We had to wait 15 min. just to get a water refill from our server who didn't check in once our whole meal & then took a day to get the bill to the table. I was also underwhelmed by the repeated, conversation-interrupting ask by the other staff, "Can I get that plate for you?" which actually meant "Why don't you keep handing me every plate?"even if it wasn't necessary/in our way, or, hey, my job. We used the restaurant's catering service, and it was absolutely A+. The food was ready right on time, and everything was perfectly provided. The salad dressings, croutons, cheeses, etc. were all provided in proper amounts, and when I said that there was more food than I expected, they gave me "to go" containers, which we used. Well... hmm. This restaurant was recommended by our neighbor in Roseville. My wife and I have been looking for a good Italian place with outdoor seating, and this seemed like a promising option, even though it was a 30-minute drive. We enjoy taking chances, so we gave it a try. When we arrived, my wife needed to use the restroom, but the accessible stall had no toilet paper. We let the only staff member on duty know--she was managing the bar. Twenty minutes passed with no update, and when my wife checked again, the toilet paper had finally been restocked. A little communication would have gone a long way, and honestly, this first impression set the tone. We ordered our food, which took about 20 minutes to arrive. The pizza was undercooked on the bottom and only lukewarm. The spaghetti was cold. We told our server the spaghetti wasn't hot and the cheese wasn't melting. Her response? "Well, we always put the cheese on after the spaghetti is cooked." We explained that if the pasta were actually hot, the cheese would melt. She took it back, and when it returned, it was hot, and the cheese had finally melted. This should have been food quality one-on-one. When you're spending around $100 for lunch, you'd expect a certain level of quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, we didn't experience that here. Despite all this, my wife is still interested in trying their calamari. (I know... I know... why?!) The outdoor seating was genuinely nice, and maybe our neighbors had a better server ( that gave a crap) or a better night in the kitchen. So, we may give it one more try. Well, I would tell you that it was nice to see this restaurant open again the location downtown Auburn very nice. Walking into the restaurant very nicely done remodeled OK let's get to it. I brought my wife and two friends from out of town for lunch before they cut their plane back home unfortunately with one waitress at a lunch hour is difficult for the waitress and for guests. We waited quite a long time for service and once was service provided we waited another period of time. Let's say an hour not good. I ordered the Sicilian seafood plate. It was probably the most bland I've ever eaten and I've been to some real nice restaurants the simple things that we're not added fresh garlic, no garlic, fresh parsley no parsley at least a half a lemon squeezed no lemon, seafood and pasta crave those items. Unfortunately mine did not so I give it a zero my guest that was with me ordered the roast beef sandwich and it was huge. She said it was delicious so we'll look at the positive points, the cannoli dessert I had was excellent so when a new restaurant opens like this, they are having growing pains, which is understandable. They have a lot of pasta dishes if you're going to make those types of pasta dishes, make it for yourself test it and eat it see what it needs put some heart and soul into it and you will have a successful business. read more

Both were excellent and reasonably priced. We split, but portions were very generous. Couldn't decide on wine so were allowed some tastings and chose two Italian red varietals which were quite good. Cons: The food is pretty expensive but you get big portions as in two meals from one dish. Our order took a while (the reason I'm only leaving 4 stars). I like this Italian restaurant a lot. We got lucky to get our table at walk-in during dinner time. This place is popular and totally packed and I can understand why. Super excited to try on the three most popular dishes. The fried cheese ravioli, the egg parmigiana, and the lasagna are the must have! The dishes were served hot which made our dinner taste so much better. I can tell the chefs cook our meals with joy and love as every thing was delicious and tasty. The ambiance was amazing. I ordered the Limon Alfredo with scallops, I was charged $20 for the fettuccine and an extra $18 for a total of 3 scallops! I had the Mushroom Ravioli with Creamy Pesto sauce. Perfect. It was not acidic in any way. Perfect blend of pesto and cream (Alfredo) sauce. Raviolis were not mushy or too al denti, it was perfect. Mushrooms were fresh. I thought I'd have to bring some home but kept graze eating, even if I was full. My husband and daughter had the chicken parmigiana. He really enjoyed it also. Chicken was perfect, not dry. My son-in-law, who is Italian, really enjoyed his creamy pesto fettuccine with Italian sausages. My grandkids had a simple cheese pizza and they loved it. They have indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for outdoor, and the weather was perfect. The kids were a little restless, and so it helped that we were outdoors. We came in on Father's Day and though we were seated right away...we waited maybe 15 minutes and no one had come by to take our order. We had a baby with us who started to get fussy so we decided to get our food to go. We ordered and paid for a carbonara, full size garlic bread (6 pieces), Caesar salad with salmon (because they were out of chicken), and a large Caesar salad. The order came out quick. When we got home and opened our order...no salmon on the salad, barely any ham in the carbonara and 2 pieces of garlic bread. Our initial waitress did come around while we were waiting to apologize for the wait time which was thoughtful. However, the phone line was