We usually stop by here when my kids have a game or function at Hoover High School. It's about a mile walk from the school, and we usually walk because we don't want to lose our parking at the school. Paris Bakery has a wide variety of items, including baked goods, sandwiches, and other hot foods. There's a lot to look at, and I liked seeing the different desserts, packaged pastries, and grab-and-go items. Some items are labeled, which helps, but not everything is, so I did have a few questions while ordering. One thing to know before you go: they only accept cash or Venmo, so come prepared. For food, the bánh mì had a nice crispy bread and generous filling, and we also picked up some fried pastries to go. The part that has been the hardest for me here is the service. I've tried asking questions on different visits, whether they were busy or not, and I often felt like I was bothering them. The responses I got were usually along the lines of "everything is good," "what do you want," or sometimes they would walk away before I could finish asking. What stood out to me is that after checking their Instagram, I realized they have a sister business in Mira Mesa. I've been to that location before, and even when it's busy, they've answered my questions, made suggestions, and made the experience feel much more welcoming. It's smaller and usually busier. There are a few tables to sit inside. Overall, Paris Bakery has a lot of variety and is a convenient stop near Hoover High, especially if you want baked goods, sandwiches, and desserts all in one place. I just wish the customer service felt a little more helpful and welcoming.

I was honestly surprised to see such low ratings for Paris Bakery since their sandwiches are always talked about and their sister spot Paris Sandwiches usually gets high reviews. A lot of the negative comments mentioned cleanliness and inconsistent service, but I did not experience those issues during my visit. Paris Bakery is located in a small block in Little Saigon. There is enough parking, but the lot is narrow. The space itself is bigger than I expected because they offer so much more than just banh mi. They have housemade pastries, pates, Vietnamese desserts, and drink options. Large refrigerators line the walls with housemade ingredients you can purchase, like their pickled daikon and carrots. MMmm yum! There are several TVs displaying the menu. The banh mi screen stays still, but the drink and pastry menu rotates quickly, which made it a little hard to decide on a drink because the options moved so fast. After debating for a bit, I ordered the #13 crispy pork belly banh mi and a small kumquat sugarcane drink. My husband got the #1 house special. Just a heads up, they only accept cash, Zelle, and Venmo. The couple in front of us took a while to pay, so the line built up a bit. Thankfully, a woman from the sandwich station came over to help us so we did not wait too long. I requested no jalapenos on my sandwich and she nodded. Our total was around $23 for two sandwiches and one drink, which felt reasonable. While waiting, we looked around at the other offerings. I saw Sam Bo Loung and Che Thai, which made me want to come back just to try their grab and go desserts. There are only about three tables inside, which makes sense since most people get takeout. Within five minutes, our order was ready. The sugarcane drink was sweet and refreshing, but I did not taste much kumquat even though one was placed on top. I also would have preferred more ice, but that is personal preference. My #13 crispy pork belly sandwich was delicious, but I did receive jalapenos despite asking for none. They were a little heavy handed on the mayo too. That said, the pork belly was super flavorful and juicy. Combined with the fresh veggies, it was a flavor packed sandwich. The house special was simple and classic. The pate was lighter than other places, but I appreciate that it is housemade and unique to them. It was good, just not something that WOWed me. Overall, I had a great experience. The workers were kind, service was quick, and it was an easy and delicious lunch spot.

Finally went to Paris Bakery as I heard they bake a lot of bread here daily. The bakery smelled good and they had a lot of Banh Mi sandwiches to pick from. I ordered the meatball Banh Mi and it was great. A lot of veggies and the bread was super fresh. When we ordered there was a green cake just put out and I couldn't resist. It was a tapioca cake. It had a spongey texture which was different but welcomed. Will definitely cone back here for Banh Mi and bakery items. There is seating inside so you can eat here and its quiet. Pricing was very reasonable. I took off one star as credit cards are not available. Only cash,Venmo and Zelle.

This bakery opens very early. At 5am. I was there around 10 and they still had some good food. Its limited in bakery for desserts and bread. They have good eggrolls and ground chicken in croissant pastry. Those 2 items were tasty. The cha Lua was OK. That was 9$ This place only takes cash but you can venmo and zelle. Its a quick place thats in and out. It isn't that small inside and the items are just spread all over the place. Cashiers are nice and fast ringing us up The food here tastes good so far so im sure the other stuff is good too.

Paris Bakery banh mi has declined for me over the years. We gave it a try 3x and each time was a bust. The bread was super hard like a rock. Their house made bakery items and pre packaged hot foods are still decent. You will notice local super market carry their items as they are also whole sellers. Today we came specifically for the baguette. The inside has been updated with 3 tables, the center has new shelves and stands to display their pastries. Much cleaner. Parking lot issue is still an issue when it's crowded.

