My band. RELAAY stayed next to The Pantry at El Rey Court. Since it was within walking distance and had good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I got the chicken sandwich and an iced tea to go. The sandwich was big and tasted great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend it if you're in the area.

When we visit Santa Fe ir travel through and it's breakfast, this is one of our go to's! Excellent service, excellently prepared good. Good coffee. This part time they were particularly efficient, we were in and out in 30 minutes. Thoroughly enjoyed it and kept us to a tight schedule.

This place has gone down the tubes big time. $30 for a hamburger and fries and a cup of green chili stew. The manager tonight stood right in front of me, yelling loudly at his staff about his life and the service sucked. The place was almost empty and it took forever to get my food. They got my main order wrong. It was pretty good, but not great. I used to love this place, so it's kind of sad.

One of our best meals in New Mexico so far and we've been to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos. The food quality is top notch, the service is friendly, pleasant, and quick. Very accommodating staff. Margaritas as good as any around Santa Fe plaza and much better price 30-40% less depending on what type you order. This is where the locals go. That should tell you something. Will definitely come back.

First time eating chile relleno and an omelette together (sides: biscuit and pantry potatoes). It sounded a little weird to me at first, but I had to try it and it was so delicious! I asked for the spiciest salsa, and it did not disappoint. You should definitely try it! They also have other salsas that are less spicy. :) Everyone was friendly, and the place was clean. The tables are a little close to each other, but it wasn't a problem. I also loved the mint chocolates at the exit they reminded me of the chocolates you get at Olive Garden.

The food was very good and the service was great. My daughter said the steak was delicious. This restaurant is a Santa Fe staple. The ambiance was busy diner. My daughter also had the cheesecake and she said it was good. I recommend the Pantry.

Recommend: No Food: I ordered the chilaquiles, which come with Tortilla chips sautéed with chile, cheese, and onions. Served with two eggs, beans, pantry fries, and garnish. The chips were fresh and crunchy (they grab them out of a big tub that's under the register), they are doused with chile sauce and I think cheddar cheese. I asked for the eggs over hard and they came sunny side up. They had to remake them. The beans tasted as if they were from a can and the potato's were there. The entire plate was bland other than the chiles spicy was. My mom got the brisket tacos and she said they were dry and also lacked seasoning. She said the same about the beans. Service: They are extremely busy so service was slow. I never got a refill on my coffee and it took a while to get my check. We were not checked on throughout the visit and we were sitting at the counter which is literally across from the kitchen and wait staff continually passed us by. Ambiance: it reminded me of an old timey diner with the counter seating across from the kitchen. It is somewhat old but very busy. Be prepared for long wait times. I am def the odd person here in that I did not care for the food here. Not sure how other people gave it the ratings that it has.

Great food every time we have been here. I got breakfast which was eggs, pan sausage and a pancake (instead of toast). You have to try the sopapias here -- they are famous for them. Attaching a picture of them. Some folks like honey, some powdered sugar and my niece likes butter and honey. You can tell they make them from scratch and they are huge. Hope you enjoy them. The Pantry is one of our favorite places when we r in Santa Fe. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is relaxed and homey. You might have to wait for a table, but it will be worth it. Enjoy!

We saw a crowd waiting the day before so we had to try it. Was told a 30 minute wait, but was much less. Great service. Ordered, food came relatively quickly. The cinnamon roll was huge - we shared - and very sweet! My breakfast "sandwich" was just ok, kinda mushy and not a lot of flavor. I got without chiles - so I think it may depend on this. Mom ordered the steak, gravy on side - came with gravy on it. I think they wanted to hide that it was not crispy but chewy. I don't know that we will be back in Santa Fe again, but if we are - looking for somewhere else for breakfast!

Great service. Love to stop here when in Santa Fe! I ordered the smothered burrito with bacon. I LOVE the chile when in NM. Unfortunately, my palate doesn't tolerate high heat, so I have to get the chile smothering on the side. The chile had an excellent flavor. The amount of cheese in the heavily stuffed burrito was parfecto!

We travelled from California to Nevada, then California, Nevada again, then Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and back to New Mexico in the last week and this was our favorite meal of the entire week! Delicious Blue Corn Pancakes, Huevos Rancheros, and breakfast with Carne Adovada! Very cute place a super friendly staff.

