Boyfriend and I were craving some Pizza on Monday night. I searched up some places, and landed upon Pasadena Pizza Co. The pictures of the pizza looked amazing! Called in for a phone order, and the gentlemen who answered the phone was so happy and peppy! I got us a large pizza with pepperoni and onions. It's located in the corner of the plaza..and it's a little hard to see if you're not really looking. We went 30 minutes before closing time, and it was of course pretty empty. They had the pizza ready for us, and it was a tad pricey. 19 bucks for the whole thang. We asked for some extra ranch..25 cents each. -____- and it was in a tiny cup. LAME. The pizza itself was..decent. Nothing amazing. It was definitely cheesy, and it did have flavor, but not a favorite. I would definitely choose this over those chain pizza restaurants, though. I came here with a few girlfriends to catch up a while ago and we had all been craving pizza so we decided to stop by the Pasadena Pizza Co. because a couple of us had been talking about coming to this place when we used to worked together. The guys at the register and in the back were so friendly and accommodating. We quickly got our pizza piping hot and enjoyed it but I really loved the calzone here, it was stuffed to the max. I was so excited to see 5 stars. First off, I grew up on great Chicago pizza. So yes my expectations on Cali pizza are usually low. That said this pizza was such a let down. A. Bland no flavors - sausage, pepperoni, cheese crust - zero flavor B. Pastrami bits not chunks like the picture shows - deceptive C. Ordered large to go. First impression "that's a medium size box". Does someone need eyeglasses. They need to get a ruler. D. Menu on wall has lower pricing than listed on flier. Take it down then! SHEESH! Cashier explains after the fact that their prices are higher and that they haven't had a chance to take down wall menu. Really! You guys would definitely lose in small claims court. E. I paid $30 for a large, really a medium pizza and a salad. Insane. I can buy 2 real large pizzas for that price at Pizza Port in San Diego. What's with all the 5 stars? Is this family rated? You Californians need to go to Chicago and eat real pizza so that you know something good when you eat it. If you grew up on Pizza Hut, then I understand. From the time you call your order in, until the time you either pick up your pie or get your pie delivered and eat - top notch. I truly believe each person that handles the your order enjoys their job, because it shows in the quality of their food and the service you receive. The order taker is vibrant and gets your order correct. If they have a deal-y-o going on, they will be sure to give it to you - try to ask if they have any specials going on when you call your order in. They can call out some of their specials (different ones if you pick up or if you choose delivery). When you get your food, it is hot, and fresh. So far, they have never messed up our order (even for my picky picky 1/2 this and 1/2 "easy on that") AND the prices are decent. Especially since we have a house that is a bit difficult to find and did I mention I am picky with the toppings? They have sauce that is not too sweet and not too salty. Excellent thick-crust pizza and very friendly service. I got a pepperoni and mushroom / black olive pizza, and the toppings, cheese, and sauce were nicely matched in quantity with the generous crust. Not too much, but enough to balance everything out. Also, it was baked quite well (sometimes the thick-crust pies aren't left in the oven long enough, in my experience). I'm typically a bit hesitant on take out pizza and he only place I like is Costco. One night we really just didn't want to cook and Costco was closed so we looked at what else was near us. Enter Pasadena Pizza Co. They conveniently had their menu online and we were able to quickly pick what we wanted and placed a phone order. 15 minutes later, we picked up our pizza. I think I devoured three slices. The crust wasn't too thick and had a nice crisp. There were a good amount of ingredients and lots of cheese. The day old pizza also wasn't bad, the cheese was just more gooey. I think I have found a take out pizza place that I like. read more

When this place popped up down the street from my house I was happy to see a family owned pizza place and knew anything would be better than the Dominos by me. (I have Dominos once a year due to convenience and then ask my wife to please never let me order it again!) So I tried Pasadena Pizza Co and I have to say it really exceeded my expectations. I don't know why I had low expectations but the people that work there were friendly, pizza crust was fresh tasting and toppings were generous. The sauce had great flavor too. When I have the hankering for pizza, or want to drown my sorrows in calorie-laden deliciousness, Pasadena Pizza Company never lets me down. My standard order is usually one or more of the following: the Company Special (sans green bell peppers), Pastrami, or the Meat Lover. The taste is superior each time. The consistency is amazing. The crust is soft - not too thin and not too thick and not at all cardboard. Their menu is filled with other delights to tickle your taste buds. I've ordered the Caesar and Antipasto salads, which admittedly aren't that great (just make a salad at home if you feel like you want to balance out the carbs with greens), but as this is a PIZZA place, it's an imperfection I am willing to overlook (it's kind of like ordering a burger at a place specializing in Indian food). Just concentrate on the good stuff. I can't speak for the speed of the delivery as I'm more of a pick up gal, but each time I do the staff are kind and happy and seem to really take their job seriously (I think this is a family owned place...not sure). TIPS: The place is located in a tiny shopping center with limited parking so I'd advise taking someone with you and have them jump out to pick up the pizza in case you run into this problem. Yum! This place has great pizza! I was working on a film shoot in the area and my buddy suggested getting lunch from Pasadena Pizza Company. Great recommendation! I shared a half ham and pineapple, half meat lovers pizza with our cameraman and ate more than I usually do (though I was quite hungry when