Je voudrais un Banh Mi, s'il vous plaît. Paris Bakery is a small bakery shop that offers a handful of french things: madeleines, sweet or savory croissants and baguettes for Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwiches. The main specialties the various Bahn Mi, coffee and tea drinks and lots of Vietnamese/Asian baked goods, most I haven't tried, perhaps someday on my next visit. This baker has limited parking in their lot makes it convenient, as well as being open super early 05:00a. Service is helpful and they accept cash and Venmo. It's been over almost 2 years since my last visit here. It's not fancy, but upon entry, the shop looked brighter, cleaner and more organized. I recall seeing only 2 small tables inside. Mostly the set up is for togo orders. I usually pick up a baguette, because I make my own version of Bahn Mi, with organic ingredients and fromagé. When available, the sesame balls filled with golden mung beans are scrumptious and irresistible. Compared with to others, I don't taste animal fat, which some other places use and that makes these sesame balls fantastic. I usually get three and regret not getting more, because my baby Fendi likes them too. Worth a visit. Recommend!

Absolutely love that they open at 0500 am! I can grab my lunch from there and head out to work or the gym after. They are located on 4616 El Cajon Blvd, Sd CA 92105. Limited parking and depends on the time, it can get packed. There is limited street parking as well. Excellent and fast customer service, they got my banh mi order in under 5 minutes. They sell so many different pastries, drinks and entrees. I tried their chicken pastry; it had alot of flavor and was delicious. Cost only $1.50 a piece. Overall very clean shop, few tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their food or drinks. Customer service is great and fast! Thanks for reading my review, have a wonderful day

Decided to fuel up with a banh mi before a volleyball tournament. Im not sure if my sandwich selection was the right choice because now all i want to do is sleep! LOL In seeing the selection, i couldn't pass up the crispy pork belly, and then i also added a fried egg. It was 545AM and my stomach was growling since the last time i ate was around 330pm the day before. Wow. The sandwich was huge. I inhaled the whole thing. It's good to share for two people. My initial thought was to eat half now half later, but the fatso in me said no. Lol the bread had the right amount of softness and crispy. Pork belly wasnt too fatty but i could still feel the oil glistening on my lips. I love fried egg on a sandwich so this was tasty to me. I opted for no cilantro and no jalapeños because im a wuss and cant take mild heat. I also ordered an egg roll and a chicken pastry but those may get eaten tomorrow. There wasnt much pastries to choose from but it may be because i was there before 6AM. i definitely want to try the other sandwiches. As others have stated, this is CASH ONLY but they do take zelle and venmo! this is located in a small plaza in the back. Depending on what time you go, parking may be limited.

First time coming to this shop vs. ordering delivery. The parking lot is tiny and in the back of a strip mall. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with how open and clean the actual restaurant is. It is kind of a grocery store/bakery/restaurant as they have drinks, pastries, Vietnamese snacks and desserts in addition to the banh mi. I got the grilled chicken banh mi without the mayo and my partner got the crispy pork bahn mi. The star here is definitely the bread and I can see why they source their bread to a bunch of other places. Crispy without cutting up your mouth when you eat it. The only downside is the meat. It's not bad just not anything memorable. They load up the veggies though which I appreciate.

A solid and affordable spot to get authentic bahn mis and Viet desserts. It's very straightforward and not intimidating even for us who are new to the cuisine. The crispy pork bahn mi was delicious! The baguette was soft and fresh and the pork belly was crispy and flavorful. We split one sandwich as it is big enough for 2 people. They also have che desserts and we tried the three colored one, which we thought was not too sweet and refreshing. I do, however, want to come back for the avocado one. We can definitely see ourselves coming back here!

Paris Bakery reminds me of those mom and pop Vietnamese shops in Garden Grove/Westminster. These spots are essentially the Vietnamese bodega shops where they sell a bit of everything. Whether you want baked goods, ready to eat meals, banh mi sandwiches, and che for dessert, this place has something for everyone. Prices were very reasonable with sandwiches costing around $8. I got the Banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork) and it was super solid. I really loved the mayo/butter spread and it had so much flavor. The meat was nicely flavored and tender too. We also got a handful of other stuff including xoi (sticky rice) and other baked goods. We enjoyed everything we got and would happily return to try more things. This is a Cash Only place so be prepared (or they use Venmo etc).

Finally popped into Paris Bakery and I wanted everything. We left with a handful of goodies and it was very reasonably priced: Soy with peanuts. So good! Perfectly sticky and the peanut/sugar was a great touch. Jalapeño, ham, and cheese croissant. We threw that in the air fryer the next day and it crisped up really well. It was filled! It was chunky and one of my favorite ham and cheese croissants I've had in a little while. Cream cheese croissant. So subtle and balanced with a little sweetness in the cream cheese. The Banh mi was crispy and the spread they put on it was very different from other banh mi's. It was so good. Che was a must buy. I grabbed the more traditional green jelly che and it was lovely. I will definitely be back to try more items.

My only gripe is that the parking is very limited, likely since it's located within the local apartment complex. We had to park down the road and walk over to get to the shop.
