I'm posting on Yelp for the first time to share my disappointing experience. My partner and I dined at Parm after walking around the Copley Mall. The location is very convenient and it was nice that we were seated immediately on a Saturday night. We ordered the tomato bruschetta to start, which was fantastic and the only highlight of the dining experience. For our mains, we had the chicken parm with brussels sprouts and the fusilli bolognese. Unfortunately, both entrees weren't very noteworthy. We both felt that our mains were overpriced and there are certainly better Italian options elsewhere in Boston. I also need to mention that our waitress was incredibly rude (it seems like another reviewer had the same waitress). Throughout our dinner, she was cold towards us and would stare at us from the kitchen. Despite this, we tipped generously. What shocked us the most at the end was when she placed my card after I paid on top of a tomato that was dropped on the table when the rest of the table was clean and the plates were already cleared. On top of this, she rolled her eyes when she walked away from our table after we paid. I don't know if she was just having a bad night but given that another reviewer also mentioned similar things, it doesn't seem like this is a first time occurrence. read more

Here on business and looking for an easy meal, I have to say, my experience was pretty good. The Rigatoni Carbone was really tasty - just the right amount of spice and a nice creamy vodka sauce. The roasted Brussels with picked onions were exceptional. I got mine to go and waited, sipping on a glass of Barbera Monferrato, while it was prepared. This place is wildly inconsistent. They gave me the same amount of food in my "large" salad as would be in the small. +$7 for nothing. New Italian Resturant located in back bay! I came in with my mom for lunch and was seated right away. The space itself was smaller than I expected, with one long bar on the right and a couple tables on the left. We ordered the "infamous" garlic bread and fresh burrata. Unfortunately- our garlic bread was more on the burnt side- the burrata was just as I expected it to be. The rigatoni carbone was delicious! Pasta was a La dente, and the cause was creamy and delicious. It has some small pieces of what looks like pepper. Definitely tasted the spices in this dish. The Spaghetti and Meatballs were awesome! Loved their spaghetti pasta, and the portions were all a good size. I would definitely return, probably try some of their other apps next time! read more

First time ordering through UBER the delivery was on point. they arrived when they said they would. We actually sat outside to have lunch, and there was no plasticware packed, had to go all the way back to the hospital cafeteria to get something to eat with and napkins. Tried Parm on a whim last Saturday, and was unimpressed by one major food issue, liked other aspects of the meal. To start with the good, the service was efficient and friendly, and while the room feels a bit Spartan it was quiet and comfortable, even with other tables occupied nearby. Oldies music plays softly and was a nice touch. The good food: hot and crusty bread with lots sesame seeds. Pesto arancini were tasty if not very boldly flavored, and the chicken parm was tasty and a nice portion. The reason for two stars? The pasta. There were two pastas on the table and while the sauces were nice, the pasta itself was remarkably overcooked; think canned pasta, but that holds together better than this did. Pure mush. This is an Italian/Italian-American restaurant? On our visit, the pasta was abhorrent. I would be interested to try Parm again, and ask for al dente pasta, perhaps explaining nicely why. Worst italian sandwich ever. Meat visually appealing, but zero taste, and challenging shoe leather chew. Ratios ALL OFF: 80% mortadella, bread both crumbly and dry - $17 to boot. never again. i even changed ends of the sandwich assuming the other end had to be better. it wasn't. in closing, if this keeps ONE PERSON from eating this sandwich, this was worth the time. read more

My coworkers and I met for dinner after work and were looking for a new place to try. As we come back into the office, we're realizing that some places have closed since Covid and there are some new places to try. Parm is around the corner from our work, it's easy to get to, and in a prime location near the Back Bay T stop. Although it doesn't initially look large, there is plenty of table seating, but if you don't have a ton of time there is takeout too. And as anticipated, the menu has plenty of Italian options from chicken to pasta and some unique appetizers, including Buffalo cucumbers. The service was pretty good, and the drinks came out quickly. Portion sizes were average, but the dishes were unique and tasty. I had the rotini genovese which was absolutely delicious. I wish I had grabbed a picture, but was so impressed with the presentation, I couldn't wait to dig in. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal and we would definitely go back next time we meet up. read more

For a restaurant called parm to serve an almost flavorless and completely unsatisfying chicken Parmesan sandwich should be a crime. Chicken was under seasoned. Sauce was bland. Mozzarella was mild as it should be but did not help with the blandness. Bread was strangely puffy and the sesame seed coating was confusing and detracted from the flavor profile of an already bland sandwich. Do I need to say bland again? I'm fine with elevating a chicken parm but it must be scrumptious and ultimately comfort food worthy. I should want to come back for this, not just feel it was sufficient, of which neither was the case. read more

Had a reservation of 4 people at 8pm and had an amazing experience with the food. It was very tasty and met our expectations. Host/hostess and bartender were very nice but waiter truthfully destroyed our experience by chasing us down as we were leaving the restaurant by haggling for tip and guilt tripping for what we already left him. The worst tomato sauce in Boston. More like unseasoned paste. How can you not cook pasta ? The eggplant parm was served warm, with very litle cheese. Garlic bread was loaded with unmelted powdered cheese. Hard wood seats, very unconfortable. 50's music just didnt work. Never said this before, McDonalds would be better. read more

