I really enjoyed my food at Persis! The highlight was the paper masala dosa. It came with a perfectly crispy amazingly huge dosa and really delicious potato masala, sambhar and a couple chutneys. I especially enjoyed the tomato chutney it came with. Seriously, I think this was the best dosa I've had in America. It really was spot on on all the flavor. What really stood out was not only the impressive size of the thing, but also the way the dosa was just the right amount of buttery and how tasty the accompanying items were. The other items we ordered were also really good. The corn manchurian had great flavor and was scrumptious. The mirchi baji was great, not too spicy but definitely had a kick. For dessert we got mango and pista kulfi. Kulfi is this type of indian ice cream. The kulfi at persis was really great, it was a perfect end to a memorable meal. Will definitely be back. read more

Having been in food service I know this isn't always done correctly, so I am impressed by their attention to detail and I will continue to give them business for Chancery Village. This restaurant is relatively new the cary area. It has a nice quiet ambiance. The buffet is delicious-separated into vegetarian and non-vegetarian, along with a small salad selection and usually one dessert choice. The buffet doesn't have a huge selection but a decent number of choices. read more

We catered an event for 200 ppl and they did a phenomenal job! Food was ready on time, actually called to say completed a little early so pick up was a breeze. They secured all trays very well and loaded in car. Everyone thanked us for the delicious idli, sambar & coconut chutney. Price was reasonable and about the same at other Indian restaurants but quality makes them my go to for catering needs. Would definitely suggest to them to my friends. The team did a great job, from the chefs to the manager who stayed in contact to confirm and update whenever needed. This was our first time at Persis and we really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The pappadum and salsa that comes with it has just the right crunch and the perfect spice level (). For an appetizer we tried the Samosa Chat and were not disappointed. I think that is our new favorite appetizer! I had the Chicken Tikki Masala and absolutely loved it and my husband had Biriyani for the first time which he liked. Another one in a number of disappointing Indian restaurants in the area. What works for the restaurant is the decor and the location. Tastefully done, but have some challenges during buffet for people to move around. The one time we went to the lunch buffer- a few weeks after they started the buffet, the food seemed ok. Not so good was the idli and the sambar in the buffet. Pakodas and bhindi were decent. Overall for a quick lunch bite not too bad. Another visit during dinner time. Even more disappointing.dead give away were the mint chutney and coconut chutney. The mint chutney looked like ot was made from a mint flavored green powder- terrible is being generous. Same goes fo the cocunut chutney. The dishes themselves were passable - good quantities mediocre quality. Somehow Indian restaurants in the area have to realise that authentic and good ingredients and good preparations - even a tad expensive is ok- people will come back again and again. I would also give a zero for their very poor and unprofessional customer service. We decided to go for this for a change during Fathers day for a lunch. I called them up much ahead of time for a table for 6 people, the person who took the reservation asked for my phone number and name which I gave. We landed there a minute late because the parking lot was full. There was a guy with a piece of paper writing names, when I approached him he said there is no reservation. I asked him why didn't they tell me on phone when I requested a reservation. Then he changed his story that we came a minute late so he gave that table to another family. The highest was that guy with the paper, said either wait or eat elsewhere! Of course we would if they told me about their "reservations" policy. Came with much expectations, Persis Indian Grill didn't meet up mine and lost another customer. Even the ambiance and table setup inside wasn't up to the mark for what they claim in their website. I am so disappointed. My family and I came here on a Saturday and ordered off the menu as opposed to the buffet. They brought our appetizer (chicken 65) out quickly. We order a boneless chicken biryani and lamb tikka masala. After an hour of waiting, we left. The waiter told us the food was ready but they had still brought nothing out, and the restaurant was going to close soon at 3 PM. We also noticed that two other families that came in after us received their food very quickly. Waste of time and a huge disappointment. read more

I tried it just recently after hearing neighbors rave about it. It's good and a nice clean, modern restaurant. I was hoping for rice pudding but the food I got from the buffet turned out to be a yogurt with rice mixed into it. So it looked like the only sweet dessert they had at the lunch buffet was "date mousse." I didn't try it but my friend said it was good. Everything else, the chicken, naan, vegetables were fresh and tasty. I can't remember how much it cost (masala chai was free and self-serve next to the food-- a nice plus); it was a pleasant experience. We'll be back! read more

This is third time I had horrible experience with online order from persis Indian grill. Last time I ordered gongura chicken and they gave me something that had only pickle masala in it and was tasting like horrible chicken achari. Called them to complain, they take it as if nothing has happened and offered a sorry. This time I again ordered the chicken and specifically told them about last experience and requested to make it medium spicy. This time it was super hot (extra extra spicy). We had to throw half of it and when I called them to complain, whoever picked the call said we will look into this tomorrow but that tomorrow never came. I have seen food taste improvement over the time in this restaurant but my to go service experience is horrible and i wish there was a zero star for that. read more

The food is ok, but the restaurant's setup makes it almost impossible to maintain good social distancing. There is a single door for entry/exit with fences on either side leading to it so if someone is outside and you're trying to exit, you have to get too close to them. In addition, if you're food isn't ready (and really, I was there 10 minutes after the time they gave us so there's no excuse for it not being ready) then you have to go inside to ask if it's ready, wait inside the small area they've blocked off (where social distancing from other customers is impossible) or go outside to wait. And if you go outside to wait, there's no way to find out if it's come out and is ready or not. The entire setup is a bit of a clusterf*ck to be honest. Even just opening the front door for people to exit so you're not going in and out of the same door would help. I mean, I get it, restaurants need to be open so they can earn money. That's fine. But unless they change up their setup so that it's easier to stay distanced from people, I will not be coming back here again and if you value your health, I suggest you give them a pass too unless they make changes. read more
