Pappasitos..consistent for the past 20+ years I've been coming to you all! It doesn't matter if I'm in Dallas, Houston or San Antonio you guys deliver! I bri g all my out of town friends to see you all for a truly unique Mexican food dining experience! It'd be great if you'd build one up near Prosper by the way! I be there daily! The fajitas friends....get the fajitas, shrimp on the side and dip everything in the butter sauce! I've pretty much had everything that's been on the menu for the last 20 years. I used to come here regularly when it first opened decades ago, and ate here regularly for a decade after. We decided to have a family gathering here recently and it was just terrible. Several of us got the special with Steak and Seafood, near $100 each, some of got the Tacos and they were inedible. The salt was so heavy it burned your mouth and destroyed any taste, like licking a salt lick, and I like salt!! I cannot understand how the Chef is still working there. The service was ok, not great. We sat without drink refills for more than 10 mins a couple times. For the price we paid and quality of food, we won't be having family gatherings here. We eat out regularly as a family. It's our time to catch up with each other. We had tried Pappadeaux's 2 weeks before and it was just as bad! I don't know what has happened to the chain but it needs help desperately! read more

If you ever wanted to know if God is real, just drive to your nearest Pappasito's and experience the glory of the Lord for yourself. Only our Heavenly Father, who loves us sooo much, could anoint the hands and minds of the founders of this fine establishment so that we may experience heaven here on earth. I really enjoyed my meal. It was very expensive but worth it since I was only able to get here once in the past two years. This is a special occasion place for me. I loved the filet mignon fajitas. I really enjoyed the Pappasito Reserva Margarita. The shrimp on the shrimp tacos (with Mexican street corn and habanero glaze) was very good as well. I asked for no salt and I did not like the smoky chili salt stuff on the prickly pear Margarita, so I was not a fan at all. If it had not had salt, it might have been ok. WOW!!! First time going and the food was amazing and the service was exceptional!! Our server was Elli ((from Minnesota), she was so attentive and super friendly. I ate at Papasitos to ight at the bar the service and the food were as bad as I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. My food was served steak Fahitos I wasn't given a set up for openers. I Sked for an ice tea with a lemon the bartender filled my glass with very little ice and no lemon. I wasn't given any Tortugas with my Fahitas and on my skillet there were only a few onions and beef. No peppers of any kind the food was seasoned very bad and the beef was under cooked. My family and I came here today hoping for dinner/drinks, family fun, and the ability to enjoy Cinco De Mayo! This place was amazing!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could! It was very crowded at the time of our arrival and for a party of 5, they were able to sit us right away. We ordered some delicious adult beverages; well worth it! The food....listen when I tell you about the food.....it came out hot, tasty, and packed with flavor. As my nephew would say, "It was bussin bussin!!" Our server was nice as well. I have been dining at pappasitos for many years. For the last few years we have been more inclined to dine at Pappadeaux, but there was a time where we lunched almost every day at Pappasitos and often ate dinner there also. The Houston locations are probably still good, but the Richardson location is a joke. Terrible. It is now just a bad version of Christina's at 3 times the price. The place is dirty, only a few waiters/waitresses and certainly not luxury. The margaritas were a 23 dollar syrup/salt mess ... no amount of the Anejo could save the scooner salt/sugar concoction thrown together by the kid at the bar. Do NOT order a margarita here, they are some of the worse you will ever have, and are served in beer glasses with tons of salt. I still can't get that awful syrup taste out of my mouth. The 17 dollar Anejo I asked for couldn't even be tasted. I understand Covid has hurt restaurants, but if you continue to charge hundreds of dollars for 1-2 people, you have a responsibility not to make it such a miserable experience. Service was a mess, orders were messed up, we waited way too long for our awful drinks, there were multiple additional charges on the bill... just terrible. Waitresses were nice (yes, we somehow had 4 people serving us at one point. so we still tipped well, but it will be the last time we will visit it this dump. I hate to call it that, but this is what it has turned into. What a mess. So sad I wasted a hundred plus dollars on a dinner that I wish I could erase from my memory. read more

I am always impressed at this restaurant. I went today and they were COViD friendly and had a way to see a menu by using your mobile and a quick scan. Saturday I took my wife and daughter to Pappasito's Richardson. What started out as a disaster ended up being one of the best service experiences I've had for some time. We had a waiter that was incredibly new and inexperienced. Just after we had water and chips delivered to the table he disappeared never to be seen again. However our disappointment completely changed when Mike was assigned to our table. He was probably the most service oriented person I have seen in a long time. He had a great personality and handled everything. He made our dining experience fun. So what started out as a disaster turned out to be one of the best meals and service experiences we had in a really long time. Thanks Mike! read more

