This is the best Panera location I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot) because of the exceptional customer service and consistently high-quality food. A big part of that is Edison (I believe he's the manager). He runs a tight, efficient team and makes sure everything flows smoothly all the time! I've never had to wait longer than the estimated pickup time, and the food is always fresh. My go-to order is the mac and cheese + baguette, but their salads are great too! The other day, I ordered my usual but received chips instead of a baguette. When I asked about it, an employee let me know they had run out which I completely understood since it was the end of the day. But then Edison came out and offered to bake fresh bread just for me. Not only that, he gave me an extra baguette for the wait. It was super fresh and honestly he really went above and beyond but that's the kind of service I always see at this Panera and this is just one example! I really appreciate the extra effort him and his staff puts in to make sure customers leave happy. This location is always reliable for great food and even better service! read more

Easy off/on from Freeway 101 at the Millbrae Ave exit, the Panera Bread joint is next to the In-N-Out Burger, a Hawaiian BBQ place, An oriental (because I can't tell if it is Japanese or Chinese food) take out place and a taqueria restaurant. You can SO change your mind after you pull up to eat. Today it was Panera. I got the half salad and half soup. Mongo sized salad makes me think the server thought I was cute and I was so so special..... until I saw my friends also get the half salad that turned out to be Mongo sized. Oh, well. I guess I need to do more mirror work. My sandwich, grilled chicken was divine. My salad was just right in crisp tasty items that I began to get a bit piggy with it. I keep eating beyond full. Not a great way to go. Good food though. Saw the pastries and resisted all of them, for now. But I have visions of those walnut cinnamon rolls with all the gooey sugar on top holding the walnuts in place dancing in my head. Just like an annoying tune that keeps playing in your head, I call it a musical virus. This is a food vision virus. I hope to get well soon from the food vision virus. read more

I just started working near this Panera Bread place in Millbrae, and yesterday I went in at 8 am and got a cinnamon roll and a chicken salad sandwich. You know, breakfast and lunch. Both were real tasty. The cinnamon roll ($2.50) was large, not heavy and wonderfully aromatic. I could smell the butter, cinnamon and more as I ate it. I went fru fru and ate it with a plastic knife and fork. It was delicious. Then, about 4 hours later, I pulled the chicken salad sandwich out of the bag and wrapper. This is a messy sandwich, and the 4 hour wait didn't do it any favors, The end that was at the bottom of the bag was all soggy with whatever wicked down from the salad mix in the sandwich. So, I imagined that part of the sandwich was dipped in a special sauce, and I was just fine. Everything in the sandwich was blended well and super tasty. And if you are going to eat it right away, this is a good item to eat. It had roasted almonds and I think raisins, which were surprising and good. read more

My spouse and I recently visited Panera for dinner at 8:40pm. Upon placing our order for soup, the staff member inquired whether it was for dine-in or takeout, to which we specified dine-in. However, upon receiving our order, we were given the incorrect soup. When I returned the soup, the night manager, whom I believe is named Rodger, overheard and expressed frustration towards the staff member who had served us. He insisted that our order should have been for takeout only, as the establishment was closing at 9pm. I would like to bring to your attention that there were other patrons present at the time, and it appeared that this directive was only directed towards us. This made us feel disrespected, discriminated against, and embarrassed, especially considering that the other customers present were of Caucasian descent. read more

These Panera Bread locations seems very nice and clean to me and this Millbrae location is no different. If you go early enough, sometimes you can buy their muffins and coissants still cooling down from the ovens! The sandwiches and salads here are pretty tasty and fresh with high-quality ingredients. Even their mac and cheese is pretty good! They have free wifi so this is great if you are waiting for the BART train or just waiting for a late friend to join you. The prices is a little high for everything Panera Bread offers but when you consider what you are getting, it is reasonable! I would totally recommend this place for breakfast or lunch! read more

