However, there were a couple of extra items I had requested that were not included while the food packaging wasn't that great. We had a horrible experience yesterday at the Daly City, CA location (Gellert Blvd) when my order was wrong twice. Ultimately I asked for a refund and the woman who brings the food out lied and said I added dressing when I did not (the unopened dressing package was still on the table) plus she said she made the food herself but she didn't work in the kitchen and told the cooks to redo my order. It was an embarrassing time, especially after the first error I had said to just remove the mistake item but instead she dumped the food in the trash. She was blaming and insulting me at the front cashier, in front of other customers. After being a loyal customer for about five years I will never go there or to another Panera again. read more

I used to go to Panera in Virginia regularly so when I was in the area of this one I was excited to pop in. Unfortunately the experience was horrible. The tables were filthy. A woman came by to wipe them at some point but wiped one streak clean down a large table. My food came (mac n cheese and tomato soup). First time at this location I had ordered my egg and ham soufflé online for about $4.00 to pick up on 8am on Sunday. I arrived at the store and it was nice, bright and new looking. Not crowded since so early in morning. The staff was cleaning and preparing for the day. Yes, like other reviewers I was confused in where to go. I ran into a lady that i perceived as the manager where I told her I was my first time here and wanted to know where to the pick up shelves were for my food and how to pick up a Panera frequent buyer card and pick up my free pastry. She explained to me how the card works. She was very nice and friendly. Nice location and they had outdoor seating. Sorry no photo this time because I was too hungry. But in presentation and taste I would rate it okay/good. I didn't have the same WoW factor when I was first introduced to it in Novato,CA about 4 months ago. It didn't have the plump, crispy and juiciness texture that I was expecting from the egg, ham and pastry shell, but it was still tasty. The one in Novato seemed more plumper or fuller in texture. Hard to explain. You can view my previous raving review at the Novato location. I know this is a new location that just opened and they probably need time to find their footing. You will not get your money's worth and I spent about $10 on mine. Just get one or the other. I got the tomato mozzarella flatbread sandwich. They got a flatbread and had a smattering of greens, one slice of tomato in the middle, and a sprinkle of cheese. Salad: caesar salad. Disappointing because i believe the sauce it came with was more than the salad. - helpful directions: i got upselled to get a drink. Ince they handed it over, I had to awkwardly walk around to figure out where the drink dispensers are. For those who should know: walk to the middle of the store. It's not near the doors, like I initially assumed. Another note: please instruct your staff to know where they keep things. It took two people about 5 minutes before figuring out that the straws were kept below the drink dispensers (they ran out and didn't realize...but they were busy at the time) On the plus side. This Panera location has free parking and free wifi. They have outdoor seating that is better than the next door - The Habit. i hadn't been to this location in years, before covid hit. I went today because they were pretty good back then. I wanted to try their new chicken sandwich. Of course it looked nothing like what they advertise. It was ok but because it was grilled it seemed a little pink inside so i had to nuke it just to make sure it was cooked all the way. What i want to focus on is 1. confusion in picking up your order, you need to wait for them to text you when your order is done, but they don't tell you where. and if you order from the computer (kind of grungy from so many peoples fingers typing in their order) it doesn't tell you where or maybe i didn't notice. What was really concerning is the restaurant is a little dirty, and the workers run around with no nets on their hair, not even cooks they don't wear masks either. The tables at pick up was sticky so i doubt if they wipe down. Drink area was messy and dirty too. Just seemed a lot messier and dirty than i remember. Hopefully they'll improve and clean better in the future, nowadays you have to be really careful of germs and general hygiene. read more

They also started to notice I ask for 0 calories sugar so they've been putting it on the side for me whenever I order my coffee now without asking. To me, that's a really thoughtful gesture! This tells me, they're taking the chance to notice repeated customer and getting to know what they look for. I would recommend going to this location yourself and giving them a chance. Come earlier beware the parking gods. This particular bread factory is clean it's new and it's shiny. It has a fireplace inside. Areas clean inside and out even the bathrooms. Okay, I'll be honest. Panera Bread was not my first choice for dinner, nor was it my second or third. I have nothing against them. It's just I don't really think of them as dinner food. I gave my boyfriend the freedom to choose where we should go for dinner and he chose this place. Okay, okay. Let's see how it goes. I want to be clear that my mood on this particular day was extremely crappy and thus gave me the worst attitude ever and so my boyfriend suffered from that and I apologize because Panera Bread's food honestly made me feel better in the end. Their menu is quite simple. You get a few options in each category or you can choose something from their display case. Their bagels looked really appetizing too to be honest with you. My boyfriend and I opted to do their half and half option. Not completely sure what my boyfriend got but it was a panini and their minestrone soup, I think. I got their steak and arugula sandwich and their mac & cheese. Wait time for both meals were decent. Probably waited like 5-6 minutes at most and they deliver the food right to your table which was nice of them. When the food arrived, it looked good so we dug right in. Their steak and arugula sandwich was tasty, but the bread got all soggy from the sauce which was disappointing and their Mac and cheese just tasted a little off to me. I didn't try my boyfriend's panini, but I did try the minestrone and that tasted a little off to me, too. I'm not going to lie: I'm a fan of chain restaurants. I love Panera for its convenience and ease. They make it easy to order anything from breakfast to lunch or even dinner. My favorite sandwich is the Mediterranean egg white. I know, I could probably make this at home, but they make it so good here! I don't think there's a bad bagel or pastry here. Soups and sandwiches are also awesome. And if you're looking for a place to chill/hang out, this fits the bill. Most Panera's have just about the same set up, so you're guaranteed consistency. Definitely get the rewards card if you plan to frequent this place. I'm always getting half off or something I don't need (like a yummy pastry) for free. They also give you a free pastry on your birthday (no need to use it on your birthday, either. It stays on your rewards account for awhile). read more

