The night crew is rude and insulting to patrons, which explains why the place is always dead. The full salad containers are never more than one-half full. Most orders are incomplete or missing salad items. As an example, my green goddess salad had no egg, no tomato, no pickled onions, and no bacon. Restrooms are filthy and floor is always wet. I've been to this Panera at least once or twice a year since 2022. My Dad always wants to get a sandwich and this is a half way point during travel. But the restrooms have always been filthy, and often times the tables and carpet have food crumbs all over. I keep thinking that the next time it will be better, but I've clearly been proven wrong. I picked the order up thru the drive thru, it was an online order thru their app.. The bag was as light as a feather as if it was empty. So I opened it and the sandwich & called the swing manager Kayla to the window. She was rude & said the salad was measured.It wasn't a cup lol 4 bites & here's the chicken & oecans? I had just bought the same pick 2 on day shift for work last week it was fine. She didn't even offer a remake & would not refund said to cancel it on the app. There was nowhere to cancel the order on the app.. She was rude & unprofepecans? & snotty!. Corporate was closed but I did upload pics with my information & I took them in ny car as I opened the salad & sandwich.. Monday morning Im going to follow up with corporate & upload the pics again if necessary. Almost $20 for a sandwich that's looks like it came out of the garbage S*** that was awfu] & landed in the garbage! I dont even make that an hour for pay. What a waste of money! I placed my lunch order online so I could grab and go. The establishment has a tricky entrance. When I was pulling in someone was backing out and I had to wait half in the parking lot and half in traffic until they were done. Pulled in and parked. When I went in I noticed the entrance was not very clean but we did just have a snow storm a couple of weeks back soanybe it was from that. I went to grab my food and it was not in the to go cubby. I waited in line to ask the status on my order and was told that it was most likely done just not brought up yet and was directed to go back and check. I went and my bag was sitting on the counter with my receipt and name staled to the front so without checking with anyone I just took it and left. Everything I ordered was there and made to the way it was advertised. The staff was pleasant to speak with. I just think it was lunch rush, and busy. Only suggestion would be to clean the restroom and the front entrance. But again I think it was just due to the time of year. I would go back! read more

NO STARS! The food was delicious, just like all Panera restaurants. But the Michigan City franchise was filthy. Apparently, there is no cleaning crew. EVERY table had crumbs & dried sauce on it. Panera food is about the same everywhere you go. The difference would be service. This place service is awful. You can't make people wait. Almost 30 minutes to get a lunch. If it's gonna take that long, you should tell the customer that it's gonna take more than 10 minutes or so and when I asked how much longer first of all they didn't answer my question second they give me dirty look and third since with an attitude now the food doesn't seem that good either I end up, not finishing any of the food except for the broccoli soup that I had you can't give a dirty look to a customer for questioning you to prepare food at a certain time and expected service read more

It could have been better. Employees seemed to be standing around while many of the tables were dirty from prior customers. The soup was not very hot and didn't blow me away with any homemade vibe. Bottom Line: Small soup and 1/2 sandwich plus drink will cost you around $18.00. I don't feel the food quality and dirty tables are worth the price. read more

8:15 on 9/26/2023 we arrived @ 8 o'clock / 8:15, well aware that they close @ 9:00. My boyfriend and I wanted nothing but soup.. and maybe a sandwich. Oh just sitting around waiting for soup to arrive like they're making it from scratch when we know it's premade and in a giant canister. It's not a busy day. Staff are just wandering around. The window opens and a manager presents our order, which is not our order, and when we say it's not ours... it's the people behind us... we pull forward and continue waiting. I got a text that my food was ready a few minutes before my scheduled pickup time, and there it was. So easy! Everything was nicely packaged with plenty of napkins included. I moved to the area about 8 months ago. Panera has always been a place I know I can get a decent meal quick and somewhat affordable. This particular store though always messes up my food. Last time I came they made my sandwich wrong, forgot my soup, and never gave me my side bread. No biggie but the manager was nice and made it right. Came again today because they seem to make it right when asked and once again had items on my sandwich I can't have and requested it to not be put on. This particular Panera is especially bad. People literally standing around. I'm standing first and only person in line and 4 people looked at me and each walked away. Food took for ever. Panera is certainly pricey for what you get but I like that I am always guaranteed quality- the service is top notch, the food is always satisfying, the restaurant is always clean and peaceful, and there are always lots of different drink options. It's a good place to do some work during off peak hours as well. My favorite is the pick two- I like to get the cranberry turkey cheddar sandwich toasted w French onion soup. Depending on the season/your mood you can get sandwich, flatbread, salad, soup, or Mac n cheese as your combo. The cashier at this location was extremely friendly, an Asian woman w short hair who seems to know the regular customers and was very helpful! Panera needs to take grilled cheese off it's menu because it's not grilled. I asked for a well toasted grilled cheese and paid almost $8.00 for two soggy pieces of bread with melted cheese in between. I took the sandwich back to ask that it be toasted more and after a lot of attitude from the staff received another sandwich slightly less soggy and it was explained to me it was run through the toaster twice.
