Panera Bread's food is pretty standard, and consistent, but the customer service will not have me returning. I ordered a bagel pack for a MONDAY morning meeting at my job (I was tasked with supplying breakfast), and they left one of the cream cheese tubs out of the pack. When I first contacted them, they offered to mail me a voucher, then it went to, okay you can come back, and we'll refund you for the ONE cream cheese. This was their mistake, I never received the product, but they are asking me to drive back to the store, to get the amount I never should have been charged. I think not. I contacted customer care on their corporate site, was told initially by them I would have a refund for the order, and then received an e-mail from the regional manager, saying "we will issue a refund for the cream cheese". Obviously, half the bagels went uneaten, and nobody on my team will be utilizing Panera Bread for morning meetings again. This experience put the nail in the coffin for me, and I'm done with Panera overall. No matter what state or location, fully 50% of the time orders are incorrect, missing items, or something else ridiculous. Yesterday took the cake for "something else ridiculous". Stopped in around 6pm for a pick-me-up cup of coffee and decided to order a cold brew. I waited nearly 10 minutes behind only one family of four to place my order for my $3.89 coffee. I was not offered or given a receipt. I then waited over 10 minutes and still had no coffee, so I approached the manager, Tonya, who was expediting food orders, to ask about my coffee. She seemed annoyed, and then went to check the order screen in their "line" and told me it wasn't there. I told her what I ordered and she snottily asked me if I'd even paid for it. (??) I was really taken aback that her very first thought was that I would stand around for over 20 minutes to "steal" a cup of freaking coffee, rather than asking the young man who was working the register if he'd rung up my order or maybe even having a thought process of "the computer might have messed up". By this time, I was pretty irritated, due almost entirely to her insulting jump to conclusion, and the young man who rang me up could see this, so he did speak up and confirm that yes, I had paid for my order, but Tonya was already off to the races, taking care of a different order, because in her mind, I probably hadn't paid, so why bother, right?! I turned around and walked out, without my coffee, and with a done-with-Panera-decision made. Love the bread bowls with the Broccoli Cheddar Soup...so good! Also tried the bacon tomato and goat cheese grilled sandwich...just perfect! My husband enjoyed the Craft Soda Station with all of the unique flavour combinations. My daughter ordered the Steak and Arugula Sandwich...after she tried it she realized she would have liked it grilled...when she asked...they made her a complementary new sandwich! If I could give zero stars I would. I was harassed and bullied by management in front of my toddler. I ordered a smoothie and added spinach like I have done at multiple other locations this time the manager said she didn't include spinach because I didn't pay for it but I asked when ordered and it said on my receipt if I'm supposed to pay extra it's their responsibility to charge me. I personally enjoy Panera Bread.. It's not the top of the line gourmet restaurant you go to but cmon, it's a chain restaurant that is actually serving you real food, not crap like McDonald's. The line is usually long around lunch time but it goes fast. After ordering at the counter you get a buzzer and sit at your table and they bring the food to you. Today we ordered the BBQ chicken salad and the strawberry poppyseed salad along with strawberry smoothie. The food came in less than 6 minutes and honestly was so delicious!! This is my favorite Panera bread location. I love Panera's food in general. My go to lunch is a pick two with broccoli cheddar soup and a Caesar salad with chicken and the French baguette. There is something about this combo that always hits the spot. The bread is to die for, I can only wish to make a French baguette like this one. It is soft but crispy and so flavorful. First of all, I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. I really enjoy what Panera Bread has to offer, it's fresh and the selection is constantly evolving. I especially enjoy their lunch specials and recently they launched their new salads which are really great. They are fresh tasting and flavorful. Their soup and bread bowl, specifically broccoli cheddar, is my favorite. This particular trip I had placed an order online for a meeting. I was impressed with how fast it was waiting for me at the store. The online ordering was very customizable, almost too much, that you can order exactly what you want and ensure there are or aren't any ingredients you want on each item. I walked in with my daughter and we stood behind the next person in line, then another cashier stepped up and called for the next person in line, so my daughter went to her. I stood behind the man that was in front of me, after he completed his order, I waited, and waited, and waited! The cashier that was then in front of me walked away! When the other cashier finished with my daughter she did NOT take me as the next in line, she took the person that walked in after us, completely overlooking me standing there waiting my turn to order when she clearly saw me standing with my daughter as the next person in