This was my first time checking out Parakeet Cafe in Coronado and only my 3rd time ever being in Coronado. The cafe was pretty busy, but I was able to find a seat right away. You pay for your order at the register, and then they bring you your meal at your table. I got a matcha latte that had dragon fruit in it. I also had belgium waffles, but they were made with activated charcoal, so the waffles had a cool color to it. The food came quick and it was delicious. I was able to get some work done while I had brunch. I would certainly come back here. read more

We stopped by our fav cafe in Coronado - Parakeet Café for a mid-afternoon treat and enjoyed the whole experience as always. We split a Belgian waffle topped with granola, sweet whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, and a drizzle of chocolate and maple syrup--it was indulgent in the best way. Paired it with a vanilla matcha latte that was just the right balance of creamy and sweetness (and beautifully presented too!). We sat outside, enjoyed the festive-casual music, and people-watched under the umbrellas and Coronado sun. I came here for the fist time and the food and drinks where soooo good! I really enjoyed the turmeric latte that I believe Ari made and Ivanna suggested!! Pretty coffee shop in prime location with the worst service, super dirty tables with plenty of dishes to be picked up and cleaned, smells like sewer...Yes, parrots everywhere are cute and the decor is happy and the place looks inviting with the division between the bowls area and the pastries and coffee one and also noticed a nice patio in the back area. However, the staff seemed not to care. Also, I asked if I could have a nice paper cup with the iconic parrot and they said they didn't have more and I pointed to the pile with the same. Then the guy said oh that is for other type of drinks. Weird, as at other Parakeet cafes they have served my lattes in that kind of paper cup and not a plain one. Nice little place with good healthy food. That said don't order the Mediterranean Quiona Salad unless you are a huge fan of arugula. It was at least 85% arugula and that is being conservative. Arugula was the fourth item listed on the salad from the menu.. There was a tiny bit of other ingredients quinoa sprinkled on top, 1/4 " cut size minuscule amount of tomato, feta, pickled onions, and a few slices of cucumber. Topped off a soggy mess of dressing. This offering needs to be changed or taken off the menu. I will come back and order something else. read more

I've been here a couple of times before and it's always been a pleasant experience. Today I am rating it a 3.8 out of 5. The chilaquiles are my go-to. However, today there was an overwhelming amount of sauce. I felt like there was more sauce than anything else. It was delicious, but I wasn't able to finish it. It was hard to eat later because it was too soggy. Considering this dish was $18, I might consider something else next time. The waffles were great and I have no complaints! Such a cute little cafe and juicery! I came in about 30 minutes before close but they were friendly and happy to allow me to order whatever I wanted off the menu which was nice bc some places act all put out or tell you what you can't get. I browsed the bowls and wraps and toasts and juices and in the end decided to go somewhere else where I could sit and dine and take my time, but I'll be back for juices and lunch on my next trip to the island! It was very clean inside and they have plenty of outdoor patio seats as well for people watching. read more

This is a review solely regarding the coffee and I might be coming back to try out their juice/smoothies at their sister spot. I had a chai tea and I would honestly describe it as just okay and a bit of a disappointment for the price. The space also felt very crowded with no great system for waiting for your coffee if ordered to go. Overall, probably won't be back for a coffee/tea, but the pictures are cute and the spot is Instagram worthy if that's what you're looking for. Recently went to this Parakeet Cafe I am from Arizona and The cafe was super clean and the breakfast was so good. Everything is fresh and clean and the highest quality. The staff was friendly and super helpful especially a staff worker Bre who gave us some great food and drink suggestions. Located along busy Orange Ave in Coronado so it's in a lively neighborhood with nice boutiques and restaurants. We sat outside so we could people watch. Plus we had a dog with us as well. Counter order and food is delivered to the table. There are lots of healthy options on their large menu. Ordered the Golden goddess salad and added grilled salmon for an extra $11. Presentation of drinks and food were beautiful and the ingredients were fresh. My salad was a bit plain though. Expected more from what I paid for it. Might need to try something else next time. I've always loved this place because of the wonderful food, drink selection, and general ambiance. Today prompted me to write a review, however, because of a special experience. We had a slight issue with an order - nothing huge, but enough to point out. Jess, the supervisor, on hearing this, came out, and went above and beyond - explaining some recent changes to the kitchen, offering a remake or a refund... none of which we asked for but were very kind to offer. It didn't feel forced, or required, or anything but a genuine effort to please and make sure we'd leave really happy and wanting to return. This genuine approach put this place above and beyond for me, highlight Jess in particular, and make me extra willing to return! read more

Not one to give out 5 stars, but there simply isn't anything to complain about. The staff was kind. The coffee was great (we had a vanilla latte and an Americano). I ordered it black just to see how their espresso tasted. (It's amazing) The shots were dialed in and it showed. We ordered savory breakfast off the menu and it was delicious. This place is Bustling in the AM. It can be confusing at first as they have split the place into two joined spaces divided by a private central staircase to the 2nd floor. One side are fresh juices and smoothies the other, food and coffees. You can tell which side is which by the sound of the 100db blender. Lots of simple "designer" framed prints, a few neon signs and stenciled windows provide accents. Cool pastel paint themes that similarly "divide" spaces geometrically. But everything is pretty cohesive, and hip like the painted-on Lululemon leggings crowd. A very efficient and friendly staff drops orders to tables, busses tables and refill self-serve water stations. Brunch, juices, coffees and outdoor tables are what they seem to do best. Avocado Toast is on every table. But it's a beautiful colorful presentation befitting of unique IG and FB posts. Green Eggs scramble, (but not ham) is also tasty and cool (hip) with a huge dose of chlorophyll, spinach, and asparagus. It's very tasty and colorful. Roast potatoes could have used 5-7 additional minutes in the oven. Overall a pleasant visit, nice bright location on the main drag. read more

But they are either missing product training and what the customers would expect. 1. 2 out of 3 smoothies I buy is always chunky - either ice or fruit. The point is if I want a bowl I will get one but when I buy a smoothie I want to be able to drink it. 2. I raise the issue to local teams frequently. No one offers to make it again getting concerned about customer satisfaction. I tried to reduce complaining but when I pay $10+ per smoothie it should be more satisfying. read more

I love the mushroom drinks! My husband orders Matcha and I ordered Cacao Chai so we both can taste the difference. We also had Goddess Salad and Chicken sandwiches which were good! Salad tasted more bitter and tangy while the sandwich is balanced with their flavor. We also ordered Packed Protein smoothie that was soooooo good that also balances with the rest. The staff were really nice, but overall I probably wouldn't come back to eat. I asked the cashier what the most popular salad was, and she recommended the green goddess salad, so I got it, and it wasn't great. I added a sausage patty which ultimately was the best part. The dressing was a bit bitter and there was barely any of it, and despite being a cute photo-worthy plate, underneath the top layer was simply all .... Just semi-dry spinach. It's like my second time coming here when visiting coronado. The cafe is small, has good foot traffic, good food, decent drinks. The staff are friendly. I definitely liked their croissant sandwich and their acai bowl which was decent as the acai melted partially when I got served it.