I was surprised how bad this place was. I normally go to the NW Hiway location, but today I was here. They are obviously cutting a lot of corners in the quality of the food the buy. The salsa was very watered down, the meat in the tacos was of low quality and the quantity of meat in the taco was cut back dramatically. It was mostly lettuce. Pappasitos is pretty dependably average Tex-Mex food. It does a decent job of preparing and presenting simple food. I recently had their chicken tortilla soup which was not very flavorful, but the worst thing about it was the huge chunks of chicken in the bowl. It required a knife and fork to cut the chicken which added nothing to the taste of the soup. Not sure why it wasn't shredded or at least diced in smaller pieces, but it was extremely awkward trying to eat it. The chips and salsa were ok; the chips were fresh and the salsa had a kick. We came here for my boyfriend's promotion dinner and it was THE BEST experience. We are vegetarians, and they treated our dietary concerns with utmost integrity and made us the best tasting veggie fajitas we have ever eaten. The music and lighting were perfect for a fancy night out to celebrated And most importantly, we cannot say enough about our server Dio! If you go, ask for him! We had dinner at the Richardson, TX., one and the food did not disappoint. It is superior to most Mexican restaurants. I had the shrimp diablo, my wife had chicken fajitas. Both were amazing. We also had guacamole for an appetizer again, superb. I don't care what others say but for me the Pappas family does it right no matter which restaurant you attend. The service was outstanding. You get there and just begin relaxing and enjoying a gastronomic buffet of taste and quality. You can't go wrong here. read more

The service was ok but not great and the prices are pretty high for a Mexican restaurant. My friends and I ordered food from the kid's menu and for almost $8 I expected more than a bland chicken taco with nothing on it. It did come with rice and beans but I don't eat those. Fortunately we ordered Queso Blanco but it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. So even though my meal wasn't that great I did enjoy being with my friends. I've never been blown away by my experiences here and have been here about 4 times. The last time I went was 5 or 6 years ago and the ceviche was so fishy. This time my hub and I shared the medium beef fajitas...which is the smallest size and its $40. They do give a big portion. The beef has a great flavor but there are too many tough peices. The charro beans are delicious. I could get those as a meal. The most disappointing part is the warm salsa. I think its gross. read more

Lately we have shifted from individual meals to sharing the family fajitas that serve 5-6 people. Lots of food for a great value! Highly recommend adding 1-2 jalapeños sausages. I really enjoyed lunch here! There was a lot of space and lots of parking. I have a two day work trip and wanted to see my cousin (who I see once a year) who has an internship here. I met her here for lunch during her break. The server was really nice and welcoming as soon as I was greeted and sat down. They explained that this is the only location with live maine lobster and everything is made fresh. Their proteins are sourced especially for them. They're also known for the margaritas. It was exemplified in the complimentary freshly made warm salsa (made that morning or the evening before) that they served you with chips. I couldn't stop eating those. They also have a whole page of lunch specials. My cousin and I got two of the lunch specials including one of the grilled items that came with bacon wrapped shrimp and steak fajitas, and also the shrimp brochette queso. It was so good! We got the ensalada for $6 and it was huge. The total meal was $45 and we couldn't finish the salad and half of each dish, because the portions were so huge. I highly recommend coming here, and it definitely made my two day Texas experience worthwhile. I saw the server come out with churros, and they were humongous, but looked appetizing. 5/5 on food quality (delicious) and service at this location. No doubt this is a busy Tex Mex restaurant, however knowing that, this evening we made it in right before the rush. Lunchtime is crazy too. We ordered the medium sized beef & shrimp fajitas to share. I'm not much on chicken fajitas but I'm sure they w/b fine too (or so my wife says). When I go Tex Mex it's about a 99.9% surety beef fajitas are my entree. I must say the steak was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of pink and plenty of juiciness. The shrimp was grilled just right with plenty of it. All of the veggies were spiced to perfection. I also love their smoky green salsa! Our server was very nice and prompt. We underestimated the amount of food we could eat even with sharing the medium size meal. He loaded us up on to-go chips and salsa which I enjoyed with the leftover shrimp & veggies the day after for a work lunch! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Everything was amazing. I was in town over Memorial day weekend to attend a wedding. I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and catch up with an old friend. We went to Papasitos and was pleasantly surprised. The margarita was the best ever. I ordered the chicken and spinach empanada as my appetizer. They were out of this world delish! I also ordered the beef fajitas/ my friend had the chicken and beef fajitas. Which came with yellow rice and your choice of black or red beans. The portions are large enough to share. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. I am now a fan and will pay a visit to the one here in Georgia very soon. read more

I really enjoy the Pappadeaux/Pappasito's restaurants. This one, of course, is adjacent to our fave Pappadeaux. We stop here often on the way home from Love Field. Just like Pappadeaux next door, the decor is warm and the staff very friendly and professional. I appreciate that the wait staff imparts a sense of genuine care in helping customers have a great dining experience. The guacamole was exceptional. Really exceptional. Likewise, my wife's chicken tortilla soup. What was merely average were our entrees from the lunch menu. The servings were large, for sure, but flavor did not rock the world. The Pappasito's Beef Fajita Burrito had a good flavor but not outstanding. Taco Bell level flavor (and this is a mere decscription and not a criticism of TB). I will be back but will likely choose a different entré for my meal. But I absolutely will do a repeat on the Guacamole! read more
