Received a call from Parker & Son's 6/6/23 that our 3 yr warranty is expiring. We have a 2 yr old AC unit (They had to replace to first one as the technician who installed it kicked the pans and subsequently flooded our garage). We are past due for maintenance BUT Parker & Son's cancels EVERY time we have them scheduled. So because Joe "promised a technician will be at your home tomorrow, June 7 between 2-6 p.m." I agreed to schedule a maintenance appointment. I told Joe someone would be home all day for the technician to come and do the maintenance work. Joe promised the tech will call 30 minutes before he arrives. Today, at 3:23 pm I get a text stating the tech is ready to head your way. Call or reply to the text if you are available. At the same time, Anthony left a VM to confirm my appointment, (WHICH WAS CONFIRMED YESTERDAY!), then he calls 9 minutes later to say, " we've had a tech on standby for 15 minutes, call us back to reschedule your appointment." WTH? I called as soon as I was done with Physical Therapy at 4:30 pm. Mark answers and hemmed and hawed his way thru a script of, well you've missed your appointment, you have to reschedule. My appointment is for 2-6 p.m. today, and it's 4:30 and the tech hasn't finished for the day I'll bet. I asked to speak with a supervisor and literally was told I couldn't speak with one. After being placed on hold, Mark comes back to say that "dispatch doesn't have a tech to come to your home today, so we can come tomorrow, or the next day. Um, no, my appointment is for today. Not tomorrow or any other day and I'm still within my window of time for my appointment. Again and again, I asked to speak with a supervisor, but Mark continued to ramble on about how I can't talk to a supervisor, nor can I have my maintenance done today. I again demanded to speak with a supervisor and was told I could hang up the phone or listen to him tell me (lame excuses) about why they can't do the job today. When I said, so maybe I should just call back with an emergency and then you guys can come out tonight, right? Mark's response was, no we won't come out today. Parker and Son's flat out sucks! Sadly, we've dealt with them since 2017 and every single year their service worsens. They have horrible customer service. Their motto is simple: The customer is always wrong and Parker and Son's is always right. This is the second time they have cancelled maintenance service in the last 3 months on us. Doesn't count the more than 4 times they cancelled on us last year either. Supervisor Alba/Alva called at 5:03 p.m. She doesn't know who cancelled our service appointment today (um, you guys did!). She can't promise she can have a technician come out today, but she's more than happy to reschedule to a different day....(well sweetie, you've still got 50 minutes until my appointment window is closed, so your tech should come out and do the job....) She was kind enough to call back to tell me that "dispatch says they don't have any techs available for maintenance calls today." Best phone call with the best lies comes from Brian with dispatch, who calls at 5:30 pm "due to the high number of emergency calls we can't come out today. I'd like to reschedule your appointment." Premium pricing coupled with poor installation and customer service. It took them days to fix installation problems (electrical and water leaks) they created. The after-hours telephone customer service representative was rude and unhelpful . I needed to call a competitor to fix the problem as P & S repair person did not show up. He was too busy upselling us than our needs and when we asked about other products that we want installed from home depot he wouldn't even offer. Had our old water heater checked out. Turns out we needed a new water heater and Mike was able to install right then and there. Took a few hours, but he did a great job and was very informative regarding what he was doing as well as future maintenance. Called the next day to get our water softener checked out and install an under-sink RO system. A different Mike came out and did an awesome installation and operating lesson for both the softener and RO system. Both Mikes were professional, informative, and extremely knowledgeable. Both were very communicative about arrival time and showed up on time. read more

I've had great service from Parker & Sons for the last 9 years. Very responsive and the techs that have made service calls this year are always wearing masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. They are definitely pricey on some of their products, and would benefit from doing a little market research to justify what they charge for certain things. I recently purchased my house and wanted to be proactive and get a tune-up done before it got hot. I am finding out their "tune-up" is basically an inspection that comes with a VERY expensive list of recommended items. They recommended $2700. My biggest shock was that their website says they focus on cleaning and dust-- but the quote showed almost $800 to clean the fan blades and the coils! That is such an obscene amount. I would expect a tune up would at least consist of wiping down the fan blades in the blower! I am regretting that I signed up for their package- $120 a year to come out twice a year to inspect the AC is not what I was expecting. Time to shop around and get an AC company that will actually do something. read more

