They quoted me a price for replacing my three units with top of the line Lennox units. With the additional Costco rebate that I was getting (they are the installers for them in this area), their bid was the lowest. They sent a crew of 6 workers to do the job, and were done in only 8 hours. The drywall worker was at my house the following day to repair the ceiling (where they had to cut out to get access to the attic). All of the workers, including the sales representative, Josh S., were courteous, professional and conscientious throughout. I would highly recommend Parker and Sons for HVAC replacement. read more

Needed a new water heater after ours went out and everything went well. The worker did a great job, but only after we had it installed did we realize that we may have just paid double what it actually cost. The water heater itself cost about $1500, but we ended up paying about $5600 for everything. After asking for an itemized receipt to see where the extra costs are from (my husband and I went through and calculated the costs for what we should've been charged and it came out closer to $2000 just for parts. Meaning labor and removal would be close to $3600) they just continued insisting that that's their price they ask for period. No rhyme or reason, that's it. Obviously, there's nothing my husband and I can do about it now, so we'll pay it and hope they don't charge us extra for using our "lifetime" warranty (that they said was lifetime, but according to the receipt it will be 2 years). We will never use Parker & Sons again. Go somewhere else that's more reasonable with their prices and won't try to make you wait almost 2 months for an itemized receipt that isn't actually an itemized receipt. read more

I had an annual check of my AC which did not include any repairs. The tech who was very polite and an excellent salesman told me I needed a new motor for my outside unit as my particular AC was 12 years old and this would extend the life. He quotes me $1000 and change. I did not receive a breakdown or itemization. I take full responsibility for the decision. Note the work took an hour. So either the engine is made of rare metals or the hourly rate is in excess of $700. After the fact I looked up the part and it was a max of $200. Price gouging. Tech was very nice and an excels t salesman as I let myself get suckered. Don't sign up for annual plan. Don't use their services. You will not feel good. As a new home owner I rely on my mom for a lot. So when I called her on Sunday evening to tell her my AC is not working, she immediately said, "Call Parker and Sons!" I called them (nicest customer service reps answering the phone) fearing that I wouldn't be able to get someone out to fix the unit until later in the week, but no, they came out the next day (Labor day). The technician, Imbert was there on time - I was the one who showed up to my warm house 5 minutes late. He was polite and knowledgeable; within seconds of turning the unit on, he knew what the problem was. After checking everything out and sharing the solution with me, I decided to move forward with Parker and Sons fixing the unit. And I am sooooo happy! I didn't realize how warm my house was until the issue was addressed. My home was usually set at 78 degrees but now, it's at 80 (feels like 75)! I'm not complaining either because as many of you Phoenicians know, it gets hot! Thank you Park and Sons for the quick service and for reaching out to me to make sure everything went well. (Because I didn't call around - who wants to have a warm house in the summer here - I can't say whether it was a deal or not. But I can say that I know enough about the value of my home, health, and sanity and that the price I paid put a smile on my face. It was a great experience! Our service guy Eddie came to do the check up, gave us a quote on maintenance, and then came back to do the work. It was great to have the same tech do the whole thing. Mind you, it wasn't cheap, but we hadn't really done anything to our HVAC system for 3 years, so it was a good value for what we got. The system is cooling much better, now too. Eddie showed me the blown surge protector & I was telling him how the last storm blew out the electricity to our patio circuits, too, which my husband couldn't fix. I've had a service contract with Parker and Sons for years and I agree with what others have said about attempting to up sell all the time. I hate to admit that I've fallen for it on the past costing me thousands! Well, not anymore! They told me I needed almost $3000 worth of parts when they come out to do my biannual a/c checkup. I decided to get a second opinion. ABC/15 Arizona rates Howard Air #1 by customer reviews so I called them. Kent came out and after spending an hour or so going over my a/c unit, he said it needed NOTHING and charged me NOTHING! He did agree with Parker and Sons that the fan motor bearings were worn but said as long as it's working there's no rush to replace it and his quote was $850. Call Howard Air. You'll be glad you did! Don't call P&S unless you wanna unnecessarily spend thousands of dollars!! And Lynn B business manager, please don't respond telling me you want to look into it. You had your chance. So it's April 23rd called Parker and sons had an emergency with plumbing at 7:30pm the lady who answered the phone told me that it would be a bit before I get an eta. I asked what a bit was and was told it's a bit, well it's 10:40pm and still waiting on a bit. So much for my emergency thank God I called Hero plumbing they showed up and called back immediately. I literally just had my air serviced by Parker & Sons this past Sunday. My air has suddenly stopped cooling and the temperature in my house continues to climb. At this point, I don't think I will do business again. It seems very convenient that less than a week after a full preventive service for air to fail. Either the inspection was incomplete or this is an opportunistic failure. Either way, you've lost my business for good. After calling with an emergency situation in this heat, the best you can do is tomorrow. Not an adequate response on my opinion. So I had another independent HVAC company come out and fix my problem. As it turns out. P&S tech had to have replaced a working capacitor (registering 40.02 from inspection report by Parker) with a defective one (registering just over 6). I watched as both the existing and new capacitor were tested. No capacitor goes suddenly from a green operational status overnight to failed status. Additionally, while inspecting the overflow shutoff switch the tech kept twisting and messing with it into I made him stop. It turns out all his messing with it also broke the switch. This is a new home with all factory installed equipment inspected every season. After a single inspection by Parker all hell broke loose and my air was failing. The tech tried hard to get me to agree to replacing the capacitor and seemed disappointed when I said no while he acknowledged that was running within spec at the time he was here. I'd like Parker to explain how they allow this to happen at what is presumably a reputable HVAC company? It appears you pressure your techs to replace as much as possible to pump up sales. In this case, your efforts lost you what would have been a life long return customer. I hope it was worth the damage to your reputation! read more

