That was literally one of the best breakfast I've ever had. Truly blown away. The flavors were so good. Lots of GF and Vegan options if you need it. It's a smaller place, wouldn't suggest coming here with more than 2 people. 4 max. Might not get seating unless it's a weekday. Service is very very friendly. Everyone smiling the whole time and so helpful. A++
I got to try out Parakeet Cafe last week as part of a mystery picnic experience. It was our 2nd stop. We were able to put our order in, and the staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The person helping us even upgraded one of our drinks. The cafe is very small, and they pack in a few tables, there are some tables outside as well. There is also a very nice large restroom, that was very clean and adorned with fun pictures. The food was yummy. We got a nice salad, the dressing was tasty, and there was plenty of it. We also got 2 coffee drinks, and 2 sparking waters. It also came with a chicken sandwich and we opted for potatoes instead of another salad. We also got a Parakeet PB shortbread cookie, and a banana oat loaf with chocolate. Everything was tasty, high quality, and inside was fun and well decorated. Enjoy the photos.
Had a friend recommend this place after a walk at the shores so we stopped by! We ordered the protein waffles and egg Benedict on toast to split. There is some seating inside and outside, you stand in line to order and then grab a table! The inside was a bit small but the patio seating was nice as we were able to snag a table Both items were sooo good and I'm so glad we tried both, the protein waffles had 40 grams of protein and tasted SO good, none of that protein taste. The Benedict's were so good as well, I loved the pesto and tomatoes and I typically dislike tomato Parking is typical for La Jolla but I would definitely come back again
We were visiting and looking for a lighter brunch , this very small location in upscale LaJolla was clean and inviting. Food was good, made to order. They have coffee and tea options also. It was fairly busy around 11 on a Thursday. We had green eggs, French toast and breakfast croissant sandwich. Turmeric tea and honey cinnamon latte. You can taste the fresh quality products used here. The portions are plenty-too. Directly next door is their juice shop where you can get specialty items like açaí bowls and juices. We enjoyed this spot.
My go to when I'm back visiting SD. Parakeet Cafe enables all healthy foodies to eat delicious food without sacrificing taste and creativity. I always order the Parakeet bowl with grilled salmon. This is one of the few places that make almond milk from scratch! I highly recommend their pastries as well. To top it off the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Please open locations in Las Vegas. Shout out to Neda, Tanelle, and Maya!
The cutest café, the friendliest staff, a must to stop by and try this spot when visiting La Jolla! I made a visit here two days in a row because how great it is! I've had the smoothies which were fantastic, and the lunch teriyaki bowl which flavors were incredible. Shout out to Janelle for having such a great customer service and we made a fantastic latte for me the second day we stopped by!
I come here all the time, and I've got plenty of options around, but I keep coming back for a reason. The food is incredibly fresh, super healthy, affordable, and tastes great. One thing that really matters to me--they don't use seed oils, which is very hard to find. My functional medicine doctor even said this is the only place outside the home she recommends eating in the Village. You can tell the owners, Jonathan and Carol, are very involved. There's attention to detail in everything, and they run a really strong business. It's busy, and it makes sense why. They also have a juice and smoothie bar right next door, which is just as good and fits perfectly with everything else they're doing. The staff is outstanding--friendly, hardworking, genuine, and super enthusiastic. A few people I really appreciate are Kayla, Neda, Regina (the manager), Matthew, Leilani, Hailey, and Janelle. Super clean, high-energy vibe. You feel a real sense of connection here--I see neighbors and friends from the Village all the time, which makes it even more enjoyable. I look forward to coming here. Just a great place all around.
This place is amazing and I'm very sad we don't have any near me. We stayed near here and I stopped by an obscene amount of times because it was walking distance. There was a reward program too and I didn't sign up day one-that was silly. The parakeet bowl quickly became my favorite meal. The banana muffin was so good-it's been almost 7 months (little delayed here) and I still would love another! To the point where I have a friend visiting the area now and I told her she must try it and asked her to bring me a muffin- let's see if she does!! I have been tempted to see if they will ship to me or if they'll share the recipe with me since I found an article where they shared a recipe for an item. So maybe... My son (17) had one of the breakfast wraps. I can't recall the name but he said it was really good. The chocolate chip cookies are also good.
This café made me want to move Cali and so sad that I had to get on a flight so soon after visiting! Let me start with the staff - they greeted me upon entering & made me feel comfortable as I waited for my food and drink. Everyone was working hard yet still seemed pleasant. Loved that energy. Then, let me get to the coffee. Ohhh the first sip of their coffee immediately made my shoulders relax and feel at ease. I got the plain latte and it did not need any flavor, & trust me - I love me some flavored coffee. Additionally, their cups? The cutest things ever. Lastly, the decor is the cutest ever from the poop emoji on the restroom door to the wall paper throughout. You can hear yourself think and just be at peace here. If you want to leave a place with a smile and have a good meal & coffee, go here!