This is a true fast-paced diner, and it nails the experience every time. The food is consistently spot on, the service is exactly what you'd expect fast, friendly, and your coffee cup is never empty. But also...there is no rush...you can take your time!!!! This is the OG location, so it feels like a local hangout, and the ambiance matches. Classic New Mexico diner vibes all the way. We go every time we're in town, always for breakfast. Whether it's just two eggs over easy or something more complex, it always hits the mark. And the cinnamon buns? Worth a stop on their own. Seriously good. If you're visiting Santa Fe, don't skip this place. 10/10.

72 years! That's how long this place has been in business and it's no wonder. The best breakfast chile in Santa Fe can be found at the Pantry. The breakfast burrito and red chile home fries are great and the ownership is friendly and hilarious. Ask for a side of Christmas chile and you'll get both red and green sauces which are highly recommended. Their outdoor patio is heated so it's a comfortable, COVID friendly atmosphere. This place pumps out to-go orders in the middle of a pandemic so you know it's good. A MUST breakfast spot. read more

If this isn't a 5 star restaurant, then I don't know what is. The other 1,110 reviews aren't lying, this place is the real deal and the breakfast burrito is absolutely fantastic. I had mine Christmas style with carne adovado added ($2 extra but oh so worth it). The red + green chile were both very, very good and I'm glad Pantry was our first stop for New Mexican food in Santa Fe...except I'm afraid nothing will top it. Every single thing on the breakfast burrito plate blew my mind. The meat and the eggs in the burrito, the chile, and...almost above all else...THE PANTRY FRIES! Do not miss out on these, probably no joke the best potato side dish I have had at a restaurant in years. They're sort of a hash brown/home fry type item but much more melt-in-your-mouth. We figured they were cooked with meat or in fat, since they are so smooth and SO flavorful, but turns out they just use oil + paprika. They totally absorb some of the flavor from the other stuff swimming around on the plate though. It all just works together so well. Honestly one of the best meals I have had in a long time. My mom had a unique item, the chile relleno omelette, an entire chile relleno wrapped inside an omelette smothered in chile. This was exquisite as well, and I'm not usually even a huge chile relleno guy. But wow it was tasty. When we got to Pantry we had to wait outside for about 15 minutes, which was annoying because it was hot, but once we actually got seated the food came out LIGHTNING FAST! Super suprising given how busy they were. One of the only places in Santa Fe that seemed to be open on Sunday night. Don't ignore a restaurant with 4.5 stars and over 1100 reviews. It's like that for a reason!! read more

I'm from out of town and got take-out. I'm a huuuuge fan of breakfast burritos, and was so excited when I read online that Santa Fe somewhat invented the breakfast burrito. Anyway, I got the breakfast burrito with chorizo smothered Christmas style, and I was not disappointed!! Both the green and the red sauce were very flavorful and unique from one another. I was a little worried at first that it'd be too spicy since I've never had New Mexican food, but neither were super spicy... it was the perfect kick. The side potatoes were also stellar. My only complaint is the contents of the burrito weren't varied... it was just egg and chorizo. But it was a lot of it! The price is also super great for the portion. It's HUGE! read more

This seems to be a classic Santa Fe traditional family restaurant hundreds of great reviews didn't lie. I had the fish tacos while my husband had beef tacos. Mine came in two soft corn tortillas, his in crispy taco shells. All of our food was exceptionally tasty, even the rice and beans. The salsa was spicy but not overwhelming. I especially liked the fresh sliced avocado and lemons on my fish tacos. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Service was easygoing. This is perfect old Santa Fe for me. We are giving this restaurant five stars for everything here. The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding, the restaurant was clean, and the employees were all very busy. Nothing screams "great food" like a waiting line and years in business! I love places like The Pantry, an old (but clean) diner-type building that one would usually drive past without a second consideration. don't do that! Excellent and worth a stop ANY TIME you deign to drive past. the food is great, the staff is attentive even when hurried. I'm a local from Santa Fe. I hadn't been to the Pantry in quite awhile. The service was good. I ordered a cheese enchilada. I was very disappointed, the corn tortillas were so hard in spite of cobs of cheese and Chile covering it. The cheese absorbed all the Chile. I couldn't eat the enchilada. what happened Pantry? This place has the best service that we experienced in Santa Fe. We were greeted and sat immediately, server came by within a minute to get a drink order, returned with drinks so fast (and the place was packed!). We ordered breakfast, the Durango omlette and Lindo scramble, and multiple employees checked on us within us taking the first few bites to see if everything was okay. Food was very good! read more