Our water heater started leaking badly. Fortunately all the water was diverted to our side yard and didn't flood the garage. I contacted several companies and Parker and Sons responding quickly with an excellent quote. Ours is power vented so it isn't an easy install and difficult to find a replacement quickly. Josh was out early the next morning and did a fantastic job on the replacement. He was professional and did a thorough cleanup after. The only replacement they could find was all the way across the Valley and a higher end model than they quoted but they honored the original estimate. I would definitely use them again! read more

Alright folks. Let me be clear: stay the hell away from this company. When they're selling you something, they have outstanding communication and customer service. After they get your money, they don't give a crap about you. Last month I bought a complete new ac system. Almost 20 grand. When they installed it, they didn't have the correct number of thermostats, nor did they have the correct filter sizes for me, even though the salesman documented everything. Oh, they broke a picture frame while they were here as well, and didn't pay for a replacement. Anyway, I had an appointment for today between noon and 4. I called at 4, no tech. Asked to speak to a supervisor, and one called me at 5. She assured me I was a valued customer, and that the tech was finishing up a job and I was next. I called again at 7, no tech. This time, I was told that the 1st tech, tyler, wasnt answering his phone. So, i got bumped to eddie, the 2nd tech. Again, he doesnt answer, and I got bumped a 3rd time to Brock. Again, I was repeatedly told I was next, and the tech was finishing up. I called again at 930, guess what... still no tech. Of course, Brock wasn't answering dispatch, and the guy on the phone told me that they had no one to send me. Apparently, just because i was only having a thermostat installed, i was considered a low priority, so it was ok to arbitrarily disregard my appointment, and not even give me a courtesy call. These people are un-freaking-believable. How the hell can 3 techs refuse to answer didpatch and still have jobs at the end of the day?? They flat-out shined me on and lied to me multiple times. But hey, at least they got my 20K. read more

Melvin #1 (electrician) arrived on time, polite and knowledgeable. Recent house sale required a licensed "electrician" to perform 2 fairly simple tasks. Replace GFCI breaker in outside electrical panel and replace GFCI outlet, right below the electrical panel. Let the price gouging begin! Breaker replacement.....$325.00, (breaker is maybe, $40.00 part), GFCI plug replacement.....$325.00 (plug is a $19 part)!!!!!!!!! Technician was here for 30 minutes....10 minutes was discussing the situation with me. Melvin #2 (HVAC technician) arrived on time, polite and knowledgeable. Recent house sale required an A/C "tune up" for a perfectly working system. Technician noted that the system was working fine, but one of the capacitors looked a little old, and was starting to leak, and one of the Contactors (switches) at the outdoor unit was cracked, but worked.......because of the sale, I opted to replace for the future owners. Replace Capacitor = $377.06....the Capacitor is a $22 part. Replace Contactor = $439.90....this is a $14 part. Technician was here for 45 minutes. this is PRICE GOUGING!!!!! I have had Parker & Sons for a few years now and they have been great to work with. During peak times service can be delayed but it's no worse then any of the other HVAC companies in The Valley. Every visit the techs are super communicative and always explain everything. During my last visit Gary was awesome and fixed my heat pump within an hour. read more