Our AC went out and had someone from Parker and Sons come take a look. They checked it out for 10 minutes and said we needed to buy a new AC unit that would cost us $10,000. We decided to contact a local company and someone came out and fixed our AC for $400. Turns out it was only missing a new motor for the compressor. I do not trust Parker and Sons. Had them out today to try and fix a AC unit. The tech was here maybe 20 minutes told me the problem was the compressor and was gonna cost $5k to $7k. Or I could get an new unit for $10k to $12k. I had two more AC companies out. One actually fixed the unit and it was the motor at a significantly less cost to me. In addition I got quotes on units from $5500-$7200. If I could give a negative 10 I would! This company is a complete rip off! Our AC unit we t out, called them, they can out late afternoon. Replaced the fuse box on the unit for FIVE HUNDRED PLUS DOLLARS! It's July in Phoenix, desperate to get air going again. It started working. Then the repair guy says this is a band aid and will last a few months but you'll need a new unit! Ok..., he grabs his iPad and shows me the cheapest u it would be $12500, they'll take the $500 off from the part we got....Then says the high end energy efficient unit would be $19000+....WHAT?! am I buying a car. I said I'll have to think about it. We went out to dinner and grocery shopping and came back and the house was 86 degrees! I called, got the local service. Explained. He said they might be able to get someone Friday if a cancellation happens or Saturday for Sure! Friday morning, woke up to a possible heat stroke, got a air BnB! No call on Friday. Saturday around 6:00pm, received a call saying they couldn't come out and had no 32 foot ladder to get on the rough, plus, it was getting dark?! HUHHH?! Apparently, they called me on Sunday...no voicemail, I don't answer strange numbers. Monday I called the office and talked to Monica and said I'd like to file a complaint. She said ok started taking my info and then we got "disconnected". I tried calling back and was told "Monica's on another call can she call you back?" Sure....5 days later and still no call back! Jim, the technician, was very knowledgeable and polite. The problem is that he was here for about 6 hours, he located two lines that were under the kitchen floor. The hot water line was leaking underneath the slab and I agreed for Jim to repair the leaking line by pushing a smaller pipe through the leaking pipe. We also agreed that he would sleeve the cold water pipe as well because I knew that buried pipes on homes built in Arizona are almost always incorrectly installed and leak prematurely. I was charged $289.80 to locate the leaking pipe. That seemed like a fair price. After Jim located the pipe I had several holes in the drywall, which is understandable, that's where the pipes are. Jim then quoted me $2453.64 to sleeve the two pipes. I thought, "Wow, this sleeving must be pretty complicated, however, Jim was able to finish the job and leave after a total of about 6 hours. The material he used was minimal, maybe a couple hundred bucks. That leaves about $2,543.00 for Jims labor. I agreed ahead of time to the estimate, but I sure thought it would take longer than 6 hours to do it since the estimate was pretty steep. I had no idea that plumbers cost $423.83 an hour. I am a repeat customer with Parker and Sons, but maybe not anymore. I think I'll call them and ask for a more detailed breakdown on those costs. The worst company experience I have ever had. Three different hvac sales con artists. My ac system needed a new blower motor. 1350.00 and it's still not working right. The last ass that was here today only tried to sell me things I did not need. My ac system was working fine until they put in the "new" blower motor. Since Monday the system would shut off then it reached the set temp. They sabotage my system. I cannot set my thermostat any lower than 74. I have stopped payment to those criminals. I used this company to replace my circuit breaker a few months ago,for my house with excellent care and service. Even signed up for their service plan. I now contact them to have 2 outlets added to my home, and the ripoff began. First service worker (Freddy) stated that all bidet toilets needed to be ran off dedicated lines, even though they work off of simple 110V outlets...THen the second service worker(Andrew) comes out and says that it can be done.... but will cost almost $1k to add on 2 outlets in my house. New outlets would tapping off of other outlets, that are less than 2 feet away.... You can't get any assistance or information contacting them by phone. Wonderful, professional service. My heater went out and the process became a month long nightmare! I found Parker & Sons and they got my problem fixed quickly. Their employees wear booties over their shoes when the come in your house and cover any carpet with plastic. I think that is very thoughtful. Came home last night and my air was out. Recently had my a/c tuned up by Parker and Sons through Home Depot. I called Parker and Sons who advertise to be available 24/7 for emergencies. Well guess what--They are NOT available for emergencies. They have an answering service that answers the phone after about 20 rings, takes a message and sends it to the email at Parker and Sons. You actually get a call in the morning after 7 or 8 am. