This restaurant is amazing. Came here once or twice a week for about a month when I was in Milwaukee. The food is very solid, 4/5 stars. Great variety on the menu, wholesome/hearty ingredients, and they cook your food exactly how you ask for it. The sauces are never overbearing, the spices never out of balance. Just a really, really great restaurant. What makes this place so special, though, is the service. Made multiple 15 person orders here, and they never once messed up the group order. My boyfriend and I came here on a date night and absolutely loved it! We didn't have a reservation (which you can easily make to sit in the main seating area), but were told when we got there that if there was anything open in the bar seating that we could have the full menu there. I actually think I preferred sitting at the high top tables near the bar as it had a more lively atmosphere. We were waited on right away and got a flight of beers to start (decent sized beer menu). I ordered the braised short rib sandwich and my boyfriend the burger (we obviously love our beef). They were both amazing! The meat was so tender and delicious. Farm to table. Food is fresh and excellent. Very flavorful. Braised shirt ribs were definitely worth it. One of their proclaimed specialties and they are very good at it. Service is top notch. Pork dries, yum! Flatbread, delicious! Brownie dessert, decadent. While visiting a friend in the area, she suggested this lovely place because she had heard great things. I was a little annoyed with the call ahead seating but once we had our table all of the troubles were gone. Our waitress was beyond great and that really goes a long way. I had Parkside 23 cater my wedding and they were AMAZING! I have a lot of food sensitivities and allergies and they had no problem catering to those! Being the bride I wanted to make sure I didn't get sick on my big day from the food or cross contamination, Parkside 23 made sure I did NOT get sick. For the appetizers they gave me my own gluten free and dairy free platter so I had nothing to worry about! They also made me my own personal plate separated from the buffet so I wouldn't get sick! They take allergies very seriously and accommodate the best they can! We did not get dessert through them but they were kind enough to set out all our desserts on the tables. I made an announcement that one of the bundt cakes had to be smashed for ice cream and they went ahead with direction to smash it and got all our desserts ready. Everyone at the wedding commented how delicious the food was! Highly recommend Parkside 23 for any parties or celebrations especially if you have food allergies! We called on 5/6/19 to make reservations for Thursday night 5/23/19. We wanted to make reservations for 7 people. The person from Parkside 23 responded back that they only take reservations for 8 people. I explained to her that we were originally from Wisconsin and currently living in Tampa, FL and coming to Wisconsin that evening for our wedding anniversary and wanted to take our family out to celebrate and chose Parkside 23 as the location. To which she responded that I could call back the morning of 5/23 to see if we could get a table. Really? On a Thursday night - you can't take a reservation for 7 people? Your loss Parkside 23 - so happy for you that business is that good that you are ok with losing our Thursday night business of a $600+ bill. read more

Despite living only about 10 minutes away, I only stumbled upon Parkside 23 because of Yelp-- but then I saw lots of Yelper friends had already reviewed it, so I'm just convinced now it's officially a hidden gem. I'm still learning my way around the Tosa/Brookfield area, but this place will stay on my list for sure! We went here for dinner recently and sat in the sun on the patio. When we told our server it was our first visit, he was happy to make recommendations of popular selections and his personal favorites. We ended up ordering the pretzel-crusted veal from the core menu and the brat bacon mac n cheese from the weekly specials menu. Both were so good, we just swapped dishes halfway through. Excellent, fresh flavors-- the veal/spaetzle/asparagus combination was fantastic. They also have a solid beer menu with local craft options. All in all, a great visit and I'm already looking forward to going back soon! read more

I feel bad--somehow a review meant for a local Pho restaurant ended up here! I do remember this place, I have been here twice (as mentioned in my review of the Pho place) but was not disappointed! The food at Parkside 23 is very good--I even recall the tasty meatloaf and the apple, ummm, cobbler I think. Sorry to anyone I confused with my mediocre review of the Pho place! Usually a favorite place but not thrilled to walk up and see 7 or 8 empty tables outside and be told it's a 45 minute wait to sit outside A potentially better response would be to seat us and get us some drinks and figure it out .... instead we went to Cafe Hollander which was completely full but they've figured out that having a couple drinks while you wait works well for business read more

I was visiting Milwaukee on a business trip and was glad to find a highly rated restaurant near where I was staying in Brookfield. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ambiance inside the restaurant is nice and the service is very good but the food was very subpar. I tried the kale salad and the dressing was far too sweet. I tried the veal and spetzel and it was very salty without needing to be. After mentioning this to the waiter, he gave me a complimentary dessert which was good. I wouldn't go again. read more

