They are a bit pricey but their work is solid. Daniel came out to change filters in the R O system and he was knowledgeable proficient and on time! That pretty much represents all the trades under Parker and sons. Michael came out to check my smoke detectors and electrical box and was awesome. He detailed the tasks needing attention and was able to help me plan repairs, none of which needed attention that minute. I noticed my AC wasn't blowing cool air around 12:30pm today - inside house temp was 85 but thermostat set at 78. I called Parker and Sons, by that time it had reached 90 in the house. The woman said she would consider it an emergency and they got someone right out, the technician arrived by 2:30. He was friendly, quick and straightforward with his communication. My unit is only 3 years old so still under warranty (a capacitor had gone bad) - he had it up and running in under an hour, for just the labor cost of $200! As you read this review, I want you to make your own conclusion. I will provide facts only and leave emotion out of it. We made the appointment through Home Depot for Parker & Sons to come out and inspect our system. Our system was on borrowed time as we are currently in 2023 and the system in our home was the original from 1998. When they say, "You can't stop a Trane from running," they are telling the truth. I was worried about the recent heat wave and figured it was time. We had good luck and experiences using Home Depot for things before, but this service may have soured the relationship. We were quoted over the phone for an $89.00 inspection fee. The two trucks showed up. Both gentlemen were dressed well and clean. I will not share their names. One gentleman was the more experienced of the two and directed the other man on what to do. They started in the attic and opened the system. They made note it was probably time to look at redoing the insulation. After upstairs, they headed to the condenser outside and proceeded to open the unit and perform their tasks. After all was said and done, they returned to tell us of their findings and recommendations. To keep the current system up and running would cost about $2500. Keep in mind this was for "everything" that was needed or eventually needed. About $1000 of this total would cover 2 pounds of Freon. (You can always shop around for lower prices.) That being said, we proceeded to set up a time for a sales rep to come out and price out new systems. They ended up not charging us the inspection fee. Over the next day or so, we noticed the system was no longer cooling the house to 79. Between the hours of 2pm and 10pm, the house would warm between 85-87 degrees. The night prior to the sales rep's visit, I called the office and told them to cancel. When they inquired as to why, I told them what happened and lost trust in the company. The customer service rep asked what they could do to make it right. Upset at the time, I said I would send them my electric bill or the bill from the other company that would have to end up fixing it. She took the notes and said she would pass it on to her superiors. Needless to say, that was a week ago and I have to hear from them to make a goodwill attempt. We ended up finding another company to go with and they are set to install this coming Tuesday. Again, we knew our single stage system was on borrowed time, but it still worked. Your honor, I turn the case over to you. I am happy with the work. He did the job fine. The part that frustrated me was when he initially handed me the iPad for the final cost, it was over $850. I said to him "Parker&Sons is supposed to be a reputable company, why is it nearly a grand to tie in a power supply? He then made changes on the iPad and got it to $522. Where was that extra 300 coming from? Once that happened, it certainly made me question how things work at Parker&Sons. My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + Incredible customer service - 99% of the time when I call, the reps are friendly, helpful and get someone out in a timely manner. There is only one time (at 2 am when our sump pump failed) that the rep was horrid (but I will chalk it up to early morning - crap shift) + P&S stands by their work. My husband and I just moved to Arizona in April. We've had 2 ACs (expected), a water softener (now fantastic), a water heater (painful), a sump pump (excruciating), and most plumbing (varied) replaced. We've added a recirculation pump (amazing), pressure regulator (dumb but somewhat helpful), and reverse osmosis system (necessary). For a while, I'm certain our neighbors thought we worked for P&S. It has not been an easy road. For example, the first water heater (75 gallon gas) finished installing at 10:30 pm. When it was turned on, it had a manufacturer leak and had to be replaced the next day. Things were fine for about a month then we noticed the water just wasn't getting hot. Four visits later (including one technician who said the water wasn't hot because of work we were doing in the master shower which made zero sense), the heating component was finally warranted out and things have been good since. I'd say, half of our follow-up visits have been to replace work done earlier (leaking RO, leaking toilet supply line, replacement toilet lid, incorrectly installed AC wiring) and half have been due to things out of their control + There are true bright spots. Management (Stephen Hopple and Josh Quinata ) from the water treatment side of the house (who did a lot of the plumbing work which really confuses the CSRs) have been outstanding. After chasing a non-existent leak (as reported by the water softener), they rerouted the water line to the pool and replaced (with an upgrade) the water softener free of charge. While I'm confident they still made money, these actions (which they did not have to do) certainly ate into their profit margin - Which leads me to the most obvious negative - price. It is no surprise given how much marketing and the number of workers employed that P&S is expensive. At a minimum they are double if not triple the cost for a smaller operation. (Case in point, I paid nearly $3000 to replace my sump pump which should have been no more than $1000). Some of this is necessary as they do have very junior tradesmen (including the new timer who forgot to pull the dishwasher plug when replacing the garbage disposal leading to a dishwasher lake). With inexperience comes multiple visits to confirm diagnosis or correct work. I understand and even support on-the-job training. It's just ridiculous to pay a premium for it So - overall, I would give P&S three and a half stars. I am very generously rounding up to four solely based on customer service and the hope that future interactions with them will be more in-line with normal. I will say, when I proactively put replacing the second (septic) sump pump out to bid, I didn't even call them. I am getting that work done via a smaller company at a reasonable price. On perhaps the coldest day of the year, Christopher worked tirelessly, knowledgeably and with the best attitude in the world, outside, on a comprehensive 200-Amp panel upgrade. Neither bitterly cold winds, falling snow, complex wiring schematics or stubborn grounding rods kept Christopher from magnificently completing the installation. Robert showed-up from another project to install a dedicated 20-amp outlet, and then assist Christopher to identify all the breakers to the outlets and switches in our large two-story home. All of this done in the dark of early night with flashlights, laughter and 100% accuracy. Great Stuff. Truly heroic. read more

