I love this place. The cream of chicken and wild rice soup is to die for. The cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese is phenomenal. One of the cooks, Kelly, is extremely pleasant and always has something niceto say when I pick up my food. One of the girls at the front is extremely rude, however, dark curly hair and glasses. She has rolled her eyes at me multiple times and you can tell she doesn't want to be there. This has to be her first job because she has absolutely no idea how to treat a customer. I will wait in line for the next available cashier as not to deal with her, she is awful. The managers are really nice and friendly here. The establishment is pretty clean. I find it to be a little pricey for what you get, but sometimes I get a craving for my soup that I just can't kick, so back to panera I go! read more

This place is a dump. It is very unsanitary. We requested the manager, who was horrible, to please get somebody to clean our table. They did not. We were there for two hours, and not one table was cleaned. We are in the midst of a pandemic. The soup was lukewarm. The drink machine did not work properly, and there was no ice. Placed an order online for rapid pick up. Came home and open up my chipotle chicken avocado melt out to find the bottom is completely burnt. It's inedible. Also it's all bread. Almost nothing inside. I call and speak with a manager who says I can come back and get a new one which doesn't help me. I have to stay in the house with a napping toddler. I was there before two families that she seen and both times I told her I was ready. I usually never have a problem at this Panera location, but unfortunately tonight the girl who took my order, Dejani (as it says on my receipt) was on her phone the whole time distracted while taking my order. I order the same thing every time and of course I did that tonight and she messed up and Didn't put my order down as a pick 2, then continued with "well you should've told me that" when I definitely did but she was too distracted by her phone. So not only was she distracted but she was rude THEN she was too distracted to realize she owed us change it was only a few cents, but it was the fact that she was too focused on the phone. There was also a label in my soup that I found while eating it, but I'm more upset about the horrible customer service. On the bright side the manager was nice about the soup incident and fixed it right away. read more

Had to give one star in order to post review but truly don't feel they deserve it. Well it was a Friday morning about 8:20, walked into this location, only 2 employees behind the counter. One was working with a customer, the other was off on the side looking like she was making a drink. There were two of us waiting and waiting and waiting. After waiting for five minutes I had to leave due to time constraints. However, no acknowledgment from staff that I was even there. As I was walking out I noticed a manager huddled up in a corner booth working on a computer completely oblivious to her store or customers. I called about ten minutes later, phone rang at least 9 or 10 times. Asked to speak with a manager. Was informed by the girl that answered that she didn't know if one was there but assured me that she would find one! Nicole than answered. I asked if she was the manager and I was told 'assistant'. Asked if that meant she was the assistant manager or the assistant to the manager and she said uh huh. Explained to assistant Nicole what had taken place and she explained that both clerks were busy with other customers. Asked Nicole how long she expected someone to wait in line before being acknowledged and she said 'gee I don't know'. I abruptly ended my call letting assistant Nicole know that I'll call back when a real manager is there. Service here is always horrible and I don't think I'll ever come back to this location. Panera you need to invest in customer service classes for your employees this is just horrible. Needless to say went to Dunkin Donuts next door, was greeted with a smile and very friendly customer service! read more

If you're reading this - don't place an online order from this location! Drive to another Panera 5 miles down the road - you'll be better off. I had placed an online Order for: 4 sandwiches, 4 soups & a bakery item online on a Sunday - I had visitors over and didn't want to cook. My order confirmation said it was delivering between 4:25-4:40p. When it didn't show up, I called the store at 4:45p and they told me that "they just saw the order" and someone was leaving in 2 minutes to deliver it. They also told me that it was "a large order" (if that's what they call a "large" order, then they obviously can't handle orders for a family of 4) , so it went to the bottom (of what, I have no idea). I called back again at 4:58p to see when the delivery was going to arrive (since they told me that the driver was leaving in 2 min. and I live about 3 min. from the store. The Manager apologized profusely, but that didn't sit well with me since I've never had a problem with other Panera locations and large orders. It's not that Panera has a problem, but the location itself. As part of my job, I order from Panera stores in Oakbrook Terrace (& from Naperville years ago) on a daily basis (and I mean daily) and have never encountered the dumb excuses the Plainfield Panera provided me. I live very close to this location, but won't be doing any online ordering here since they obviously can't get their act together or the Manager doesn't handle the location well enough for public and/or online orders. FYI - the store needs to be cleaned up a bit - the last time I was in the store, most of the tables were dirty, crumbs on the floor and food stains on the wall. BTW - I hear Noodles & Co. I love the concept of Panera Bread. We have eaten at the Panera often. It is very busy. However, I was shocked by how dirty this Panera was the last time we there! Take a look down at the floor. The carpet is unrecognizable. It looks like tar! Filthy! The restaurant is littered with old napkins and food. The food is slapped on the plate. It is just throw together. My husband and I got salads from here tonite. I found a couple of HAIRS in my salad!! I know the hair wasn't mine since I have white hair and these were dark brown. I called Jason who said he was the manager to complain about this. He told me "it happens from time to time". Wanted to know if he could remake it for me. Seriously? If hairs in my salad didn't seem to alarm him why am I going to go back there for food again? I never in my life had a manager tell me that hairs in the food happens from time to time! NEVER will I go to Panera again not only because of the hairs but the flippant attitude of the manager! I will be sure to tell anybody I know what happened at this Panera. Food will cost you but hairs in your food are free! Day later....... got a call from the manager of Panera and she wanted the receipt for the food. Since I ordered online I had to print it out and sent my husband with the printout which CLEARLY showed the amount paid. He gets there and she tells him she needs MY credit card. Now I don't know how she thinks he can sign for anything on my account but she calls me at home and insisted that he get my card and bring it back with him so she can process a credit. What a crock of baloney. She could have given him the cash right there but chose not to. And .... by the way for all you who eat there ..... even SHE says that hairs happen. Beware the hairs folks. I like Panera and most Panera's are good, however this Panera is awful. Ordered delivery and recieved spilled soup, hair in the food, no sauce on the sandwhich and barely anything except lettuce on it (more lettuce on the sandwhich than the actual salad). When extra sauce was requested for a salad it was just one cup split into two. Croutons with soup both bags only had 3 croutons in it. Polite enough when we called, but whoever is behind the counter cooking isn't fulfuilling their job. read more

