i do appreciate workers during this time, but my experience here was just sad. I walked in and it took them 10 minutes to take our order and no one was up there but we were people in the back laughing. then when we finally got someone to take our order he was rude, impatient, and was not happy to serve us at all. at least fake it!!!! then i went up to get more dressing cause there was NONE on my cesar salad, and again i waited 10 minutes, while people kept walking by saying someone will be with you shorty, but people kept walking past. you could hear people in the kitchen (sounded like kids) cussing and hollering. worst establishment i've been to in a long time. go to another one or choose another business. read more

This location is terrible... I've been to other Panera Bread locations in the St. Louis and Chicago area that were outstanding.. I expected to find the same thing when I walked in to this location - however not so much... It started when we walked in the door, the restaurant was filthy, the customer service was non-existent - the cashier / order-taker didn't even make eye contact with us or smile one time and acted as though we were testing her patience when we placed our order... I paid $12.02 for a very tiny half a turkey sandwich and a cup of broccoli cheese soup, plus a drink (tea)... the sandwich was difficult to chew as the bread was so hard - most of it was crust. Needless to say I left the restaurant hungry... I think it merits note that all of their food is basically freezer to table and nothing is prepared fresh in their kitchens ... meats are pre-sliced and sent to them by the purveyor and soups are pre-made boil in a bag ... I know this for a fact as I am friends with a former general manager of a store in another state - furthermore the floor plan and seating arrangement at this location were terrible - whoever thought that up had no idea what they were doing.. Nothing remarkable about the bakery or pastry items either... My advice is dodge this bullet - there are too many other restaurants in this immediate area that will provide a better meal, a better atmosphere, at a more economical price - and you won't walk out hungry... 10:00 am Drive thru experience: ordered iced mocha, iced vanilla latte and a blueberry scone. 1. Out of blueberry scones. 2. Employee had no idea how to make change. 3. I got warm vanilla milk with no coffee in it for my iced vanilla latte. 4. Iced mocha was warm chocolate milk with barely any coffee. 5. Asked for a cup of ice so I could have the drinks iced. 6. I've never understood the hype surrounding Panera. The food is mediocre at best and the service is basically non-existent. My main gripe is that their menu truly does SOUND excellent. But when you bite into the sandwich it is mostly a mouthful of flavorless bread. Some better sauces would go a long way. I've been a few times, always hoping for a better experience. New location that just opened in Lexington a few months ago. Food wise (for me), I am more of the bakery fan for Panera. I am not a soup and salad person, and the one sandwich I really ever liked from Panera has since been long gone. I do like the options (side wise) when you order a sandwich (i.e. chips, apple, or a slice of bread). Bread (and baked goods) are baked fresh daily. What sets this location apart from the other three that I know of in the Columbia area is that is actually has a drive through (I never knew of a Panera to have a dive through - even with all the Panera's in Columbus - none of them had drive throughs). Compared to the Harbison location, this location is smaller in comparison (inside the store). The lobby / counter area is smaller as well as the dining area. You can order ahead, and noticed that there is a screen you can look at (for those taking out) where your order is in the process. At least at this location, they bring your meals out to you (if you are dining in - at least with any sandwiches / soups / salads)/ They give you one of those "buzzer" things like they do at other restaurants (but these don't buzz) so the staff knows where to deliver the food. read more

I can't believe this is a real Panera. Trash all over,. Garbage cans overflowing with dishes looking like they haven't been taking away for the past couple hours. Bathrooms had no toliet paper or paper towels. Maybe short staffed but this place was a wreck. On the positive side, staff was friendly and responded to bathroom issues immediately. read more

I stop regularly on my way thru town, often at Starbucks, Chik Fil A, and McDonalds. Their drive thru windows are always packed and take too much time to get thru. So this morning I will try Panera... Every time I come here my order is wrong. I ordered an Avocado, Egg White, and spinach sandwich and they didn't even put avocado on it.