Man, I'm trying to suppport local businesses, but this is so frustrating. During our Shelter In Place, I ordered breakfast for pickup today. Their online form asked me for my car's details so they can bring the food out to me. I provided them with the details thinking they probably don't want any customers to carry germs into their restaurant. When I arrived, the sign in the parking lot says to wait in your car and that someone will be out shortly with your order. I arrived 1 minute before the scheduled time and parked in the first space right outside the entrance. I freakin waited for over 10 minutes, and no one brought me my food. I was the only customer in the lot! Now, running late for work, I go inside to pick up my order. I told them I was waiting for it outside for 10 minutes. All they did was smile and said have a nice day. Was that a FU or what? To top it off, when I arrived at work, I opened the bag only to find out that they gave me the wrong items. I ordered two bacon and egg on brioche buns (one for a coworker), among other things. What I got were two bacon and egg on baguettes. WTH! I can't come back if I can't rely on their service or ability to get my order right. I know it's just breakfast and no big deal, but it's just disappointing to not get what one paid for. read more

I frequently use this location for catering orders for my office, and they never disappoint. It is very easy to place orders online and customize as necessary. I have never had any issues with my order (I have done multiple orders for 20+ people) - in fact, I am always impressed at how nicely packaged everything is. During covid, it is nice to be able to do individual boxed lunches and have a safe office lunch. Everything is individually boxed and placed in very nice bags for easy transport. The food is always delicious too. I have also used this location for individual orders and never have any issues either. I would recommend ordering ahead for ease of access because they do get busy sometimes. read more

I rapid pick up breakfast and a travel refill most days of the week at this location before I go to work. Today I happened to ask the kitchen crew for raw sugar to which I heard them talking in Spanish that "she's asking for milk but she didn't buy coffee." I'm sure the confusion is that I have my own personal cup that I'm filling with coffee and not a Panera cup. I then was asked if I even purchased coffee because the raw sugar would be handed to me if I did purchase it, to that I feel embarassed since I felt like the staff accused me of stealing coffee. This is without a doubt, the worst experience I've had in customer service. I really try not to call anyone out by name when leaving a yelp review, but MARIA (If that's her real name) was absolutely awful. I had two back to back bad experiences, but have her the benefit of the doubt on the first one: I called to place an order for Wednesday, coffee and bagels for a work thing and she answered the phone. I gave her my order and she asked, what kind of coffee? So i said, "oh, is the light roast good?" She goes, "you shouldve known that before you called in." I joined their free coffee subscription this summer since it was free to join but would not come here often after it expires. The online ordering makes it easy to place orders in person without talking to someone but the pick up is a bit confusing for coffee. I can't begin to tell u how annoyed I was with the service today . I ordered my food. The person that took my order had some complications but he figured it out super nice respectful. I waited for my food. They did it all wrong so I asked them nicely to fix it. I got a sandwich and a side of pickles and I asked for extra extra pickles and I said I would pay for them knowing that it's extra so I never received any pickles at all. I went back to ask for them. The food isn't super amazing, but it's a nice cozy place if you want something more on the healthier side. I love the concept of picking two side items since I like variety and can never finish my food. It's great if you want a lighter meal. A half salad and a bowl of soup or a half sandwich and half soup is always a great combo! I also like how we don't have to get up and pick up our food once we're seated and settled down. They give you a buzzer and someone brings your food over to your table - not sure how that works, but it's pretty cool how they know exactly where you're sitting. Prices are a little on the pricier side for what you get, but it's still nice to come here once in awhile. read more

This used to be my favorite Panera to go to. It was conveniently close by and I never really had an issue with the staff until this past visit. I normally don't complain about hair being in my food (because I get uncomfortable telling a server to remake it) but of course the time I actually did, it was as if I was the one to blame. Because it's such an uncomfortable position to ask the kitchen to make your food over again I went straight to the "cafe manager" and approached her saying "sorry but as I was about to eat this, I noticed there was hair in it". She gave me this straight face.. no apologies.. and just said we will remake it. I thanked her and walked back to my table only to find another strand of hair on my boyfriends sandwich. Again I wasn't mad until I brought it to her attention and she told us it was cheese... I pulled out the "cheese" and it was a short burnt brown/red strand of hair. why would I make this up!?! We haven't even touched our food yet. She gives me the "well what would like me to do, do you want a refunnnd? Do you want us to remake it?" Again it was like we were punished for not feeling comfortable eating our meal? I just found it rude. At the end of it, she brought out our food and of course wanted to have the last word "just letting you know it was cheese". I was shocked at her remark. I didn't want to argue with her. One of the golden rules of food service is food handlers don't handle money/ the register. Given the current Pandemic most food establishments who have the luxury of being open for business should be extra vigilant about sanitary practices. I was just there 30 or so minutes ago ordering to go. The person took my payment went on to handle my baguette, no gloves and no mask. Really!!! How could this be? I was shocked and infuriated. Ive been on my Panera hype for about 6 months now. On 5/27 I had thee most fantastic experience! Convenience is key, Panera has an app and curbside pick up for those who don't want to get out of their car. I ordered my usual Toasted Steak and White Cheddar with all my modifications hoping it comes out as intended. A kind women brought my order out and the bag was still warm. I was so eager...ok hungry I tore that thang open while parked in my pick up stall. OMGGGGGG PANERA GODS were loud and clear that my recent obsession is going to be eternal. My requests were fulfilled to my extreme satisfaction I couldn't be happier. So the back story is, I order almost daily from a location close to my job. Unfortunately they continue to get my order incorrect causing me to constantly contact customer care for resolution.
