We are new to the valley and choosing Parker and Sons for an HVAC replacement turned into an excellent decision. Very competitively priced they were one of three quotes we received although not the lowest. It was the most detailed and professionally presented. In April, I called and asked if I should have my ac unit inspected (house built in 2018) , since my house isn't very old. The customer service rep reminded me that we live in a desert and it would be prudent to do it sooner than later. Broc was our technician and he did an amazing job. He took pictures and video of the outside unit and the one in the attic, then sat down with us and went over every one of them, explaining to us what was going on. We had two solenoids that were going bad and their warranties were expiring in the next few months. He replaced these no charge. He also showed us the missing components our builder didn't bother installing. Crucial components that they are not obligated by law to install but prolong the life of the unit and increase output efficiency. He was courteous , patient and professional in every way while explaining the good and not so good things he found. He even showed us things we could fix ourselves to save some money. He was in his van for about 30 minutes,came back in and presented us with three different proposals. He explained the pros and cons of each and emailed us the pics and videos. We have noticed a significant improvement in our air quality and the coolness of our home. If the rest of their workforce is half as good as Broc is, you need to call today and get your ac unit inspected. Beyond price gouging! I am replacing a tankless water heater. Parker and sons contacted me in a timely manner. Looked at existing heater and informed me that the cost to replace it would be $9200! If I supplied the new heater the cost would be $3800. This is a plug and replace project I noted. The work will require 1 man - no more than 4 hours. At $250 an hour the install cost should be no more than $1000. New heater from Home depot with all bells and whistles cost $2000 (less a $600 rebate). read more