I got the pick 2 with the Mediterranean quinoa salad and black bean soup (all vegan). They let me substitute the bread that normally comes with it with the sourdough which is vegan. My food arrived in a timely manner. The order was right. Everything tasted as expected. The atmosphere was pleasant and restaurant was clean. I was pleased with my experience. I also appreciated that they have an online menu which shows all of the vegan options. Well done Panera! read more

This location is so disappointing! It was great about three years ago and has gone downhill. Went through the drive through for dinner tonight. Woman on the intercom told us to pull up to the window after everything we said! Then they re-asked us what we ordered when we got to the window a few seconds later (there was no line). THEN, they asked us to drive to the front to give us our food. Didn't bring out my frosted coffee so we had to ask for that, and they made it with a two inch-thick layer of caramel sauce at the bottom and the coffee on top, no whipped cream or anything like how I've gotten them before. Get home to eat and they didn't give us the butter I explicitly asked for and my tomato soup is kind of...brown? It's always been bright red before. Tastes fine, but still! I can remember being so thrilled that we were getting a Panera in Lexington. At this point i would be happy if this one has not turned me against the entire chain. Can't believe that this location is still open at this point. My husband and I are big fans of Panera salads. We had many different varieties that we liked at one point. Since doing business with this location there are so many mistakes made, frequently leaving off the chicken which of course we do not discover until we are home. We have called the manager on duty when this occurred, only to receive a lackluster apology. We have wanted to continue to eat our salads so badly that we began a campaign to ask every single cashier at the drive through window to please check our salads to ensure that they had chicken. This was successful. After lulling us into a false sense of complacency, we stopped asking for the double-check by the cashier. Tonight they failed to put chicken on my Caesar salad, which as in the past we have paid for. We won't be fooled again! read more

I only give it a two because everything we receive is good. Also, I believe in the ingredients. Unfortunately, that's all this location has. Every order has something missing and/or wrong. This was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at a Panera, and maybe at any takeout restaurant. I was made to wait for an unacceptable amount of time, which I would understand if there were a lot of customers, but there were hardly any. I ordered drive thru, then after waiting there for some time, was asked to pull over into curbside, and after waiting there over 10 minutes, I finally walked into the store, and received a cold coffee (that I ordered hot) and my order, which upon inspection, was incomplete. One staff member was outright rude to me, and another suggested I put the coffee in the microwave... She handed us one tea we questioned where the other was she said we only ordered one. So $9 for a cup or soup and a tea??? As always, food was great, but who left these two chicks alone at the register is crazy. One told me to repeat my order because she wasn't paying attention" and the other went from taking my order, they switched midway through order, to tending to the man behind me. Absolutely no customer service on a Sunday night. Then, all of our order didn't come out the first time and she acted bothered thay she had to go get something else. Panera bread is now in Lexington! What's good; bbq chicken salad, Fuji Apple chicken salad, broccoli cheese soup is delicious.. What's not: some of the sandwiches are lacking. The pastries aren't as good as the look. I like Panera over Atlanta bread, because they give you more choices with less funky ingredients. I usually stick with the pick 2 entree. The soup is always one of my choices and I usually opt with whatever salad is seasonal. The Thai chicken salad was way too spicy for my taste and I like spicy. The one thing about panera is you can start with an 9$ meal, but everything is an upgrade, and before you know it you have a 13$ lunch. I wish the baguette was still an available side and then I'd give it 5 stars. Love this one has a drive thru. My husband prefers a more hearty( fast food) lunch, and I'm happy to be able to get speedy soup and salad. read more

