Panera bread is my go to option when I attempt to eat healthy, detox the In N Out out of my system and get some veggies in. This location has a drive thru and just recently opened from the date of this review. This means it's still fairly new, clean and modern looking. I haven't dined inside but I have tried Rapid Quick pickup a couple times and went through their drive way multiple times. Biggest positive of this location: I love how there's a drive thru! You can order anything in the menu without having to step down and go inside. The convenience of the drive thru is the only reason why I go to this location. Otherwise, I wouldn't come here. Here's why: in each of my visit through the drive thru, there's always something missing with my order. Either carrots or other veggies for my Spicy Chicken Salad, or forgetting croutons in my Caesar Salad all the way to completely forgetting the brownie we ordered. I understand if this happened twice but more after that is not cool. It's annoying. The same experience goes for Rapid Pick Up. We thought we'd try this method to reduce the margin of error. Good thing we did, because they also forgot some ingredients. Most of the time the food is fresh, but there were a few times when it wasn't, which is disappointing because that's why we go to Panera. I usually order the Spicy Chicken Salad and it is usually good if it has all its ingredients. Good balance of tangyness along with the crunchiness of the wonton. I also get the Veggie sandwich, and it's like russian roulette when I order it. Sometimes it's fresh and has all the ingredients, other times it can be underwhelming and pathetic. But when it's on point, it's a pretty good sandwhich that is light and refreshing. Drive thru was closed so I walk up to the counter and start to order but the guy just points to the order screen and walks away to chat and laugh with his coworkers. I didn't want to order on the touch screen because it doesn't let you make modifications but he didn't care. I couldn't even find my other item i wanted to order but there was no one around to help! I just paid for it and waited very long just for someone to scoop some soup in a cup. I got up to check with the cashier but as soon as he finished helping another lady he heard my "excuse me" and looked me in the eye but walked away anyways. I finally got my order by asking the ones behind the counter and I get to my car to find soup spilled on the cup and no napkins in the bag to help! Plus no spoon! Really hard to give this place 2 stars. I wanna give 3, but the good food and clean store is overshadowed by absurdly high prices and a confusing menu. I've been to this Panera 3 time and held off on reviewing until my 3rd try since the place is fairly new. All three times I went through the drive through and all three times they have messed my order up. When your order is messed up in the drive through you don't find out till you are at your destination or several miles down the road. There is no option to go back to try to make things right. The only action I see is to stop going to Panera and for sure Panera drive through a as they don't seem skilled to handle the drive through business. Speaking of drive through I thought I'd share this photo. So I loved coming here to study. There was always an open table. I love the non-contact ordering option at the iPads. It's every introverts dream come true. I actually had to go up to order with a person this last time though because they didn't have an option to order a non-dairy milk in a cup. When I went up to the counter, a tall guy says, "Oh she'll be with you in a sec". This was off putting because he didn't even greet me and I felt like he didn't want to deal with people. Customer service is everything most times and sets the tone for the experience of the customer. This is why I took one whole star away. The reason I kept the other four star, solid four stars, was because the girl that helped me was patient, kind, and down to earth. July 27, 2018 Intro: It's always nice when you can have something that isn't your "typical" run of the mill fast food meal. Something different and makes you feel good about eating it. "Sandwiches" are always that nice meal that can be super healthy if you make it that way, or it can turn into something just as calorie ridden as a burger from your nearby burger joint. "Panera Bread" of course is a perfect option, they don't just serve "bread," they have a whole host of items and for the most part, depending on how you want that said item prepared, most things you get here could go very well with a diet or fast that you may be trying to do. A perfect think outside the bun place (even shell, you're included taco bell), all that's left is to decided what you want to eat. Well here is my experience, let me tell you why "Panera Bread Pittsburg" is a hit and miss in my opinion. Panera Bread Pittsburg: Okay, so most of the time I've gone to various "Panera" locations I already know what I want. I vary rarely go up to the counter and just order what I want, I usually do online ordering for pick-up at the time I specify. I actually like the fact that online ordering via the app or online is available as most times when I use this method, I'm at work and really don't have much time to wait in line to order my food. I don't honestly mind the prices so much, but I do mind if the service behind the prices I pay for the food isn't on par. A restaurant could have the best tasting food, but if the service sucks, it would make you not want to go again. This location needs to get it together in the service and being punctual department. Out of the 2 times I've been to this location my order was never put in the pick-up cubby area, and I've had to approach one of the workers who was often times conversing and ask them about my order. One of the times they forget to make it completely and guess what....I had to wait, thus eliminating the point of online ordering. I'm a sucker for the seasonal shortbread cookies and tuna sandwiches (Try it on the Asiago Focaccia) they have at "Panera" my usually order for sandwich, chips and a drink usually runs me $12.14 in total give or take. I haven't had an issue with the food at this location, my issue is with the bluntness of the employees and always having to "wait" when I shouldn't always have to do if things are being done how they're supposed to. Bright notes about this location is they're one of the few locations to have a drive thru, it's located in a great location off the freeway near by other popular businesses. Also this location has everything you would expect to find if you've ever been to a "Panera Bread" including a shaded patio area. Overall: I like "Panera" but I wouldn't say that this "Pittsburg" location is my favorite. I think if the staff and management were to be more attentive then this place would be a easy 4 or 5 star establishment. Service is a big thing for me, and I still would recommend this place considering my score and I nine times out of ten would be back myself. Just consider this if you visit this location, it's a definite hit or miss in the service department, but you will get at least the quality of food that "Panera" is known for. read more

So this place is extremely clean and nice as it was pretty empty at 7pm but there was only 1 person taking orders and she was terrible. Felt bad for her because I could tell she was new and didn't have the system down yet, but at the same time annoyed that they didn't have anyone else helping her.
