    Mmm! Quiches.

"When you're STRESSED, you eat ice cream, chocolate, and sweets. Why? Because stressed spelled backward is DESSERTS." --Anonymous On several occasions, my brother-in-law mentioned eating fabulous croissants and loaves of bread from one of his favorite nearby patisseries in Beverly Hills. At the same time, we explored some of my ethnic food bookmarks while balancing savory flavors with my sweet tooth. I had an authentic French boulangerie bookmarked in Culver City, which has gotten rave reviews for its Viennoiseries, where I had my eyes set on getting croissants and Kouign-Amann. However, since my brother-in-law's recommendation was only a 16-minute drive from home and I trust his gourmet palate, I didn't push too hard to drive out further. It was a cold and rainy morning when we drove out to Pascal on Beverly, and my brother-in-law suggested that I bring out my "Parking 'aumākua" as parking on South Beverly Drive is unpredictable. Luckily, we snagged street parking at the corner of Charleville Boulevard and South Beverly Drive. We quickly jogged into the fragrant and warm bakery and got in line along the display cases. I followed my brother-in-law like he was the Pied Piper and selected the luscious Viennoiseries while considering that we were getting enough for four people. While standing in line, my eyes danced at the sight of the Böreks (Bourekas) and quiches but popped while looking at the beautiful dough lamination (layers) of the Palmiers. I looked ahead and saw the croissants (plain and almond), pain au chocolat, and pastry "snails." I had to control my drooling after making the selections and shoved my way to the cashier before my brother-in-law conked me on the head, saying it was his treat. Hahaha. Lucky for us, we were near home, and I brewed a pot of coffee before tearing into the buttery and tender layered croissants. All of the viennoiseries (plain, pistachio and almond croissants, pain au chocolat, and "escargot") that we got that day were, in my opinion, as authentically layered or structured and flavored as at Paris, France's famous boulangeries, Laurent Duchêne or La Maison d'Isabelle. I can't wait to return to try Pascal's Cafe menu, which features breakfasts, salads, sandwiches (made with their in-house breads), and paninis.

Turkey & Cheese Sandwich w side salad (To Go) -- fresh and so tasty!

I've been here a few times and have always had a great experience. The baked goods and pastries are the star of the show here, but recently also tried the turkey sandwich and thought it was great too. The baguette is delicious and all the ingredients are super fresh, including the little side salad. The almond and chocolate croissant is my favorite pastry here, as well as the baguettes, and most of the sweets -- never had a bad pastry here. This place gets a bit busy for lunch, but service is always pretty good, you just might need to remind them to grab your Diet Coke, etc. No big deal, they always grab it with a smile. Ambiance is relaxed with outdoor and indoor seating, and though parking may be tough on South Beverly I always seem to score a decent spot on Charleville. This spot is a staple in Beverly Hills, and I always look forward to my visits here.

Had a blueberry muffin and a chocolate chip cookie under $10. Three something for the cookie and it was huge. I would definitely come back just for that.

04/14/2023 It's a nice quiet morning after a little rain, the sidewalks are clean. Entrance to Pascal looks inviting with outdoor patio seating in the front. A few tables with people enjoying not only conversations but their pastries with their coffee. One person waiting for his order and another person ordering a variety of pastries to fill a white box. All I want are two or three. Waiting for this lady to finish her order, I can still keep looking to pick out a few good ones I really want to try. The pear danish has custard underneath while the almond croissant has layers you know was filled with butter. The outside of each has this crispy crunchy thing going on with each bite. Flakey at the same time. A sip of your coffee would just wash away the delicious taste in your mouth so you hold out for a little longer.

The smoked salmon bagel was delicious, and the cappuccino was rich and satisfying. With a variety of baked goods and a great menu overall, plus incredibly welcoming baristas, I'll definitely be returning!

Small French bakery with food for breakfast and lunch Baguettes, pastries and deserts available I had to go order avocado toast with egg , unfortunately unreasonably overpriced They have outdoor seating and indoor None of the staff was smiling and welcoming. No music, that makes uncomfortable waiting time and it's too quiet

    Farmer's breakfast sandwich with potatoes

I'm not sure what to say other than it was a perfect sandwich. All of the ingredients were fresh, the flavors popped, all worked well together, the bread never got soggy, and the potatoes had such a nice spice on them. It was also a big portion that left me full the rest of the day. All good.

