I will never again come to this panera bread. They took about 30 mins or more on my order when it wasn't even packed with customers when I arrived. I also noticed the manager Stephanie was being racist towards the customers and the employees. I overheard her saying obnoxious jokes and slangs and I think she doesn't deserve this job anymore. It's unacceptable. She used the n word when talking about a customer to her fellow coworker and proceeded to say rude things like talking about how bad he smelled or the way he was dressed like a "f*g". It's truly utterly DISGUSTING. I can not stand to see such a racist and homophobic person working at this kind of restaurant. By the time I got my food, my broccoli soup was cold and spilled from the side and they didn't even bother to clean it. This was the worst experience ever. I called ahead and ordered 2 steak and cheddar paninis and a bowl of turkey chilli. I was told to pick up in 10 minutes. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING WITH CHICKEN!!! I ordered a Cobb Salad with chicken on it and 30 minutes to an hour later later I was throwing up. I was very disappointed and honestly disgusted. I wasn't sure that it was the chicken but I'm not sure what else could have been bad. Was the chicken old, did they cross contaminate, was there something wrong with the eggs? Came here to study for my liscencing exam. Got the grain sprouted egg and bacon breakfast sandwich was was a bit stale and bland. (Grain sprouted refers to the outta on top of the bread, not the bread itself I learned). The coffee was hot and fresh, and unlimited from what I could gather. They have soy milk too which is nice. There are only a few outlets so I would advise coming with a full charge. Overall I stayed for 4-5 hours and got some solid work done without it being too noisy or having anyone kick me out or give me dirty looks. Tons of old people in the morning though so the conversations tend to be on the louder side! read more

WORST customer experience ever! Ordered a Sesame Asian Salad, paid, and waiting in the pick-up line. About 3-4 minutes into the wait I was called to the counter and informed that they are out of lettuce. No salads can be served tonigh. I changed my order to,a Sierra Turkey sandwich with no dressing. Back to waiting. I was called to the counter again and informed that they are out of the bread. I was asked to re-order again. I ordered the same sandwich but on ciabatta bread. The server made the sandwich and then another server said "he asked for no dressing" after she already put dressing on the bread. I was again called to the counter and informed that the sandwich was made with dressing and now they are out of ciabatta bread. I was asked to re-order again. I ordered 2 dozen bagels sliced. It was my son's birthday. The cashier took my order and verbalized understanding of it. I even saw her discuss it with an older person who appeared to be a manger. They have a machine that makes this easy. They sold me the bagels. When I got home, I found they were not sliced. This negligence threw off the timing of my son's birthday party. as much as i hate falling for chain restaurants i'm a full fledge bonefied(sp?) advocate for panera bread......uhhh free wifi and broc cheddar bread bowls saved my life.....heres how....the free wifi i picked up in panera, that i could not get in my apt, helped me to browse thru craigslist for a new place to live far away from my then roommates i would fantasize about strangeling in their sleeps.....and the broc cheddar bread bowl ummmm, really didn't contribute to my quality of life but it just tastes so damn good.........(smile)....oh ps, i chipped my front tooth on a baguette from panera last year.....i don't care, i'm not mad for some reason.....i think of panera bread now like that mean friend you have that bully's you but you keep them around because they buy you stuff read more

This is a really good Panera Bread. The staff has almost always been great here... once I had someone who wasn't very nice, but all the others great. The bread is fresh, sandwiches fresh, coffee fresh... Go here instead of the Starbucks in Quincy Center, it's much more enjoyable. read more

Panera Bread is basically what you see is what you get. The food is good and they keep an book behind the counter on food ingredients so you can review what is in the food before you eat. If you have a food allergy, be sure to check the list. The management is very attentive her and service is fast. read more

Like most Panera Bread Restaurants, the cleanness, food and price points are all good for fast food type establishments. This Panera used to be one of the best run Paneras around Boston. One to which, you would like other managers to take a field trip in order to see "how it should be done." All that has changed. They have gone retrograde and lowered the efficiency, the pleasantness of the experience, and the wait time, backwards to a lower level that previously never existed. Now instead of "beepers" they depend on shouting a name over and over expecting someone at the far end of the restaurant to maybe hear the them bleating. You don't have to ask if there is a new manager. Way to go...........downhill. read more