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH PRKER AND SONS A/C AND HOME DEPOT FOR CONTRACTING WITH PARKER AND SONS. After multiple calls to a/c companies, I hired CLIMATE PROS (Matt) who was honest, professional, pleasant, understanding, etc.... Parker and Sons misrepresents themselves as a 24/7 company. I am in shock over the ratings from people on this company. I had my AC go out late on night and I called in the morning for a tech. They said 12-4. Did he show in that time? No. But he called and gave me a time frame as to when he would be there. When the tech showed, he was polite even for late in the day. I would never use them again. I called them for two minor issues and when they showed up I was gone to work and my 96 year old mom was there. I'm fairly handy just didn't have time and frankly was tired. I know for a fact the parts they used did not cost over 20 dollars and he was not there even an hour. The bill was over 600 dollars. That is total BS. What do they charge by the hour, over 500 dollars I guess. When I heard I told my mom don't pay and was told too late already paid and he was gone. I've used Parker & Sons on a couple of occasions. Most recently, they were able to fix a severely clogged drain. From phone call to fix it took less than two hours. I also used them to find and fix a leak. They were able to fix the problem for the most cost effective and safe solution. I will continue to use them because one time I had an issue. They made a mistake. But, they fixed the mistake quickly and reliably. I want a company that not only does things well. But, in the rare case there is a mistake, they stand by their work and make things right. To me, that is extremely important when choosing a trade. read more

DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS COMPANY!! You will definitely be taken advantage of. I have never been as frustrated with a company as I am with Parker and Sons. I had a new AC installed 3.5yrs ago and purchased the "Extended, cover all parts Warranty". This AC cost $10,000.00. My friends have had their AC replaced, between $6-$7k. If it hadn't been 115 degrees we would have shopped around but they offered us 2 mobile AC units until install day. At the time we were told that we needed insulation at $2100.00 more, which we did. We have done our 6mo service calls religiously and today my tech informs me that my coils need to be cleaned, and of course there is a charge. What about the "Warranty"? Doesn't seem to cover this. Tech, who is a salesperson, cut me a "deal" for $378 to clean 2 coils, down from over $1000. I wanted my water, reverse osmosis, filters changed (included in warranty) and of course that couldn't be done because my water pressure regulator was not working properly, $875. Was told that if I didn't clean my coils and the compressor or condenser went, it probably would not be covered. Every time they walk in my house it costs hundreds of dollars. Every time I speak to a tech, they apologize for the "Sales People" who gave me misinformation. This is a greedy, Sales, not customer-oriented company. Initially had a disappointing experience with Parker & Sons. I went through Home Depot Services for an HVAC tune-up. The first appointment their technician only inspected the Condenser and did not do the tune-up. I called and they were responsive and rescheduled to complete service paid for. On the date of rescheduled appointment a time frame of 12p-4p was given, at 3:45p I called to make sure technician was on time and was told that they were finishing up a previous call. Way overpriced! We needed a new water heater. I called Parker and Sons since they are a well known name around the valley. The technician said it would cost $1800 to replace. I had researched prices on the internet and thought it would be around $800-1000 based on my reading. I asked Joe, why so much? He said "no plumber will install a water heater for under $1000." He said new government regulations have made them change water heaters in the last 5 years so now they are more expensive. Also, our condo is on the 3rd floor and requires 2 technicians to install. So I believed him and just paid the money. Big mistake! I researched a bit more afterwards and it was a lie. Water heaters cost under $1000. In fact we bought one for our house 4 years ago and it was $800. Proskill plumbing put it in --call them! They were great. I contacted Parker and Sons and spoke with a manager. Got the same lies. We are a bit higher priced (more like double!) but we have 2 year warranty instead of 1 year. Great--I get to call someone I don't trust if something goes wrong.
