Hello OKC! This was our first date night as newbies in Oklahoma City and what a great restaurant we found! I called Saturday afternoon in hopes of making a reservation for a late dinner. The host was so very helpful and accommodating on the phone. We booked a table for two at 8pm. Upon arrival we were most kindly greeted. The host showed us right to our table. Our waitress was a complete gem! She welcomed us to OKC and shared all about the menu. We decided to start dinner with a bottle of Prosecco. Because why not?! I truly recommend the Borgoluce as it was delicate and deliciously dry! The more bubbles the better! For appetizer my partner ordered a cup of the Italian wedding soup( it was INCREDIBLE) and I had the mixed green salad. Per cena: we both were craving spaghetti and the bolognese hit the spot!! The restaurant was clean and the service good but the food was mediocre. This is not at all an Italian restaurant, it's not near too. The food was filled with oil and inappropriate spices. The price unjustified for the quality. I am Italian, born and raised and l felt offended they will consider this place an Italian restaurant. Had to sit at the bar because there was a violinist performing nearby. We were the youngest couple there! Warm olives was interesting, tasty. We had the salmon special for $45, some cocktails and wine, and split a pear cheesecake which was good. It wasn't cheap, that's for sure. read more

What a treat we found here, thanks to Yelp! A weekend trip found us needing to overnight in OKC. We decided to make a run through the art museum and find dinner nearby. It was early, so thankfully we were able to find 2 seats at the bar. It's a small restaurant for sure, so I'm guessing reservations are advised. It was a top-notch experience from greeting, ambience, service by the bar staff, wine by the glass, specials, and food. We stuck to a couple of the normal pasta dishes - the carbonara and short rib ragu - and shared a slice of cheesecake. Perfect execution of everything. In a world of big plates of very mediocre Americanized "Italian" food, Patrono is an oasis. I highly recommend it. read more

Heard amazing things about this place, so decided to celebrate my birthday here with my husband. Had reservations for 7pm which included the special occasion. The table was in what was clearly a walkway - we were shoved in there in a high traffic area. Lots of fish aroma and noise coming from kitchen, waiters congregated chatting and in and out. Not the romantic Italian bistro experience we thought we were getting. Service was okay, but pretty slow. Birthday never acknowledged, not that we need a dessert or a song, but even asking if there was a celebration would have been nice. (ESP since it was on the reservation.) Food was over hyped. My husband's pork chop was dry. Pasta was good but very spicy with no other flavor. Overly expensive for what it is, and completely empty by 8pm on a Saturday. I have wanted to try this place, and after visiting it this week, I have to say that the food wasn't memorable. However, the complimentary bread for the table was great to compare to other Italian restaurants. The bread comes with an herb and olive oil and butter with a balsamic reduction spread. We started with the tomato bisque, and it was terrific. However, the main entree I got, a spinach pasta and asiago cream sauce, was quite bland even after mixing the sauce and pasta. It was creamy but had no other flavors. It wasn't until the pasta had been sitting out for a bit that I finally tasted some garlic. I also added some shrimps and was shocked to know that 5 pieces of shrimp cost $12. The cocktail that I had called Hibiscus Disco was herbal and refreshing. Weeelllll let me tell you about this FANTASTIC surprise of a find. We needed to find something in the area with gluten free options and this jewel of a restaurant popped up. It's nice and we weren't really dressed nicely but that didn't matter. The bartender and our waitress were so kind and helpful as I asked my list of gluten free and allergen questions. The GF food is prepared in a separate space and is truly GF. WOWZA!!! You aren't going to believe my next sentence....They brought out GF bread. This was my first out of body experience! I haven't ever had a restaurant in my beloved state of Oklahoma bring out true GF bread, just like they do for the real people!!! I wanted to hug the waitress but had already been awkward with my list of questions. That alone made my day. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Amatriciana. They aren't exaggerating, itsa spicy! It's also delicious. I forgot what the proper name of the pork pieces in the dish are called but they taste like little crunchy bacon balls. Totally tasty. The group I ate with were all impressed with their full of gluten meals. We talked about the food the whole way home. This place is definitely now in my top 5 in OK. read more

