Was I the area so I made a stop and ordered some drinks to take home. Street parking is available, but during busy hours you might need to drive around the block a few times. There are a few tables and chairs outside where you can sit and enjoy your drinks. My barista was friendly, knowledgeable about their drinks, and very attentive. No pastry sold by Paper Son at this location unlike the Soma location! If you're looking for salt bread, they do not have that. Pastry is sold by a separate cafe that they share the same shop with. The drinks are great and reasonably priced. I like how you can customize the sweetness of the matcha and hojicha. They're quick to make the drinks. There are seats outside that you can sit on. Americano pandan ($6.50), definitely needs more pandan flavor, looks like you can just ask the barista for more pandan flavor (did not realize when ordering), but it was okay. A fantastic place to pick up Asian fusion drinks and pastries! They have some great flavors and twists on traditional drinks and bites. Note that this space is actually a combination of 2 businesses in partnership with Neighbor Bakehouse, where Paper Sons specializes in coffee while Bakehouse provides the pastries (both vegetarian and meat options). Cha siu: 10/10 my favorite thing to get here! Salty, sweet meat in a layered pastry nicely paired with pickled cabbage. Ube croissant: 7/10 delicious and sweet! Maybe a bit sweeter than I would have liked. I would have liked it to have a stronger ube and less sugary taste. Savory curry potato pastry: 7/10 this one is more on the dry potato side than a true curry filling. Guava tonic coffee: 7/10 sparkling, tart, and earthy. Not bad! This might be more of an acquired taste. Was not too sweet. Thai Tea Cloud: 8/10 I love Thai tea, this one errs on the sweeter side though. I came here during my lunch break today. This is located in Dogpatch, and it occupies the same space as Neighbor Bakehouse. You can either order online or at the window. I loooove pandan, so I really wanted to try their pandan coffee. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and added pandan syrup. There wasn't anyone else waiting when I was there, so my drink was ready within minutes. When the barista handed me my drink, they said they can adjust and add more pandan if I wanted, which I thought was very nice of them to offer. The drink was very good, but I did ask for more pandan. Like I said, I love pandan, so I wanted a strong pandan flavor. The drink was delicious. It was probably one of the best pandan coffees I've had. It was sweet, but I didn't think it was so sweet that it ruined the drink. I will definitely come back here in the future! read more

I was standing in line for Neighbor Bakehouse and seems like this was a little coffee shop connected to it, with it's own separate line and window. I liked that while standing in line for the pastries, you can scan the QR code to place an order for your drinks so that you don't have to wait in two lines. I tried their passionfruit espresso tonic as I thought it sounded like a unique combo. Definitely was an interesting flavor and it took a few sips for me to get used to it, but after I wrapped my head around it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. 9/6/25 - I randomly saw Paper Son Coffee on the way to Sōhn and decided to go here instead! I actually had been wanting to go here, but never knew where it was. It's such a cute cafe with delicious ginger pull apart pastry! I thought their guava pillow was really pretty and interesting, but idk if I'd drink it again. Paper Son was on SF Chronicle's best coffee in the Bay list and the Pandan Aerocano sounded delicious so I decided to stop by. It's a window shared with Neighbor Bakeshouse which is super cool. Got some baked goods while I was there Ordered the Pandan Aerocano and a Cardamom Latte. Aerocano was really unique, had the smoothness of a nitro cold brew in the form of an iced americano. Wish the Pandan flavor was a bit stronger though, see Kopiku for a very nice Pandan flavor in coffee. But that would be the one thing that i would have changed. Latte was solid, nice cardamom flavor and the espresso shined through as well. Not my top coffee spot in sf, but definitely worth a try! Tried the pandan aerocano & got a hot oat milk cardamom latte. The aerocano barely tasted of pandan and the roast on the bean was extremely acidic to the point where I could not drink it. I love the oat matcha latte here at Paper Son which is the perfect amount of bitterness from the matcha and creaminess from the oat milk. I have been here a few times and liked my experiences here each time. I've gotten one of their specialties, the Pandan Aerocano, which was fun to try, and interesting. I don't think I am a fan though. I personally just thought it was a little too sweet. I did recently get their regular iced Americano, which was perfect - got me the perfect caffeine buzz after the lunch food coma on a nice day. The service is friendly. I will say though that I do have to wait a bit before ordering each time I come here, though. I'm not sure if it's them being short staffed or what. It will take a few minutes to get my drink, even though I feel like I ordered the low-maintenance ones that don't require much concoction. The place is always quite busy though, with people waiting for their drinks in the sun-soaked patio (no shade is what I'm trying to hint). It does feel nice to get some Vit D on my lunch break though. All my coworkers and I frequent the place, which I think is a good sign in it itself. read more

We placed orders through the app and was expecting the drinks to be ready in no time, but then we found out we're supposed to check in and then they will begin making the drinks. Saw this place when I was waiting in line for baked goods and decided to check it out. Thai tea cloud - the drink was 60% tea and then 20% cloud so I was a little disappointed it wasn't more full considering the price point. The Thai tea was sweeter than expected but the cloud was very creamy. Pandan latte - I asked if it was possible to do a Pandan latte because I saw Pandan syrup in another drink and they said yes. However, they did say you can request for more pandan syrup if wanted. The coffee was so creamy and smooth which I didn't expect from something without milk.