Needed a very light snack and ended up here. I tried their Overnight Oats for $12 and it came out in a pretty presentation. It had plenty of oats and chia pudding which was filling and a lot of strawberries, blueberries, walnuts, bananas and even some mint leaves. Walnuts added nice crunchy texture. Tasted fresh... but everything ended up bitter after awhile and was very filling so I couldn't finish it. The cafe itself is small with some tables inside and more outside. I suggest outdoor seating. Came here around 11:30 am, it was pretty empty. It's a pretty small restaurant, so we chose to sit outside. The lavender matcha latte was probably one of my favorite matchas ever. The blue corn waffle was also really good--I was skeptical at first but I'm glad I took the server's recommendation. The chicken sandwich was also good, although the chicken was a little too dry. They follow food expiration seriously as it's baked on site with gluten free and vegan options. They have a juicery in walking distance from flag ship La Jolla location on Silverado in the village. Parakeet is a nice little cafe in La Jolla that is a good visit for some coffee and tasty breakfast. They have all the coffee options with some cool latte and specialty coffee twists. They also have a pretty decent menu, all their breakfast options are pretty creative and definitely healthy. The location is awesome as it's right in the center of La Jolla so great for a morning stop before walking around. The only downside I've experienced is when there is rainy days, the inside seating is super limited. They have tons of outside seating so that's really the only case it feels cramped. Overall though definitely worth a visit and would totally recommend! read more

The cups are out of Legally Blonde. Love it! There seems to be another Parakeet Cafe nearby, which does serve food (this establishment is drinks only). We ordered the Ceremonial Matcha Tea, which is a higher grade than regular matcha tea. It's very similar to authentic matcha, with the iconic bitterness taste. read more

Got the berry cacao waffle, It looked very pretty and was no doubt very healthy, with coconut yogurt, homemade blueberry compote, fresh berries and chia seeds. The waffle wasn't crispy and i guess not as sweet as a normal waffle so i didn't enjoy it as much as a regular waffle with syrup. I guess parakeet cafe is more for the heathy minded, it was by no means bad just not my thing. If you're health conscious and want something thats good for you this is your place. I'd maybe come back to try something else, but the prices were kinda high so i probably wouldn't. If you're looking for something healthy and fresh then you're probably used to paying these prices. Delicious healthy breakfast food right next to La Jolla Shores! There are so many things that I love about this place. They have so many yummy breakfast options including cheesy puddings, eggs scrambled, waffles and pancakes, and other sandwiches. for the drinks they have lots of matcha combinations as well as coffee drinks and they also serve mimosas. 10/10 !!! read more
A super cute cafe that makes for nice photo ops. I'd say that, paired with their beverages, are the most noteworthy things about Parakeet Cafe. There's a fair amount of seating inside and outdoors, but this cafe is kind of small and narrow, so I wouldn't recommend it for any groups larger than 4 people. My friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and were able to order quickly and get a table just as fast. We got our order fairly quickly, too, and my meal was OK! I ordered the breakfast sandwich and thought it was hearty. It was a little lackluster for my liking, so it's not something I'd get again or recommend. My drink, however was refreshing!! This is one of the healthiest cafes that I have ever had the pleasure to dine at! After passing by this location a million times, I was invited by some friends to join them here for lunch. They recommended the Green Goddess Salad, and it was the most artistic and healthy salad that I have ever had. The bed of spring greens is topped with purple radishes, avocado, and fennel. The yellow edible flower garnish was a nice colorful touch as well, and the lemon vinaigrette dressing was absolutely delicious! The service was equally impressive, as Kat took great care of us. She answered all of our questions politely, and she went out of her way to make sure that we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Much to my surprise, even the bussers were equally as kind, as they checked on us periodically and greeted us politely. Whomever is training the staff has done an outstanding job! Thank you for making my first visit to your restaurant a memorable one, as the salad was magnificent and the service enticed me to want to come back again! read more

