I really like the food here but almost every time I order, there is something wrong with it. Normally I do rapid order. The last 2 times something was wrong with my order and they had to redo it. Today I didn't do the rapid order, but placed an order to go. Simple order, a few bagels, cream cheese, and a cold brew coffee. I get home and the cream cheese was not in the bag! I should've known to check it before leaving the store. I would rate no stars This location is not clean. The tables, carpet walls counters, booths, and bathroom. I should have known better to eat here given the unclean appearance. Warning I have gotten food poisoning here. In addition for the past 10 years or so it's been open it just gets less and less clean. The WiFi never has worked and orders are constantly wrong. Cashiers do not use gloves when serving food and handling money. These are the facts not my opinion. It is my opinion however that this place needs a deep clean, top to bottom, new paint, new carpet and booths. Training for staff to get orders correct. Very disappointing, I should've read the reviews before I went to this location. There's a reason they have lots of two star reviews.!!! First off when I was asking questions about what comes on my sandwich and what sides come with the orders and the girl ringing me up had no clue. I should've known at that moment this was all going to go wrong. After receiving my order which was a large Greek salad and a Mediterranean sandwich (to go) I checked the bag and realized the one size of chips that I asked for weren't in the bag. I told the girl and she put it in the bag. I also asked her where the pickle was that was supposed to come with the sandwich and she said that it was in there, when I showed her that it wasn't she said it was wrapped up with the sandwich. When I got home to eat my food there was no pickle and on my Greek salad there was no pepperoncini peppers!!! For the $$$ price that Panera bread charges, you would think that they would get the order right and not leave out parts of the order. This order cost $18 and three items were missing, a bag of chips, a pickle, and the pepperoncini pepper for the salad. Either the staff needs better training or they're just lazy and their personalities reflected that as well. They were unwelcoming and seemed miserable to be there. Some of the women with long hair that work there didn't even have their hair back in a bun, one brown haired girl had pigtail long braids that hangover her shoulder that were as long as her waist dangling all over the food. -yuck! Went in for a late lunch yesterday and was very disappointed. It started when the check came out to $27.00 for two sandwiches! A little steep but I figured they were gonna be some great sandwiches. Boy oh boy was I wrong! What I got was two slices of bread with a tiny amount of turkey, a green tomato slice, and some weird green stuff that slightly resembled lettuce. I'd like to know why they never have enough help at the counter to help the customers, and why they refuse to make enough large loaf sour dough bread for the customers who simply just want to buy a loaf, to be able to do so? It doesn't matter what day or what time you go there, 8am or 5pm, they slice the loaves they have in the morning for making sandwiches all day, but don't care about the customers that just want to purchase a loaf of bread to make their own sandwiches. We went in to work on school stuff and have bagels and coffee at 8:00 on a Friday morning...they were out of bagels, the steamer machine was broken so we could get coffee drinks, and when we sat down to do work on our laptops, the WiFi was so slow that we couldn't really get online. This restaurant USED to be one of my favorites.... Why the change of heart? I found a dead cockroach by the men's bathroom on June 3, 2015. It was definitely dead. The table I sat at was sticky... from a questionable, damp source. It had not been cleaned. The handles of the chairs are grimy. Must I carry those disposable wipes that COSTCO sells? SO my boyfriend moved to Simi a couple of weeks ago to be closer to work. Before that we only ventured out to the valley on bowling nights. His new house has internet issues, and frankly I think it's because they have a router plugged into a router, but no one listens to me. Anyway the moral of the story is, I had no way to yelp a place to go for internet, but I knew that Panera existed on Cochran...so I headed over. Like other Panera's the food is okay. Never memorable. It's not bad, it's not good, it just is. You eat it, and that's all that happens. It's okay prices, for okay food. The Keyword here is OKAY. When you're in a bind and starving, it gets the job done. I'm pretty much over their panini's and just stick to the soup or salad options. I will say they do have good bread. So good for Wi-Fi and an Okay experience! I have like this place. I like that if you frequently come here you can earn points to get free stuff who does not like to receive free food. A bread store that wouldn't sell me bread????? I went to this store at 6pm on a Saturday evening (store open till 9pm). I asked the cashier to buy a baguette loaf. She told me that they were out. I pointed out to the cashier that there were 4 baguette loaves behind her on the wheeled cart. She told me that those were