The food combinations are at best marginal as well in the taste and seasoning. For the process charged, they should really focus on season and proportions served. I ordered the"Stacked Enchiladas." The chicken was dry and flavorless. The two kinds of enchilada Salcedo was not in the least bit complimentary. Yo make matters worse, no beans or rice was served with the plate that looked as though they had prepare the meal for a toddler. I haven't been here in over two years. I typically prefer their happy hour menu because they offer traditional style tacos as opposed to the regular menu but we were in the area with our dogs and needed somewhere to eat that allowed dogs outside. My boyfriend loved his Fry Bread taco and I enjoyed my mushroom mole (vegan) enchiladas. If you're hoping for traditional style tacos, come during happy hour. Now the presentation was beautiful but that was it. Moving along here the seasonal peach cobbler is better than most soul food restaurants. It's made with fresh peaches not CAN PEACHES. It is a must try before it's gone for good. I was informed by our waitress that we should come back after 3pm for happy hour. They are known for their potato tacos and let's all say it together SHORT RIB tacos. They also have great deals on drinks and apps. Last thing! I promise if you are planning on going to Happy Hour, Dinner or Weekend Brunch make a reservation. Trust me you will need too. Oh and give yourself enough time to find parking. Made reservations for four at noon on Sunday, which I was very happy the restaurant accepted (some don't because it's high brunch volume). At 11am, I realized we needed six - when I called it was accommodated quickly. Several of us had been here before and very much enjoyed the service and menu offerings. Nothing changed there - the service today was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone liked everything they ordered, including the drinks! We went here for the first time last night and we're not disappointed! We got the guava margarita, michelada and ceviche to start! Ceviche was amazing! So fresh and had a little bit of sweetness to it. I got the fry bread taco with chicken and my partner got the stacked enchilada with short rib and Christmas sauce. The fry bread was perfect! Experience: This is a cute restaurant for brunch. They have a boho, beachy feel with their decor and ambiance. I was really sad that the creme brulee French toast was sold out (apparently it's a popular menu item), but the cornbread chicken and waffle to my surprise was really good. My fiancé and I have been here multiple times in the last 3 years and we always leave feeling the same, not satisfied. We just love the ambiance and the service is also very good. The drinks are usually great, except they recently got new bar tenders and they don't make the lavender old fashion the same as before. It's my fiancés favorite My guava margarita was phenomenal tho! The apps were good but lacked salt and needed a little something more to make it great. Both our entrees were not that great. The burger was nothing special and my stacked enchiladas did not taste good. The short ribs in them were good but still lacked salt and flavor, but texture was perfect. It was our first time there and they were very accommodating and helpful with their recommendations. They have a small outside area where we opted to sit to get some fresh air. Honestly, we were looking for a place with bottomless mimosas, and we were pretty disappointed when they said that they don't do that here. The waiter mentioned that they do sell a bottle of champagne for $20 and a flight of four juices for $3. We were skeptical of it, but decided to try it out anyways. The green chili was ok, preferred more authentic style but not bad. I wish they had sopadillas but the food was great. They offered "Christmas style" where you can only find in New Mexico. Arriving at this Eastend DTLB corner restaurant on hipster East Broadway on a very recent Saturday night without reservations, we sat outside overlooking a quiet residential street. Having driven by this intriguingly named eatery several times and either seeing the full house or the beguiling name we made it a point to try a drop in very soon. Now the occasion that warranted it; prior to a Long Beach Terrace theater concert not 10 minutes away. And we're so glad we did! So not Brazilian as first thought, but fusion Latin American/New Mexican with SoCal veggie options and of course plenty of beguilingly named mixed drinks featuring of course Tequila. Chef Arthur Gonzales has a history here in Long Beach with the seafood place in nearby Belmont Shores - Roe, which we've enjoyed. And our super friendly waiter explain quickly and energetically that the cuisine was a fusion New Mexican...mostly. I'm difficult, with a paleo vegetarian-vegan predilection and so much was out - corn, beans, gluten, etc. etc. so when I spied in small plates and sides the goat cheese stuffed squash blossoms (how much gluten can there be in a thin tempura style batter?) and goat cheese is always a go and the sweet potato hash with chorizo - I had my order. In retrospect it all worked beautifully. What a delightful rush of flavors, sweet poblano honey, salty and velvety cheese and the tang of chili melding well to create gastronomic sparks - a bit muted by the hash which while good was lifeless in comparison - but then it was a side after all. My wife ordered as I knew she would - the fry bread Taco with Short Rib meat - and sampling the meat and veggies and regrettably avoiding the fry bread, I was struck by the intensity of flavors again, chili, the oh so soft and striated tinga style meat - suffice to say we both devoured our orders quickly and happily, and vowed then and there to try more on the menu - the next time. Surprised though not to see Sopapillas on the dessert menu - that delectable New Mexican postre consisting of nothing more than a deep fried pillow of dough creating a light and crispy ball either dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled inside with honey or both - like one gets everywhere in Santa Fe (try to remember anything else after eating one!) So aside from donut holes and a Biscochito a very traditional NM cookie flavored with anise and cinnamon - you might do better elsewhere for postres. We made a vow to return to try the New Mexican Pizza and the stacked Enchiladas assembled with corn cakes (sure I'll make an exception to Paleo- life's too short). For those seeking mucho sabor, and well just something different - Panxa (belly) Cocina should be at the top of your list when next in the area. Oh yeah and blue corn is available here on the Brunch menu - hopefully it'll be added to the dinner menu sometime very soon. Buen apetito! read more

The pinky promise was lighter but taste really good if you drink fast enough before the ice melts. The blood orange old fashion, for a heavy whiskey drinker it was really light. There are actual bits of corn in the waffles and the chicken was still juicy after about an hour of taking photos. Get this! - Lavender Old Fashioned - sweet and floral, but I couldn't fully taste the lavender. Still great, but I'll try a different drink next time. Service: Shelby was our main server and was great about checking in on us, as well as the other blonde server - even though she didn't have to since we weren't in her section! She helped us choose our dishes and we enjoyed every one. Frank, the manager, was extremely kind. The food here is fantastic! I found this restaurant on Yelp and had high expectations due to all of the great reviews. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. My friends and I started off with drinks - mimosa flight for two of us and a Bloody Mary for the third. I recommend the prickly pear juice for the mimosas. My friend said the Bloody Mary was really good. We stared with Green Chili Cornbread and the Goat Cheese Stuffed Squash Blossoms. Both were delicious. For entrees, I had the stacked enchiladas with short ribs and Christmas sauce (1/2 green sauce, 1/2 red sauce). I asked for extra sauce on the side as some of the reviews said this dish can get a bit dry, which I agreed with after I started eating the entree. Get the extra sauce. My friends had the Panxa Benedicto and posole. Both were very happy with their choices. All in all, this was a great meal and I can't wait to go back as so many items on their menu looked good.
