It's always a good day when a new quick Thai restaurant opens. Grand opening is Friday May 24th. Soft opening May 21-23 from 11am-1pm. You can either eat in/carry out. Portion sizing for lunch is perfect, didn't feel too full or have leftovers. I had the Kapow Chicken (very spicy!!) served with rice to help calm the fire inside your mouth. Also had the Potstickers, which are lightly fried and have a delicious dipping sauce. The Pad Thai was spot on, good flavor. Lunch serving runs just under $10 per person, and dinner is just under $12 a head. Service is very fast, under 10 minutes even when busy. They have a fairly small menu (my fav) because no one likes a jack of all trades, master of none. Staff are very friendly, and I can see this as a staple of Purcellville's international food options. Ahem. This is the best Thai spot in town. The other one is a very close second. Very close. This town is lucky to have two bomb Thai places. Disappointing with all the good reviews. Ordered a bunch of food, I thought but this was not the case. The entrees are lunch portions or even less. Forget the appetizers, the dumplings are chewy, seems they fry ahead and re- steam. The shrimp was nothing like the picture. The drunken noodle was good but not enough to share. We have eaten here twice now and are big fans. Collectively we've eaten the pad thai, drunken noodle, green curry and Panang curry. The flavor is fantastic. The panang is probably my favorite but all four have been really good. You get really good size portions for $8-9 entrees. This will be a regular weeknight dinner whether we eat in or carry out. Grand opening yesterday for Patama Thai Kitchen in Purcellville so I had to give it a try.. The price was fantastic, the food was amazing and when I got to the restaurant my order was ready. The only thing I would do next time is ask for it to be less spicy. I love spicy food but when it over powers the flavor then it is too spicy for me. Joining the very excellent Finn Thai, is Patama. More of a take out focussed spot, although there is seating inside, it is certainly more casual than its cousin across Main Street. The menu is short, but based on our experience, very tasty. A good addition to our dining scene. read more

Overall for a new place not bad! Quick service, food ready ahead of time given, and a mixed review on taste. Restaraunt set up is like a fast food Thai. Hot bar counter with a griddle behind it. Pleasant service. Confused about lunch portion/dinner portion. Saw 2 versions of menu. When I called in my order I was not asked lunch or dinner size AND flyer on door only had what I'd consider LUNCH size portion. So its an okay amount if you're not super hungry. The FOOD... I had Beef Kapow with Basil, great flavor but no vegetable whatsoever unless you count spicy peppers. My wife's Pad Thai "most bland and boring" shes ever had. No chicken satay which my son eats as a meal. We'll try it again, the price point is waaayy better than the place across the street. Just no more pad thai. read more

My sister, and I were in Purcellville, and looking for a place for lunch, and came across this place. What a wonderful discovery. The place is small, but it does have several tables if you want to eat there. We were warmly greeted by the woman behind the counter. It's a place where you order at the counter, and then they bring the food to your table. We picked the spring rolls and the pork dumplings as appetizers. We got the drunken noodles and the pad prik king as our entrées. You get a choice of protein, so we chose chicken for the drunken noodles and pork for the other dish. She brought the appetizers to our table first, and they were incredible. The spring rolls are obviously made in house. The dumplings were so delicious, my sister skipped the dipping sauce. The drunken noodles were some of the best I've ever had, period. The pad prik king was also very good, but I have to say the drunken noodles were my favorite. The two of us switched our plates back-and-forth multiple times. Everything was incredibly fresh. The drunken noodles had these wonderful, fresh hot chilies, so when they say spicy, they mean it. As I said, the place is small, and it looks like it's geared for a takeout rather than dine in place, and the food is served in disposable bowls. No Styrofoam, which made me very happy. I highly recommend this place. The service was friendly, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and I will definitely return here the next time I'm in Purcellville. I guess the only thing I can say in the negative is no beer available. A nice Thai beer would have been great . read more

