Review is for lunch: not a fancy eater, I ordered a turkey and cheese on sourdough, and was very disappointed. The turkey was shaped, cut, smelled like and tasted like foster farms sliced lunchmeat... very unappetizing. Ended up picking out the meat and having the bread + cheese. I expect quality meat at a place like this and for these prices. Those foodies and critics who think of themselves as having a refined palate will disagree with me when I say the food here is mediocre and over priced. Some might say i don't even know what I'm talking about since I couldn't tell a Ciabatta from a Focaccia and I don't even know what the hell a Semolina is! But, I know what tastes good, and I can determine value. I ordered two lunches, thanks to the small portions, better suited to the dieting soccer MILFs and shirt n' tie business class they cater to. I rolled in there wearing a faded black T-shirt and cut off sweat pants. I felt like a bum because everything and everyone was so clean and well kept. The high prices keep the low end of society out, which is fine with me as I'd rather eat with the high falooting and be the lowest class guy in the place than have to dine with a room full of unshowered poor folk who let their kids run amuck like they're at a McDonalds. It's the main reason why I shop for groceries at Raley's and not at Food 4 Less. But I digress. The food was obviously fresh and hand prepared. I got the roasted turkey and avocado BLT (sans avocado because they had run out) as well as the potato soup in a sourdough bread bowl. The food seemed fresh and tasted fine. The potato soup was okay but is no match for the prepackaged potato soup made by Safeway. Also, the portions were pathetic, relative to the cost. Make a fist. Look at your fist. That's about how much soup you're going to get. Approximately a ladle full. You will have to sit there and tear apart your spent breadbowl like a wild animal if you plan to get full. I ate everything except for half of the bread bowl, and I still left a little unsatisfied, which isn't a great feeling when you just dropped $18 for lunch. Granted, I am a huge guy, and I can eat, but for a sandwich shop in Lodi that fills me up, I'd rather choose Fiori's. read more

Went in today for a late lunch with my Mom and my kids and I have to say that I was very impressed with the excellent customer service from JERRY . He was very nice, extremely patient, and helpful. The customer service quality can make or break you sometimes. The food was great as always (My Mom and I had the blt turkey avocado with the autumn squash soup *must try* and the kids had a grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup). I really appreciate their selection of fresh brewed teas and for a treat we got an orange scone *DELICIOUS*. We love the outdoor seating. Thanks for an amazing meal! We will be back :) read more

Ok really for 4 people to eat lunch it was 48 dollars.. We just did the normal pick 2 and added a soda.The sandwich that I had got was just was absolutely no flavor at all even by adding salt.. And mind you one of the 4 of us was a child who got the mac and cheese, that was just re-heated in the microwave it seemed like.. I will not be going back there.. ALWAYS check your order before you leave I've been given the wrong order multiple times. I know I should check but when you order you trust that you get what you've ordered well I didn't check drove all the way back to work & they gave me a soup instead of my sandwich which their soups are ok except it's 100 degrees outside so last thing I want is a soup. read more

For a long time, the prices deterred us from this place. Even then we still went for the soup on colder days. Recently a friend of ours has had a hankering for Panera so we'll go more than usual lately. I absolutely love the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. I get it every time, and it's always good. The Broccoli and Cheese soup is my favorite, but my husband and friend get the tomato soup often and love it. The pastries are always nice and fresh as well. The Iced Green Tea is also a favorite, but it doesn't taste like the usual green tea. They definitely at some sweeteners. It's a little overpriced for just one cup, so it's a 'treat' when I go there. read more

I have come here every Friday since they opened and I love this place. Fact is the breads etc are drop dead world-class. They have the best rye bread every and the cinnamon crunch bagels are awesome. The free WiFi is great and the atmosphere makes in a great place to just visit, have a Bible study or play cribbage. One of the better experiences at Panera (first time at this location). Turkey Chili was tasty and had the same spices you typically get in a beef chili. Salad good as well. Order a cookie with your meal and it's only 99 cents. I wished the cookie was softer, but it was close to closing, so I think it spent the better part of the day sitting there. Hadn't been there in years. Online ordering (our first time) was mostly easy, but you're forced to sign up for some club before you can get down to ordering. Nice ability to customize your order to add or subtract things. Guy who greeted me was fantastic. Friendly. Walked me around to where you pick up "to go" orders. Made sure we had all the silverware we needed. Offered up butter for the baguettes. GREAT GREAT service. I wish I'd caught his name. Tall, five o'clock shadow, glasses, hispanic (I think!) The food was mediocre, or worse, sadly. I chose the "try two" option and picked a Thai broth with wonton and other goodies in it that sounded delicious. It shouldn't be called "Thai"; nothing "Thai" about it. The stuffed wonton in the broth was pretty good... but the spices were something I've not had before (lived all over the world...) and though I LOVE experiencing something different, it really wasn't very good. My second pick was the Thai salad. Again, I can't think of any region in Thailand where you'd get these tastes. The dressing was uber spicy (I LOVE uber spicy) but it just didn't taste good. :-( Sorry! :-( The baguette was wonderful with butter. My husband ordered an alfredo dish and liked it. Go once a month with friends for coffee, always enjoy the breakfast choices, but most of all enjoy the atmosphere especially when we can sit outside. Last week went with a friend for lunch, food was good and sitting outside made for a nice time. Much prefer the Lodi location over the Trinity Parkway because the outside (and inside) seating is so much nicer. read more

