For $9.40 I got to wait in a confusing line that started as 1 line and turned into 3 lines, got a "signature" sandwich (whatever that is supposed to mean) a drink from a serve yourself fountain and (oh goody) my choice of chips (a puny bag of about 15 potato chips), an Apple or - get this - bread. Brilliant! What a delightful side to order with a sandwich - bread. God help me, I was in foodie hell. I was soon upped to foodie purgatory when my sandwich was quickly brought out by someone who didn't know what kind of sandwich it was - just the order number. Since there were 5 of us and one person collected all the numbers, I had no idea if it was mine... Fortunately it was obviuos since I ordered the Asiago roast beef. And it was pretty good. But not $9.40 good. It was about $6.00 good. Just goes to show you, open a new restaurant and the locals will beat a path to your door. I think it's newness factor now. I came here with a work group for someone's birthday. We actually sat outdoor by the fountain which was very pleasant because it was a very sunny and warm day. I know this place will be packed in summer! I am not exactly a sandwiches, bread, soup and salad kinda girl because I would rather spend the same amount of money for something with more substance like meat lol... However, I picked Caesar salad, french onion soup and freshly baked french bread to see how well it went with my stomach. The combination was nice because onion soup was kinda salty, as they normally do. I also ordered a coke and I guess it's refillable. This was my first experience at a Panera, ever. I have read mixed reviews, but I really wanted some Broccoli Cheese soup. :) The inside is a lot different than I originally pictured in my head. It was "cozier" than I expected. The girl at the counter was unenthusiastic but she gave me a cup of soup that supposedly she wasn't supposed to sell to me. (Because they weren't going to sell that size anymore.) So that was nice of her. My soup was delicious and I also got a chicken caesar salad. The dressing was a little sweeter than normal but overall, it was alright. The bread that you get was also pretty good. The only downfall was that it was about $13.00 for a salad, a cup of soup and a drink. I could have gotten the 1/2 soup/ 1/2 salad deal for like $7.00, but I didn't know how big the salad was going to be. I will probably try that next time. This is a review for this location. Summary: It took 15 mins to make my supposed "rapid pick-up" sandwich during off-peak hours. I've worked in the restaurant industry. That is way to long for fast food. Next time, I'll go across the street to Togo's for a sandwich. When you walk in, you'll notoce the convenient kiosk tablets to complete your order your "Rapid pick-up." This excited me because I wouldn't have to wait in line to order and the food would be prepared "rapidly" for me. Wrong. I went in around 4pm and the place was extremely slowly. Always get my order wrong whether it's a pick up or dine in. And whenever I do an order to go they never have it ready on time and they ALWAYS mess it up some how. I was standing in line their the other day, when a women came up to the counter with her cupcake which had a nat on it. It was disgusting and you could see the bug moving. Okay, before you read any further I will state some things right away: a) I've only been here once b) It's only getting three stars because of the outside seating area and the free wi-fi c) My first experience wasn't all that great but I'll give it a try again for the pastry items or bread As I stated, my first panera experience wasn't all that great. Woo freaking hooo another strip mall in the burbs with 'good' food places, of so they think. You know when people are getting excited about the Elephant Bar there are NO really really good places in this town! Friends had been raving about this place so I gave it a try. Eh, mediocre at best. I had a pannini with turkey, cheese, bacon and sun dried tomatoes. One really can't go wrong with anything with bacon and cheese on it...but panera disappointed. It's a pannini so I'm expecting melty crunchy hot goodness instead I got soft mushy slightly warm blah. I mean it was edible but lacking. The other thing I thought was kind of weird was when I ordered my sandwich the girl asked me if I wanted chips, apples, or bread. Huh? Yes I want bread on my sandwich, I don't see any chips, okay I'll have an apple. It took a minute to get it sorted out but with any sandwich panera will give you an apple, a bag of chips (you don't get to choose it's just one kind, the plain boring kind) or a piece of bread. Why would I want bread with my sandwich? Odd While trying to figure out which line I was supposed to be in I was checking out all of their fresh baked pastries and breads and they all looked very, very good so I'm sure I will be back to try those. And the girl whose name I now forget (sorry) that was working in the pastry area was super super friendly and nice so that was another reason for the extra star. Parking is a bit tight. Place can be busy but they do know how to crank out the orders. Bread in the panini was too hard.