Very cute ambiance with outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you to our busser who cleaned the tables for us without us asking! He was also friendly with asking if we needed anything else. Food is great price for the portions. The bread is amazing and my salad was great. My friend got the egg salad sandwich with a salad and loved it. Will be back!

    Tasteless watery shakshuka. Horrible
    Tiffany N.

Really a very bad experience and waste of money. The food was absolutely tasteless and watered down. The avocado toast was so basic and had no effort put into making it. The service is beyond horrible. When I asked for my latte to be remade, because it was made wrong, the server rolled his eyes and gave me attitude. There is so many better places on the same street that you can go and spend your money on. Food is horrible, the service is bad, and the place has no ambience.

Came in here for a quick treat and coffee - the ambiance is great - lots of natural light, bustling but not overcrowded, great views of Beverly Blvd for people watching and they have indoor/outdoor options. I ordered a small Mocha and apple tart - a bit disappointed they were out of the banana creme. There's no adequate menu affixed on any walls or chalkboards or any signage for that matter - to see the full menu, you have to pick up one of the clearly used to-go trifold menus. It's a little confusing and that would be my biggest recommendation to them. For example, I only ordered an Apple Tart and mocha - not knowing there were actually many other choices available. The apple tart was okay - soft and bits of salty sweetness here and there. I would have preferred a bit more time in the oven. Anyways, quick review, would come back for the great location and try other menu items.

I substituted the steak Chipotle panini for chicken and got a chocolate muffin. Absolutely delicious!!!! Worth me breaking my diet for. Amazing service which is essential any time you are out. Calm and beautiful location for indoor or outdoor. Must try!

Marinated medium flank steak & eggs. Properly cooked & tasty.

Our server was extremely polite and the entire design of the restaurant is really beautifully done and is the sort of place where you would want to spend a lot of time. It's quite large on the inside with a full bar and many different seating areas and an outdoor seating area as well. It is very classy and is a great place for a date or dinner with friends. I started off with a Beef Tartare and thought it was fantastic. It had a lot of mustard flavor to it, which is a personal preference of mine and every bit about it was just very nice. I was in Las Vegas the week prior and tried a few French restaurants out there and this was one of the better versions I've had recently. For my entrée I chose the Wild Seabass and that too was fantastic. It was cooked perfectly, had a great crisp to it, and every bit about it was delicious. We ended with dinner with the Roasted Banana Triffle and that too was amazing. It was sweet, but not overly so and was a great end to the meal. I would strongly suggest this place to anyone.

It took approximately 30 minutes for it to arrive even though the restaurant and bar were not busy. The drink had fine crushed ice in it, which definitely isn't "classic" and it was watered down considerably when it was served. I ordered a classic Manhattan and selected my preferred rye. When it was served, it was frothy. Was it blended? Who would do that? It was also icy as if it had been blended with ice? As with the martini, it was watered down. The food was very good. My guest ordered bouillabaisse and she said it was excellent. I ordered lamb. It was very good. The service was friendly but slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The disappointing cocktails and slow service seriously detracted from our experience.

The pricing is on the higher side but worth it given the taste! We had bone marrow which had a nice buttery flavor; the Beef bourguignon was tender and well flavored; and their house special Black cod (available only for one week) was so flavorful and cooked delicately that it melted in our mouths! It was the best fish we ever tasted and we didn't even know fish could taste like that!!! We also recommend the mango passionfruit lemonade. Not too sweet and tasted very fresh. We also thought it was one of the best and freshest lemonade we ever tasted! The sole ripped from the bottom and was hanging by a thread. As the valet went to get me duct tape, a woman from the front desk came out to me and strangely gave me a hard time for waiting for the valet? It was such a bizarre encounter. This same person brought my friend and I to the elevator to be brought up to the rooftop bar, and she was rude and stand off-ish (zero sense of humor around my whole talking shoe incident). That should've been my first sign that the service generally was going to be what missed the mark. When we got to the rooftop bar at the time of our reservation, no one was at the bar or the host stand. The view did not disappoint, so there was that! But the service was terrible; with only 4 tables occupied, it took a while for our order to be taken, and the food and cocktails were fine. I had the spicy tacos (fine), my friend the poke bowl (standard) and the beverages, watered down. We had the chocolate mousse dessert and it's the first dessert in my lifetime I couldn't finish - it was inedible. As we were wrapping out, it was very confusing when the waiter asked us to start a tab (we were about to leave) and then my friend had to ask to be closed out. TL;DR if you are a patient person who prefers views over service and settles for fine, overpriced food, then go to Poza for a sunset drink. Otherwise, I think there are better places in the neighborhood to enjoy a similar experience

