I have only replaced air conditioning systems twice. Parker was our second contractor and they were wonderful. They protected our house with floor to ceiling plastic sheets to protect the canned goods in our pantry where the attic access is located. They changed the a/c 220 switch in the main breaker box. They also put down canvas on all the floor space they utilized. We are more than pleased with Parker and Sons. Everything in our garage (hot water heater-water softener) was installed by Parker. I had a leak in the line that goes to my freezer's ice maker. Had to shut off the main. Called these guys and they came out and monkeyed around for an hour, gave me a tablet with the fix options (no prices were shown). I assumed a small leak repair would cost around $200 to $300 but I should have asked. After he fixed it, he said something to the effect of "It was going to be $800, but I got it down to $650. I had no choice but to pay. They later called me back and asked me about the work and I said it was fine, just too expensive. The lady I talked to said she'd give me 20% off, which brought it down to $500, though its been over a week and I haven't received my credit Update: They called me right after I posted this and insured my credit would be issued and sure enough, I got it the next day. They asked if I could "fix" my review a little so I am. These people try to rip you off. read more

I have used Parker and Sons for 29 years and they usually have good service. Not now. They replaced my AC two weeks ago. A lot of rain today and it is raining in my hallway. I agreed to the Costco purchase of the ecowater system. I'll give that system a few months before making a review, but Parker & Sons were the outfit which make the sales pitch and installation. It was expensive to be sure. I don't like how there isn't a displayed cost for water softeners, no reason it has to be shrouded in mystery. I've had a Kinnetico system for ~ 14 years, and they were the same way. I did not stay with them because they were estimating another $10K job. Plus their RO filters were expensive and required their techs to come out and install. In contrast, the Fleck system is closer to the price I wanted to pay, but I wanted to get my house back on a soft water setup ASAP, and P&S made it happen. Larry, the sales rep, came to my house Fri evening and went over everything with me. He was polite to my wife, put the shoe covers on when entering the house, and is a nice guy. I could tell he wanted to make the sale and was looking for any way to make it happen. I was interested provided my research on them and the water softener checked out, so we make a tentative deal which I could cancel the next day. The estimate was a bit over 60% from what the Kinnetico was, but they would finance it 0% for 12 months, and I got some % back from Costco, plus they would install it two days later on a Sunday, so I wouldn't have to miss work. So I was interested. I read through the negative reviews and found many of them bogus, so I kept the agreement. Brett and Art came at the agreed upon time on Sunday, they were polite and professional, installed everything correctly and cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job. I will consider using them again for future plumbing work. read more

If it wasn't needed for me to be able to post a review, I wouldn't even give them one star. I had an appointment for a phone jack to be installed into my wall on 1/18 with a 2P- 6P window. I scheduled this appointment weeks in advance, by the way. I get a call a couple hours before the appointment asking me to reschedule because there were "more important" jobs to tend to. I said no but Parker & Sons so kindly called me back a few hours later and told me they were rescheduling it anyways. It got rescheduled to 1/20 with an 8A- 10A window. I call at 8A to make sure they weren't going to switch up on me again and customer service reassured me that the assigned technician was almost done with his job and I was next in line. I get a call 20 minutes to the end of my window saying the technician's truck had problems and I had to be rescheduled because apparently no technicians would be in Surprise for the rest of the morning. They said that someone could come out the same day between 4P and 6P and I know you won't believe this but... they rescheduled again... lucky me. This time, they just rescheduled me and sent me a confirmation text. How cute! I call in to see what happened and customer service apologized and said they'd give me a $100 credit because my appointment got rescheduled again. While we were sitting on the phone in awkward silence while he was pretending to talk to a technician to see if they could come sooner, I was reading Yelp comments to see if anyone in the state of Arizona has ever had a positive experience working with this company- which looks like a negative. I noticed people are saying this place is very overpriced and I brought that concern up to the person helping me- he said this service would be around $125 before the $100 credit. A technician came to my house today and said he could do the job- with the $100 credit applied, my total was over $1,200 still. My soul left my body when he said this and I definitely did not get the phone jack installed. This place is so overpriced and unprofessional- please do not waste your time. read more

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Parker and Sons this week. They came out to inspect the A/C system of a property that I'm trying to buy. The technician and everyone on the phone was great, but he recommended purchasing a new unit. Fine. However, after I paid $189 for them to inspect the system, they then refused to quote me a new unit without me paying another $189 for another inspection, despite the fact that their own technician just crawled all over the house and recommended a new unit. Seems pretty clear that these guys are making margins on their quoting process. Pretty sketchy way to do business. I called one of their competitors and they of course had no issue getting me a free quote. read more