This is as close as you will get to Thai street food without actually going to Thailand. Dishes are made fresh, generally while you watch, and are of exceptional quality and accuracy to the source. Spice levels can be adjusted by asking for mild or none, but be warned, the default medium spice level is scaled for actual Thai people's tastes so be prepared for it to be a LOT hotter than a lot of other Thai restaurants in the area. Unless you are accustomed to that level of spice, you are well advised to order one level lower than you usually order to determine whether you can take it or not - I normally order spicy or extra spicy at other Thai restaurants; the medium here makes me sweat. The menu is varied, and pretty comprehensive, and if you know the Thai name for a favorite, they'll try to make it if they have the ingredients and it's not super busy. Portions are large, so you will have leftovers if you're not super hungry; I usually get two good meals from one entree. Drawbacks: The restaurant space is small, and there are a limited number of very small tables, so if you have a group, you probably should plan on taking the food home and eating it there. It's also somewhat difficult to find the location (it's well hidden next to the Subway and not visible from business rt 7; if you turn left at the Mcdonald's and go into the parking lot of the building on the right, that's where you'll find it. Positives: their takeaway containers for everything except soups and curries are completely recyclable (paper or fiber containers, paper straws, etc). Still plastic silverware and plastic tubs for soup/curry, but I guess that's unavoidable, and the containers hold heat well if you need to get stuff home to eat. They do takeout and pickup and will deliver in a limited area, and will do catering on request. They do have an online ordering feature on their website, but I was unable to test it fully because the payment option does not work reliably on mobile devices. I informed them of the problem and I suspect that has been fixed, but YMMV. Pricing for an average meal is around $10/person. The owners owned street food carts in Thailand, so they have experience in good Asian fast foods. The owners are the cooks, and they're native Thai, so they know what it's supposed to taste like and love to talk about the food. Things worth trying: massaman chicken curry, chicken kra pow (hot!!), garden rolls, tom ka gai (lemongrass soup), chicken wonton (the chili sauce is especially good, as is the peanut sauce). Thai ice tea is homemade and *very* strong, it's a good midday pick-me-up if you need a boost but don't order it if you're planning on sleeping soon. Overall: this is a great addition to Purcellville's food options. We drive in from Winchester (a good 30 miles) because it's that good. read more

This is more of a to-go place but they had such quick service and the food was spot on. I had the chicken pad Thai and it had a good flavor. No complaints! This pad Thai wasn't the best I've ever had so don't expect to be blown away. However, it had a solid and yummy pad Thai flavor, generous portion size, super quick service (took about 8-10 mins from when I called) and decent price. It was $8.50 not including tax. I would definitely come back again. Finn thai is too expensive and this is a waaaaay better option for pville! read more

Easy online ordering while we were in town shopping and was ready in 20 mins. Got the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and enjoyed that and the Massamun Curry Chicken, which was good but the potato pieces were very large, the chicken was a little dry and the amount of white rice wasn't enough to go with the curry topping. read more

Delicious authentic Thai food. Very casual small place with only a few tables. It looked clean but we ordered our food to go so we just picked it up. We ordered Pad Prirk King $12.95 (plenty of rice underneath just wished there was a bigger portion of the entree on top), chicken pad thai $10.95 and veggies & tofu pad see ew (extra $2 charge which I was not advised of when I placed the phone order) $12.95. Everything tasted great, fresh and piping hot. They don't offer lunch prices on Sundays, only dinner prices all day! Didn't know until I paid just over $40 when I got there to pick up our food for lunch. read more

Though they have minimum indoor dining space, but this is really a good place for take out. The service was fast and people were friendly. The food quality is very good but they have a limited menu. This place was a phenomenal find. My fiancee and I have come here five times in the last two months, and it's never disappointed. Larb Gai was good, but the Panang Chicken was woeful. It had (1) pepper slice, no visible basil or kaffir lime leaves. It was just chicken, curry, and coconut milk. If you don't have the right ingredients let me know when I'm ordering. Disappointing.... read more

We're really loving this place and have eaten here multiple times now. Their menu has gotten larger since our first visit shortly after they opened. There are specials and an delicious refreshing mango coconut sticky rice dessert. You might think they only have chicken dishes as most of the listed dishes on the menu specify it, but if you go to the end of the menu you see that you can get beef, pork, mixed vegetables or tofu too. There are also a few dishes that include shrimp. The service is quick and friendly. This has become a favorite place for us, both for eat-in and take out. read more

My concerns about gluten and other information were answered pleasantly via two phone calls prior to my daughter going in (later) to order. We're often reluctant to eat out/take out food because of dietary and budget restrictions...so we're extra pleased that we tried Patama.
