The employees were perfectly reasonable in responding and adding chicken to it, but really? It came with an apple that was mealy and dry. The kids menu includes yogurt (strawberry or blueberry) but I was surprised to see that it came in a plastic tube. Our 22-month-old toddler already uses utensils, so I was not a fan. Finally, there were no drinking straws to be found. After more than 10 minutes, someone put out jumbo drinking straws (like the kind you might find for tapioca-ball tea in Chinatown), which were fine. But how do you not have straws available? First problem: The cashier hit the cash key instead of the credit key. Had to wait for the manager to override. No apology. Second: I looked at the receipt and saw that the wrong salad was ordered. I told the manager and she took care of it. Again no apology. Third: I noticed that I paid more than I should have since the salad that I ordered cost less than the salad that was entered. Fourth: When I got the salad it was much smaller than usual. I believe that it was also missing some ingredients. The manager said it wasn't too small. Fifth: My wife's salad was missing the hard boiled egg it was supposed to come with. The manager said that they were out of them. No apology. The manager did refund my money. I'm not sure if this rating will prevent anyone from visiting this location, but please stay far away if you desire efficiency and quality service. We arrive to a long line right in front of the door. Granted it was lunch hour (1p?), there was only one cashier. They weren't short, but I wasn't sure where the other employees were. We usually receive our lemonade at the register once we order it, based on it being a special drink, but were told to move over to a drink counter. There were 5 other people waiting for their drinks and it seemed like they'd been waiting for awhile by the frustrated and confused look on their face. The manager was preparing and serving their drinks with a "lemonade!!" as she almost slammed the drink on the counter, no eye contact, and almost tossed the straw on the counter as well. Our turn came and we, even though weren't providing the service, said "thank you". We had our number stick and receipt and went outside to wait for our food to be delivered. Five minutes, Ten minutes, Fifteen minutes, Twenty minutes, Twenty-Eight minutes later I went inside to inquire and found an employee walking our food out to us. He was nice and followed me back outside to deliver it to our table. Most Paneras (Tampa & Birmingham) allow refills for Lemonade, but not this one! As we approached the counter to ask for a refill, the employee didn't make eye contact at all. After an awkward ten seconds, she looked up. We asked for a refill and she sternly stated, "WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GIVE REFILLS ON LEMONADE, BUT THIS ONE TIME I GUESS I WILL". We responded, "That's okay, no thanks". To which she replied, "NO, NO, GIVE IT HERE". We again responded, "No thank you" and walked away. If the policy is "no refills", that's understandable, however her attitude and demeanor is reflective of a rude, overworked, and/or frustrated staff member. Good coffee & Tea. Very disappointed, this was my go to place with friends for lunch or light dinner. That's done, it has been progressively worse. Recently met two friends there, one ordered Mac & Cheese to stay,they made a mistake & packed it to go, I explained their mistake, they offered a bowl & utensils, that was fine. Was there today, Sunday around 1pm. Definitely extremely busy. Only 2 registers open. Got our food in about 20 minutes, not horrible since it was crowded. Went to the food pick up area to get 2 to go boxes and bags, the employees saw me standing there including the manager and I was ignored. At this point it wasn't so busy. Standard Panera and on par with others that I have been to. The location is pretty large with lots of different kinds of seating: tables, couches (the fireplaces are especially nice on cold days!) Service was quick and although the line was long, the cashiers kept the line moving pretty well. Came with two friends and our order came out pretty quickly. I got the turkey chili bread bowl--warm and hearty, and perfect in the cold weather. This isn't specific to this location, but I wish they would scoop out more bread in the bowl so that there could be filled more! read more

I am a college recruiter and let me tell you, we are VERY familiar with Panera. It's our go-to place as it offers variety, comfort, good prices and good food. I was hesitant to bother writing a review based on one bad experience, but if you don't get feedback, how would you improve or build upon what you do well. I went in for take-out at around 6:30 pm. I ordered half asian sesame chicken salad and cup of french onion soup. The Positive: The salad was excellent. I have not had this one before and was very pleased with the quality. The young woman who took my order was very pleasant and even called attention to the fact that I had perks to use on my Panera account. The negative: The order took a little longer than I would expect, but that isn't a huge deal. As I stood there, though, three people behind the counter were talking and one made a comment about having to mark sunflower seeds. Not many people are aware that sunflower seeds are often produced on equipment shared with peanuts and therefore could pose a risk to people with nut allergies. I just didn't like the fact that she was so loud and rude about it. Finally....how do you screw up soup? I returned to my hotel to find my french onion soup was just that; soup. No cheese and no croutons included. The soup was inedible. After 2-3 spoonfuls, I came to the conclusion it was concentrated and threw it away. Too strong and salty to eat. I just got turned on to the on line ordering option. I order from my phone and in ten minutes my meal is sitting with the other to go orders.. I just take my bag and I'm on my way. No waiting in line , orders can be customized and each bag has napkins and utensils. Their salads are amazing, large and low in calories. The flat breads are also good.
