Called BOSHOP STREET location in Honolulu. Ask question regarding cakes that I was going to order for a birthday for my boss. Was going down to make payment and asked for clerk's name but wouldn't give it. She said it was policy. Problem with this is we go to bakery quite a bit since they've opened. Bought at least over $5K and recommended them to our staff and business partners. Reason why I ask for persons name is so that I have someone to refer to regarding phone convo in the event there are mix-ups or miscommunications regarding order. But if this is the attitude of t to he bakery and the staff, might as well order elsewhere. Was planning to order enough cakes to feed 172 people. Sorry won't be coming or ordering there anymore. Also lately the customer service has been lacking. Ask if they'll bring anymore of an item that's not out there and they say not sure. I guess I got my hopes too high. Or maybe I'm just too used to American bakeries, or both. I got a couple of pastries and a box of 5 macarons. The signs with items names were small, the prices were even smaller, and I didn't put on my reading glasses, so I didn't see that the macarons were nearly $20. I asked to have them removed. I know they are labor-intensive but the price was just too much for me. And just the other two pastries were already over $10. They were unremarkable and were mostly pastry dough with barely perceptible fillings or toppings. I wanted a sandwich but it was nearly 1 pm and few sandwiches were left. One trip and two disappointing pastries were enough for me, although maybe someday if I'm walking by, I'll actually try one of their baguettes, or maybe a slice of cake from the refrigerated case. I purchased a Rainbow cake for my daughter's birthday. The online order process was convenient. The issue was that I paid for the extra chocolate to write a birthday wish. You could tell that they made a mistake on my daughter's name, Alice, and tried to correct it. I overheard the employees talking about it when I picked up. It's disappointing because the cost of using a new chocolate can't be that much. Also, the cake is misleading because a picture of a Rainbow cake is wrapped around and taped. Since today was Sunday I figured free street parking so why not check out Paris Baguette located downtown. This location was their first and it's located on Bishop St. heart of downtown financial district . I remembered when they first opened it was always crowded not anymore . My go to is their Ham and cheese croissant it's very crispy on the outside and the inside is nice a buttery. I believe there's cheese on the outside as well because when you first bite into it it's very crunchy. No very big Bakery I'm sure it gets crowded very fast when there a lot of customers. Service was not great no one greeted me until I came to the counter . Normally someone who's stocking the pastry will ask if there's any question or can they help me with something. It's ok I've noticed they hire lot of young people that could be the problem? . With more hungry customers slowly lining up behind us, we grabbed a curry croquette, crab meat croquette, hash brown pastry, hot dog pastry and chocolate croissant. Once at the register, we ordered a Korean iced coffee to share. We waited a short while outside as the staff prepared our coffee and warmed up our savory baked goods. There are a few covered tables outside of the bakery but we grabbed our breakfast and crossed the street to enjoy our meal in the grassy Tamarind Park. First timer and I wanted to see the hype was. My first impression of walking in was wow look at all the colorful fruits on display with the yummy pastries. I had to get me a few. Plus I needed me some coffee. Ordering and standing in line went pretty quick. The menu was on displayed and the lady was nice enough to recommend some good drinks. I got a white mocha iced. That was delicious. A little milky but with an extra shot I think it would've been perfect for my taste preference. I would definitely order that again. The Honolulu location is intended to be a grab-n-go operation for office workers working in downtown with future expansions in the Ala Moana area and Pearl City. The So. Korean pastries are lighter and not as sweet as American pastries. Pastry fillings are often whipped cream that tend to be airy instead of being rich and dense. Breads are softer and less chewy. Lavazza coffee beans are used in making their coffee. Paris Baguette's goal is to do two things better than any other bakery/café franchise, i.e., to provide a comfortable, inviting guest experience and having the highest quality of baked goods and coffees. Its target audience is the upper-class consumers across Asia and the US. With 200+ menu items on rotation, there are display cases filled with pastries, and refrigerated sections with decorated cakes, sandwiches, and salads. With the exception of cakes, all items are self-serve. You get your tray, then a paper liner for your tray, and a plastic glove to grab your pastries (no tongs used here). Made with sweet rice flour and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, it was chewy and tasted like a very tasty churro! It was so large that it had to be bent to fit in the box! * Fruit pastry. The fresh Kiwi, raspberry, strawberry, and mandarin orange complemented the flaky crust. It was very refreshing! Staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. There is always someone restocking the inventory of pastries, so it's easy to have your questions answered by that person. When you're ready to pay, additional staff is available to box your goods and ensure that your payment has been applied to their rewards program. The interior is bright and clean. As the area is small, sometimes there is a line of people ready to pay who are blocking part of the display case. And because there are a lot of customers going in and out, be mindful that a few flies might wander in. Hours of operation are daily from 6a to 6p. As the bakery is geared to office workers, there may be less inventory on the weekends. If you do not work in downtown, parking may be a problem. There is hard-to-find metered street parking or nearby private parking lots that do not validate parking. It's best to have two people in the car, with one driving and waiting nearby, and the other getting the pastries. Don't forget to sign up for the rewards program of earning 1 point for every $1 spent for future discounts. You also get a free cake slice during the week of your birthday. There are so many places to get delicious jasmine green tea in Hawaii but wanted to try this Paris Baguette location since I was nearby. Service was mediocre (as you can see in my photos, my green tea was poured, but sat on the back counter....until the workers decided they were ready to hand them to me). Not sure why the delay, other than they felt it was more important to serve others that came after me (I literally watched them do this....) Paris Baguette offers a good variety of pastries, coffee, drinks, breads, sandwiches, etc ....this particular location seems a little low on hand held pastries but had several cakes available. Outdoor seating is available to enjoy in the amazing weather. Personally, I will pass on this location....perhaps I looked like a tourist and didn't belong in downtown Honolulu....at least that is how the workers made me feel...so they don't need my money. read more