My wife used to hit up the drive thru quite a bit, but rarely now. Several times in a row, I told her what I want and then she would come home with something different because they were out of the type of bread that goes on my sandwich. So, I am supposed to be eating a panini on like focaccia or something but instead eating panini ingredients on basic un pressed whole grain bread and paid $10 for it. Got Hair - correction Got Hairs ? I've been going to this Panera everyday for the last couple of months and it was ok, not great. Couple of days ago, I went through the drive thru and as the credit card and receipt was handed to me, I noticed a long hair with the receipt so I just brushed it off, not thinking too much of it. My wife ordered a cinnamon bagel and we sat down at home to have our usual Panera breakfast. One bite into the bagel, she encounters a very long hair. After reading some of the past reviews about Panera Bread in Lexington I had to share parts of something I posted on Facebook May 1st 2017. This will be considered a review. About 7:30 on a Saturday night we realized we hadn't eaten and we were starving because we had an extremely busy and exhausting day. We decided we would order a Strawberry, Poppyseed Salad...(this is the very important part) WITH CHICKEN from Panera Bread! I ordered and paid for it online, and my husband went to pick it up. While he was gone the phone rang, and it was my husband. He said they couldn't find it and were going to charge him again for it. I sent him the email receipt I had received. He showed it to them and all of a sudden they found the order! Amazing! They gave it to him, and home he came. Now remember we are starving, tired, and starving! The first thing we noticed when we opened our salads were that they were really huge! The second thing I noticed was that we had two dressing containers each. That sounds like a lot, but they were 3/4 inch tall and about 11/2 inches diameter. I measured it later and there was 1 Tablespoon of dressing in each one. I thought, "Oh man! There is nothing worse than not having enough dressing!" Then I realized there WAS something worse...not having any chicken. I mentioned it to my husband and he replied that he didn't have any either, and he was going to make the 6 mile trip back to Panera Bread to get it. I thought it might be best to call first. So I called them, and this is exactly how the conversation went. PBG stands for Panera Bread Girl. PBG: Panera Bread, How may I help you? Me: We just ordered two Strawberry.... PBG: Two Strawberry Poppyseed Salads and there wasn't any chicken on them. I am so sorry. That is my fault. Me: (thinking) Well, it certainly isn't my fault, and I don't think it was my husband's fault, unless he stopped off on the way home and ate all the chicken off the salads. (Actually saying) Right. It was very disappointing. PBG: Well, maybe you could come back tomorrow and get some. Me: (thinking) What is some, and how is that going to help us? (Actually saying) Well, that sounds great, but we are really hungry right now! PBG: Well, uh, (laughs) do you think you could come now and we will give you the chicken? Me: Yes, but I think we should also be recompensed for having to drive back. (Thinking) maybe they will offer a free meal or give us half our money back. PBG: Yes, how about a pastry? Me: (thinking) That is exactly what people who order the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad with Chicken, that is only 340 calories, want to eat. Anyone who eats this salad has to be on a diet or is a real health food person. If I was going to eat a pastry, I would not be eating the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad with Chicken, that is only 340 calories. (Actually saying) I was thinking maybe like a free meal or something. PBG: I will have to ask the manager. Me: OK About a 15 second pause PBG: We will take your name when you get here. Me: (Breaking out in a cold sweat because it reminded me of all the times my name was taken for talking in elementary school) OK. My husband will be there shortly. But could you also give us some extra salad dressing, please. PBG: Yes, I will have it ready. My husband gets in the car and heads back to PB. When he gets there they have the chicken ready. The PBG says that the manager is gone, but she will write his name down and put it on the manager's desk. The next time we come we are to tell them our name and explain what happened and they will let the manager know. I don't know if that means we get a free meal or not. I just know it raises all kinds of questions. What if we don't go back for 6 months or so? Will our name still be sitting on the manager's desk? Will the manager remember our plight? Will the same manger still be there? Will the store still be there? Will we still be here? I guess we will have to wait and see. I will keep you posted. By the way, we didn't get our extra dressing! Sigh! PS It has been 10 months and we haven't been back. We use to order from Panera Bread all the time. Probably won't be going back now after reading the other reviews and seeing that nothing has changed. read more