Panera is one of my favorite spots for these 3 reasons: 1) free WiFi, 2) scrumptious pastries / bakery selection, and 3) sammiches and soups. And, really, that sort of sums up one's experience here. To go into a little bit more detail... Breakfast: I like their selection of pastries - pastry rings, cobblestone rolls, muffin tops and cookies! There's a wide variety of freshly baked bread (cinnamon raisin, ciabatta and baguettes, to name a few). If you fancy a bagel and shmear, you have plenty of choices. I'm a fan of the ciabatta breakfast sammiches (Vermont cheddar, sausage or bacon, and egg grilled between two slices of ciabatta) and the baked egg soufflés (Spinach & artichoke is a winner). Lunch: They have seasonal specials, with the menu items occasionally moving onto their regular menu if it's a crowd pleaser. Choose from salads, sammiches and soups. There's an option to pick 2 [salad + soup or salad + sandwich or sandwich + soup]. I typically get some sort of sandwich + soup combo. I like trying the seasonal items, but I've become a fan of the Napa Almond Chicken Salad (pepper-mustard chicken, diced celery, seedless grapes, almonds & a special dressing). There is a daily selection of soups. I haven't tried too many soups, but I do like the Chicken Tortilla and Broccoli Cheddar. I've heard the clam chowder is good but it always runs out quick! The mac & cheese is made with Vermont cheddar and is pretty tasty. Bakery: As mentioned above, the pastries are yummy. They're quite perfect in an "I'm going to treat myself" or "I've had a bad day" kind of way. My top picks: cobblestone sweet roll (Cinnamon Raisin bread dough mixed with chunks of apples and spices, topped with streusel and white icing), Chocolate Duet with Walnuts cookies (Chocolate cookie dough with walnuts, semisweet chocolate chunks & bits of white confectionary chunks), and the classic bear claw. The pastry ring always looks tempting, as do most of the options there. They will gladly slice up any choice of bread (loaf, demi, baguette). There is ample seating indoors and outdoors, but be warned that their busy time is 11:30am - 1pm. Seats are a hot commodity and WiFi use is restricted to 30 min. Expect weekends to be packed 'round brunch. You're more than likely to see me hanging 'round here, so stop by and say hi! :) read more

I've come here a couple times now when I'm in the area. It's located in a large shopping center with a Target and various other stores. After shopping down there I like to stop at Panera for some good food. The people that work here are friendly and efficient in getting my order processed. I like how the store is organized and there is plenty of seating to choose from. The only real thing I don't like is the outdoor seating area. It's SO windy out here which makes it not enjoyable to eat out there. Perhaps some outdoor heating lamps? I end up sitting inside the majority of the time because even if its not cold it's still windy. read more

We came here for breakfast on our way to Yosemite because we were both starving and needed some sustenance for our four hour drive. There were a ton of people working and it wasn't that busy, but it didn't really look like anyone was really doing much. I'm not a fan of this newish Panera trend of having your food delivered to your table, but this location provided that service. Thus, I sat and waited...and waited. . After a bit, I hit my food crazy limit, and went up to the counter myself to check it out. I don't know how long my order had been sitting there, but lo and behold there it was... I used to love Panera, but this location just sucks so much I hate all Panera locations now. I went in the morning for a quick pick of breakfast items. There were 2 people ahead of me when I walked in and for some reason even though there we 4 people behind the registers only one person was doing anything. To top if off she was moving at a snails pace. It took longer for her ring the guy up in front of me, toast his bagel, and give him a cup for coffee than I think it took me to drive there from San Ramon. Now granted the coffee was good and the bear claw was excellent, but the breakfast sandwich was more bread than anything else and they didn't even have the coffee I wanted since its canister was out. Now one of the 6 people doing nothing could have easily refilled the coffee canisters, but no, instead I had to drink a substitute. During other trips, the service has been more tolerable, but their sandwiches need more meat. Go to Safeway for a better sandwich and go to anywhere else for a better breakfast. I hate this place. Panera just opened here in Dublin so I thought I'd give it a try. It is a pretty solid place to get a good sandwich. My wife had the Smoked Ham and Swiss which was pretty tasty. I had the Italian Combo which was delicious. They threw in a pickle that I didn't notice until I was finished with the sandwich, but that was tasty as well. The food itself was really good. It shows that they used high quality ingredients. The bread was top notch, the produce and meats were spot on. The cheese was fairly good too. And for the money, this place is a total bargain. The servings are the right size and the quality is