Parker and Sons are truly more than the average Joe. We have live in a manufacture home for several years where a room was added to the side of the house by the previous owners and consideration for a proper air flow was not considered by whoever they used. It was almost a year ago that our heat went out and money was in very short supply for us. However, we called Parker and Son to come out and try to fix the problem. We knew in the long run that this was a temporary fix and a new HVAC was unavoidable. Eleven months later in December the heat did go out and we called Parker and Son to put in a new HVAC. Even though it was during a busy holiday, they still managed to come out quickly during hours when we would be home. Few days later a supervisor came to expect the work. I suspect that those who put in the new unit must have told a supervisor of the improper flow of air issue. If left unchecked, this would have cost us more in our electric bill. The supervisor agreed of their findings and within days a crew came to fix the air flow issue at no expense to us. They also deducted from our new HAVC bill the cost of the earlier repair which saved us thousands of dollars. Yes, Parker and Sons is truly more than the average Joe and we would recommend them to all. Thank you again Parker and Sons! read more

The good- I called and got a plumber to come out same day. I had a squeal coming from a toilet and slow refill. The work was completed fast and all is well. The bad- sadly the bad outweighs the good. First, the plumber diagnosed the issue which ended up being caused by hard water and ruined a rubber gasket which was causing the noise and back up. Albeit hard to reach, the job took maybe fifteen minutes and the gasket cost about $.02. I was charged $425 for this service. No plumber is worth that kind of money. If it had been $100- 125.. okay! Client for life. Secondly, under the guise of "we have to protect ourselves and CYA" the plumber proceeded to hard sell me that a water softener guy was going to call and he was required to offer me options because I could ultimately blame P&S if something else happened. I was willing to accept that and expected a call in the next day or so. About an hour later I get an unannounced ring at my door and another P&S is out front. I don't answer the door unless I know who it is. So he proceeds to knock on my door and ring for the next 10 minutes. He then leaves. About an hour later he comes back unannounced. Does the same thing, then sits out in front of my house until eventually I call P&S and tell them to have him leave. Ultimately it felt very cross salesy. There's a reason they're on the radio. They make lots of sales. At least that's how it felt. So.. not a lot of value (feel ripped off) and feel sales guy gross after the deal. Not going to use them again read more

On the recommendation of a friend, I had P&S come out to give me a quote on a new heat pump split-system. All well and good, very professional. However, I ended up going with another well-reviewed service who offered a better system for roughly half the price. When the service guy called to check on whether we wanted to use them, I told him that we had gone with another company and why. He politely thanked me and hung up. So far, all good and professional. But now, for the last week I have gotten multiple voicemails from the P&S office asking me whether we want to go with them, even though I already told the service guy we are not. I don't know why he could not communicate that information to the head office. Worse, I am now getting multiple spam emails from them every day and when I click on the link to unsubscribe, it is a non-existent link. PS. I also note that when we bought our house two years ago, the inspector noticed that the hot water heater was improperly installed (it is not level). I noticed the other day that it has a big Parker and Sons sticker. So I feel like I dodged a bullet, though I fear I may be stuck getting spam email and calls from them for the rest of my life. read more