Have to admit, wasn't the biggest fan of it in Korea (they have stiff competition in bakeries and cafes) yet have come to know and love PB for their variety of both sweet AND savory treats. And I have come to love the excellent service of the counter personnel and generous heart of the owner here. Will miss my favorite counter person and her phenomenal service, yet wish Oiwell all the best. ALL the staff I have interacted with here are super helpful! ...Exceptionally service oriented. They have helped me with loading up my car with meeting treats every Saturday. Thank you all! And what do I get? For the group I try to spread my purchase as much as I can and that means lots of "mini" pasteries, mini croissants, mini cream cheese garlic bites (one of my favorites). For me, my favorites are anything with their yummie sourdough bread, the memorable egg salad sandwich stuffed with cucumber slices and basil (could use a pinch of salt but I love that its healthier without), my all time favorite pastry... the pecan tart (too bad that's just seasonal). Parking is non-existent. Have found a host of "regular" cars pulled curbside with hazard lights on to run in and quickly pickup (perhaps I shouldn't encourage that)... if staying to linger, your best bet is street metered parking or one of the many municipal parking close by. Or, if you work in the area then ...just walk. They do have a lovely outdoor seating area! Located just across the street from Tamarind Park on Bishop, just before King Street. Will I be back? We enjoyed it. I like how their cakes are not dense and super sweet My friend's bought me a soufflé Cheesecake for my birthday and it is hands down my favorite cake from Paris Baguette. Its so soft and light. I shared slices with my family and they ate it up. The prices ranged to over $40 to almost $50. Its pretty high but worth it. We stopped by here today after going to the bank and before picking up lunch. Also right around the corner from 24 hr. It's a small space and was pretty busy during lunch hour. You'll grab a tray and liner and use a hand glove to pick what pastries you'd like. They'll package it at the register. Tried the fruit pastry, pain au chocolat, and the crookie. They were good! Some of the corners of the pastries were a bit dry and crunchy but maybe that can't be avoided. We were looking at the cakes in the chilled section which looked gorgeous and delicious, but decided against it. Will probably not be back unless I happen to be in the area. In general, parking in downtown is difficult and cramped. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area, but there are a handful of other local bakeries and cafes that might also float your boat! read more

This location is convenient if you're already downtown. Thankfully, it's walking distance from my office so I get my steps in and earn these treats LOL Excellent variety of different pastries. Walk it up to the register where they will box it all up for you, at that time you are able to order the drink of your choice. They had me wait outside for the drink to be prepared as there is not much room to wait inside. A staff member brought it and a straw out to me. They have a nice area for you to be able to enjoy your goodies outside with cover umbrella to keep you shaded. The pastries we got were a hit! Perfectly baked! Rating is for the online ordering experience, rewards program, and the staff (although tries to be helpful doesn't come up with solutions). Otherwise their pastries are ok, doesn't meet the hype, long lines and overall value. My wife made an online order and assumed that this would count as a purchase so we can use as a free pastry on the app. I figured out on my own need to sign up first then make the purchase in the app. The staff had zero clue what happened and how to fix it. NOTE - they will take the cheapest pastry off for the free one. The cashier said it's "random" which is NOT true at all, misinformation. Adding insult to injury added a default tip to the bill when I was sure to click no tip. I'll dispute the charge. The pickup process wasn't smooth at all. The staff was confused about where to find the cake and took about 5 minutes of waiting. How about offering a free coffee while waiting? The fruit tart is not bad, not too sweet and the fruit is fresh. But for $5 is a little on the expensive side. Their croissant signature pastry is good not great. Price is more reasonable at $3.75 a little soggy (expected being more flaky) barely a hint of butter flavor. Strawberry cream cake is ok and expected more for $47. Nicely presented and good idea for birthday and special occasions. Not for regular eating unless you are raking in. It's not a big cake either. Looks like a few more kinks needs to be worked out before being a regular going to this place. I'll stick to Brug and Diamond Head Bakery. read more

Stopped by on my way to the bank and couldn't resist trying this cute snowman cream donut. It was MASSIVE! I enjoyed that the donut wasn't super sweet. It has just the right amount of sweetness so I was able to eat the entire donut at one time. The donut was flaky and not too oily. The cream inside was perfect and they put in a lot of it! To start there's a "how to" poster and I actually don't mind it at all. It asks to sanitize then wear a glove and put a parchment on your tray. Not asking much! I tried the iced pistachio latte (I think it's seasonal) and oooh it was so good! Not too sweet and a nice subtle pistachio flavor. So far I only tried the strawberry filled pistachio bun pastry but it was super fresh and light and not overly sweet at all. I better check I don't know if it was a doughnut split and filled??!! Whatever, I loved it! If the other pastries are this good then it's worth it! The employees were all nice and efficient.