Called Parker and Sons to charge an old AC unit. The technician called and could not get into the property; He was at the wrong property. I gave the technician the correct address he climbs on the roof and tells me this is a 35-year-old unit and needs to be replaced. Yeh I know that -- He then gives me an estimate of $11,000 to install a 4 ton unit, I laughed. The technician then says.. well how much do you want to pay.. I said I'll get a quote. We replaced 5 units last year.. Folks as a rule of thumb use 1500.00 per ton for a new unit. I emailed Parker and Sons to ask if the unit was charged with freon. No response. I called two AC companies both quoted within 500.00 the same price for a new unit $5800.00 installed 10 year warranty parts and labor. read more

Just finished with an appointment and couldn't be happier! We had an 8am-12pm window which was fine because we asked for a free estimate since the issue with one of our showers was an odd one. Their technician, Sean, arrived at 8:01am despite us living on the very outer region of their serviceable area. (See pic) He knew exactly what was wrong, quoted me a price which was what I paid, not a dollar more, and within 15 mins, the problem was fixed. I have absolutely no understanding for large companies that charge outrageous amounts of money for freon for an ac unit. I will not name the tech that came to my home because he needs a job just like anyone else. I will say that when he gave me Parker and Sons' price per pound, and he saw how blown away I was, he then told me he could probably reduce it by 100.00 per pound. That would have been a 30% savings. I sent him home. Today I was charged 150.00 per pound. That's less than 25% of what Parker & Sons wanted. Do not call Parker & Sons for freon. You will get ripped off. read more

Not your average joe indeed. The plumber was sub par, and the rates were way, way above average. Parker charges a fixed (astronomical) rate, no matter how many items they repair. This might make sense if only one task was performed, to account for travel time. But when more than one task is performed, you are paying for travel time more than once. To top it off, the plumber failed to properly execute repairs and Parker had to send out another plumber to properly complete the job. Check competitive prices before you call Parker and Sons. read more

Have always gotten prompt return calls for any issue, as well as prompt service for anything critical, even after hours or weekend. Techs and repair people have always been polite, professional and provided satisfactory service, including post-job clean-up. They do tend to be more expensive than other companies and usually try to upsell as well. Just installed new HVAC system and quality is not the same as 15+ year old one that I was limping along with. Called about some issues --they got back to me the same day, set up an appt. for supervisor to check out the system. Tom was knowledgeable and explained why I was having issue (just wish the first crew had done it right!) and scheduled issues to be remedied. Satisfied with the re-do but annoyed with another 4-6 hour inconvenience. Also concerned about inconsistency in competence of personnel but glad the company is willing to remedy situation. read more

Highway robbery! Contacted Parker & Sons for a garbage disposal that sounded funny. The house is only a couple years old. Was told we need a new disposal and it would cost between $650 - $750 depending on which model we wanted to go with. Looked online and same disposals are around $140 for the disposal alone. Contacted multiple other plumbers and the cost for the same disposal plus install and tax would be $370 out the door for a new one but would most likely be able to fix our existing for much less. Have an appointment to move forward with another company. read more

I bought a Garbage disposal from Home Depot and was told Parker and Sons would do the installation. I had an appointment scheduled for 10AM - 2PM on a Tuesday. About 12:30PM they called and said they were running late and would be there some time after 2:00PM. I said OK and waited until they called again at 4:30PM, saying they couldn't make it that day and I would need to reschedule. They wasted my whole day for nothing! Well another scam. I was paying every month for service. The first time parker and sons showed up on time and did a maintenance on my a/c. I was pleased and gave a 5 star review. I continued paying the monthly charges. 6 to 7 months later, I made another schedule maintenance and I received a confirmation. My appointment was for 2 pm. I took off work and waited. At 2:40 pm, I got a call from Daniel at Parker and Sons and said the technician can't make it. Well they got all of my monthly dues and now they won't honor their commitment. Well, they boast that they service even weekends, day and night, I guess that is all b.s. I lost all of my monthly payments, and I bet they won't refund all the money. I saw them from a Costco warehouse, since they were selling Ecowater RO I asked them about my existing Hero 375 model and it's replacement filter. Their representative (I guess Alan) was extremely friendly and explained I can call them to get the filters shipped or can book appointment to check water quality to decide filter change. I booked appointment, couple of pros came and checked my unit, they found water quality great, advised me to change of filter as optional or change it if quality goes bad in 6 months or so. They helped me to get the mobile app working, fixed the battery issue in unit, showed what to Watchout for filter change time. All of these were done "no charge". Normally I have seen any other companies they charge service fee for it or indirectly force to change filters to get that charged. You guys were awesome, thank you helping me out during this super inflation time when families struggle to meet both ends !! read more