My husband called to get an estimate for repairing our AC unit but instead the tech called a sales person. The sales person came out a d told us a price of 16000 with out even knowing the issue. Also no one ever called us to even ask why with out knowing our issue. When we called to complain the woman said she would have some one call us back but NEVER HAPPENED. Prices are way to expensive!!!!! I had a service call for a change of a breaker and just for coming out was 280.00 and then to replace a breaker and service call was 377.00 for a 5 minute job. Took more time to do paperwork then it did to fix the problem. Never again! Ok after I posted this review, I received a phone call and after the phone call they are giving me a $200.00 dollar credit. Tech spends 5 minutes out there, says wiring looks in good condition, and I should just replace the fixtures (which my wife is very fond of). Otherwise, he can't help me...Oh, and that'll be $300 for the 15 mins he spent. I hired an electrician to fix an electrical issue! If I wanted design tips on my exterior decor, I'd hire a f***ng exterior decorator. So again, ill ask... is that how you do business?? He assisted us with obtaining financing at a price we could afford, being on a fixed income. He was patient and understanding our need to be in touch with our Home Warranty company and complete a prior claim involving the attempt(s) to rejuvenate our failing, previous HVAC system. On January 4th we called Chris to let him know we were ready to proceed... and he was able to get us scheduled to install the new system the next day. The Technicians Fabian and Steven were there before 7am and actually wait until after sun up to start work removing the old system. They worked continuously until just after 3pm when the new System was installed, checked and working... we have HEAT ! read more

I wish yelp had a zero-star review option. Parker and Sons were great when we purchased our AC units 11 years ago. For the past 5 to 6 years, it has been a constant hard sell on unneeded equipment and repairs. Why we kept their maintenance service all this time I have no idea, but this week was the last straw. The tech (aka salesman) said that at a bare minimum we needed thousands in repairs and that we would be better off getting new units. The units were working just fine by the way; we were just late getting our annual summer "maintenance" done. Found a great independent licensed AC guy here on yelp and he did the EXACT same bare minimum repair for 1/4 the quoted cost. I'm mean really???? And absolutely no need for the even more costly repair Parker and Sons wanted to do or new units. read more

Very thorough. My AC went out and I had a few estimates to repair or replace my unit. No one would offer a repair warranty past a year or so, so I decided to replace the whole system because Parker and Sons provided a 20 year warranty on all parts and labor. They were higher priced than others, but the warranty sold me. I also like they are a large business, so when things go bad, they can have someone out soon. As the project went on, we found the new parts weren't compatible with some of the old ones (zoning system) and the existing intake ducts were undersized. Parker and Sons went out of their way to make sure everything worked before they left at no extra cost to me. The technicians were friendly and respectful and answered all of my questions. I am glad I went with them. The extra $$ is worth the peace of mind. read more

BEWARE OF THE COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM. ABYSMAL POOR SERVICE AND CONDESCENDING ATTITUDES I have been a customer of this company for well over 15+ years. Not much longer. Today was the final straw. I have a maintenance contract with them (Have had several of them over the years) for A/C services. Bought a 12k Lennox unit from them prior. I had scheduled an appointment back in July for November knowing that the summertime is impossible for these poor repair folks in the field. It was the first appointment of the day 8-10 am window. Of course i received a text yesterday telling me they would be here and please be home when they call in the am. I'm sure you can figure the rest of the story. No call and no show. When i called at 1100 am to find out why no show or no call i got the same old song and dance that they called and no one answered so the office also called after their tech and then they moved on. This happens each and every time they either have a tech who doesn't want to get up early or some other party comes along. I don't usually write reviews, but this one is for all to know. A week ago, i got a call confirming my appointment today and also wanting to sell me some other part of the contract to take advantage of. Wasn't interested in taking advantage of that but did share i was wanting the tech to validate as i was ready to purchase a brand new unit. I have a Lennox high end unit and wanted to get some input as to make a business decision. Guess what i made it. Between their condescending attitudes, no shows and poor customer service it won't be a purchase from Parker and Sons that i make. i would rate the stars above -5 if they had a category for that. They installed my A/C unit and, after my most recent experience, I am convinced I paid too much. I was having issues with my pool pump and wanted to get an estimate on upgrading my electrical panel. They will not give out an estimate over the phone. Electrician came out, tested systems, and said that the electrical line was cut to the pump and quoted $3000 to dig up and replace line. I asked about routing line in conduit on block wall, was told it would be same price. Another electrician quoted $200 to run line through existing PVC pipe underground. That's a $2800 difference. The line didn't need to be replaced because it turns out the pump is dead. To recap: misdiagnosed problem, quote that was 1000x more than the solution would cost by another licensed electrician, and no estimate before visit. The only thing I would call Parker and Sons for is the service work on A/C that is covered. read more