Just OK. I've been to a lot of Panera places, and none of them are terribly exciting. I just got off the Millbrae Bart station after spending an HOUR on the train and was starving. Man, I should have gone into the In-n-out 50 feet away. I had a sandwich, no, excuse me, I a panini, which had lousy, soft bread. I aslo tried the soup... Should have stuck with the "panini". I was hungry, so I managed to swallow about half of my sandwich and left most of the soup. I should have given them 2 stars, but the nice sunny patio outside where you can sit and catch some rays while munching on your food counts for something. read more

Zink Girl finishing off a handful of reviews on her first Yelp day. Panera Bread has some great focus on bread (duh!) sandwiches, salads, soups and pastries (more duh!). So far I have taken on a tuna salad sandwich, which I liked alot, and my almost daily cookie. The sandwich had some interesting items in the tuna salad, some cranberries, some nuts, well blended tastes. And the rosemary bread gave it some oomph. The cookies must have chocolate, so I usually get the..... chocolate chip cookie. Do not mention white chocolate, which is an oxymoron, like military intelligence. read more

After a day out on BART we went to this place for dinner because it was convenient. I had been curious about it for some time. I ordered the 3 cheese pizza and since I was starving it seemed OK...but while it was cheesy and generous it wasn't as crispy as advertised. My husband had what looked like a yummy chicken/cheese pannini sandwich and he said it was great. Also his desert of carrot cake. As I looked around at other tables I saw salads which looked very good too. I would definitely try this place again but not order the pizza. read more

When the In N Out joint is insufferably crowded with 3 busloads of high school kids having fun stomping ketchup packets and making a mess, I will mosey across the driveway to the Panera Bread. Moseying done, I see on the menu some soup and a sandwich. So I get the clam chowder 3 stars and the chicken salad sandwich 4 stars, and some coffee 1 star. Any pastry in my book is 4-5 stars. And I will try some another time. But the coffee is below Eek! Methinks Not! Overall a good place when the In N Out is overrun with idiots. read more

I am a big fan of the food at Panera. The soups are very good (although small portion sizes for the money). Would still eat there though because it is usually enough to satisfy but not overeat. My problem with them is that they consistently get the orders wrong. If I have a to go order I will now take the whole thing apart in the restaurant to make sure everything is inside. Wouldn't comment about it but the chance of getting your whole order is about 50/50. Which is super annoying once you are all the way home. read more

This is a 2.5 stars review, and rounded up. I had a morning snack today from Panera Bread, consisting of a cheese danish and an americano, coffee. The coffee is 2 stars, as in Meh, you have got to be kidding. Weak, and tasting brewed from Denny's. Cheese Danish was tasty and hit the spot, because I had no breakfast today. It would have been good even if I was not hungry. Service was confused. They forgot the vanilla in my friend's Vanilla Latte, and there was no cream on the cream and sugar bar. read more

I am going to tell one on myself before this review. I went and got a Panera Bread awards card, and I think I've gotten a reward every other time I have come here. Out of six visits my free rewards are a coffee, a cookie and a bagel. Free. Sweet. The rest of the menu here is pretty good too. I like the bagels here even when I have to pay for them. The sandwiches are killer good on awesome bread. Try the chicken salad sandwich. Haven't tried the soups yet, but they smell good. read more

This is a very big Panera with a convenient location right near the train. The food is all standard Panera fare, but the staff is always friendly and it's a big space with lots of seating. It can get crowded around lunch, but I like to order ahead of time online and have my lunch ready and waiting for me when I get there. They even have a feature where you can order a day early and just select the time you want your food to be ready. read more

Called earlier today to get a quote for 20 dozen bagels for catering order for next day. The gentleman was very kind and gave me a quote to hold my order. 2 hours later I called back to place the order and the lady on the phone said she may be able to accommodate only 3 dozen bagels and no more. I ordered a smoothie and a bagel to be brought to the outside table through their app because I had my dog with me and I didn't want to have to bring my dog inside. I was waiting for twenty minutes before I went in and they couldn't find my order and didn't even bother to apologize. When the In N Out next door is too crowded I will skip and hop over here to Panera Bread. I love the sandwiches here, and the Paninis are tasty too. Not much of a soup fan, so no info there for you.