They came out and provided me with a quote to replace the AC. Everywhere else that provided me with a quote at least got on the roof and looked at the AC. I had 1 back window measured due to what I was told was the sunny side of the house, and then a sudden quote provided. Sooooo, here I am waiting.I had a 10 AM to 2 PM appointment and each time I called they tell me the tech is going to be finishing up and he'll be on his way and they've told me that now for the last three hours and they refuse to give me any information and they're told to not give me any information at all either. How about a simple phone call to follow up and say you're going to be late but they don't even have the common courtesy to do that and they've wasted now 6 1/2 hours of my time and still no one has showed up. We needed a new AC unit because our 20 year old unit was becoming unreliable. Home Depot was advertising AC units so we had them send someone out to give us a quote. We decided to use their contractor. This unit from Parker and Sons was installed December of 2022 and here we are in August of 2023 and it doesn't work. Not only does it not work and we have a service agreement and it is all under warranty, we can't get anyone from Parker and Sons out to fix the problem. There are no good AC companies in AZ but Parker and Sons is the worst. Shame on Home Depot for using them to install AC units or allowing them to rip off their customers. read more

Our water heater rusted through... and must've been leaking quite a while before the water made it to the broken gasket that let it get into the walls. Water and wet drywall everywhere. It seems like these things always happen on Saturday or Sunday... which means no dishwashing, no laundry and no showers until someone can get out to look at it. Unfortunately, this is the second time this happened to us... but fortunately we already knew who to call. A quick call to Parker and Sons and they sent a master plumber (who called a second master plumber) our way who then exceeded all expectations! I must admit, I was surprised to find such talent so easy to come by!! We opted to purchase a tankless water heater. Our home wasn't plumbed for gas, so a new gas line would need to be run. Our plumbers knew exactly how to solve each problem that came up. Dave worked with us to get the proper permits from the city and completed every step by the book!! Future Junior plumbers would do well to learn under his skill! He was efficient, smart, kind, and boy, does he know his trade!! I am confident that our new water heater will meet all our needs for years to come with no more worrying about 50 gallons of water leaking and ruining walls and floors! It's so nice to have a go-to company for plumbing and so many other things!! Our tech told us that if we didn't spend $700 on recommended services that we would have flood damage and it was an urgent matter. I scoffed because every visit as a maintenance customer always included some high dollar upsell. What I wasn't expecting was for him to be so thirsty for the unnecessary work, that after I declined - he went full misogynist and called my husband at work to try to get him to sign off on the work. When my husband explained to him that women are just as capable as men, he left along with loose screws in our unit. A subsequent visit from a reputable company confirmed, no work was required and the units where fine. Screw you parker and sons for your shady scare tactics on loyal customers. And I think maintenance customers should know that the techs come in with an upsell target on each customer visit (I was quoted that it's around $900).. shame! read more

At exactly 5:45 the tech texted me saying they were behind schedule and for me to reschedule and or ask questions from the company. I woke up to water in the garage, coming from a leaking water heater. It was Christmas Eve. My usual plumber couldn't help me. I tried a couple of independent plumbers without luck. Parker & Sons had a plumber out in about 2-3 hours. He had to get a water heater from the warehouse and then installed it. Excellent work. Good brand of water heater. The reason for only 2 stars was the cost. My old water heater (6 years old and same size and brand) cost 1/3 (parts & labor) compared to what Parker & Sons charged me. What can you do on Friday, Christmas Eve, but pay the exorbitant cost? I understand inflation, but a new unit costing 3 times more in just 6 years? Had this company complete a plumbing task. Had no choice due to time constraints. They do quality work but at 3 times the price. Had them scheduled to do a small electrical job, but was quoted $1200 for a job that ended up costing only $400 thru another contractor. As a salesperson myself, I couldn't believe how absurd their pricing was. They quoted $4600 for a water heater. I called Lowes right after and got pricing for a similar unit.. for $500, with installation it was $1,300 (6 year warranty). Whoever manages this branch, I'd love to understand how you allow this. Great service on the front end. That would be the end where you pay. During installation I called sales agent to ask if A/C unit was used as it was scratched and sides were bent. I was told he would have a supervisor come to check it out. That was Thursday. Today after several conversations with staff I was told someone would come in 2 weeks to check it out. The unit works fine but clearly not a new air conditioner. The fact that someone wasn't sent over to check it out leads me to believe they are shilling used equipment and don't feel compelled to make it right. Today I realized the wooden hide that I had built was not assembled correctly and must be re-built in order to avoid collapse. This is no way to treat customers and while I have 10 vouchers for maintenance, I would rather pay my old independent guy to keep it running. If this unit isn't either replaced with a new one or discounted we will more than likely be headed to court. read more