Where do I even begin with the magic of this place?!…read more This has become one of my absolute favorite spots and every single time I go, I end up finding something new to obsess over. The Paris Roma sandwich is chef's kiss. The bread is the perfect mix of soft on the inside while still being beautifully toasted. The tomatoes and cheese taste incredibly fresh, and whatever magical spread they put on it... I need the recipe because WOW. This is a refreshing sandwich! The Sea-trus salad is another favorite. It somehow manages to be light, refreshing, and still filling. The lox and veggies are unbelievably fresh and everything just works together perfectly. Love the lightness of the dressing. This will not disappoint! If I'm in the mood for something a little heartier, I go for the tomato soup and half truffle grilled cheese. I LOVE this combo. The truffle flavor is spot on and not overpowering at all. Comfort food done right. Now for the best part... dessert (my personal weakness). The canelés are my obsession. I actually buy multiple little bags of the mini ones to have with my morning coffee. They remind me of the perfect cross between crème brûlée and French toast. Crispy outside, soft center, absolute perfection. The St. Honoré is a little pricier, but worth every penny and I usually order more than one. The cream is light with a subtle vanilla flavor and those little pastry puffs on top are pure magic. This is more of an elegant, delicate dessert rather than something rich and intense. And then... yesterday I tried a chocolate dessert for the first time and I wish I remembered the name because I have not stopped thinking about it. It was a chilled circular chocolate mousse covered in chocolate with hazelnut and it was honestly PERFECTION. I don't even know how to describe it properly. Rich, smooth, balanced... I had it with coffee and it was one of those desserts you immediately plan on ordering again before you've even finished it. This is more of a rich dessert! Beyond the food, the owner and staff are incredible. They are warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely make this place feel special. You can tell they care deeply about the experience, not just the food, and it shows in everything they do. The spritz was strong or my tolerance has gone way down. First course: I was pleasantly surprised by how big the Avacado toast was. It had a jam at the bottom that brought the whole dish together. Wow. Okay the pictures on instagram do not do this place justice. I rarely say that places look…read morebetter than their official page and marketing...but yeah. This place does. Like people said it was romantic and I was like sure, I guess in the pictures it kind of does. In person though??? Wow. Absolutely wow. I was in awe. I wish I could sit there every day. The lights and ambiance are truly insane. I have never experienced anything like it. Let me backtrack too and say that I paid $14 for valet which tbh is not too bad considering I didn't have to worry about my car or anything so it was worth it. Okay the food. We got Parker rolls and the Mezze plate for the table. Wow, the Parker rolls were as you would expect. Buttery goodness. French butter as you know...top tier. Okay the Mezze plate? Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. From start to finish, he was there for us when we needed him and we really enjoyed our dining experience because of him. I forgot his name but he's a star. I have already recommended this place to others because it really was so incredible. I am so happy I got to come here.

Goods: Very nice place. The decor is welcoming and…read moreresembles a European evening filtered with nicely dim lights throughout the patio. The place is hidden behind a quaint little door and I think it's a nice date spot. Areas of improvements: Unfortunately the location and style is the place's best asset. I came here to celebrate my gf's birthday and made a note on the reservation that I wanted a special greeting. However, none of the occurred. Not a single note or server or host made mention of that. I was disappointed and left feeling sad that a special night wasn't special at all. I think the little door used to be a special place but now it's become a money-grab. The service is medicine at best. The food is ok. I won't be back anymore. Very saddened about how downhill the place has gone in my experience.