Located an hr from ABQ, this place is definitely worth going to especially if you're in the Santa Fe area... Amazing. We were quite stuffed from the Burger stand. However, we couldn't leave Santa Fe without trying this spot..Undeniably, one of my favorite places to eat in all of New Mexico cause the food in ABQ was ehh.. Chicken Quesadilla:. I was kinda sick and tired from all the breakfast burritos and decided to try their Chicken Quesadilla. It was ON POINT SON. Great dish. Comes with Guac and Sour Creme too. Cinnamon Bun: What is up with New Mexico and their Cinnamon buns? It seems like they are the staple of every New mexican restaurant but hey.... No complaints here. I called to correct this with the manager, Ruben, who assured me I would not be charged for their mistake. Not only was I charged, but it was 3 days later. We had tried to come for lunch on our first day but the wait was longer than we wanted so we came back this morning nice and early for breakfast. We were seated immediately and had half the restaurant to ourselves. Service was fast and friendly. The chili relleno omelet was calling my name with a side of grits. The hubs went with over easy eggs, home fries and a cinnamon roll. All of the food was standard fare that was tasty but not necessarily mind blowing. My only complaint is that the stem of my chili was in the omelet. The home fries were my personal favorite of everything we ate. If you get here early you have a pretty good chance of being seated right away. A huge wait wouldn't be in my wheelhouse for the food at the end of it. read more

I think the best diners in the country are in New Mexico. It seems like every few years, Santa Fe calls me back for a short trip, and I get a chance to eat amazing food. This time, I decided to take advantage of the fact that I had a rental car and venture a little bit further afield than Tia Sophia's. I'm glad I did. My review will be short because my meal was perfect. My huevos rancheros (Christmas-style, of course) had a welcome amount of chile, and a modest but persistent heat; the beans were great; and the sopapilla, large and light and yet satisfying was just right for wiping the plate. A example of a great mom and pop restaurant with all the qualities. Great taste, value, quantity and atmosphere. This place takes me back to eating breakfast in my grandmas kitchen. The Chile has just the right heat and the flavor. The potatoes are amazing. Cooked with just the right amount of softness on the outside but the crisp on the outside. I had the chicken fried steak that was outstanding. It melted in your mouth and you could tell it was definitely made to order. Eggs were done correctly and coffee was kept full. Went there for a late breakfast. They serve breakfast all day, was glad of that because our hotel's "breakfast" was practically nonexistent. We got there at 11:30 and the place was packed. We had a 15 minute wait, which I took as a good sign. The restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside but it got great reviews so we tried it. We were served immediately in spite of the very busy early lunch rush. I ordered the veggie omelet, which I enjoyed. They serve pancakes, which I didn't order but wish I had've. There was no kids' menu for my 11 YO so she just ordered an omelet, but it was really too much for her and we had to box it up. A kids' menu would have been helpful. The food was good but it was basic diner-style food. I didn't care for the coffee -- I'm not a huge coffee drinker but some brands are better than others! Prices were OK and service was pretty efficient in spite of how busy they were. I'd go again, but maybe I'd go earlier and beat the lunch crowd! read more

This is one of my all-time favorite places to go in Santa Fe and has been for more than 20 years when I lived in SF in 1999. I'm back working here and visit often and have found everything is still just as great as I remember: The service, the red and green Chile, the yummy home fried potatoes-as well as non-New Mexican foods like chicken fried steak and pancakes. Oh, and the coffee is strong and tasty. Truly the quintessential diner experience, complete with a long bar for singles to saddle up and tuck into their plate for a quicker breakfast or lunch. read more