cut when I tried to call for a refund. First time visit on a sunny Saturday around 11:00. Pros: - Service was good. Forgot her name, but she took care of some flat sodas and offered to make better the food issues (see below). I would say 4 stars for service. - Outdoor seating is pretty good, but some unavoidable street noise is present and the music should probably be more classic Italian instead of 70's mellow rock. Cons: - The food. Wife's antipasto salad was huge but mostly just lettuce, with hardly any meat or cheese or any of the "good stuff". Big let-down. My sausage sandwich was not good. It had very little flavor. The sausage, the sauce... just not good. I ate less than half. The server did remove it from the bill which was appreciated, and she offered a meatball sandwich to replace it, but I passed. So we both ended up leaving still hungry. Verdict: - Disappointed. Ok, I was so excited after reading the reviews of this place and checking out their menu but my husband and I walked away going "meh.... Just not that good!" I will say the appetizers were good - bruschetta and caprese salad got us very excited for the entrees. Fresh, flavorful and delicious. The entrees were the most bland, mediocre nonsense I've ever had an Italian restaurant. The Chicken Parmesan tasted like a chicken strip fried in dirty oil covered in cheese. I got the pesto sauce on my noodles and honestly pesto is one of my favorite foods and I find it hard to mess up. It was SO bland! It needed that basil, lemon, pinenut flavor that just makes basil fabulous. My husband got their Halibut special which was also incredible bland and boring. The atmosphere would have been really sweet if it weren't for the large tv with a fake fire place. Screens make any restaurant WAY less cozy and quaint, in my opinion. Nice place in old Auburn tiny neighborhood, difficult to park so you need to be patient. The decor is rustic and warm and rather pretty, there are some excellent Italian wine bottles in large format here and there giving the impression that someone here has some knowledge of famous producers ( Biondi Santi, Antinori, ...) The menu is exactly what you find in an Italian restaurant in the USA, no surprise. The room was full of guests, we seated at the bar, many potentiels guests keep arriving during the entire time we were there, giving a good impression on what quality we could expect. The owner was serving the tables very energicaly, and I noticed immediately the natural charisma and authority that emanated from her presence. She was very welcoming and so was the other staff member. I was surprised to see that only two persons were on staff for this very busy saturday lunch, so inevitably and unfortunately something did not go smoothly. The very good looking dishes accumulated on the distribution table and were not dispatched to the customers table, instead, the owner focused on welcoming more customers and the second staff member continued her very slow moving pace like if there were no urgency. We received our starter eventually, the calamari friti, and there were very good, the two sauces were very tasty and we could tell the deep frying oil was fresh and clean. We were not in a hurry so we did not mind that it took a while for our main dish, a pizza and the clam spaghetti to show up. However, as we were seated in front of the distribution table, we could witness that these dishes were delivered by the kitchen around 20 minutes before we received them. I refused to eat the pasta as they were totally cold and possibly unsafe at that point, the pizza was dead cold but we did not mind as much for that specific dish and by that time we were hungry. The pizza was delicious, the thin crust was crispy, more like a real Napoli pizza than the American version. Later when we finished the pizza arrived some garlic bread we did not touch as we were done. But everything I had plenty of time to see passing by looked really good. I am going to give it soon another try, perhaps it was just an unfortunate busy day with not enough staff... However, I reviewed here several comments that seems to indicate that this issue is recurrent...Laura, you have a great base here, a potential gem, now , with your long experience, you ought to reorganize the priorities: the food produced by the kitchen need to be immediately dispatched, for sanitary reason and of course reputation, I would be sad to see that an FDA inspection give you a negative note. We ate on the outside patio following the Auburn "No Kings" rally and protest. Although the food was OK, the behavior of the management was atrocious and disgusting. Pro-Trump music was intentionally increased to a point that diners were unable to hear each other. Folks who had been to the rally were forced to hide their signs in the back of the restaurant. Apparently, the intolerant management has decided that this otherwise good Italian restaurant should become a pro-Trump, in-your-face establishment that caters only to those that have the same political sentiments. My husband and I were finally able to stop in and try Pasquale's for an evening out. We shared some Crab Cakes as an appetizer. We got 5 tiny smashed balls a little bigger than a quarter. Definitely overcooked, despite that, the flavor was still OK. With each crab cake being smaller than a bite, it was over before it started. We shared a small antipasta salad, which my husband liked, I felt there was too much iceberg. We shared a Chicken Parmesan. My husband complained that he felt the chicken Parmesan was too salty. I think rather the chicken fillet was so very thin that the crust on the chicken overtook the flavor of the dish. The marinara sauce was good and had a nice flavor. The service and atmosphere were nice. There are only a few booths and they were all reserved. The drinks we ordered were very good and probably the highlight of the outing. I got the lavender lemon drop, and my husband ordered a Long Island iced tea. The glasses we appropriate in size and I could actually taste the lavender in my drink.