Phenomenal customer service!!!! They saved the night! On September 30, my fiancé and I went out to for our anniversary. First we went to Bonefish Grill and they made us waited for a table which is normal. But when we sat down, nobody came to greet and serve us for almost an hour. They're not even busy at all. We left there and called this place to let them know we're on our way and want to make a reservation in case they close soon. They were so nice and ready for us. They serve us right away and this place was packed and busy. The host and waiter was very kind and constantly checked on us. We didn't wait long for our drinks and food. Everything there taste so amazing. Love their watermelon salad. I had it one time and I've been talking about it to my fiancé to try. Now he finally tried it he love it. And he's not really a watermelon guy. They gave us dessert to finish our night off. Everyone here just smile and kept greeting us making us feel special. Nice atmosphere but a little dark for me. You could tell my waiter was new and had every line he was supposed to say memorized. I had the cedar plank salmon because of the waiter's suggestion and he was spot on. It was great, but the buttery sauce made the plate. I ended the night with a berry cobbler with ice cream. The food, atmosphere, and service is always good and keeps me coming back for more. I especially like the flatbreads and beets salad. The freshness and quality of the food is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. We stopped in at Parkside 23 around noon on a Saturday and ordered from their brunch menu. As my eyes worked their way down the menu at about every other menu item I announced that I had found what I thought I wanted to order only to read on and find another enticing option. However, I knew my search was over when I saw that they had a Monte Cristo among the offerings. I was not disappointed by my meal choice. It was the best Monte Cristo I have ever had. It consisted of ham, turkey, smoked Gouda and fried sourdough bread. The use of sourdough and Gouda was a nice upgrade from a typical Monte Cristo but the real surprise that really made the sandwich was the bits of rosemary - yummy! It is then served with a side of white cheddar hash browns that were tasty as well. Service was a little slow during our visit but other than that it was a great meal. read more

My coworker was heating up her lunch yesterday and for once I thought they smelled amazing. Upon further investigation, they were the pork medallions from Parkside 23. This is a place that I've heard of, but never bookmarked or made it out there. When I got home and realized there was no food, I quickly suggested we check this place out. The rest is a beautiful memory. Parkside is nestled off North Ave in Brookfield on the land of it's own sustainable farm. Most of their herbs/spices and vegetables are not only grown locally, but are grown on the plot of land you're sitting at. Plus - their meats are all locally sourced from friends and farmers in the area. The dimly lit dining room was inviting and romantic, but not holding itself to an uncomfortable prissiness. Our server was fun and friendly, he was manning a party of almost 10 by himself, so he was stretched a little thin but that was understandable. I started off with a glass of the Charles and Charles Pinot Grigio, and it was delicious. For a starter we ordered the creamed corn. "Why would we just want a dish of creamed corn?" asked my naive partner, well you wouldn't know until you get this hot ceramic vessel filled with the creamiest, butteriest, crunchiest corn and most savory bacon chunks that you will ever have. The corn was fresh picked, the bacon was crispy and salty, the cream... I am salivating just thinking about it. For entrees Joe got a shrimp linguine dish that was a special. He complained that it was very oily, and not much of a flavorful "sauce". He said the shrimp was cooked perfectly, but that there wasn't much else going on in the dish, and he likely would not order it again. I on the other hand, would wait outside in a Black-Friday style line to get this meatloaf again. The large slab of mixed meats had a perfect thick sear/burn on the outside (I would venture to say that the meatloaf was legitimately burned, and as a chef, I never would have sent that out to to a customer), HOWEVER it was absolutely how I would like it. The veggies, a fresh and bright mix of green beans and carrots, were underseasoned in my opinion, but I appreciated the simplicity of steamed, fresh vegetables. The mashed potatoes were unfortunately a little dry, but I didn't mind. There was a sauce served with the meatloaf, like a ketchup and it really balanced out the dish. The food was seriously phenomenal, and the service was good and the place was great. ABSOLUTELY cannot wait to come back and try everything else on the menu--though I may always have to start with the creamed corn. read more

Parkside 23 is a great dinner place with family, friends, or for a date. They arrange plates by price, not necessarily by size. The food is pretty much farm to table. I especially like Parkside 23 because it's cozy and I feel good about eating local produce and meat. However, I only am giving four stars because there are lots of options out there in mke and the surrounding areas that are doing similar things. The cocktails at Parkside are sweeter, pricey, and not very creative or boozed for the price. The menu is great but I wish they'd change it up more. I went last night for the first time in 2 years and it was basically the same. For farm to table one might think they would take a more seasonal approach beyond the specials. That said - it's worth experiencing and supporting. It has a classy supper club feel with healthy options. read more