I love parakeet cafe. I had the most amazing bowl here and I can't stop thinking about it. My partner had the Thai Vegan Bowl and I had the Parakeet Bowl. The staff was so friendly and informative and let us know what to avoid concerning spice because my partner has to avoid it. The Thai bowl is a little more sweet than I like but my partner LOVED IT! I really wanted to try the Vegan Carne Asada bowl but was told it was spicy and I didn't want spicy that day. The carne asada is oyster mushrooms which are a favorite so I will definitely try another time. Give parakeet cafe a try. Seating is limited inside and out but the food is so good. Came here after a lovely beach day at La Jolla Shores. The location closer to the beach was closed so we came to this location. I'm glad we did because we would not have met Shelby, one of the staff working there. She was so kind, welcoming, patient and friendly. She made our experience a great one. I was pleasantly surprised to see a good variety of gluten free pastries. They even had a gluten free eclair. I got a slice of gf zucchini nut loaf, which was delicious and had a good texture. I also got a gf oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and another slice of the gf zucchini loaf for one of my daughters, who loved them both. I enjoyed my cafe americano. The aesthetics and decor are cute, too, with a birds of a feather theme. Will definitely be coming back. Delicious, perfectly crafted, almond milk lattes with amazing foam & art- 5 stars there. One of the only places that doesn't burn my almond lattès. (This is a big deal to me.) Friendly Service- 5 stars Bathroom Cleanliness- 3 stars Patio and indoor seating- small outdoor patio with metal chairs, a few umbrellas, and a tiny heater. Indoor seating was very tight but gets the job done. 3.5 stars I'll be back for more!...Tad on the pricy side but it tasted even better then it looked- I'd say, it was worth it. $7 latte without tip read more

Full disclosure, I have only ever visited once and have only tried one drink. Based on that one time experience, I can't recommend this cafe. I love the location right across from the ocean. The interior is super cute and the cashier was kind. I ordered the cacao chai latte with oat milk. It was not good at all and cost $6!! That's steep for a bad drink! I wish I had tried something else so I could tell you if it was just that one drink that was bad, but I didn't. What I can say is that the prices in general seemed high but I would say it is to be expected for the location. read more

Stopped my parakeet for the first time, the service was great from the start with a warm welcome from the register person. After we asked a million questions the young lady (Marina) working behind the coffee bar recommended we try the turmeric latte based on what we said we liked. She nailed it with the recommendation, this was one of the best lattes I've ever had. Not only was it delicious but so beautiful too, Marina took the time to make a beautiful design, I almost didn't want to drink them. I wish I got the girls name at the register but thank you to both of them for their hospitality and recommendations. LET ME TELL YOU! Delicious. Unique menu items. Cute. Fast and friendly service. They have a refreshingly cool latte or iced matcha for a hot Sunday day at the beach, or a perfectly warming drink for a cool foggy morning after going spearfishing (my case ). May I recommend the Mayan latte- Chili, cinnamon, hot chocolate, and coffee. LOVE LOVE LOVE. As a true Mexican myself, I love spiciness in everything, and my coffee/latte is no exception. Perfect combination of warmth, sweetness, and spiciness. With respect to allergies (gluten and dairy) here are my thoughts: - Gluten: LOTS of Gluten free options, pastries, food, and all the drinks! - Dairy: All drinks ca be modified DF, and lots of the pastries are Vegan or DF! * Note: I am NOT a celiac, just intolerant, so I do not know about their cross-contamination procedures read more
Food was so good! Very healthy and colorful. The only issue I had was that it's $8 extra to add chicken or salmon which is kinda a lot on top of what the meal cost is. My daughter and I were in La Jolla and wanted to try a new coffee shop. We came across this place and were glad we did.Parakeet is in a great location with seating inside and outside. My daughter got the croissant sandwich and I got a chocolate croissant. She loved the sandwich and said the flavor was delicious. She got the iced chai and thought it was just ok. I got the vanilla latte with oat milk and cinnamon and it was delicious! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Great spot and we will be back! read more