This was a pretty disappointing meal for us. I noticed some of the negative reviews and it seemed to be just about the service, so I decided to try it anyway because I care more about the food. Service was actually pretty decent with some minor hiccups. We ordered the garlic bread, carbonara and spicy rigatoni. The food came out lightning fast, probably the fastest we've been served a meal in a non-counter service restaurant in a long time. There's no way that the pasta is being cooked to order, it must be pre-cooked because it was just too fast in the way it was served (about 5 minutes within ordering). When served to us the carbonara was cold, the pancetta was as if it was pulled directly from the refrigerator and the pasta was barely lukewarm. Rarely do we send anything back, but it was just so cold. It took a little while to flag someone down to let them know. They fixed it quickly and sent out a new dish which was hot but pretty bland. The rigatoni was served somewhat hot, but the pasta that wasn't fully covered in sauce was on the cold side. Overall the dish could have used a little bit more flavor too. The garlic bread was my favorite, but my husband didn't care for it. Overall a disappointing experience for overpriced, pre-made, mediocre food. read more

Great lunch spot or casual dining. If you've eaten at Carbone and enjoyed it, you'll love this spinoff place. Appetizers to pasta (rigatoni carbonara, rotini genovese and just plain marinara). Luckily, the pasta was al dente, which is kinda rare to get in any Italian restaurant as most times (actually all the time) the pasta is overcooked. So that really shocked me since I go in knowing full well 99.999999% you never get al dente anywhere unless asked upon ordering. Really can't go wrong when in the mood for Italian cuisine. read more

We enjoyed the atmosphere, but when it came to the food, I agree with all of the comments about the pasta. It was probably the dinner I have ever paid for. I hate leaving one star but feel compelled to do so in hopes whatever leadership is responsible for this travesty takes note. I ran by this place earlier in my morning and thought it looked promising from the outside. I ended up meeting my wife post-work for dinner and suggested Parm. I'm just going to cut right to the chase... the food was about as bad as it can get. We ordered some things to share including, zucchini chips, "spicy broccoli", caprese salad, and the chicken parm. When asked if we should get the large or small caprese salad the server told us that the amount of mozzarella was the same, just with more tomatoes "which come from a bag". This was a good tip, because the small came with a pound of tomatoes. The Zucchini chips were sorta battered but not entirely and the dipping sauce was "off" so we didn't indulge. The Broccoli was literally about as basic-B as you can get. It was essentially frozen broccoli that had been steamed with some grated parmesan. Denny's could have done this better. The Chicken Parm, oy vey. It's the name of your restaurant, surely you could get this right. But alas, no. What boggles my mind is how anyone could possibly open a restaurant in Boston and put all of this effort into staff, menus, rent, overhead, and then think, "yeah this food is good enough". Like, the food was the last thing that anyone put thought into. Maybe this is why Boston's food scene sucks so bad--because places like this even exist. How hard would it be to get some fresh Broccoli Rabe and roast on a sheet pan with olive oil, finish with S&P, squeeze of lemon and grate some real parmesan?! Steamed frozen broccoli, really?! Honestly pretty solid Italian choice in Back Bay. The carbone was great. The Caesar salad was cheese with a side of lettuce, and the garlic bread was just fine. I also thought the pesto pasta was a little over cooked. Prices were also a bit expensive. But; honestly much more solid than Terra in Eataly, and if you get the carbone your meal is saved. The food is very good here and the atmosphere is modern Italian and bright inside. I think the famous Rigatone Carbone isn't all that special so instead get the fusilli bolognese with the delicious rocotta cheese on top. Also, start with the garlic bread because it's on bread with sesame seeds that is sooo good (you can also add cheese too it, but that's probably overkill). Also, the meatballs are some of the best I have ever had so make sure to start with those. Every non-pasta Entree comes with a side of marinara pasta which I wouldn't get excited for - it's boring so if you're in the mood for pasta make sure to get a designated pasta dish. As for drinks, you're better off getting wine than a cocktail (they're nothing special), especially because the wine pairs excellently with the pastas. I understand that they don't have pizza but I wish they did because I'm sure it would be amazing. read more

So I had read some of the PARM hype thinking I'd try it one day. Today was the day and I must say that I'm impressed with my first PARM order! I ordered using GrubHub and it was delivered MUCH quicker than the time shown as I submitted my purchase. Sweet and sour cauliflower was great. It had somewhat of a bite but that only enhanced the flavors! The star was the delicious good sized meatballs. I had the meatballs with a kid sized fusilli pasta. Please learn how to cook pasta. This is an absolute travesty. Italian grammas everywhere are rolling over in their graves. It's PASTA. If you cant cook pasta correctly at an Italian restauraunt... We have tried Parm a few times. The summer patio is nice and the pizza knots are fair. As other reviewers have said, the staples, like the pasta and the sauce are totally off. Ownership should come in unannounced to try it so that they can make the needed adjustments in the kitchen. read more