pretty high. Since they just opened, they seemed to be a little disorganized at the front counter. What am I to say about Panera Bread? I was in here because my spouse did not like the line at Chipotle (Can't blame her, really! The line was very, very long!) and was very hungry. So I was just thinking I should Yelp the last place I ate at and when my sharp-as-a-tack memory kicked in after a few seconds....Panera, it was! Most of our dinners are homemade but we broke convention last night and hit Panera on the way home from BART. This wasn't my first time at Panera (more like 5th or 6th) but we are increasing our frequenting of this place ("frequenting"???). More and more we'll hit up Panera for our grub for drives to Tahoe, or even on our way to the airport so we can have a decent sandwich on the plane rather than the box crap airlines are schleppin' nowadays. I have fallen into the rut of ordering their Italian and I must say I really like it. This place is gets a solid meh from me. The people behind the counter are either helpful or surly. The food is either well put together or a mess. Some things, like the baguette side, are unreliable in portion size. I've had a huge chunk or a tiny chunk ripped apart by hand, or small or medium pieces cut with a knife. I've also had to-go orders messed up. Missing baguettes or chips, wrong entree, that kind of thing. It's made me one of those people who gets the bag, and then has to rummage through it to make sure I've gotten what I ordered. Anyone who has or had a moody teen knows that if you open the bag at home and it's not what they asked for sets the tone for the rest of the evening. I really do like the bakery part though. The baguettes are reliably good, my son is bonkers over the muffies (think muffin batter treated like a cookie) and as I've sampled through the other things presented in the window I've been happy. This place would be four stars if it the service and food presentation ware more reliable. I've been close to rating it two stars a few times, so that's why I've waited to make my review. I like Panera as a place. The menu is good, the food (when prepared well) is good, I just wish this location were more reliable from a service and kitchen standpoint. When this place opened up I was a huge fan of coming here for lunch/dinner while working in the same area. I was really happy that Panera Bread opened in this area just because there was too much fast food here. I wasn't a big fan of sandwiches for lunch/dinner but I love their tuna sandwich and their tomato soup. Its really weird when I love tomato soup but dislike tomatoes. I can't have them in my sandwiches or burgers but when its a red gooey broth, I love dipping bread into it! It doesn't taste like tomato but its tomato soup! I think this could be one of the better places to eat unless you want to sit and chat with a few friends for awhile. I have been to this Panera location several times and have yet to be happy. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to the restaurant. Jade (the woman taking our order) was incredibly rude, kept cutting me off when I was trying to place my order and overall didn't give good customer service at all. Dang this place was so crowded at 130pm! Geez! I had to share a table with some people and looking around there every table was taken and there were a bunch of lollygaggers hanging out. I've been waiting for Panera Bread to come to the Bay Area; I always had to wait for my annual Boston trips to eat here. The baked goods are so yummy and the coffee is always good to drink with them! I've been to Panera a few times now and haven't found anything I don't like. The restaurant is well set up so that they fit the most tables possible in the space but in a way that doesn't make you feel like you are sitting on top of the table next to you (especially if you can grab a booth). The girl who helped us behind the counter was very friendly and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. As a few other people pointed out, they do get very busy at lunch time, but I watched mutiple staff people hurry around the restaurant, doing their best to clear tables quickly and get the next group seated. They also have a large outdoor eating space which is perfect for the nice weather days. Average pricing for a sandwich/soup place and really decent food. BIG two thumbs up to Panera for providing a complete nutritional information booklet right at the beginning of the line so you can really know what you are eating. I have eaten in Panera at numerous locations and am happy to say i'm a fan. The choices are plenty and the best part is the "you pick two " combos of soup/salad/ sandwich. The cocept is wonderful and the service of food is fast. I don't mind waiting in line to order as long as i'm getting a good meal. The bakery has a large selection and is well stocked. I like the salads esp the chinese chicken salad. They also have good pastries, the danish claw is my favorite bc the sweet glaze is so tasty. The sandwiches can be improved though. They don't use fresh meats, but instead use the standard oscar meyer meats and taste like preservatives. I usually just go for the green tea lemonade though.