for tomorrow and could not sell one of them to me! A store that makes bread, but would rather sell it to an unsuspecting customer as day old, rather than selling it fresh to a customer now???? I went to Pavilion's grocery store and found a store willing to sell fresh bread, still warm from the oven!!! Guess where I will be taking my business from now on?? Several times I have tried going to this Panera late morning or afternoon to buy bagels. Frequently, I am disappointed to find they sold out!! I love!! Panera Bread, but this one has bad service. I usually order rapid pick up and more than once I have checked my order here only to find things missing. When I asked about it they said they were out of the items, but what if I left without checking?? Since it's a pre-pay system that means I would have paid for items I didn't get. ** This review is based solely on the coffee and space.** I've been looking for a place to study in Simi that actually had enough space for me and my laptop. All of the Starbucks locations in Simi are small and if they have a seating area, the seats are always taken. This panera is just like all of the other locations--large room for studying, not crowded, with a some-what nice staff. The only complaint that I would have is that their prices are higher then other places... And that is why I choose not to eat here. Other than that, you don't need to be a gold card member to get free refills on the coffee! Or... Am I just getting free refills for free when I'm not supposed to? Also it's slightly better than cafeteria food, but its pricey! the internet sometimes sucks, and the service is hit or miss....Sometimes people have loud bible study time...i thought that's what church was for...oh well. if you're on a budget get a coffee and a baked good and you'll be fine! This place would get 4 stars but the service sucks. I thought maybe this was a problem at just the Simi store, but every Panera I have been to has an ill conceived service model. This is a franchise problem. Plan on standing in line forever for just a cup of coffee. The sad thing is that the checkout counter has 4-6 registers, so when you are waiting in line you are fooled into thinking these guys can handle a crowd....guess again. Watching paint dry is faster. If they ever figure out how to fix their service attitude, the rest of the place is great. High points include a large dining room perfectly set up for groups to come meet. The Free Wifi is perfect for making Panera your mobile office and group meetings. The environment is nice and comfortable. The food is decent about 10% higher that what I would like to pay. I typically get gift cards with my AMEX rewards and twice I've gotten Panera Bread gift cards and tried to use them at this location and both times their gift card service has been down. Either I have really bad luck or they need to up their I.T. skills and get things up and running faster. It's very frustrating to drive across town for nothing....TWICE. Update: We finally got to use our gift card and let me just say, this location sucks. There always seems to be a new cashier who doesn't know what he/she is doing. Instead of coaching him, the other worker just yelled across the room what he needs to do on register. The tables and floors were covered in crumbs and dirty dishes. The manager this particular night looked miserable and complacent. Having been in management I was always told by my higher ups to not hire staff to match my personality or comfort zone but to always hire outside the box. You can totally tell that every person on the night crew has the same crappy personality as the manager. Which is not a good sign. This location is hit or miss. Today was great though. They do an excellent job during "rush" times and do particularly well when you phone in the order. If you go like late afternoon, the service is very strange. Panera in general... well, I love that they have so many vegetarian choices that I don't have to get the same thing every time I go here. I actually have choices and variety, and I love that. I love that they offer kids soup meals now. I wish the kids meal came with a side option instead of just yogurt -- my kids would prefer the apple, but as far as kids meals go, this is probably the healthiest option in town. The Simi Valley Panera's men's restroom is never cleaned or stocked properly. I have been a daily customer for about a year. There is feces stains in the corner and the floors. The tp and butt gaskets are laid on my the baby changing folding table. Those receptacles are filled with nasty garbage that you would only find in an unkempt toilet. The employees also use them so I'm sure the management is aware. I visit other Panera in my area and they are kept clean. read more

I recommend the breakfast cheese souffles and ordering for pick-up at a specific time using the mobile Rapid Pick-Up. I'm not a big fan of the menu since I find it kind of bland in flavor, but I keep coming back because of the two things above. It's also a great place for group meetings, since they have a variety of seating and even a longer conference table. The Rapid Pick-Up is hit-or-miss, and I've come in a couple times and they haven't had my food ready (once due to an error, another time because they had it waiting on a heater so it wouldn't get cold).
