My husband and I have passed by this pizzeria dozens of times since we moved to the area, and we finally decided to give it a try this week. The menu spans a surprisingly diverse array of entrees, given the fact that it calls itself a pizzeria. Pizzas can be purchased by the slice or as freshly made pies, and we opted to try a mushroom and sausage slice from the counter. The food is decent. I thought both pizza slices could have used more sauce, but both had impressively rigid crusts after their trip in the oven, so much that there were audible crunches when we took our first bites. My husband opted for a Mediterranean salad and asked for chicken to be added on top. Imagine our surprise when we got the salad and there was not only a steaming pile of seasoned chicken slices, but also big slices of fried eggplant. I would've never expected such a fantastic salad from a humble pizzeria, but my husband promised the owner he'd be returning just for that salad. The fried calamari, on the other hand, was more of a disappointment, with a salty exterior and a few tough and rubbery pieces. I don't think anyone ever visits a pizzeria for its ambiance, but this was definitely one that's seen better days. The restaurant seems a little on the older side, and the signs appeared to be yellowing. That said, the folks behind the counter were incredibly warm and hardworking, and I like to support such a local neighborhood spot. Papas pizzeria has delicious food and I personally would say they make one of the best marinara sauces that I've tried from almost any pizzeria locally. The grilled chicken salads are amazing. It doesn't matter what type of salad you got the grilled chicken they make is really good whether you get it well done or regularly. It's always delicious. They actually make amazing sandwiches also and the service is great, for example, the workers are well educated on the menu and the menu items and if they don't know the answer to a question, they will always ask, which is great. It's a really chill place to be. They have five tables altogether and it's comfortable there and spacious at the same time. There is a new menu that I added the pictures to so that way it's updated. I would recommend that you trying a grilled chicken anything because the grilled chicken is really good or chicken Parm sandwich is good also if you like pork, I would recommend the meatballs. They are delicious. This pizzeria also has beef patties, which is a rarity and they have the best brand of beef patties if you are around Bogota stop by and try Papa's pizzeria! read more

When I lived in this area roughly a decade ago, this is where we always had dinner every Wednesday. Specifically that day because it's when they had their special. Of course it was the first place I ate at since I'm in town for the week visiting. I gave my nephew the menu and had him pick. He decided to be adventurous and picked the Taco Pie. I told him I love tacos. My verdict from 10 years ago stands today. I don't love the pies here, but they do the job. They can be a little pricey for what you get. I did notice last night that I was charged the same amount for the Large size even though I opted for medium. I didn't notice it until I got home. Service has always been good. No complaints there. Flew into NY but after cancelled flights and delays, wanted to get out of the city ASAP. After 14 hours of travel, I was hangry and tired and just needed to eat something. Pap's pizzeria is a sad establishment. I honestly could make a better sandwich in my own kitchen. I got a tuna wrap, literally looked like someone put tuna, one piece of lettuce, and decided to put it on my table. Honestly... it was awful. My sister got a burger and felt the exact same way. The burger was dry, tasteless and not even well cooked. It was a sincere waste of a $12. Go somewhere else if you're looking for a decent meal. AVOID this place at all costs. read more

If I could give this place 0 star, I would. We ordered pizza and wings there twice, and both times they came awful. The wings were not evenly coated and it lacked sauce and flavor; after a few bites of some of the wings, I found some meat close to the bone uncooked!! Gross! Chicken wings are so easy to make and you can find it everywhere. To be honest, I have never eaten any wings that are remotely awful like the one in Papa's pizzeria, never ate such awful wings ever anywhere else. 2012 Update I don't know what happened to the food here, but it is definitely not what it used to be! I'm sitting here eating a Pizza Margherita that was made with canned tomatoes. Really? Never in my life have I eaten a slice of Pizza Margherita that was not made with fresh tomatoes. They used to have good salads. I used to enjoy their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, but that was years ago. I ordered it a few months ago and it was unrecognizable compared to it's previous preparation. This time the croutons were tiny and square and easily from a box, the dressing was cheap food service grade dressing, and the rest of the salad was totally forgettable. We also used to like to order their spaghetti and meatballs, until the last time we ordered that which was also several months ago. Their once mild sauce which tasted like it was authentically home cooked was now way too salty and spicy. Their meatballs had more breading than meat. It was actually very embarrassing. Here I am telling family members that they have good food and then we order a meal to be delivered and it's horrible! I really didn't want to write this update and have been putting it off but after today's pizza, I felt that it had to be said. I really wish Papa's would step up their game and bring back the quality of food that they used to serve. 2008 Original This place serves good food. My office used to order lunch from them many times. They serve one of the best pizza slices that you will find in NJ, almost as good as NY pizza. ;) All of their portions are huge. This was pretty bad. Everything tasted really cheap and like they just didn't care. Sauce tasted like Prego, cheese tasted like chemicals. Also, the girl behind the counter set our box down on a fresh pie. Getting grease and sauce on the bottom of the box, not to mention a box on top of food people were going to eat. I recently moved back to Teaneck and while I have never given it a chance in the past, I am now down the street and figured, why not?! The pizza is pretty good, and probably better than what I expected. They have $8.00 pizzas on Wednesdays and the quality is always the same. The people who work there are also nice and don't give an attitude when they are busy, We have since created pizza Wednesday because this place and would definitely call it one of the best deals in town! I ordered 2 sandwiches. The first one was a buffalo chicken hero, it was empty. There was 1 inch of just bread on both sides of the sandwich. I basically bought a loaf of bread, sprinkled with chicken. The second was a shrimp parm, there was parts of the tail shell inside the sandwich. read more

I've been going to Papa's for about 10 years now and the pizza is the best around. They make eggplant parm here, as well as an eggplant pizza that is to die for! I also love their chicken caeser salad, they make it fresh and the chicken is warm, yum. I'm sure everything on the menu is delish.