I've eaten at this Panera about 6 or 7 times. Yesterday (Dec. 12, 2014 abt 4:30pm), entered, and found a very busy place with a lot of young people. One young man, sitting at a table for 6, had all of his paperwork out and computer out and was taking up the whole table. Commend him for his studying, but what about taking a table for 6 on a busy afternoon? Also, about 6 young teens came in, sat down without orders, and proceeded to talk loudly, using profanity (fuck this, fuckin that, etc). A big turn off to the point that it ruined our short supper we were having. Sorry, management, but my lady friend and I made a decision: No more eating at your place on Hancock Street. I am a fan, not because it is significantly different than any other Panera, but because of one employee. I wonder if they realize that Gerry, the woman who greets and takes care of customvers waiting, do they realize she is the only reason for success at this location? She is happy, jokes, brings a smile without being overly Motherly. I really enoy her and look forward to her happy nature when I visit that Panera. Honestly, this location would fail if the other employees did not have Gerry. She was gone for a week or so, and nothing was right, no cream, no hot coffee, tables disorganized and of course, cold food. I was surprised that one woman can have such a big effect on a restaurant. Forget unconscious bias. This is outright bias and disrespect. I am a longtime Panera customer and have been to many Panera Bread locations in numerous states. For this location, I've been about six times and the service is okay, not great. Today I went to Panera at 10:30 a.m. to pick up a salad before the lunchtime rush started. When I approached the register, the employee was on the phone. It appeared to be a cordless phone. He looked at me, looked away and continued talking. I waited patiently figuring he probably just needed a few seconds to wrap-up, but instead, he went into the prep area behind the register -- without acknowledging me --- no "I'll be right with you or someone will be right with you." Another employee noticed this lack of interaction and told the man that he had a customer. He looked at me and said "I know" and continued his conversation and activities. The other employee looked puzzled, shrugged his shoulders and went on about his business. By this time I was in disbelief. After waiting another minute or so, I turned and left the restaurant. It's one thing to make a mistake or to not see the person, its another thing to have it brought to your attention and still not acknowledge the customer or to at least signal their presence. This was particularly upsetting because to me, it was yet another form of aggression. I wondered, "Is it because I'm black?" If I were a white business person, would I have been disrespected in this way? I don't know the answer, but shame on Panera! read more

This panera used to be one of my fave places to go. With working so much and having a child I tend to eat out a lot. And this used to be the place to go. Up until the last two to three months. A couple of girls In there, one whose name is luciana I believe who was there tonight which is Tuesday, has harassed my friend who usually goes In to grab food to go multiple times. She is so rude and I have worked in customer service a long time, as a manager myself I would never let the things she says or ways she acts towards customers ever happen, unacceptable. They consistently have a problem and we used to go there every night and spend over $20, now I Don't Even like going there. And now to boot, there was a hair in my salad. I took pictures but the managers there don't care bc I have called before and they do nothing and cover for the employees so now I'm writing this and I'm going to call the regional general manager. I never call and complain to businesses but with all the money we spend there it's getting crazy. They are rude and talk to people unacceptable and Act like they are doing me a favor making my food. Nearly was towed from Panera's lot by Ayers towing even though I was parked legally and a customer of Panera. I returned to my car to find a tow truck (with a black Honda on the bed--sorry I wish I could've saved you!) parked behind me and the driver calling in my plate. When I asked, "Is there a problem?" he said, "nevermind" into the phone, hung up and hopped in the tow truck and drove off. I called the manager of Panera and she fully admitted that the "landlord" has a contract with Ayers towing. Never going to Panera again. read more

I ordered a Frontega Chicken panini to go and what I found when I got home was barely cooked chicken, onions and cheese hanging out the side of two pieces of bread. I mean, only about 20% of the stuff was between the bread. This stuff you let slide at McDonald's when you buy something off the dollar menu, not when you plunk down $8 for a sandwich. I actually called to complain and the manager, Kelly, was incredibly NICE and offered to refund my money and give me a new sandwich. I didn't have my receipt so a gift card was provided to me. A very decent solution (hence an extra star). On the whole the place is a bit of a clusterf**k with people yelling at one another and not much care put into preparation. I watched a few sandwiches being made. Things in-store seem to have a little more care but EVERYTHING that was to go look slapped together and under-prepared. If you have to eat here, don't get it to go. Better yet, don't go at all. read more

Sigh... This is one of my favorite places, and I'm disgusted that I have to even give a star at ALL!! The food is great, but the "management" is horrible. In MARCH (just remember, March), I went into this Panera and ordered as usual. When I home, my order was all wrong so I called to let them know. I cannot remember the name of the first manager I spoke with (lucky you), but she apologized and said that she'd mail me a coupon for my order. I asked her if she needed to know my receipt number or how much my order was, and she said "No" which I thought a little odd, but what do I know? I'm not the manager. So anyway, she took my info and said that she would mail it out right away. Cool. A week goes by so I call back and get Hannah, I explain the situation and even she finds it odd that she didn't ask for my order amount. So she apologizes and tells me (on a Wednesday) that she will mail the coupons out IMMEDIATELY and since the mailbox is right outside, I'll have them right away...grrrrreat! Awesome, right? WRONG! So I wait more than a week...still, nothing in my mailbox, so what do I do???? Glad you asked, I call back, and I get Hannah once again who proceeds to tell me that she went on vacation and she put my coupons in the mail "two days ago" when she came back...but uhmmmmm...if you were doing it that day I would have had them... So now I'm frustrated, and I ask if it would be easier if I just came in because obviously my mailman seems to be the *idiot* because he just can't seem to get these daggone coupons to my door, shame on him. So now...I wait, and I wait some more. Now I'm looking for the number to corporate, maybe the managers need some training on how to BE managers, it happens. Instead of corporate I get the Watertown Panera... Enter Stephanie (from Watertown), I get to explain ONE MORE TIME what's happening...so what does Stephanie do?? She tells me that SHE will send my coupons....and do you know what happens?? I GET COUPONS!! I was so shocked and excited that I had to Yelp about it! It's just a shame that it took another store manager to resolve my issue. I should have called her in March, I probably would have gotten them in March and not MAY!
