name Badge was worthless. They have 5 registers and no concept of organization. Its a free for all. One big cluster you know what. Be cautious of the up sales. You may order a 22oz, but only receive a 20oz. You will order a bowl of soup and receive a cup. Of course, try to rectify this with management is near impossible. You may even walk in and see 2 breakfast soufflé left. You will order and even pay, and walk over to get them, but some employee 3 registers down was faster than the employee that helped you. Your soufflé were just sold out from under you, and that was it, they are not making any more and you are SOL. Managements response is priceless. "You should have come in earlier, when we had more." I would say that, "I don't know about any other location, but this one is horrible." But this location and surrounding locations are more than likely owned by the same person. Panera Bread does not sell single-unit franchises, so it is not possible to open just one bakery-café. Rather, they have chosen to develop by selling market areas which require the franchise developer to open a number of units, typically 15 bakery-cafes in a period of 6 years. So, if this location is so poorly organized and ran, I would suspect the surround locations to be under the same management and free for all chaotic style. read more