Water was pouring out of the foundation. I called a discount plumber and he told me to dig up the yard so I dug and could not find a leak. He told me to dig some more, it's 110 degrees outside I told him I'm not digging any more. He hasn't called me back since. Parker and Son's was out the same day and found slab leak in bedroom. They stopped the leak and rerouted the plumbing the same day. I had them cut out and replace all my rusted out bathroom and garage angles stops while they were there. Leak is stopped and all the faucets, shower and toilets work flawlessly and get a 10 year free parts and labor warranty. Parker & Sons is not the cheapest plumber but in Arizona you need water and you need AC so worth it to hire the best. Kudos to the plumbing techs Ian, Jake, Moses and Sam for doing an excellent job. read more

Parker and Sons did some drywall repair at our house. The work was terrible! Had to have the tech out three times before it was acceptable, and when the tech left the last time I was given a sand block and told to sand it before painting it. The tech was only at our house for 3 hours the day he came to do the repair. They were WAY overpriced. $975 which was $150 for material, which means the labor was over $266 per hour! Did not want to refund, wanted to give credit for plumbing or A/C check up. Would NEVER call them for anything! read more

Their mistake cost me $950. We recently had a garbage disposal replaced by Parker & Sons, who we have used for many years. Although I understand some big group bought them out recently. When they replaced the garbage disposal, they failed to remove the plug that would allow the dishwasher to drain. The next time we used the dishwasher, it did not drain and I believe the pump motor failed. So, I bought a new dishwasher. The installer discovered the error Parker & Sons had made and fixed it. Who knows if I really needed an new $950 dishwasher or not? Rookie mistake by someone who called themselves a plumber. Buyer beware!! read more

I got a quote from Parker & Sons to repair it and the plumber told me what the problem was and offered a few solutions at different prices. He explained everything pretty well and took off after giving me some quotes. Was a pretty solid experience. Very professional and I didn't feel like I was being sold anything. read more

Well not your average Joe has a problem with being responsible for appointments made over 3 months prior to service. I scheduled a service inspection for 25 July. I just found out they bumped me to September 26. This is a breach of contract because I pay for a service fee monthly. When I pay for a subscription for service priority I expect the company to live up to their obligations. I fired Joe and I want my subscription money paid back because they failed to meet their promises. I'm not holding my breath. read more

I purchased a unit from Parker and Sons 3 years ago through a deal with Costco. It came with a free service plan that I quickly found out was just an excuse for a technician to come out and try to upsell me on junk products. In the past year, I've had numerous scheduling problems, including no shows and absurd lead times. One time I received an unsolicited call to schedule some routine maintenance and when I agreed to do it the scheduling window was 4 months(!) from now. The last straw was when I started having a minor issue with the unit they installed and scheduled an appointment. The only way to describe what happened is that I got ghosted. No one ever called or came and when I called to follow up I was always promised a call back that never came. Needless to say, I'm done with this company. read more

We agreed on a price for the complete new system and with a minimal deposit, they scheduled my for the following morning. Their window was from 7 am - 10 am and Roberto and Genaro were there at 7:20! They were very polite and caring for my flooring as the trek from the front door to the air-handler was not short. They even asked permission to use my rest room facilities. So professional! The job was completed the same day and by dinner, my house was lovely and cool! The level of incompetence and complete lack of customer service is shocking. Missed the four-hour service window twice, and nobody answering phones could provide any information. Home Depot uses them for renovation work, so make sure if you go to HD for a project to tell them to NOT let them work on your contract. Oh, and once the plumber showed up the work itself only took an hour, but I couldn't get him out of my house for /another/ hour -- that answered the question of why they can't show up on time. Trust all the poor reviews and save yourself the hassle and expense and stay away from Parker and Sons! We made the mistake of having them install our new unit, paid double the quotes of others but thought being a big company they wouldn't have supply or staffing issues and would be more reliable, but they are incredibly unreliable and dishonest. It has been nothing but problems, they do shoddy work and lie to their customers. After multiple visits back out they still haven't corrected it. Scheduled another appointment and the day of they call and say tech is running behind, hours later tech was a NO SHOW and the office still said he would be out but he never came! On a 120 degree day when we desperately needed AC for the seniors in the house. They have a bad reputation for a reason and the only thing they care about is getting your money!