We fondly remember Patrono and truly had one of our best meals here. We made a reservation for Thursday during the Arts Festival. All of the employees here could not be any friendlier or accommodating. We started with the warm olives (must order these on every visit) and then we had the escarole salad and the mixed green salad. I highly recommend the escarole---almost a meal in itself. Truly amazing with the fresh burata! Fresh bread came with the balsamic butter. Genius touch! I ordered the Bucatini Carbonara (bucatini pasta, guanciale, fresh peas, crushed red pepper, egg yolk, parmigiano-reggiano). I took a photo for its perfect egg yolk. Alas, it was a blurry mess. Pasta was delicious. The Hubs ordered the spicy sausage spaghetti. We also had a bottle of wine (reasonably priced, I might say). Everything was perfect. We will return!!!! Our last meal together with my daughter and her husband was eaten here. It was one of the best dining experiences and definitely some of the best Italian food ever! We had been out roaming Oklahoma City, the Myriad Botanical Gardens & the Crystal Bridge Conservatory. We were hungry and settled upon Italian. My husband found this nearby using Yelp, so we thought we'd give it a shot. We parked on the street at a meter. Walked right in and were seated. This is a pretty cozy place, kind of tight quarters. We were in the corner booth, so it was alright. Our server was the best! He checked up on us often, made a few good recommendations and chatted with us. First things first, that bread!! It is served fresh & warm with the best balsamic butter and pesto dip! It is also complimentary which made it even better! The best part is that our server kept bringing us more bread! We, well, mainly our daughter, was in heaven and ate a lot of it! We tried the Risotto, Shrimp & Asparagus - I guess it was asparagus shavings because there weren't any whole asparagus visible. I liked the creamy risotto and tasty shrimp! We got the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes - I should have written this review sooner because I can't recall how our son-in-law liked the crab cake. He's from Maryland and is very picky about his crab. On the other hand, I am not as picky and liked it a lot! It had nice chunks of jumbo lump crab! For our Entrees, we ordered the Spaghetti and the Carbonara. I didn't try the Spaghetti. My husband and I shared the Carbonara and it was scrumptious! I loved the peas & the pancetta and that egg on top makes the dish even more perfect! My daughter had the Pan Seared Diver Scallops. I had a bite and it was cooked & seasoned just right. My son-in-law had a large bone-in steak, which he devoured. It was juicy and done nicely! I can't believe we had room for dessert, but we did! We had Cappuccinos to go with our desserts. The Panna Cotta was divine! It was the best of the three desserts we got. The other two items were the Chocolate Torte and the Almond Cake. The Chocolate Torte was super rich and really needed that Vanilla Bean Ice Cream! The Almond Cake was kind of just okay... those cherries that come with it are pretty strong in flavor. Glad we had those brought on the side! I hope my daughter and son-in-law won't wait for us before they come back here! I would definitely dine here again! My first visit to Patrono was as a solo dinner while visiting from out of town. Not only is this the most cozy, intimate, and romantic restaurant I've been to in years, the service and food topped the charts. I was surprised with how well the octopus was cooked especially being in the central US. It was phenomenally tender and the flavor was very hearty A+ My server, Grant was attentive, patient, and had some stellar recommendations when solicited. He even helped me choose a wine to pair with my dinner by bringing out two samples to taste. I couldn't have been happier with his suggestions. I opted to order the bottle since they could cork and bag it so that I can take it with me. Although I was the last table in the restaurant, I never felt rushed or inconvenient. We were downtown a few months ago for another event, which was cancelled so we decided to stay and eat since we don't get down there too often anymore. I had just talked to a business associate earlier in the week who is from another state. He was complaining about OK restaurants, but recommended Patrono. He raved about the chef and how it was the most authentic Italian he had here. We decided to "pop in" and see if we could get a table (on a Friday night no less). The hostess asked if we had a reservation, and I told her no. She said that they typically only take reservations but asked us to hold on for a minute. She came back over soon after and said she could get us in at the bar, which worked great for the two of us. Let me just say, the experience did not disappoint. From the bartenders to the wait staff, everything was exceptional. I can't remember the drinks we had, but they were delicious. Both of the bartenders were great at their jobs, outgoing, and professional. Lastly, were our entrees. The carbonara was recommended, so that's what I ordered. My wife got the spaghetti and could tell the difference between theirs and another, popular Italian place up north. I was thoroughly enjoying my meal, when the bartender looked at it and said, "Oh no. That's not the carbonara." It was so good I didn't even notice! I told him it was fine, but he insisted on actually bringing the carbonara out. He packed it in a to go box, but made sure I tried it while it was hot and fresh. It too was exceptional! Needless to say, we had a great experience and will be back. This time I'll try actually making a reservation. read more