Since its inception, there have been seven different owner-operators or stewards of the Pantry who have nurtured it and brought it to where it is today. We ordered flights of white and none of them were cold enough. I understand if they had been reds, but on a hot summer day, one just craves a cold glass of wine and/or bubbly. Once we were done tasting our wines and the food arrived, we had to ask a couple of times/people to remove the large glasses and apparatus they rested in from our table since there wasn't room for everything. The hummus and pita with hot honey and feta was pretty good, and our son loved his pasta dish from the kids menu, but that was the extent of the magic here. The paninis the rest of our party ordered were again, just ok. When I went to the restroom I was appalled. There was some really gross stuff sticking to the wall next to the toilet; I couldn't tell if it was barf or poop, but it really turned me off. Good thing we were already on our way out. The atmosphere is kind of a New Orleans vibe with a high ceiling and covered terrace upstairs with plants that you can see from the downstairs area. That was nice. The day before when I was walking around the Plaza, they had a big carafe of fruit-infused ice water outside the restaurant with plastic cups for people to help themselves to, and it was super refreshing. That was the best thing about this place.

We went here for dinner while in Santa Fe and the food was outstanding. I was a little disappointed with the enchiladas I had the night before and still had a craving, so we gave it a try and was not disappointed. I got the basic cheese enchiladas, which come with a sopapilla, and everything was delicious. The enchiladas: perfect tortilla to cheese ratio. The rice: flavorful and just a little dry, in a good way. The beans: smoky and a perfect complement to the rest of the meal. The sopapilla was one of the best I've had anywhere -- soft and chewy. My friend was jealous and ordered one after finishing dinner. Service was attentive without being annoying -- my water glass was never empty and I was actually shocked at how quickly the food came out. I think the whole meal took less than 45 minutes, and we weren't rushed at all. The only disappointment was the glass of Chardonnay I drank, or rather didn't drink, which was sweet and just gross. Although I'm not sure what I expected for $6.50. It was such a good meal that I didn't take off a star. Next time I'll order a beer. read more

I wanted to share my response to the previous review pointing out that Pantry has chosen to promote Black Lives Matter and serve non-whites. Dear Kris - Thank you for making me aware of the way Pantry believes it should use its voice on social issues rather than just serve food that patrons order. Once I learned that the owners believe they have to include social commentary and their beliefs that #BlackLivesMatter and they serve everyone that walks through the door, I made sure that when we drove past we made a u-turn and our entire party dined there and had an absolutely wonderful dinner. Friendly staff, happy customers, delicious food, and impeccable service made this a lovely, delicious dining experience. We will definitely return to try their expansive breakfast menu. In short, THANK YOU, PANTRY, for being an upstanding member of the community, for making all people welcome, and for making the world a slightly better place, one meal at a time. Absolutely loved my experience at the Pantry Restaurant in Santa Fe! This place has such a cozy vibe, nestled in a stunning adobe-style home that perfectly captures the essence of New Mexico. The earthy tones and charming decor make you feel right at home. We had a short wait of about 20-30 minutes for a table for four, but we got seated in just 10 minutes--score! The service was fantastic; our server was super friendly and attentive, making us feel like VIPs from the moment we walked in. I went for the Brisket Tacos, and oh wow, they were a flavor explosion! The brisket was super tender and smoky, topped with creamy cheese, fresh onions, and ripe avocado, all wrapped up with juicy tomatoes. And that house-made salsa? It added the perfect kick! As a tourist, always looking for a great place to eat where the locals hang out. This place fits the bill. Looking around, not a tourist in sight. This place was awesome. A great service by a great team of servers. I visited the place for breakfast and also for dinner and it was not disappointing. For what I experienced I think that this place is always good for a calm and warm breakfast. But for dinner I had to wait for a bit longer to get inside. But whatever, it was a good experience for me at all. And also not to forget I ordered the fish tacos, was well seasoned. The salsa had a great kick to it. Another great breakfast before heading to work with Dakota. My former boss texted me and told me I had to take down a review from another business or she would make sure we got fired, doesn't want legal troubles........but it was my review not hers. My former boss actually had my girlfriend fired today.......saying that we were saying untruths about a business that was a customer of Smiths....BS They can't prove it and we will fight with the Union and I will have my former boss fired for this crap. French would be my go-to breakfast if I could eat it everyday and not gain a pound from it. With that said when deciding on whether or not a restaurant is good for breakfast this is what I order. I was pleasantly surprised after the long (30 minute wait) that the French toast was scrumptious! It was light and fluffy, covered with powdered sugar, and all around tasty. I did have to wait a bit longer than I would've wished but they were busy and I can understand that. It was worth the wait and the prices are very reasonable. I will be back, keep the French toast ready! read more