The employees at this Panera location are always pleasant. The service is quick and the food always matches the pictures it's shown in. The one thing I do not find appealing is tables, benches and seats are always dirty. I know every time I go to my table to bring extra napkins to clean up my table to wipe away all of the crumbs from the last person enjoying their side of French bread. This is probably the worst Panera I've been to. Ordered rapid pickup on a Saturday, but I wasn't in any rush. I figured it would be pretty busy. Was quoted at 10 minutes, took close to 30 to get my food. Whatever, it happens. Got home, and realized everything I ordered was screwed up. The sandwich I customized with no red onion was loaded with it, essentially ruining the entire sandwich for me. I hate red onion, hence why I specifically removed it. Salad came thrown in a box (like, literally in a box, not a container. One of the to-go boxes.). Sandwich came in a bag. I love Panera Bread and I decided to stop in and treat myself to a muffin and a hot tea. It was not busy, one customer in front of me. The cashier took her order and proceded to fill her order(just a bakery item) . The cashier then walks right past me to the back ok not happy but figured she would be right back. The cashier then starts chatting at the manager whom at various times looks up front sees me standing there still no acknowledgement from anyone. Now I know they are busy filling to go orders but why couldnt someone acknowledge I was there? I waited five minutes and left. I have frequented the panera on caton farm in Plainfield and have never had a good experience. The food is not prepared as described missing ingredients. Many times beverages such as tea is out and I have been asked to wait 20 minutes for them to make more. Yesterday I witnessed a customer come in to pick up their express order to find out they didn't have the email order. Management needs to step up and fix this. My soup was cold and when I asked to have it warmed up the girl behind the counter acted extremely annoyed and told me I could heat it up myself using the microwave in the dining room. We frequent Panera weekly due to the consistent good food and service. On our visit tonight, we had an issue with the Mac n cheese for the little one, it was under cooked and the noodles were hard. The manager Sarah went above and beyond to rectify the situation. It was one of our best interactions with a manager in a long time. She is a great example of why we go to Panera. I am not thrilled with this location, and I love Panera. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and was very disappointed with what I got. I have had this at other locations, so I knew what to expect. It had only a few pieces (very small) of chicken, and about 50 cents (if that) of lettuce. I had mainly lettuce and croutons. For almost $9 - it was the skimpiest I have ever seen from Panera. The girl behind the counter making it seemed more interested in socializing, than making my salad. This location has gone down hill over the past few years, and I will no longer be patronizing it. If you like to throw away hard earned money, they by all means eat here. Otherwise, you can do much better in a sit-down restaurant read more

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was in this particular Panera Bread. I got a Classic Salad. It came with lettuce that was all wilted. It looked as if it was not fresh. The cucumbers looked as if they had been frozen. At first I thought that they were pickles. I have shared the pictures on Facebook. I went over to the kitchen area and the gentleman instead of taking off the nasty cucumbers looked and picked out three slices behind the counter that looked a little bit better and played them on top of my already sad looking salad. The girl that waited on us was very disappointed when I told her and she requested that the manager refund us. The manager was very reluctant to reimburse us......she really did not want to but she did. I had brought my sister in as she was visiting from California. I will never go back to this Panera Bread and would not recommend it. I have always been willing to pay more as the salads at all of the Panera's that I have been to have been very fresh.