we started eating) They make a great crust and the topping were really flavorful. Ordering was easy over the phone, but the girl had to put me on hold to figure out the total. Not just for a few seconds, but I was on hold for a little longer than it should have taken. I also walked in to a totally empty store when picking up the pizza and called out a few times before the guy came to put my order together which was done when I arrived. This review is for a pick-up order from May 20th. So admittedly, my hubby and I were on a lunch run and felt like some pizza, but deciding to try something other than our usual, we went to try Mamma's up in Pasadena, a place near our neighborhood that we drive by from time to time. A quick check here on Yelp convinced us to check it out, and we were there for about five seconds before the cold buffet-layout pizza and swarm of flies drove us out. We headed for a childhood favorite next, a place I always ate at after, but Tony's Pizza is closed on Mondays these days. Pasadena Pizza Co. was our third desperate attempt and, hell, they did save our day. We ordered ourselves a large with pepperoni and italian sausage and a meat calzone to go with it. Pretty easy order, since the menu is online, but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have stromboli (pretty redundant with the calzone, but I wanted one =P). I was also looking for a caprese, which they don't do, but that's no biggie; we were looking for something that would leave us with leftovers and what we got did the trick. As far as deep-dish goes, I really prefer a serious pie, greasy and garlic-y, baked in a deep iron dish. This is not that kind of pizza. It sure isn't what I'd call a New York pizza, and the fluffiness of the crust was sure satisfying enough for me. Fresh dough, tomato sauce, pepperoni and sausage; the only problem was I should have asked for extra cheese (I like em heavily-cheesed). The meat calzone seriously hit the spot, though, so I'd really like to see them do stromboli and even a caprese. This place definitely deserves repeat service when we're in the area next. It's not an artisan brick-oven pizzeria with exotic toppings and the candlelit red-and-white checkered tablecloth ambience to boot. And it sure as hell isn't Papa John's or Little Caesar's. To be honest, that's really the best middle-ground for us, it's no cookie-cutter pizza, but it's homey enough that your food is made fresh and that you get to know the folks there as well. My friend and I went in for the fest time tonight after a hike. The gentleman at the counter greeted us and told us about the specials for the day. Which were amazing! Ended up with an order of chicken strips, Cesar salad and a medium half pepperoni half veggie pizza. All throughout the cashier was friendly and extremely accommodating. This is my favorite delivery pizza in my area. They have a great west coast dough. If you're a New Yorker or Chicagoan, don't expect home. That's not a bad thing. It's fluffy, not too sweet, not too tough. Great crust. They have the right ratio of sauce to cheese, and they're not stingy on the toppings. I recommend the pepperoni and jalapeño. As a person who loves pizza and has had pizza nearly everywhere in CA (as my job forces me to travel daily) I can say this is my favorite pizza spot because it tastes the best!!! I only write reviews when I really LOVE THE FOOD - and this is coming from a really picky eater! With plenty of veggie options I always know I won't be disappointed. Depending on what I am in the mood I just let them know and they are really cool about making a pizza your way. I've rated this three stars but it should be 2.5 - perfectly mediocre. But the service, as others say, is friendly so I'll cough up the half star. I'm going to keep this brief: The pizza crust is poor. Flavorless and there is no 'chew' almost like a gluten-free crust, I'm not sure how they achieved this. Toppings are OK, sausage is better than the pepperoni. I think the positive reviews come from the fact that PCC is so close. I could see a college student with the munchies finding this totally awesome in the late hours. But Big Mama's is closer and probably similar quality. Love love love the pizza here! My family and I always order the pepperoni pizza with bacon bites and it is finger licking good. The pizza is non greasy and just delicious. We also like to order their chicken wings. They use REAL size chicken wings and they are seasoned to perfection. They do not cheat you from the wings, like some places using ting wings and overcook them to where there is no meat. We always have our meal delivered and it always arrives fresh and warm. I enjoy Pasadena Pizza Company because everyone is friendly here, but I find that their Pizza's here are very doughy. There crust is very fluffy and is literally almost like a small loaf of bread itself, however, it doesn't have a whole lot of flavor. With that being said, the pizza itself is tasty. It's always like that picturesque photo of someone pulling away a slice of steaming pizza and the cheese is going everywhere. *drool.* Last night, we got the Barbecue Chicken pizza. Opened it and it looked amazing. They drizzled BBQ sauce around the pizza and the presentation is just great. I really wished that it had tasted as great. THIS PIZZA IS DELICIOUS! All I've ever ordered from here are the $2 "by the slice" specials served from 11am - 4pm. I will usually get two or three. Let it be known that I used to drive to the Monrovia location for the same deal, so obviously I enjoy the pizza and think it's a bargain. As other Yelpers have mentioned, PPC uses a good combo of marinara sauce and cheese, and the bread is doughy and delicious. The slices are usually ready in less than five minutes, and never longer than ten, and the willpower it takes for me to NOT bust open the box and start digging in during my short drive home is immense. The slices are large, and for two bucks you really can't go wrong. Compare this to Z Pizza which I decided to try today for the first time: I paid over $6 and change after tax for two slices that were thinner and not as large. For that kinda money I could get a large carryout from Dominos, so I will stick to PPC for my "by the slice" needs, thank you very much... This place rocks! Their pizza is bomb!
