I will never go here again…read more I placed a takeout order and my husband picked it up. The restaurant gave him the wrong order and we did not realize it until he got home. To make matters worse, they charged us for that order instead of the one I had actually placed, which ended up being almost double the cost. When I called to explain what happened, communication was a major issue from the start. Instead of helping resolve the mistake, the woman I spoke with immediately blamed my husband for taking the order that was handed to him from behind the counter. I explained that I was not asking for a full refund, only for the charge to be adjusted to match the order I had originally placed. The conversation then got even more weird. She asked why I had sent my husband to pick up the food instead of going myself and told me, "That's how it works in the States." I was shocked by the comment. I was home taking care of sick kids, why does it matter who picked it up?She also told me that if I did not drive the 10 miles back to the restaurant, I would not receive any adjustment. When I tried to explain the situation again, she hung up on me. I understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. Being given the wrong order was frustrating, but being blamed for it, spoken to disrespectfully, and then hung up on was far worse. This was one of the rudest customer service experiences I have ever had.

The calamari was lightly breaded with a delicate yet crunchy texture and their house sauce is flavor, a blend of sweet and savory that's unique. The combination of fresh ingredients in the nau nam tak rolls and the beautiful presentation is always a family favorite. The hot beef with the cold vegetables combined with the sauce is a must try. We each ordered our favorite dishes. The Tom Kha soup is truly the best I've ever had and I eat this soups about 3-4 times a year as I travel around the US. Theirs is always perfectly seasoned, the vegetables and meat are fresh, then cut into the perfect size unlike other places where it's too large or too small. I decided to try the Sweet Daughter Thai fried rice instead of the usual basil fried rice and I definitely found a new favorite. The portions are generous without being wasteful. The shrimp and chicken were fresh and plentiful. I love that their veggies always have the perfect sear on them- every time and every dish. The pineapple was subtle but added a great flavor profile with the sweet and acidic tastes blending well into the vegetables. The pho noodle soup is one of my wife's favorites and it didn't disappoint. The crispy duck also hit a home run with my son. Pad Thai shrimp was perfect as always. The dining room is quaint and always meticulously cleaned. I love their serving plates and soups cups- amazing charm that completes the overall vibe. You feel like you're eating in a favorite aunt's kitchen. The owner and the young girl (I think it's her daughter) were amazing with the service. In the hour we were there they never stopped coming by to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. Quick with smiles and they took got our order right the first time like always. In the end we spent about $40 per person but that included appetizers for all and shrimp upgrades for protein. We just ate at the neighboring 1836 Taproom a week ago and paid far more for garbage food with mediocre service. Daughter Thai will be getting all of our business from now on when eating dinner in Lovettsville. They are truly the best food in town with a wonderful family, great atmosphere and consistently amazing food at good prices. We are truly lucky to have this place in our town!!