Hands down Panera is the best place to get quick food. It's the only fast food chain that isn't crappy fast food. The managers at this site are friendly and on top of things. I use the app to order ahead which works wonderfully. The one time there was a mistake they gave me my meal for free. Love this place, so happy Lodi has one! read more

The food is average, the tea expensive, and the service is indifferent. My complaints are mostly ancillary to the food and service, about the seating comfort and free WiFi. All of the booths I've sat in have broken springs and are very uncomfortable. I mentioned something to a employee and they were uninterested. As to the free WiFi, I've tried using it four times from different parts of the restaurant and every time it's been extremely unreliable--slow to the point of useless. I experience ongoing time-outs that force me to refresh pages repeatedly. Then all of a sudden it works fine for a few minutes, until the WiFi connection dies again within 15-20 minutes. It's been a waste of my time to come here for a cup of tea and try to get some business done on the web. Better forgetaboutit. read more

I have had more than one disappointing experience @ Panera Bread-Lodi but my latest one was that I ordered over $75 worth of food using their online, curbside service and because of the size of my order was instructed my order would be delayed. So, after being assigned a pickup time an hour after ordering, my daughter arrived for pickup and waited an additional 20 minutes with no response. Upon going inside she was told there was a "technical difficulty" and our food had never been made but they would make it "right away". Surprisingly, they never had to ask her to reorder or even what her order consisted of so apparently their "technical difficulties" come and go. It's obvious they are just lazy and/or incompetent and never made the order. No apologies or offers to discount anything to try to make it right. Nothing. Of course we cancelled our order. I will take my $75 elsewhere and I will NEVER be back. read more

We have visited this Panera quite a bit and it has good food, but they always seem to forget part of your order when you order through rapid pick up. Tonight, they forgot to give us a sandwich. This is the third or fourth time our order has been incomplete, and it is very disappointing. We used to eat at Panera weekly. Our order is wrong most times we visit (we usually visit the Trinity Park one). This time, our order was repeated back to me correctly, but when we picked up our food, I noticed two items were wrong. They were written correctly on the receipt. The lady behind the counter quickly fixed them. We went to our seats to find another item was wrong. I went to the counter to speak with the manager. He offered a baked item, but I had just purchased two with my order. He said that was all he could do. He did not seem like he had much experience in customer service. It's true of the other Panera as well. The managers are arrogant and do not try to help the customer have a good experience. We won't be back. read more

I wish they'd go in for some healthier grains, but...... white whole grain? I think not. Today I had something that they refer to so quaintly as souffle. This location is pretty good. The cashier was friendly and the food was good. The portions here are small compared to other locations. If you have visited to another Panera you will know the drill. Order get a pager, hear the Buzzer, pick up your food, eat, bus your table. The baked goods are good. The new cookie dark with powdered sugar has a mint chocolate taste. Yum. The pick two is also so reliable. Sample two things and get a side, chips, piece of baguette and an apple with it. Clean and easy to get to from the freeway. Wait was almost nothing. They have fast service even when busy. The food is always fresh. Their bread bowls with soup are my absolute favorite. I love the broccoli cheddar. Their sandwiches aren't too bad either. They have a big dinning area and an outdoor eating area which is nice when inside gets too crowded. read more

Never spent much time at a Panera before moving to Lodi recently. This location is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food seems fresh and can be modified to your liking. They have a good range of options, allowing for some healthy choices, as much as take-out can be. Orders are made quickly. We've used the online ordering once and it was accurate and quick. The first time I went to Panera Bread was to get a quick breakfast snack. When i went inside I felt very welcomed, the person at the check out smiled at me an when I looked around the place it was warm and cozy and i even saw a couple of friends I waved to. When i went to checkout i got an apple-cinnamon bagel and a chocolate-mint cookie. It was cheap and very quick. When I ate the bagel, it was delicious! It was warm and sweet and perfect for a yummy on the go breakfast. The cookie, which I had later, was soft and scrumptious, and very flavorful! I have eaten at panera a number of times for breakfast and lunch and I am always greatly satisfied! I recommend getting the clam chowder and baghet, it's amazingly good. The place is moderately quiet and Is great for family dinning and get togethers. It's awesome! read more