line to be helped. Then, I was not offered a .99 cent pastry. I have always been offered a .99 cent pastry, no matter what I ordered. I was informed last night that because I didn't order a drink, I wasn't "allowed" to have a pastry. Not only was she rude, but she was using someone else's till. My receipt says my cashier was Tonya, only to find out the actual cashier's name is Amber. I don't know if Amber is a new employee or not, but she acted like one last night. How sad that you do not empower your employees to sell 1 pastry for .99 cents when everything else about our visit was such a disappointment. On top of all that, I ordered a 1/2 salad to go so that I could have it for lunch today. My salad was not a 1/2 salad, it was a pick 2 size salad, AND there was a hair in it! We like going to Panera, and we continue to go; however, it will most likely not be going to the Southcenter location. It was 6pm on a Saturday night, and they ran out of spring mix. They could not do any salads or other items that contained spring mix. They also ran out of various bread types that they use for sandwiches. I ordered the Mediterranean vegi sandwich for my wife and was informed about not having spring mix. I asked to substitute the the spring mix with avacado and asked to not be charged. The frontline person put my order in. I forgot to get a receipt, so I went back and got it. Low and behold, they charged me for the avacado. So not only did I not get the bread my wife wanted, and no spring mix, but I got charged for the avacado. I knew there was nothing that the frontline could do, so I went and spoke to the expaditer. I told her what the issue was, and I formed her that I wasn't asking for a refund, but as a customer service issue. I was giving her advice on how they should be handling this from a customer service standpoint. She said it was out of their hands because the POS system codes it as a protein, so it was going to have to be added to the check. Apparently, they need to be trained on the "void" button on their POS system. This whole ordeal is either a problem at the Corporate level by not allowing their Managers to provide adequate customer by making adjustments to customers bill, or it's the store owners issue for not allowing their Managers to do the same. Either way, it doesn't make Panera as a whole look good. Please fix this. read more

I usually come here for a coffee, salad and soup. It is convenient for the selections of foods. I don't really care much for the sandwiches. The Panera apps allows me to order before and and by the time I arrive, it would be ready. Price is reasonable, not the best salad I ever had but it'll do for now. The self serve order machine program was slow. Also, It was frustrating trying to work it. Join the rewards program, that'll accumulate over time and earn free treats. I love Panera Bread, but this location stinks. I've been here twice and wasn't happy with either of my visits. The first time they were out of Red Velvet Cookies. This doesn't sound like a huge deal, but it was literally like 11:15am. How are you out of Red Velvet Cookies at 11:15am on a weekday? I think you probably ought to maybe...make MORE or something?? They were almost out of every kind of cookie and the day wasn't even half over! The second time it was about 11:30 and it was clearly the start of the lunch rush. They had one - ONE - person working the register. By the time I actually got to the front of the line (which took well over 10 minutes), there were at LEAST ten people behind me waiting. And still, only one person working the register. This location is by the Southcenter Mall, so it is incredibly popular. How about hiring a few more people to work the register...?? Other than that, the food has always tasted fresh and fairly close to what I am used to at other Panera locations. But I really don't want to come back to this location anymore because it just isn't good. So, boo. read more

I get it, I really do. I have worked a lot of years in restaurants so I get that the workers are over-worked and underpaid and probably deal with a lot of rude people. I do keep that in mind whenever I eat out anywhere. During the daytime, this place is insane. Line is out the door, tables almost all full. The workers are marginally friendly. Friendly enough that I don't hate dealing with them. Some of them are much friendlier than others, just like anywhere else. Food is solid. During the night time, all bets are off. Do not patronize them at night. My husband and I went in an hour before closing and they were all surly. Like I said, I get it. It takes a long time to close down a restaurant and the closer people come in to closing the worse it is for them. When I come in an hour before closing (and I mean an hour, not five minutes- I'd never do that) I don't expect that my salad would basically be thrown together with an obscene amount of vinaigrette in the middle of my non-tossed salad. I don't expect that you'd give me a multi-grain baguette when I asked for the french. I also don't expect that you would not put cheese on my lukewarm french onion soup, when french onion soup is made from four basic components- one of them being cheese. I should have complained, really, but none of them seemed to give a crap anyways, so I knew my complaints would fall on deaf ears. I patronized this location many many many times, and I will not return. The food is solid (when prepared correctly), but I can't take such chances with my $9.
