I've worked in Long Beach for over 10 years now, and finally made it over to Panini's. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the bread....BURT bread!!! Turn off number one. I ordered a grilled cheese and soup, and the other two co-workers ordered some other fancy shmacy sandwiches. It took about 25 minutes to get three sandwiches, a salad, and a cup of soup. Apparently, they dropped two if the sammys and had to remake them, but instead of letting us know, we were just standing there, waiting while everyone else was eating, and walking away with their orders. Mind you, those were the people who ordered AFTER we did. All in all, the grilled cheese was ok, and the soup was piping hot, which is a good thing. Will I go back? Probably not. I love panini's and this is a great spot for lunch... Tends to get pretty crowded during the lunch rush and parking can be hard to find... But the panini's are delicious.. I've had their turkey avocado and chicken caesar panini's but my favorite is the chicken pesto with sun-dried tomatoes... My co-workers and I have been coming to Panini's for lunch for years. We have done both take-out and dine-in. Their food is consistently good; every time we are there we are never disappointed. We have tried many of the menu selections and my favorites are their turkey avocado panini, prosciutto panini, chicken caesar salad, and any soup they have. They started to offer freshly baked goods, such as danishes, muffins, cupcakes and macarons - oh their macarons are soooo yummy! This is a family-owned business and they really care about the food quality and customer satisfaction. I've been frequenting this place for lunch since they opened in 2002, and I have never once been disappointed by my meal. The only thing that may have held back a 5 start rating in the past was that due to the dog groomers next door, if you ate your sandwich out on the patio, you were treated to the frangrance of dog urine. Unfortunately for the groomer but fortunately for patrons di Panini's the groomer has washed their last dog and expressed their last anal gland. I have a very full stomach right now.... I ordered a panini and salad. The turkey cranberry panini was really good, although very messy. You potentially need a fork and knife or at least a lot of napkins. The turkey used is more deli meat than thanksgiving, but it makes it not as dry as it might be otherwise. The berry salad was good, strawberries and pecans. The portions were big, I probably will have this for lunch over 2 days. Love this place! I've been coming here for almost two years now, and the quality of food and service has famines consistent! I usually don't write reviews, but my breakfast this morning (breakfast burrito, country potatoes, and fresh fruit all for $6) compelled me to type this! I usually get the Chinese chicken salad for lunch and a few homemade chocolate chip cookies for the road.