One of our two fifty gallon water heaters failed. Called Parker and Sons at 602-2-REPAIR (602-273-7247). A plumber showed up shortly & confirmed the water heater had failed & was wasting hundreds of gallons of water a day, which was running out through the blow-off valve on the top of the water heater. Talked to Andy O'Crowley in Water Treatment sales within an hour. Andy arranged for two Navien tankless water heaters to be installed the very next morning! Jose Ochoa, Parker and Sons plumber, did a wonderful job, with assistance of coworker, Juan, of getting both Navien tankless water heaters up & running as quickly as possible. We had our 21 year old AC replaced 2 days ago and Parker did an amazing job! We love our new AC system and we are so much more comfortable in our home (we were either freezing or sweating) not to mention the unit is super quiet. I have a large, energetic dog and I didn't have to lock him up during our installation, the gentlemen were so relaxed they put the dog at ease and pet the dog as they walked by. I recently used Parker and Sons to replace both my heating and A/C unit in my condo. They were the recommended company that Home Depot provided. Everything was mapped out for me in terms of pricing, servicing, quality of equipment, etc. There have been no surprises or hidden fees. I was even able to have the equipment installed with 0% financing for 12 months. Although the price point of this company was higher than some of the other companies I got quotes from, it seemed that Parker and Sons were the most reputable, reliable, and had the best customer service ratings. Their team of professionals are experienced and really knows what they are doing. I guess only time will tell, but so far I am very happy with my installation. 1. I am not an A/C professional. 2. Parker & Sons supposedly has the best reviews in the Phoenix area. 3. I cannot speak for "Every" technician working for Parker & Sons, or for anyone else's experience. Only my own. 4. Technician arrived according to schedule. 5. Technician took pictures of the ice-covered internals of our A/C. 6. Technician "Took Pictures" of the outside of our return vent... without opening it. 7. Technician informed us that: a. We had a leak in our system. b. Because of the icing over, he could not attach his gaugers to our system, but that the problem was definitely a leak. c. Tracing down the leak, and repairing it was about ¾ of the cost of a new system. (Since our system was over 10 years old, he could not, in good conscience, advise us to take that option.) d. The cost of a "decent" replacement, with modifications, would be about $14,000, and the cost of the best system would be over $20,000. e. Financing was available. 8. I asked the tech to submit all the details of his recommended "Options", which he did. 9. I was asked for reviews. 10. Since I am not in the habit of throwing out thousands of dollars, let alone 10's of thousands, I decided to do some research as to reasons for why A/C units ice over and stop cooling houses. Here is what I found: a. The #1 reason A/C units have this problem: Residents forgot to check and replace their A/C/ filter. b. #2 reason: A/C refrigerant leak. c. #3 reason: Problem with the fan motor 11. Since, by far, the #1 reason is failure to replace the A/C filter, I asked my wife when the A/C filter was changed last. Answer: "We need to change that?" Since I hadn't bothered to check it in 5 months, and we have 4 cats and are doing construction, AND SINCE THE A/C TECH DIDN'T CHECK IT, he only took a picture of the outside, I decided to open it up and take a look. a. We have a steel framed filter. If it wasn't steel, it would have been sucked into the opening a long time ago. A whole cats worth of dust, hair, ... fell off the outside of the filter (Large kitten, small cat... I'm not kidding.) And that's not what was packing the inside of that filter element. b. I removed the filter and picked up some "El Cheapo", greatest air flow, littlest restriction, air filters. The result: While the previous lowest house temp was over 90 degrees with the A/C running constant, we were down in the 70's within 3 hours and got it down to the low 70's in 6 hours. (We probably could have gotten the house temp down in the 60's if we wanted to do so.) c. The solution: Less than a $2, not a $20,000, filter. 12. Conclusion: Either the tech got his A/C certificate out of a Cracker Jack box and didn't know the first thing about A/C, or he just wanted to make his commission on a $20,000 + A/C unit replacement. Why do I say this? a. No gauges were used to verify anything. b. There was no inspection of the A/C filter at all, nor was there any testing as to the air flow or cooling difference without the filter in place. (Again, #1 reason for the problem.) c. After watching some YouTube videos, I discovered: i. In more than 50% of the cases, a visual inspection of the parts of the A/C can locate oil associated with a leak, and feeling for oil deposits can verify the location to a large extent. ii. Spraying a soap solution on the most common areas for leaks usually results in confirmation. iii. In the case where the above fails, Evacuating the system and pressurizing with nitrogen often results in the ability to locate the leak audibly confirmed with the ability to fell the leak. iv. In the instances where this fails, dye can be injected and the system examined after about 1 month has elapsed. This, almost always, locates the leak(s). v. Total cost for the above, "IF THE PROBLEM ISN'T THE FILTER, AND THE GAUGE TESTING VERIFIES THE LEAK." INCLUDING THE REPAIR, usually less than $1000. d. My conclusion: Unless the price is less than $1000, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Search google putting in all the details of the problem found looking for details as to how to locate the problem, and the reasons behind it, along with how to locate exactly what that problem is. Why? Because there are always people with no integrity who want to steal tens of thousands of dollars from you by doing unnecessary work when a less than $2 solution would fix the problem, "If they had integrity and were willing to do their job correctly.". 13. Can I say that all "Parker & Son's" techs would have done this? No. Can I state that every other company out there doesn't have technicians willing to cut corners and ignore possible cheap solutions to replace your entire system for $20,000? No. Could be all companies have techs that do this, so even getting a second opinion might result in the same result. ERGO: Do your own homework. I spent a whole hour doing research. I saved over $20,000. That's a profit I got to keep of over $20,000 an hour. Anybody else making that kind of money, for an hour's worth of research? read more

Purchased a Lennox AC Unit in April 2019 (through Costco), and Parker and Sons has been fantastic. They installed, and have checked it twice a year since the install. When I also built a Casita out in the backyard, I had to move the AC unit temporarily for plumbing, and they helped with that. This review has two parts...first, I am happy with the technician who came out to look at my main breaker, which kept tripping. He seemed very knowledgeable and patiently explained the issue, told me exactly what needed to happen, and everything went according to plan. That issue being resolved, he did a check on my breaker box inside, which turned out to be some what of a mess, and he took care of that as well. What I have issue with is Parker & Sons business practice, which outweighs the service I received so drastically, thus the 1 star rating. The technicians of course have no control over the pricing, they simply punch in the components on their ipads, much like the cashier at McDonalds, and pre-priced quotes are generated. I was grossly overcharged for what was done, one example being that I was told the permit to pull off the panel for the main breaker cost $500.00, when in fact I confirmed with the city of Scottsdale that the permit was $110.00. I contacted the company to ask for an itemized invoice, which the very rude and arrogant man on the phone refused, saying they "don't do that", and gave me the information stated above regarding their menu choices and pricing. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told that that would not be possible...really? I have always supported small businesses, but It is just bad business to flagrantly rip people off to such an extant. read more