Good place to go to eat at. Food was delicious. We sat at the bar. Service was pretty fast. Also, I post my reviews after I go to a place. Customers when you are searching for reviews Yelp filters and holds businesses hostage by putting up the negative reviews first to bully small businesses. Be careful and as a consumer I really dislike Yelp. But, I need people to be aware of this. The restaurant was good. Liked their service. Order the Corned Beef with 2 over easy eggs, tortillas, and a side of GREEN chile. Both their red and green chile are excellent...you can't go wrong either way. If you can't make up your mind, go Christmas. Whatever you decide on eating I recommend asking for "chile on the side" instead of saying "extra chile" because they give you more chile. I really like their chile and just want a ton of it on whatever I'm ordering. Friendly staff that remember you and almost feel like family. I highly recommend when you come to Santa Fe. read more

Absolutely wonderful food here, every time I am in New Mexico I MUST stop by and get the vegetarian burrito (sans cheese!) with green sauce smothering. The food has always been terrific, and for vegans like myself what's also important is I can trust the cooks to not sully my food, their beans are cooked without lard and isolated from the meat items. What's also great about the place is you can talk with other diners, you can share what you're eating (at least visually!) and everybody talks about how good their meals are. read more

Consistently one of the THE MOST overrated eating experiences in Santa Fe. This is "New Mexican" for tourists (and apparently new to Santa Fe residents). It's not bad food, and the prices are reasonable. Expect to wait, and wait and wait to be seated. At the end of the day it's just kind of blah foods. Put enough cheese and chili on something, and we'll still eat it, but the veggies always look sad, the meat is not great quality. It's a Santa Fe food institution running on auto-pilot. read more

Visited The Pantry Restaurant today and was genuinely impressed! The Frito Pie was a delightful fusion of crunch and flavor, evoking a true Southwestern charm. The Combination Plate was a culinary tour of New Mexican favorites, each bite better than the last. But the standout for us was the Adovado Pork, tender and bursting with flavor. Service was impeccable and the ambiance carried an authentic Santa Fe vibe. Can't wait to come back and sample more from their menu! Highly recommend. read more

I am a fan! How can you NOT be? At The Pantry you can always count on authentic, consistent Northern New Mexico fare that is cooked well and served with good cheer. Its loved by tourists and locals alike and everyone gets great service. My favorite is breakfast - LOVE the Buenos Dias plate with sides of guac and bacon - and there's always enough left over to take home for another great breakfast the next day. Their chiles are OUTSTANDING. A must for visitors to our sweet city. read more

Bay Area boy visiting New Mexico for he first time. Really enjoyed this place. Such a great feel good restaurant to grub & do work. Bomb Steak & Enchiladas. Owner was super nice. They're playing xmas music. And many of their kitchen staff communicate via sign language. Such a beautiful and inclusive community. Staff was super friendly. Great price for a good diner meal. Great place to get original New Mexican food! The red and green chilli sauces are the best in the state! My wife is a New Mexican, and says it's the best she's tasted. Great food selections, you can get breakfast all day. I had a breakfast burrito with carne adovada topped with green and red chili. Delish! Great food, great service, fun atmosphere. I am very conservative when it comes to giving "STARS" but dont get me wrong, I eat breakfast at the pantry once a week. This is the only place in Santa Fe that knows how to cook an egg. I ask for eggs cooked soft and they get it right every time. The service is better than you'd expect for a casual restaurant, courteous and attentive. They have really good coffee too. Hands down they have the best chili in town. read more

I loved this restaurant. Three of us went for breakfast and all of us ordered burritos, French roast, and Relleno Omelet. The home fries are really quite tasty and we love to sit at the counter and meet new folks, locals as well as tourists. Every bite gives unique flavors to my taste buds. I found it by searching american fare santa fe. This place was awesome!! Great breakfast food, fresh cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit bowls, awesome black bean burger and homemade chips.