This is the first time I am giving someone less than a 5-star rating... and it's based on my bad experience with this merchant. I came across Parker & Sons at our local Costco earlier in the year and paid for AC tune-up for my multiple AC units just before summer started. The technician who came home spent a couple of hours and showed me several pictures on his phone about the state of affairs, along with a list of actions, and asked me to replace all the units since they were over 10 years old. He offered some discount if I signed up immediately and pressured me somewhat to do it right away. I asked him to email me his report and recommendations so that I can review them when not in a rush and make a better decision. When I did not receive that email, I reached out to their office after a few days and they sent me a sketchy report without any useful information. I called their office to provide me more details but  still did not receive those after multiple attempts. I then raised a dispute with my credit card company for the charge since this merchant did not provide me the promised services, and got a refund from Amex, who charged that amount back to the merchant. The merchant called me after this to pay those charges again, however, still did not provide me the details I requested. When I declined to pay, they sent this to collections, and I then had to deal with them myself earlier this week and eventually paid the amount since I did not want this to impact me adversely in any other ways. This has been a really terrible experience and I hope others watch out and don't go through a similar ordeal. read more

Yesterday's project, replacing a dying water heater, was no different. Estimator Joe showed up right on time Monday morning, listened to my concerns, laid out several options without pushing me toward any in particular, and got me scheduled for service that afternoon (where I'd been expecting "Due to supply chain issues, we can't actually do this work for another 45-60 days"). Techs Russ and Santino pulled the old heater, installed my awesome new Rheem 50-gallon hybrid along with an expansion tank and pressure regulator, and left the garage in better condition than when they arrived. They came out gave us a good price for the installation and duct cleaning. The guys that did the installation were great. Did a good job and cleaned up. The next day we had the ducts done. On July 2, 2021 my 4-year-old air conditioner quit working. One installed by Parker and Sons. The leaking coil, that was still under warranty, was located and I was told I would have to pay for the labor. How much, I asked. $2410.00 I was quoted. Another company replaced the coil and charged me $$1808.00 for the coil AND the labor. It took 2 1/2 hours to replace it. If you are thinking of using Parker and Sons, know that you will be charged almost $1000 AN HOUR for labor. Personally, I was shocked. read more

We've been Parker and Sons customers for years. They have always come in clutch in a few cooling emergencies, and they don't try to sell us services or products we don't need. They installed a new AC unit on our house yesterday, and the process was smooth and efficient from the estimate, all the way through the haul away if our old beast. The techs, Francisco and Thomas, showed up early, got started right away, and had everything done and dusted before it even had a chance to get warm in the house. And they were quiet, too! Great since I work from home. I was a little worried anticipating having to juggle work and the dogs, in a warm house... But that worry was wasted. Everything was smooth as silk! What a bunch of CROOKS!!!! Free Estimate is also highly inaccurate. They came out to fix a leaking leaking bathroom sinks. I turned the water off awhile ago because it was dripping. The guy came out and didn't even turn the sinks on to see why it was leaking. He just said I needed to replace these???! Then asked if I was interested in a water softener. He quoted me $3300.00 to replace 4 bathroom faucets. Then charged me $79.00 to come out and try to upsell me. What a great business plan to send a sales person out to try and sell you then charge the customer for that. Go to lowes for this. I can buy 4 new faucets and have them install it for less than what they wanted to charge for one faucet. read more

They were true to their word every step of the way. I don't think they were the cheapest available, but, their professionalism and the work they did was worth what I was charged.