I had such a wonderful evening at Patrono thanks to Seth and Robert! Both men are so kind and pleasant to talk to! They are knowledgeable about the menu and make great recommendations! The bread is incredible. This restaurant has the BEST bread service I've ever seen. Pro tip: mix the balsamic butter and the herb spread on the same bite!! I ordered the puttanesca without olives or shrimp. The crab meat they use is so high quality. My pasta had HUGE lumps of crab meat throughout! The dish had a good level of spice and was so full of flavor! Traditionally puttanesca has anchovies in it, but the chef opted for bonito flakes which are smoked, dried flakes of skipjack tuna. They wriggle around when it's served to you because the flakes are melting from the heat. It's so cool to watch! Also, They source their pasta locally from Della Terra pasta! I could not recommend this little hidden gem in downtown more!! read more

First off the service was great and we didn't have to wait long. I thought that my girlfriend being Italian would enjoy some Italian food she couldn't wait. Turned out to a great disappointment all our food was the same portion which wasn't much , but what really ruined the meal was the amount of salt that seemed to be poured on all of our food , we went through a good amount of water to deal with the salty food , and the 152 bill was an insult . Took my bride out for a fancier lunch date today. Prices are good, considering how it's more upscale. We were served complimentary sourdough bread with two sides: butter with balsamic drizzle and sea salt & a salsa verde dip. The bread was really good. Nice sourness, soft inside with a crusty exterior. It was served warm -felt like it was straight out of the oven. Butter was good and melted fairly easily on the warm bread but it was cold butter. I think room temp would've been best but this is me being picky. The salsa verse was good and had some tartness to it. Simple. My wife liked the salsa dip more than I did. I think the verde would taste even better if it was a bread that wasn't sour to begin with. My review is still at a 5 but this is just my feedback... nothing bad at all, just some thoughts and preferences incase the restaurant is curious. We got the Beef carpaccio. It was actually my first time ever trying it. My wife insisted on something we would normally not venture to do and the funny thing is that she couldn't eat much because the texture of raw meat creeps her out. I, on the other hand, thought it was good. It reminds me of prosciutto. I ordered the Cacio é Pepe: spaghetti with saffron in white wine garlic sauce. Doesn't come with meat so I added the spicy Italian sausage. The sausage wasn't really spicy but I honestly could've eaten the pasta without the meat. It was a very simple dish. Not a cream filled, heavy dish and I really enjoyed it. My wife orders the Spaghetti Bolognese. It was very rich and hearty. She liked it and thought it was a great dish though. She also had the mixed green salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. She said it was very simple but adequately dressed with oil, balsamic vinegar etc. She was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it was. The place is nice, great ambiance. They had curtains outside of our booth that made us feel like we were in a romantic spot. But Rebecca. Let me give a shout out to her because we haven't had service that good in a long time. She was constantly making sure we had bread and that our water was full. Please read the entire review before deciding. I had a mixed experience at Patrono. I made a reservation but when I arrived the hostess wasn't very friendly and told me I can only be seated at the bar when I asked for a table. The reason she told I was being seated at the bar was all the tables were booked due to the show across the street that wasn't starting for an hour after my arrival, the restaurant was totally empty, and she was rude. In fact, I ate and departed and the other patron came into the restaurant, there was no reason why I couldn't have a seat; she was just rude. The redeeming part of this visit was the bartender. He was extremely friendly and helpful, as well as the food was delicious but slightly overpriced. Overall, I think I will try the restaurant again because of the service I received from the bartender and the delicious taste of the food. read more

If you can afford to eat out during COVID, SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! My mom and I were traveling from CA and they stayed open late to allow us to order takeout and they even offered us the option to dine-in! This was all after they had closed. The male host with curly hair, male brunette bartender, and female brunette waitress (we didn't get names) were so incredibly friendly, we would go back just to hangout with them. The staff is seriously so wonderful! THE FOOD. You can't go wrong with the pasta carbonara or cacio e pepe--both were divine! Their bread service (even as takeout) was wonderful as well!