Not a fan. As a Costco preferred provider, I decided to give them a try for air conditioning system check and maintenance. The service provider arrived on time and was very friendly. After the check up, I was advised that though the systems were running, I should replace a capacitor and fan motor for $400 and $1,000 respectively. Seemed like alot of money, so I looked up the capacitor part number on Amazon. $18.95 Hmmmm. At work, my friend said he had a friend who handled air conditioning maintenance. He came out and reviewed my needs. He replaced the capacitor of $120. As for the motor, he said they speced a motor that is very expensive and not suitable for my older a/c. He said no point in changing it now and that when it failed, he would replace it for $260. So much for Parker & Sons, in my opinion. Seems like they need the money grab to pay for all their commercials. read more

I had parker and sons come out do to a water line emergency and they did an excellent job. So i had another issue that was not an emergency with both a tankless and a tank water heater. I was given the opportunity of 3, 4 hour blocks of time on a Monday. I chose the last block due to work issues from 2-6pm. I received numerous text and email notifications confirming this time. However, after making sure i was home by 2, i received a phone call at 2:30 saying they needed to reschedule. So, i took time off for nothing. And they could have called me hours earlier so my whole day was not disrupted. I called and scheduled an appointment. The appointment was approximately two weeks out. My window of time was from 10 AM to 2 PM. I received a call at 12:15 letting me know that I had to reschedule. That was all there was to it. I could not have my appointment. I had to reschedule. I told them no, I don't have to reschedule and said goodbye!!!!! I am a 1st time customer they were recommend to me via J. Yamamoto. I signed up for the monthly payment that includes a spring and fall inspection. I love it!! They let me know when there maybe an issue coming down the pike-or what needs to be taken care of. They were prompt, cleanly, and friendly just like their commercial says. While a plumber tech from Parker & Sons was at my home to flush our water heater, he offered to do a plumbing check in the house. After completing that check, he came to us with two "problems" he thought we should address. First he felt all angle stop risers under each of our 6 sinks should be replaced due to mineral corrosion. Second he felt we needed a pressure regulator, to better control the water pressure as it entered our house. These two things sounded important to us, and the work was authorized. I did feel the charges he presented to us were exorbitant, so after the fact I have priced the parts, using the exact same brands and model numbers of the parts. An angle stop riser costs $4.37, and took the tech 20 min to install. we were charged $324 for one and $306 each for the others. We were charged $835 for the install of the pressure regulator. The exact same model costs $91.67 through a competitor, and took 30 minutes to install. I will never have this company do plumbing work for me again! Beware if you need a plumbing repair done--or if you're told you need a repair done. will be taken to the cleaners by Parker & Sons! read more

June 3rd is not an acceptable time frame to fix a wrongly installed ac unit. Especially after it was looked at a month ago by your technicians and they knew it was installed wrong and said nothing. Its already hitting 100 here in phoenix and we have people who work from home and have to sleep during the day. Not to mention im very susceptible to heat and we have 3 cats. Replacement of two rooftop Heat Pump systems and remove/cap ducts of two swamp coolers. Did a quality install in one day with friendly, efficient installer. I was really impressed with actions, activity of the installer. Great crew, all of them. When recognized, they made improvements to the ducting to achieve better efficiency at no extra cost. They also noticed a serious defect with the electrical, breaker panel which required a complete change out. They clearly showed me all the reasons this was necessay and it was obviously a safety issue. This did cost extra. Overall, I strongly recommend Parker & Sons. read more

This company is an outright scam. Very inflated price quotes (February 2023) which are considerably less with other local, reputable companies. I will never go back to this business as I literally believe they are scammers at the top decision makers. I was told by my realtor to never go to Parker and Sons due to inflated gouging.
